We enjoyed our stay with you and the pool and area was a bonus. It meant that we could enjoy what Montreal had to offer, Botanical Gardens, shopping, downtown, St Helene and relax at the pool on our return. The view from our room was spectacular and the housekeeping staff were efficient and the room was expertly cleaned and presented daily.

We absolutely loved the nature on the rooftop! The ducks and the trees were so beautiful too see! We really enjoyed the pool as well! Would have loved to enjoy the hot tubs as well but one was closed and the other was full! Next time I suppose! In all, we were very pleased with our stay! The staff at the reception and in the breakfast area were just fantastic! We will be coming back! 🤟🤟

The one thing that threw me off a tiny bit was the floors in the shower in our room, they were a bit stained with what I assume was a natural mildew build up. Also the corner of one of the walls in our room was a bit danged up but this is more of an aesthetic thing.

Breakfast Buffet, everything was cold....eggs, bacon, sausage, pan fries. Asked for boiled egg, never received it. Advised waitress, who was very pleasant, however, still ended up paying full price for two. Very disappointing and certainly not worth what you pay if not included with your room fee. Better off at McDonalds.

The place is a great central location great for sleeping as there is not a lot of noise from the downtown. Gardens and Pool are fantastic.

Tap in the bathroom was not in great shape. Had to go to front desk to fix it.

Le coût du petit-déjeuner (33$). L'accueil au petit-déjeuner : on nous a oublié au point d'attente et une autre serveuse voulait faire passer d'autres clients arrivés après nous (qui étions au début de la file) sans demander qui était là en premier. Lorsque j'ai fait remarquer au premier serveur que nous lui attendions en vain. Il ne s'est pas expliqué ni excusé.

La chambre était très jolie et bien entretenue et la literie confortable. Cafetière en chambre, fer a repasser, petit frigo et peignoir. Café en libre service dans le hall de l’hôtel. La piscine est vraiment appréciable de même que le jacuzzi et sauna. Montréal est une grande ville donc compliqué d’être à proximité de tout mais l’hôtel est à l’épicentre de beaucoup de points d’intérêts et le métro est à 2 pas.

La VMC faisait énormément de bruit dans la salle de bain et se remettait automatiquement en marche sans que nous puissions la couper, ça a vraiment été le gros point noir de ce séjour. Enfin c’est un détail mais ça aurait été appréciable d’avoir des chaussons en chambre.

The restaurant was absolutely HORRIBLE. Understaffed and food was terrible. My forgotten chicken breast was dry, salad dressing non existent on a few romaine leaves, burrata bread was moist and not toasted….

The hotel can be busy at times. Esp in morning. Coffee makers were out of milk and cups. A lot of people in the pool area throughout the day. The hotel room did feel a little dark with the black walls, and could use some touch ups in certain areas, and the carpeting.

Hotellet ligger på våning 10, så man måste alltid åka hiss upp. Lite omständigt om man inte gillar hissar utan bara vill gå in en reception.

The staff were all excellent and incredibly helpful. The hotel is close to the metro and very convenient for the viarail central station. The pool area was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying at Bonaventure when you’re in Montreal.

the Staff were all super lovely and the location perfect for a quick uber to the old port and loads of great shopping on st. Catherines . The pool had an amazing holiday vibe on a downtown roof top and was so welcome after a long day. also love the chill lounge area where everyone just made it feel like a shared living room .

Unfortunately there was a sports team staying at the same time and the young boys were up partying all night till 5 am 3 nights in a row . I know the Staff is limited to what they can do but both my husband and the guy next door had to go out several times and tell them to keep it down ( walls are quite thin ) . we were traveling with 2 children and on no sleep made for a pretty crap next day to be honest .

What a wonderful place! It was clean! The staff was super friendly! The coffee machine was my absolute favorite. I tried different types that I've never had before. Like a cortada. I thought the prices at the pool and at the restaurant were actually pretty fair. I am from America though so I might have a different outlook on that. The beds were comfortable and the products in the bathroom were excellent! I love the showers as well.

The pool is extremely busy and there are hardly any chairs to take. Because they're all filled and people leave towels on them all day long to hold them. Even though they say that's not allowed. I did get there early so that I was insured a spot. The pool is very popular!

Nice facilities, with pool area which is an oasis, nice restaurant, comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff. Good location, walking distance to main streets and old town. The main train station is beside where the airport train will connect in 2027.

The pool and duck pond were amazing; the room was lovely - hardwood floors, two rooms. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was great.

Énorme déception. Entre ce qui est vendu sur le site et la réalité, cela n’a rien à voir ! Le personnel n est pas du tout accueillant, la piscine est bruyante, l hôtel tout à fait impersonnel. Mais le pire reste le prix exorbitant des chambres par rapport à la proposition. Cet hôtel se vend comme un hôtel 4 étoiles, une « oasis de fraîcheur » en plein Montréal, mais c est une l’usine à touristes, dans son jus, les équipements et les chambres sont vraiment usés, la piscine n est pas du tout reposante. On a l impression d être en plein Spring Break. Ce séjour était très très décevants j ai m impression de m être fait arnaqué

I enjoyed everything!

The hotel is conveniently located, with pleasant surroundings and a nice swimming pool. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. However, the room décor was quite ordinary and nothing special. The biggest downside was the parking—it was expensive, and the parking garage was extremely narrow and difficult to drive through. I hope the hotel can improve this in the future.

Loved the theme. Felt like being in the Canadian wilderness when you are in the heart of Montreal. Excellent location steps from the train station and an easy walk to Old Montreal.

Beautiful location! Loved the pool and that the pool is open longer than most hotels (7am-10/11pm). Great customer service. Delicious food.

Excellent hotel in the city center, pool, but the pool was almost always occupied. I recommend it if you're planning a weekend in Montreal.

L'aménagement paysager était très impressionnant et tout simplement magnifique. La chambre était splendide avec une très belle vue sur la verdure intérieure. Les installations, comme le coin piscine, la salle de sport, le restaurant, les bars et les aires communes étaient superbes. Le service était d'autre part très sympathique et accueillant. Les aires communes étaient calmes et très confortables.

Le parking était quand même assez dispendieux. Les machines à café pour les clients étaient brisées et/ou défectueuses. Par ailleurs, un des employés de la piscine, présent le matin de notre séjour, a été plutôt bête avec nous lorsqu'on lui a posé une simple question.

Il y avait un manque de personnel: les verres n’étaient pas débarrassés autour de la piscine, une montagne de serviettes sales s’amoncelait dans un bac qui ressemblait à une grosse poubelle au milieu de l’entrée et l’escalier menant des vestiaires à la piscine n’étaient pas propres.

The hotel is beautiful and the pool and facilities are exceptional. Our room was clean and big and had very functional blackout curtains. We would absolutely stay here again.

By no means is this a sophisticated or upscale hotel. Everything is quite outdated and the lobby area is not particularly memorable. It attracts a rather odd crowd, and it’s fairly offputting to see people walking around in bathing suits and no shirts at the restaurant which is supposed to be a “nice” place. Sure, the pool is a nice feature but it gets crowded and is a bit claustrophobic. The view from our room was essentially nonexistent and the fridge in the room didn’t work and was leaking. Parking is not included either.

Location was great for events at centre bell, pool and grounds were beautiful, bed was incredibly comfortable and the blackout shades were appreciated, staff were so lovely!! Laura especially was so kind and welcoming at check in.

Great hotel located downtown. The pool and sun loungers make a great space to relax. The staff are fabulous.

Duck pond on the 10th floor was a peaceful place to spend time. Pool on 10th floor was resort-like but people staked out deck chairs with a towel and then stayed all day so it was quite crowded during the last week of July.

Too bad the pool was not bigger, but it is lovely there and maybe around 4:30pm you can find a place to sit.

The facilities were good. Most of the staff were very friendly and happy. The restaurant and breakfast were very good.

The hotel is very busy, so it can get loud. The same applies to the swimming pool, which is great but very busy. We didn't like the way the hotel did the bedding ( triple sheet) because it was very uncomfortable, and in the morning the beds were just a mess.

I am torn with this review. And I rarely write reviews as one can tell from my profile. We travel frequently and things happen. With two young children, you learn to go with the flow. The hotel itself is well located and the outdoor pool is wonderful. The room service however was indescribably bad. We don't typically order room service but were exhausted from a day well spent at the pool. We ordered the Portuguese chicken, pizza, chicken fingers and macaroni. As expected the service charges and delivery were exorbitant ($50 on a $100 actual food charge ) which again we were prepared for. What we were not prepared for was the quality of the food which to be frank was inedible. We basically sent it back practically untouched. The staff at the pool and check in were lovely although I was surprised how understaffed the pool was for the pool bar given the number of people who utilize the pool.

Onsite parking was great, but does not offer in and out privileges. The pool area was really nice for a city hotel.

The layout is a little strange and cold feeling. Split level floors with rough cement walls. Great if you like brutalist design. The rooms were modern and stylish but the beds were difficult. Because they’re platform beds and the bottom sheet (flat not fitted) does not stay wrapped around the bed, the bed and sheets slid around and rumpled up, requiring constant adjustment.

Multiple stairs, difficult navigation. Bed was not great at all. The gym was large, but equipment was outdated. There is a restaurant, but the food is restaurant type of food.

This hotel was conveniently located for our family of four and offered decent value for the price. The staff were generally friendly and welcoming, which made for a pleasant stay. The pool was nice, but it was extremely crowded, making it difficult to enjoy. The beds were comfortable, although the mattresses tended to slide around on the bed frames, which was a bit annoying. One of the biggest disappointments was the coffee machine in the lobby. It was frequently out of order or out of milk, and at one point guests were waiting over an hour for it to be refilled or repaired, with no communication or updates from staff. I was also disappointed with the valet service. I was dressed casually in a T-shirt and jeans, and while I was struggling to carry my bags up the stairs, the valet staff watched without offering any assistance. I can’t know why they chose not to help, but it left me feeling overlooked and was not the level of service I expected. Overall, it was an average stay. While I wouldn’t rule this hotel out completely, I would probably explore other options before booking here again.

This hotel was perfect for our trip! A friend and I stayed at Hotel Bonaventure for two nights while visiting Montreal to see Ariana Grande, and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was exceptional from check-in to check-out. Everyone we interacted with—from the front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant staff—was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The hotel’s restaurant was excellent, with a diverse menu that offered something for everyone. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was incredibly cozy, the bathroom was a great size, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was especially appreciated during the hot summer weather. The location was another huge plus. It’s about an 8-minute walk to the Bell Centre and roughly a 15-minute walk to Old Montreal and the Old Port. There are also plenty of great restaurants and shops within walking distance, making it easy to explore the city. If I find myself back in Montreal, I would absolutely stay at Hotel Bonaventure again. I highly recommend it!

Terrific location close to the old town as well as Bell Centre made it easy to walk everywhere. The hotel is a bit dated and worn in places, but the lobby is pleasant, the pool area is gorgeous and rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff were excellent -- particularly the front desk who helped accommodate us when my child got sick and we needed to stay in the room longer than planned. A bit pricey but would absolutely return again.

Hotel Bonaventure was a great choice for our family during our first visit to Montreal. It’s a very family-friendly hotel, and the location couldn’t have been better, with a Metro station just across the street and convenient, reasonably priced underground parking. The room was clean and comfortable. We would have appreciated a microwave, but the tea kettle was a nice addition and not something we usually see in hotels in the U.S. The room felt a bit dim, though the cloudy weather during our stay likely made it feel darker. The rooftop pool was the highlight of our stay! It was such a fun place to relax, and having two hot tubs was an added bonus. The lobby was welcoming, and our kids couldn’t get enough of the ducks on the property. We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant, but overall we had a great experience and would absolutely recommend Hotel Bonaventure to families visiting Montreal. We’d happily stay here again.
