The place was clean and okay for a short stay. Nothing special, but for the price we paid, it was absolutely fine and did the job. Good option if you’re looking for somewhere affordable for a night.

The room was above a bar, so it was quite noisy, and there was also a lot of noise coming from the street. However, it was Saturday night, so this was somewhat expected. The main downside for us was that the bed was quite uncomfortable. But overall, considering the low price, you get what you pay for.

The staff was amazing. The barr prices was very cheap . The burger and chips was the best I have tasted and was good value for money. I took my dog with me And found the hotel very pet. friendly. Good car parking . I recommend this hotel

I loved everything the hotel was lovely, staff very welcoming and informative. Also being able to have our puppy stay was great due to our long distance. Room very spacious and clean. Bath was so deep and had everything you needed from toiletries to tea, coffee and loads of milk. Very friendly environment and pub downstairs was nice and everyone friendly.

The matress on the beds was my only thing due to having a bad back. Beds were too soft and springs in my back and only 1 pillow.

Excellent location right next to Barrow rugby league for an away fan, easy parking outside the pub, staff friendly and helpful, pub Excellent, great choice of drinks at superb value, I didnt eat but the kitchen appeared to be open until 1am!, room was comfy, and clean, shower hot and ensuite big enough, it was a very hot day (about 30c) and room was cool. Would definitely stay again.

Fridge in hallway was very messy and unclean, but more residents fault than hotels.

A veces se escuchaba ruido del pub, pero al pedir que bajarán el sonido, lo hacían. No me gustó el rellano con el microondas y tostadora y muchos platos y vasos en el suelo. Y los olores del microondas. Me pareció un poco sucio y mala imagen. Compartí una habitacion de tres y la puerta del baño no se cerraba bien. Las habitaciones un poco antiguas. Y de moqueta Me hubiera gustado desayuno incluido.

Location to shops, easy access to the road to leave

No breakfast mentioned, narrow entrance to stairwell through pub, Worst position for room 1. Right next to industrial extractor fan outside of window that would be running till 2am in the morning had to close window to drown out the drone but was still disturbed sleep felt extremely stressed every morning. With window closed became very hot and stuffy. Window narrow looked out onto a industrial extractor fan and a brick wall glass was wired and frosted safety glass so no view just noise. Ended up leaving a day early asap. Not happy very disappointed

The rooms are located on top of a pub, no noise during the night, good communication, able to check in later as the pub is open till late.

A wonderful warm welcome, as always. Room was comfortable, got a bit warm but a fan was provided.

The sink shelf was missing/broken. Made storage a bit awkward.

gehorig en veel lawaai van uit de bar, dus de pub eronder. dit is niet verteld bij de booking, dus je kunt pas gaan slapen na 24.00 als de pub is gesloten. niet echt schoon, dekbedden zijn eigenl;ijk een plastic zak, super syntetisch, en de bedcover ook sentetisch. je bent smorgens dus electrisch geladen. kamer erg warm, geen ventilator.

Warm atmosphere

The location was excellent for the park and the beach. The prices were great and the staff nice. I always stay at the ambrose when I go to barrow. There was TV and plenty of tea and coffee. The benches outside are great for an early morning smoke and brew!

Location is good

No mirror when you are dressing up for the night. The small mirror in the bathroom is too high and I am 5”3”. The mattress is awful. My room is twin bed. Sleeping in a single bed, i almost fell when I turned to my side. The mattress button was also digging on my skin. Did not sleep well just thankful it was only for one night. The carpet looks stained and dirty.

It was close to the job and handy for the supermarkets.

Beds were really comfortable and clean. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk in the rooms as well more on the landings if you needed. More than 1 toilet roll and more on the landing again so you don't have to ask if more is required. The room was a brilliant size and we could take the dog. The staff and locals were really friendly and we didn't hear any noise from the pub at all even with the 3 sky windows open. The windows had blinds in them which helped keeping the sun out as it was really hot. We had food in our room on the first night and that was lovely and the drinks were reasonably priced. Overall we enjoyed our stay if the toilet and shower were OK then all would have been fine but given it was bank holiday it was probably hard to find someone at short notice.

The toilet leaked and kept refilling - I informed them Sunday evening and it was 'fixed' Tueday but in fairness it was late when I told them and I said don't call someone out we can take the lid off and stop it. I did think it would fixed Monday but it was bank holiday and maybe they couldn't get anyone at short notice. It was fixed Tuesday but then it needed more flushes and reading other reviews a couple mentioned the toilet in 2025 so a bit disappointed to see the problem again in May 26 (it wasn't a new toilet). The shower was loose (another review in 23) but at this point I didn't bother telling them as it was bank holiday. The room could do with a dusting in the beams which would make a hugh difference as people had wrote and drew on it.

Customer wear rude a lady with a sausage dog as soon as I came in to the pub to go to my room she got up from her table that was in front and she bloody hell you ok why open the door like that ffs I don't know what she was talking about but I felt really u eased with her tone and my daughter was a bit scared staff never said anything to her just stood behind the bar

Staff never said anything to her or ask me if I was ok because she saw that because she was standing behind 30 bar and when we got there we had to wait for a half hour before she checked us in because she was serving behind 2 bars and wasn't very helpful

We had arrived with a21st party going on at 5! It continued until 1am keeping us awake! Then a fight broke out and police arrived! An absolute nightmare! And too top it off at 8am we tried to pay and no one, not one member of staff was available, if they were even there at all ! We waited until 10am and still no one was there, so we left the key on the office door handle and went! The worst hotel experience of our life! We have now received an email saying we were a no show which is absolutely rubbish! Never going back! Will happily pay a a reduced price for the stay ! Our review of the hotel and booking dot com will reflect our experience!

Cleaniess Location

Although the room was clean it need some attention with things like drawee handles missing and fixes that had been removed but not fully. Spy hole in door is to high I am 5ft 8 and had to stand on tip toe to use it. No breakfast which I wasn't told but luckily found it in someone else's review. TV seemed to be set to one channel and volume. And very nosiness with people using fire exit stairs to smoke and use there phones what seemed like every 20 minutes through the night. I think I had around 2 hours sleep in all. Not good when it had taken me over 4 hours to get there and 4 hours to get home after 2 hours sleep.

El aseo no estaba limpio. La calefacción cuando conseguí que funcionará, fue desconectada sobre las 23.00 horas, con el frío que hacía! Mi ventana daba a una calle trasera donde había gente riéndose y haciendo ruido. Había un ruido horroroso en la parte de arriba de mi habitación, me imagino sería algún tipo de aparato o incluso la extracción de la cocina. Estaba en una segunda planta sin ascensor, y cuando fui a hacer el checkout, no encontré a nadie para devolver la llave, así que la dejé en el mostrador de recepción. Sobre las 21.00 baje al bar a tomar algo y ver el final del partido de fútbol! Y había una pareja muy borracha y molesta con un perro que casi me muerde. En fin, un desastre.

The hotel bar was very friendly and welcoming and, not only the staff, but the regulars too. It offers a wide variety of beers on draught, with a decent array of spirits and wines also available. Three different SKY TV boxes linked to multiple large screen TVs means that there is plenty to choose from to watch, if that's your thing.... especially handy for football fans. You can alternatively sit in a quiet corner for a chat. Food is available for eating in the bar, or to take to your room if you'd rather do that. All topped off by wonderful staff. Well worth a visit.

I wasn't too happy with the beds. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the springs were very annoying.
