Central location Clean room Good food Secure parking
Room was on the top floor, and there is no lift so it was difficult for me to get up all the stairs as I’d broken my foot the week before. It would have been helpful to have details of how to access the car park prior to arrival. Food took a VERY long time to arrive both evenings. There was no need for the lengthy delay as we’d only ordered salads. Room was not checked so mugs weren’t changed nor tea/coffee bags replenished.
Clean
Room very hot
Quirky old building.
Needed a bit of maintenance.
Lovely old building. Lots of character. Nice food. Staff were lovely!
Car park can be a challenge to find but once in it is very convenient .
Great location & extremely dog friendly
Nothing
I was a lovely old pub great atmosphere and lovely staff
Stairs are tight but it’s a very old building so if you have difficulty with stairs don’t stay
We have visited before and it was just as good this time, it’s friendly and the atmosphere is great.
Maybe better outside space to sit out
Fantastic location, comfortable spotlessly clean room, dog friendly, good parking and staff that were so very friendly and helpful. Had dinner and breakfast and both meals excellent.
Shower on the small side
Dinner and breakfast was amazing .gluten free sticky toffee was the best I had . Gluten free toast egg and avocado for breakfast and huddy had full fry up. Staff were so nice and friendly
Walking up lots and lots of stairs as room was top floor but room was so nice it was OK
Ambiente e ristorante
Il fatto di essere al terzo piano senza ascensore e scale strette per portare agevolmente i bagagli
we liked the location , staff & cleanliness, but facilities, building & surroundings were old & in need of upgrade badly. This made our stay difficult & challenging at times.
see above
The location could not be better, the staff were pleasant and the continental breakfast was good. Thank goodness for the fan in the room.
Make sure you speak directly with the hotel if you have mobility issues. My messages to the hotel on Booking.com were not received in time to address my requests or for the hotel to let me know that they could not be addressed.
Location great, staff are extremely helpful, polite, well mannered and attentive, food good, pub nice lay out, very organised, secure parking, our room was very spacious snd on two levels, bed very comfortable. Great location to get the wight link ferry.
Would’ve liked some bottled water in the room.
Good location. Clean, well equipped rooms
Outside seating area needed refreshing.
Location was perfect for our 1 night stsy
Breakfast was too late as had to catch a ferry back to Idle of Wight. 7.30 woukd have been better. Seemed short staffed and took a while to book in. Car park instructions could have been clearer.
We chose the hotel for the town location. It was very easy to walk to the shops, visit the harbour for fish and chips, take a train to other destinations.
We travelled on a very hot week so the hotel was uncomfortable. Once on the ferry, we had a call saying there were road works starting in the evening and going through till midnight. Will likely try another venue for our next visit.
The staff was super friendly and lovely
The room was under the roof and had the tiniest window. It felt like I was in a cellar and it was so hot and there wasn’t any AC.
Staff and Breakfast we're Brilliant! The Irishman served a mean Breakfast.
As our room overlooked the main road. It was a bit noisy! But really to be expected.
Light next to TV.
Central high street location and a 5 min walk to the quayside
Whilst the heat was an exception, the room was very warm and due to it being road racing not easy to have windows open. Fan was appreciated though
The whole experience was brilliant, staff and food fantastic
It is a tatty hotel in the middle of Lymington very overpriced 3 nights, 3 different prices, when booking we were told same price for each night the room was only serviced if you asked, which we didnt know, hence our room was not serviced the 3 days. I think Marstons are only interested in grabbing your money and not serving the customer properly. Hard not to presume that you are being ripped off.
Amazing staff without exception. So friendly and helpful.
Location & Parking. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed.
Room was very hot as no air conditioning and window would only open slightly. Also very noisy from the room above & outside overnight and early morning. Maybe try for a room toward the rear of the hotel.
Relaxed environment, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food
No issues
Superb location in a Beautiful town. Great character in rooms and great food
Good location
Strange opening hours. The owner made it clear he wasn't happy I arrived before he opened at 12 noon! Very poor room poorly appointed. Antiquated! Good garden for an evening drink.
Excellent service. Friendly staff. Lovely clean room.
Bedroom was a little on the small size but didn't affect our stay.
The staff went out of their way to make our mothers 80th Birthday special. The room was excellent and the breakfast outstanding
It is a building with a lot of history
The outside space needs some redevelopment and unfortunately it is urban rather than a garden.
Location was very good being in the high street. Use of a proximity card to gain access to the main door was good. Room was clean and tidy with tea making facilities.
Room 4. The shower seemed to have a leak in the piping where it meets the shower head which meant there was a lack of water pressure coming out of the shower head. There no bottled water supplied for tea/coffee making which meant it to be purchased from the bar at £4 which is highly expensive. There was no AC in the room apart from a fan, which gave no output of cold air during a hot night, infact we had to go out late in the evening to cool down, with the room being hotter then the outside temperature
Comfortable room and good ensuite, all very clean. Great location.
Air con would have been nice Breakfast quite slow and sausage had probably been cooked a long time
Lovely room with comfortable beds. Friendly staff and a tasty breakfast
Room was too hot
Parking is a real bonus, early check in, staff very nice. Lovely pub
Great position in the town
Room very warm due to the hot weather
Brilliantly located right in the centre of the High Street easy access to everywhere.
Great location for Lymington Seafood festival
Market day set up was a bit noisy very early, but to be expected
On our previous visits we have had evening meal here but this time just popped in for a lunchtime drink and some chips, service was pleasant, decor and atmosphere good
The property was in a good location with parking at the rear
The shower was quite poor and the plumbing noisy but it is an old building
A warm welcome, nice room and good location plus a great breakfast served by nice staff...only downside was the tv did not work so we couldn't watch the tennis final in the afternoon ..we told a member of the team about this..
...missing the tennis after a long drive
Staff very pleasant
Described as a deluxe room which I felt was inaccurate Room at the top the building with several flights of twisting stairs. Very difficult for elderly people with luggage No assistance offered. Wouldn't have booked this room if we had known
Excellent stay, comfortable room. Good location, Lymington beautiful place. Breakfast was good and service brilliant, especially from Sergen (sorry if spelt name wrong). Added bonus with parking availability. Looking forward to going back.
Excellent stay, very friendly staff, good breakfast, Good location.
Good breakfast, friendly staff, comfortable room

Honestly the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. You placed us in room 11, this is essentially an attic room. These rooms should not be sold in the current heatwave, there was absolutely no air and you didn’t even have the decency to put some water bottles in the room. The light on the right hand side of the bed doesn’t work. The shower dribbled out water if you wanted even the slightest bit of heat. £150 to stay on a hot box was not what I had in mind. Absolutely shocking - no duty of care for guests at all.
The bath/ shower was very hard to get into.
Perfect location and beds comfortable but the showers in all 4 rooms we had booked where very poor the refurbishment had not gone as far as to do the bathrooms which was a shame as they let down the rooms a whole lot
The decoration in the rooms was very nice
Calm
Everything was good could have had more vegan options
A great place to stay. Food for dinner and breakfast was exceptional. The room recently refurbished was tasteful and comfortable.
Location was fantastic
Shower pressure was not great
Most aspects
The room was unpleasantly hot despite the best efforts of the team and was appreciate that the heat wave made it difficult in a presumably listed building
Good location in middle of town. Room was spacious with windows that opened. Breakfast was well cooked and served by helpful staff. Manager eventually found us some extra fans to help us cope with the heat.
The car park was difficult to find as there was no signposting on the street indicating where to turn. It was very hot and extra/better fans were needed. Some early morning noise from the street on Saturday morning as the market was being set up.
Great service and staff that would do anything to make your stay excellent and home from home so you didn’t no you was in a hotel And the food was great to and we eat there most days when we wanted a main meal
Nothing
Lovely welcoming, efficient staff. Clean, comfortable room with everything we needed. Interesting and quirky old building right on the high street. Slept all night undisturbed with the big window wide open ( heatwave!). Fans provided. Great to have a magnifying mirror for make-up!! Nice to have a bath.
Only slight criticism was the smell on the staircase up to the room - not in the room.
Location, Parking and Very pleasant and helpful staff.
The room we had at the front was quite noisy as overlooked the main high street- a lot of deliveries were made especially early morning.
although the rooms was lovely, being as it was in the eves, the window was sooo tiny, it was difficult to get any air into the room.
Lovely
Nothing
Friendly staff
Bed was one sided very difficult to get in and out.
Great location, lovely staff, good breakfast!
Twin rooms on the third floor - those stairs!
Very cool property, Really has a ancient charm in our British heritage.
The shower was no more than a dribble. Lack of water pressure. Being a plumber I do know how it can be a problem, if you have a cistern feeding the shower. But put a pump in under the bath? 🤷♂️
Very nice stay at the hotel. Room was lovely, but shower was feeble plus little touches not finished.
Happy
Good
Central in Lymington
Saturday market sets up at 6.00am - and right outside my bedroom window! Nightmare!
Location Price Free parking Lovely bed, linen & towels Good staff Nice pub
Nothing
The room itself was clean and well presented. The bathroom had issues - see below. The staff were friendly and helpful; chef cooked a meal for my friend which was not on the Sunday menu.
This is a very old building, and as such does not lend itself to accommodating the facilities expected by many travellers. Our room, Room 7, had a shower over the bath, and anyone over 5'10" would have to crouch to get under it. And no shower screen or curtain whatsoever, because it had been removed, as can be seen in the photograph, which resulted in the tiled floor becoming soaking wet and extremely slippery, therefore dangerous. It would have been far better if they had done one thing or the other - bath or shower, rather than both. And this is a pub, which didn't have any tomato juice, so the first drink request of a Bloody Mary couldn't be had.
Friendly welcome nice enough from good breakfast right location
Far too expensive for what it is
Good location and friendly staff
Seemed a touch shabby round the edges and ceiling height very low in the 2nd floor corridor, I appreciate that it’s an old building but had I known I might have booked elsewhere, at 6’5” low heights are an issue. Food quality is declining at Marston properties that I have stayed at recently, this one was no exception
Breakfast 8/10 Room 8/10, squeeky floor. Location 10/10.
Central location. Free parking.
Cooked breakfast was good but limited.
Welcoming staff
No air conditioning.
Great location on high street close to all amenities. Bed was comfortable and shower/bathroom was huge
The room was exceptionally hot (there was a heatwave), the poor quality fan provided and amount we could open the windows meant there was little air circulation. Although the rooms have been renovated the pib/bar areas are down at heel
Breakfast v good
Overpriced room.
Our room was spotlessly clean and we'll appointed. The staff were all excellent.

Friendly staff, quirky place, good location with free parking , nice room recently renovated.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Angel &Blue Pig , all the staff were very friendly and welcoming , the service for food was very friendly and professional, and the food was very good , and large quantities. The location was right in the heart of the town, we will definitely be returning, and hopefully soon
Dog friendly. Good location. Parking included.
This is bedrooms above a pub on the high street. Really centrally located in Lymington. Rooms are well above pub and quiet from pub and high street noise. Rooms clean and has all the facilities we needed. Ideal for a stay for 1-3 nights when exploring the area.
Free parking is dependant on room in a busy private car park. We were lucky but I imagine others who arrived later might find it more difficult. These are rooms above a pub and not a 'full facility hotel'. Therefore no 24 hour reception and when pub closes the staff go home. As long as guests accept that then it's great.
Lovely choice of breakfast and nice size portions. Location is fantastic nice and central.
Maybe some fruit juice included in the breakfast price.
Room was adequate size and clean and tidy although on the 3rd floor and no lifts but a great character pub and excellent location on main hight street, Parking was convenient although limited parking spaces.
No lift as mentioned but they can't fit one bein a listed building. Nothing really not to like. Its a good place to stay.
In town, able to enjoy a lovely town centre. Convenient fir the Isle of Wight Ferry crossing.
As with many old buildings - no lifts, steep staircase.
A really good stay. Very comfortable and spacious room and bathroom. We faced the road but the double glazing kept out most of the traffic noise - no problem there. Great breakfast - no continental available but the cooked was really delicious and well prepared. Pleasant friendly service from the staff and parking available which was a bonus.

Comfy bed, central location, free parking, very helpful and polite employees
The bedroom had an adjoining room, separated by a door, to another room, let on a separate booking so every small sound could be heard. Noisy outdoor extractor fan. Expensive for what it was. Outside decor of pub and rear garden area desperately in need of painting/ refurbishment
Sunday lunch
Stairs were very steep, we had our room changed to second floor instead of third floor! It appears you need to check as early as possible to get a room on a lower flour, didn’t know that!
Location
Bar staff
Great location in the centre of town, friendly helpful staff, a real character place.Clean and comfortable.
Long wait for breakfast to be served.
The room what what we expected with a comfortable bed, A good choice on menu for breakfast and location perfect.
The shower could have been better.
We have stayed here on several occasions, and have never been dissapointed. The staff are amazing, and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food was really good quality and by husband said best steak he has ever had.
Nothing at all.
Location excellent, bar area lovely and staff amazing, welcoming and friendly.
Charming , comfortable, clean, rooms friendly staff
Great location. Lovely historic building. Staff were attentive and welcoming.
No shelves or storage in bathroom for products .
Fabulous building, staff were wonderful, very friendly and attentive, room was extremely comfortable, breakfast was delicious, will definitely stay again
