Grand Park Hotel Vancouver Airport, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Location

The hotel out of water from 10:AM until 9:30 PM , even with water but hot water is not available! This is unacceptable for a large hotel and should not be tolerated! Since we booked under a tour group and not sure how can we get refunds back to us. I also booked a day before the tour starts date as Sep 10 cost $318.00 so I am hoping that we can get refunds of full amount. Room 405

Filthy bedding on both beds, didn't see it til we woke up in the morning 🤢 elevator stunk of vomit. Not the best location for a nice evening out, nothing but Chinese restaurants or fast food outlets, no bars or patio areas at all.

Location is perfect. Convenient for public transportation, there is a shopping centre just behind the hotel, many restaurants (mostly Asian food) and free coffee and water.

Room is not clean, carpet, window, telephone and room lights are not clean. Hotel lobby and room has uncomfortable smell. We waited for the airport shuttle bus for more than 1 hour (it should come every 30 minutes). I called the hotel and was told the bus was full and did not stop. We continued waiting for another 30 minutes and the bus did not come. I called the hotel again and was told to take a taxi and the hotel pays the fee. That’s was great that the hotel reimbursed the taxi fee, but they could have offered me much before. After more than 30 hours trip from overseas, we were so tired. The food at the restaurant was not good. I could not finish my food. And the restaurant was not clean. I don’t consider this hotel as 4 stars.

We got in at 1 am and were very happy with the bed as we needed to crash from a long days travel.

We wish that the free shuttle ran 24 hours as was advertised on booking. This needs to be updated. Also the coffee machine in the lobby wasn’t working but there was one in our room

Not what I expected for the price I paid. Not fresh ! Hardly any food for an early breakfast . Everything dried up and overcooked. Not even fresh coffee available. ☹️

Great location for overnight airport transit and a large mall within walking distance. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

It was close to the airport and comfortable. The rooms were nice and cosy. The staff didn’t have any cocktails but referred me to a place across the street with small bites and drinks.

My flight was delayed, so I didn’t arrive at the hotel until quite late at night. I was hoping to sleep in the next morning, but a housekeeping staff member woke me early by talking loudly on the phone while cleaning a nearby room. The conversation went on for quite a while, and it was loud enough that I couldn’t fall back asleep. I found it very inconsiderate, especially knowing that some guests may have arrived late and were still sleeping. Housekeeping should be more mindful of noise levels in the morning and be more considerate of guests. Also, there were stains on the towel and bedding, which was very disappointing and made me question the cleanliness of the room.

Les lits doublés trop etroits , de largeur inférieure à 140 cm, ce ne sont pas des queen bed . J’avais demandé une chambre sûr l’arrière et l’hotesse m’avait dit qu’elle s’assurerait que cela soit fait. En arrivant j’ai été tres déçue car la chambre donnait sur la rue très passante à 4 voies. Les chambres ne sont pas bien insonorisées on entend la circulation dehors et les personnes dans le couloir. Le bac à douche est glissant.

Great location, walking distances to many restaurants and grocery stores. Parking was great, although you had to pay per night. Checkin and checkout was very easy.

The rooms were a bit dirty, found a used dirty napkins in the bathroom that was not picked up from the last guest. The duvet covers were not attached the actual blanket itself and the blanket was rough, very used.

The pillows smelled of perspiration. The sheets and bed skirt were stained. The bathtub backed up with water. No other available room or maintenance crew to fix plumbing

The beds and pillows were comfortable, we always had a good sleep after a tiring day of exploring. We also thought the shower and toilet facilities were clean and had decent toiletries included. There was a coffee and tea machine. We didn't get to use the gym or had breakfast as we heard the quality isn't so good even if it's $10 per person. We just went to nearby cafes or McDonald's within walking distance. The check in was quick and the staff were smiling but nothing more notable or exceptional. The shuttle to and from the airport was very helpful especially with kids. The shuttle to the airport was late by about 15 minutes but that comes with Vancouver traffic. Overall, it was a decent comfortable stay conveniently located within 15 minutes to the airport and also walking distance to shops and Lansdowne train station to Vancouver downtown.

Not much to say except the shuttle can be delayed due to traffic so book it with extra time to avoid delays.

Have to change room because air conditioner was to loud. No room service for 3 days. Even room service was requested for second day. Some one still come to room to adjust room temperature.

The Location was good, it's surrounded by restaurants and shopping malls. A very secure hotel and 24 hrs complimentary coffee in the lobby is a bonus. The airport shuttle wasn't working, they gave us a taxi for free.

We had difficulty when calling the hotel from the courtesy phone at the airport. We kept calling and no one picked up. We needed the courtesy bus to go to the hotel In the end my daughter called from her own phone and we got the bus, had to wait another 20 minutes The in house phone in our room did not work, it was not plugged in and we couldn’t call the front desk. Reported it when we checked out Noticed several mould patches in the shower, between the tiles. Not difficult to remove but not done

It was really really dated. Obviously a lot of foot traffic, it had dings in the walls furniture was stained , dirt on the windowsill.. it was clean! Just needed some tlc

Staff were okay and the room has been updated relatively recently. The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking business to many shops and local restaurants.

The room was dirty. It looked like it is never properly cleaned. There were stains/food splatters on the bedding and splatters of what I assumed to be food on parts of the walls. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they did change the bedding, but not the lower skirt on the beds, which was were much of the mess was. There was mold in the shower and a layer of dust/grease on the bathroom light switch. The latch on the window was broken and the window could not be locked. The HVAC filter in the room was caked in dust and had not been changed in 2 years (per the date recorded on the filter).

The location was good - in walking distance of the Canada Line. The transport service to the airport was very helpful. The beds were comfortable. Staff were helpful and we could leave our bags in a locked room after checking out of the room.

The shower water became extremely hot when the knob was turned slightly.

The location was convenient, parking was great.

T.V could be more updated, like a smart 📺 would ne a bonus. Proper drinking WATER should be readily available in every room or atleast on each floor and not having to go all the way to the lobby.

During the night sleeps there's very high level of noise because of lots off the arriving aircrafts are flying on low altitude close to hotel. It's impossible to have a good sleep.

Forget the breakfast. Mediocre. Can walk to restaurant nearby across from Bleendz coffee.

Close (10min) walk to skytrain, offer airport transport, reception staff was helpful.

The rooms are dirty, mattresses and linen are old and lost the bright white a long time ago. The cleaning service does a very poor job to maintain the room.

We were only here for 1 night after a cruise. Booked a bus tour of Vancouver with hotel drop off. Hotel front desk staff were awesome. Room was good but not what was expected because hotels are very pricey in in the Richmond/Vancouver area, especially since there were FIFA games going on. No continental breakfast. There was a restaurant in lobby that did srrve breakfast which was approximately $18-20/person. Complimentary coffee dispenser was broken and they did permit you getting it from restaurant at no charge. There were a few restaurants in the area that were walkable. Close to airport and they did provide a shuttle service there. Overall it served its purpose for a 1 night stay.

There were also several rats near the main entrance in front of the reception area. They were so close to the entrance that it looked like they could easily enter the hotel. This was extremely unpleasant and made us concerned about hygiene and safety.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I like it becuse it is modern, clean, staff are friendly, there is a restaurant and a free shuttle to the airport. The price is reasonable.

The hotel is close to the airport and surrounded by a great selection of Asian restaurants. The staff were welcoming, and check-in was smooth and efficient.

The front desk agent was really professional and provided a really complete list of all the restaurants next door.

Wasn’t impressed with hotel. Service is going Down hill. Body cream and shower soap dispenser were empty. No complementary bottle of water for room. No pen or notepad in room. Asked front desk to pre book taxi for next morning that wasn’t done. Room came with breakfast front desk forgot to provide this at checkin, had to go back to front desk and get coupons. Then the breakfast attendees slept in so breakfast was late. Bacon was supper salty.
