The staff were exceptional. The breakfast was excellent.

A wider menu on an evening other than pizzas.

Ideal if travelling by train as station a minutes walk. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Brilliant shower and all very clean. Great staff and atmosphere in the pub and the breakfast was excellent. Surprised how quiet it was.

Honestly the only thing I could say (Was ok for me) but nice big shower but the way the door is mounted inwards you have go in shower and close the door so your in the corner-if you were bigger that might cause a problem…

The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very good and the cappuccino in particular was delicious. Location was excellent - close to both the railway station and the high street, but it was surprisingly quiet.

I was staggered to learn that the charge for a dog was £25 per night. I joked about his getting a cooked breakfast but, in fact, he was given a meal bowl, treats and a generous portion of sausage each morning at breakfast. Still, I think £25 was high. When I first made the booking, I was told that we would have a room with its own entrance and a garden view. The day before our arrival, we received an email from Bosun's Chair saying we would be in room 5. Turns out it was on the top floor and there was no garden view. I didn't query it but probably should have. I also felt our room was on the small side. There was nowhere to sit but on the bed, and there was very little space between the foot of the bed and the wall. When my husband was sitting at the foot of the bed, he had to move if I wanted to walk past.

The room was really quiet and despite it being a pub, it was probably the best night sleep I’ve had for quite a while. It’s close enough to the town and train station to cover all your needs, but on a street with little noise, will definitely recommend a stay.

I didn’t realise that it was a sports bar arrived before time I realise had to wait for the rooms to be cleaned but we couldn’t have a quiet drink there because the noise and the people were there to watch the football from midday to the evening and got very loud next time

Very friendly place a short walk from town centre. I didn't eat dinner or drink here as was meeting friends elsewhere but it looked very inviting with a large outdoor area. Lovely breakfast in the morning.

Deluxe room with side sea view was a roof top. Only reason l booked that room was to see sea. Restaurant English cuisine was a Sports bar with pizzas

Loved the location. Only a short walk to the town centre and all that offers by way of pubs, cafes and a good selection of shops. The pretty harbour is only 2 streets away too. A small car park at the rear was a bonus as is the good size beer garden. Our room (no. 9) at the front of the building was a good size, nicely decorated and comfortable. A rather large modern ceiling fan kept the room cool enough to sleep. The well stocked hospitality tray was appreciated, as were the two comfy armchairs. The Breakfast Menu offered a good choice with good quality ingredients, well produced and very tasty.

Bar prices seemed a bit high, but then Lymington generally is a bit more expensive.

Breakfast was great. Perfect location for exploring Lymington and very near the station. Lovely, quiet room with a very comfy bed.

Quite a lot of stairs if you find stairs difficult but we knew about them beforehand so didn't mind!

So dog friendly which is refreshing. Lots of places say they are and then turn out not to be. This was brilliant even a little tub of treats on arrival plus a sausage at breakfast. Room had everything you needed and they had really made the most of the space. Great ceiling fan and also provided a free standing fan which was good as it was boiling! Staff were exceptional couldn’t do enough for us. Good outside space.

Only minor things, car park a bit snug but not much they can do about that. Great vanity unit with a fab mirror but unless you unplugged the light or the tv there wasn’t a plug near enough for straighteners etc.

Some of the bar staff were a bit abrupt and not very welcoming. Cost for the room/stay was on the expensive side for the facilities in comparison to other b&b I have stayed in.

The Bosun's Chair is perfectly located in Lymington, very convenient for Beaulieu and the New Forest. The staff are really friendly and the breakfast was great! The team was also able to help me with an early breakfast on the Sunday (I pre-ordered on the Saturday), so that I could get to Beaulieu on time that morning.

The room was perfectly good - though as can be expected this very hot summer, it was a bit too warm (despite being provided with a fan)!

SHOWER WAS PRETTY POOR. WEAK FLOW AS ALL ELECTRIC SHOWERS. ROOM WAS HOT BUT THATS NOT THEIR FAULT AND YOU DO GET 2 FANS INCLUDING A GREAT CEILING FAN. OVERALL FAR MORE POSITIVE THAN NEGATIVE.

Perfect for the ferry terminal, just 2 minutes drive away. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Our room was spacious and clean. Excellent position in Lymington. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Parking was easy and good outdoor seating areas.

Having rung to check that we could bring our dog, l was then asked to pay £25 per night for the dog. £50 for two nights to bring a dog is outrageous. I completely understand that a room may need extra cleaning if a dog has stayed but £25 per night is ridiculous and this was not mentioned when l called. This should be clearly advertised.

The property was very central, super close to the train station and not too far from town centre but not too busy or noisy. Staff were very pleasant and breakfast was super. We also enjoyed our drinks with warm pork cracklings.

There was a bit of noise outside our window when people were getting taxis in front of the pub but then it was a Saturday night.

The Australian young lady who served us both days for breakfast was very pleasant and went above and beyond Highly recommended Excellent place to stay

The only thing to improve on would be to have a fridge a little bigger in the room as it was extremely hot when we stayed and it only held 2 cans of lemonade it would have been nice to have keep bottle of water in

Interestingly decorated room, very comfortable bed, excellent shower, good view overlooking the garden behind the pub, airy and cool despite the hot weather. Delicious and well-prepared breakfast. All staff were very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel at home. Very conveniently situated close to Lymington town train station.

The only downside is, this being a pub, the garden was noisy with drinkers up until closing time. But that comes with the territory and once the pub closed the area was very quiet and peaceful.

The rooms were unique. Very clean and spacious. Although it was next to the station, it was very quiet. The staff were lovely, and helpful and the breakfast was great.

The only food on offer at lunchtime or in the evening, was Pizza, so we went into Lymington or elsewhere to eat. Had there been an alternative menu, we would probably have eaten in the hotel. It would have been good if the tea/coffee/milk in the room could have been replenished.

Car park quite small so parking not guaranteed. WiFi didn't always connect. Mini cooler in room only fits 2 small water bottles and not really cold so could do with a mini fridge.

The location is just on the edge of the town by the railway station. Staff very friendly and they serve real ale. They sell pizza'a which is fine and affordable for those on a tight budget or youngsters who cannot afford the more expensive restaurant pubs in the town. We dis not eat in the evening but can say the breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared. Room comfortable and spacious for our two night stay. The pub had been recently redecorated.

Clean rooms above a busy pub, what not to like. I was on my own on business and the room had everything I needed, apart from a fridge, especially in the current heat wave. The breakfasts were one of the best I’ve had in a longtime and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Excellent!

Friendly welcome, room was newly decorated and had everything you needed, plenty of towels and nice toiletries. Breakfast waitress was lovely

"Versace" decor not to our taste and not in keeping with location but others might like it. Would've been nice to have a small fridge and fresh milk and while it was nice to eat breakfast outside the floor could've done with a sweep as lots of cigarette butts🤮

Lovely staff, comfortable and spacious room. Excellent breakfast made with ingredients of obvious quality. Location was ideal for exploring Lymington. Large beer garden was a nice place to enjoy a quiet drink.

Our stay was during a heatwave so the room was hot. Windows only appeared to open a few inches and although a fan was included it could only mitigate slightly. If we had stayed in ‘normal’ conditions I’m sure the quality of the bed and bedding would have provided a perfect environment for sleep. So this is more of an observation than a criticism.

Well decorated rooms, ideal location to harbour and station. Breakfast was really good. Staff all friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately our stay was impacted by the heat. No air con or airflow. I would question whether they should still be letting guests stay in those temperatures as we just didn’t sleep. Coffee machine also not working.
