Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Excellent staff, beautiful character full building. Fantastic food and drink, the breakfasts were delicious. Lovely spacious bathroom. Good location. Good value. Nice hostess tray. Little touches such as blankets and a fan, shampoo conditioner shower gel and moisturiser provided which is becoming rarity now.
Because of such an old building could hear every little noise, from the busy road outside to noises in the building, along with some kind of delivery at 6am approx. They did provide ear plugs and whilst we appreciate not a lot could be done still had disrupted sleep. The room was compact but had all space we needed; it was showing signs of wear such as with the curtains, sellotape on the back of tv remote or broken drawing pin on front of door and the mattress was very hard.

Est très confortable et pour nous, qui venons de belgique, et qu'il ne parlons pas anglais ? Très sympa, d'avoir le patron qui parle français ainsi qu'une des serveuse Hortense un grand merci à eux 2.

On a main road well out of town. Bed and pillows were a bit tired and room was quite small: no wardrobe. So, functional rather than comfortable.

The closeness to a busy road although every effort was made to negate this with very good double glazing but when in the beer garden it could be a bit much. Also the matress on the bed could have been a lot more comfortable as the edges were giving away (Room 3).

Reviewed Aug 16, 2026It was only a five minute drive from lymington the staff were excellent as was the food we ate breakfast twice lunch once and dinner all served quickly and all cooked to perfection .The rooms were nice and the beds comfortable.
The only downside was the noise from the road ,obviously in this heat the windows had to be open , ear plugs were available,which we didn’t feel the need to use

Excellent cooked breakfast using quality ingredients and great coffee! We chose the smallest room which was very clean and comfortable, we had good tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits. Lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water.
Close to a main road but the noise did not affect us at all. A little walk out of town, 15-20 min!

Reviewed Apr 5, 2026Monkey Brew House is a proper pub with a dining room. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the beer brewed onsite was excellent and the food good. Shout out to the lady who is in charge of the B&B side of things, she is very friendly and cooks an amazing breakfast. Everything served was of very good quality and piping hot. Its the little things such as sourdough bread, great bacon and sausage and Tiptree condiments that make all the difference. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We loved it! The rooms are on the first floor above the pub and the pub itself is situated on a main road. We couldn't hear any noise at all in the room we stayed in however it wasn't warm enough to have the windows open so may be this would be a little different in the height of summer.
Room a little tired especially the mattress which was not supportive. One minor problem is the parking situation. The pub is BUSY and that is out of season as it is used by locals and tourists alike and it is great to see a hospitality business thriving in the current climate. As a result of this car parking can be an issue. It would be really helpful for the pub to reserve three spaces for guests staying overnight. At 6pm on the second day we were unable to get parked. A kind member of staff moved her car as her shift was finishing soon, had she not done this we could not have parked on the premises which is a bit of an issue.

Dinners and Breakfasts were very good - the produce is local and of a very high standard. The location suited us as it is a short walk into Lymington with easy parking. Reviewed Sep 13, 2025Although situated on a busy road, we were not bothered by traffic noise, ear plugs were provided if required. Well situated for exploring the New Forest and Lymington areas. The room was comfortable and had everything you need for a short stay. Restaurant served good food and they have their own brewery on site so lots of different beers to try! The staff were all polite, helpful and friendly.
