Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Modern clean rooms. Good breakfast. Breakfast staff are very friendly. Great location for two good restaurants nearby and to make a base for the Lake District. Overall, this is a great value for money hotel.
Zero welcome at reception. Staff never smiled, looked tired or uninterested. The water pressure in the shower was pathetic.

Most of the staff are friendly and helpful.One of the male members of staff 's attitude was less friendly and waited for me to ask him for what I should like at the bar, giving me the impression I was a trouble to him, which was a bit disappointing , but I marked it high overall as the rest had an excellent approach.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026Communication prior to arrival was excellent. I booked 4 rooms for a c2c cycling challenge. We all arrived at 10-30pm and check in was hassle free. After a fantastic shower a late bar helped. The rooms were to a very high standard. Bathroom/shower were also immaculate. Everyone one was impressed with the excellent breakfast. Late check out was appreciated.

Very limited parking at the hotel. Overspill parking bottom of road which was inconvenient when you have to carry cases etc. Had accident in shower injuring my leg.As I was stepping down to get out of shower I slipped backwards and leg caught fixed glass panel. There was no non slip surface in shower and nothing to hold on to as you step down out of the shower. Reported accident to staff who filled in accident report form. Also provided photo of my badly bruised leg. Staff member said their cleaners complained about the showers to clean. Not heard anything more since leaving!

Having to pay £3 to park - we stayed here in December and didnt pay this and when I mentioned it at reception the receptionist didnt give me a reply Room noise - unfortunately we were at the front on the corner and there was a boy racer going up and down with a very noisy car for hours and then the clock outside chimed every 15 mins Room cold on arrival No biscuits on tea tray
