The staff at the Townhouse hotel went above & beyond to make sure our stay was pleasurable i would definitely recommend this place to stay

Absolutely loved this place, Even though there was a busy bar downstairs you couldn't hear any noise in the rooms at all, Will definitely be staying again

Great central location! Room was very spacious

Presumably all the staff park in the car park (as most had driven off by about 11pm when we were returning from dinner) so there wasn’t any space, which was frustrating as the car park is advertised for customers. We did find a pay and display nearby though so parked there instead - but definitely research a nearby parking location and don’t rely on the car park. The shower thermostat didn’t turn colder and it was set at scalding hot - too hot to hold your hand under never mind shower. There were no staff available to speak to about this so we had to send a message after checking out (no staff at checkout, it’s a key drop) and they said they’d look into it so hopefully that has been rectified. Other than that, the room was spacious and clean and great value for money.

We have just spent 2 nights here and honestly, it was absolutely unreal! We were so shocked when we first walked into our room at how beautiful, spacious and luxurious it was. Everything was so well set out and thought through, with such lovely cosy vibes that made us feel instantly comfortable and relaxed. We also loved that we were able to bring our little dog with us — he absolutely loved it too! 🐶❤️ Having a bath in the bedroom while watching TV was such a lovely experience and added something really special to our stay. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! ❤️

The only small thing I would say is that you could hear some of the music from downstairs in the room, but it stopped at midnight, so it really wasn’t an issue for us.

Loud club downstairs on the Saturday night so was very loud music. Also, quite a bit of trouble involving the police on the street outside. Wet patch on the floor near be bath, broken sign and glass within the room. Grout in the bathroom had some mould on it.

After reading the reviews I started to think if I made the right choice. I can say I did. The Hotel and bar was brilliant. It was well Valued for the money. The bed was so comfy.

Modern, clean, great location

Wonderful property, excellent rooms with bathroom and kitchenette (with a proper kettle, fridge, sink) comfy bed and good size. We ate at the restaurant downstairs both nights and it was fantastic. All the staff, though very young, were very nice and we enjoyed exploring the area especially the island beaches nearby.

Because of current building works, neither of our windows opened and sadly the provided fan just moved around the hot air.

The room was spacious and the meal we had in the restaurant was lovely. And so are the cleaners.

When we arrived we where "greated" by a member of staff, i say greated but i felt like i was an inconvenience to her. We stayed in the Dalton suite, which is a very nice room, but the tv is far too small for the room, and it was too warm. Our room was right above the bar and if you stood on the floor the floor actually vibrated with the bass of the music it was horrendously loud. We went for a meal in the restaurant, which was lovely, I asked about breakfast as we weren't told about it when we checked in. The same member of staff informed me it would be delivered to our room after the restaurant had closed, which puzzled me. So at 10pm we got a knock on our door, my husband answered it to a young man with two trays in his hands and said, " here are your breakfasts and sorry about the noise". The breakfast consisted of 2 pastries, 1 very small jar of jam, 1 pot of muesli, 1 pot of yoghurt and a small bottle of orange juice. Which I do not consider a continental breakfast. After being woken up at 10pm with our breakfast and the very, very loud music we left the hotel at 10am and met the cleaners on the stairs, which where a lot more polite to us, asking did we have a long journey to go and have a safe journey, than the actual staff member was.

It was very central, and good value for money.

Scaffolding outside, which could have been mentioned in the booking process, as well as a lack of a lift, which could be an issue with some guests.

Had kitchen but couldn't drink tap water, only had 1 bottle of water for 2 guests. Toilet smelt like it wasnt cleaned with nice products felt dated and cheap. Seguals all over the roof from the window, that were really loud.. Check in was in the wine bar. Just didnt feel like a boutique hotel. Would rather go to stay at weatherspoon and its 1/2 price.

The room was a good size and clean and comfortable. Dogs can come to the not carpeted area of the restaurant.

The hotel isn't really a hotel, as it doesn't provide breakfast. There is a sink and crockery and cutlery, a toaster, fridge and kettle. But nothing to make coffee with. There is no lift so don't come with heavy luggage or if you have difficulty with lots of stairs.

I can’t speak for weekdays but we stayed Friday and Saturday night and below the hotel it’s a bar/restaurant but apparently it turns into a nightclub at weekends and the music was so loud and shouting/screaming from people was constants up until about midnight-1am. Just something to note if you plan to stay on a weekend and won’t be joining the party below.

Staff in restaurant were lovely also was the amazing housekeeper who helped me out alot when my husband was held up at ship yards and let me stay in room extra 2 hours as raining and unsure of area. The food was exceptional also.

We stayed in room 5 which was noisy as beside main door . The room door banged all evening plus there was a led light on the stairs which lit up the entire room. We like dark and quiet for sleep . Unfortunately this was the downfall of hotel for us as we hardly slept

Room was fitted and equipped to a high standard. I only stayed one night but if longer stay would have used the kitchenette. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Food was fine in bar and business was good in happy hour. Happy to recommend

Perfekte Lage und eine mega Auststattung. Parkplatz öffenlich hinterm Haus. Das Zimmer hat ein mega Bad mit einer top Rain shower Dusche. Auch die kleine Küche ist mit allen ausgestattet was man braucht. Abends wird für ein kleines Frühstück alles ins Zimmer gebracht wie Joghurt, Gebäckstücke, Marmelade, Orangensaft, 2x Wasser, Tee und Kaffee ist eh immer im Zimmer. Für mich perfekt. Auch das Restaurant war spitze 3 Gang Menü für 21 Pfund super lecker. Komme gerne wieder

The room was nicely decorated, clean and the bed was a good size. The location was central and there were adequate parking options. Staff were polite. There is lively bar and restaurant downstairs which is nice. We ate there. It was nice enough. The wine was poor quality though. My wine glass had a lipstick stain on too.

The TV didn't work and the shower was stuck on boiling. We couldn't shower. The breakfast is delivered to the room the day before. It was Granola, yoghurt, pastries and orange juice. It was ok but there is nowhere to eat other than on the bed. I also missed not having proper coffee. There is instant available. There is a kitchen sink in the room but a sign says the water isn't safe for drinking. There is 2 small bottles of water in fridge though. We ran out in the night so I drank the pre boiled water In the kettle! Despite the negatives we were satisfied on the whole for what we paid.

Great location I like how the restaurant is just down stairs quiet to sleep but great for go down I’ve stayed here many times when visiting family

Welcome from staff at front desk was not very friendly, no extra help offered, advice on the local area etc. tried to speak to bar staff for local recommendations but none available as seemed to be chatting amongst themselves- perhaps dealing with an issue?

Leider wurde unsere vor 10 Monaten gebuchte Suite an andere Gäste vermietet und uns wurde bei Ankunft das letzte einfache Zimmer und eine Flasche Prosecco als Ersatz angeboten. Nachdem wir uns nicht damit zufrieden gegeben haben, wurde uns Abendessen als Entschädigung angeboten. Leider konnten wir uns das Zimmer noch nicht einmal anschauen, da die programmierten Schlüssel und der Masterschlüssel die Tür nicht geöffnet bekommen haben. Der Manager hat es noch nicht einmal für nötig empfunden mit uns persönlich zu sprechen. Wir mussten uns dann woanders ein Zimmer suchen.

Noisy street, parking was around the corner. Front door didn't shut very well which in the area was a worry regarding security. The room didn't have aircon and as it was a noisy street, leaving the window open meant dealing with the noise.

Didn't like the fact I booked 2 double deluxe rooms I was in one of the rooms and my granddaughter in the other room her room was not the same as mine I was so disappointed it was her first holiday with me it was room 11 no way was her room as nice mine I was in room 9 was disappointing as I thought the rooms were the going to be the same

The room was very clean and well appointed. It was reasonable value too.

The only window in the room was across from the kitchenette to the bathroom with a separating wall so that there was no view. Furthermore, there was no window blind so although it was small there was too much early light. Also, the green light on the ceiling (I assume a smoke detector) was incredibly bright so it was difficult to sleep. Staff didn’t deliver my breakfast until I asked them where it was around 10:30pm. It’s very noisy due to the pub below.

Couldn’t find the property initially! No lift . Bathroom needs a shelf by the loo ! A drainer would be helpful in the kitchen area . Nowhere to put plates etc to dry .

Although the room was comfortable... we didn't think it was worthy of a boutique experience.... The bar area and restaurant were fabulous... as was the food and service... not over priced and great value for money.

The room was small and the bathroom floor was old and tired. We tried to ask for an upgrade but the only staff on went home early.

A great clean and well equipped room and a reasonably priced hotel with a very nice bar and restaurant on the ground floor, which is centrally located in the town centre with various paid-parking options available nearby. Have stayed here before and will do so again when visiting family in the area.

Vores værelse var virkelig rent og pænt. Der hørtes på ingen måder støj, selvom værelserne ligger ovenpå pubben. Hverken fra festen der forgik i de nedre lokaler eller gadestøj. Personalet var enestående! Vi oplevede forsinkelser på rejsen dertil, og ankom 1,5 time efter sidste check in, men personalet var utrolig imødekommende overfor vores forsinkede ankomst. Hotellet har en rigtigt god placering og ligger centralt i Barrow. Kun 5-10 min fra togstationen.

Vandet fra hanen kan ikke drikkes, men personalet have sørget for 2 flasker vand. Det var ikke helt nok for os (2 personer), så der kan det anbefales at have lidt ekstra med selv.

A good location, within walking distance of most places. Rooms clean and well decorated.

There was a sign saying Not Drinking Water so we asked and were told it was okay boiled, for tea coffee etc but to use bottled water for drinking. Free bottles were provided but I've never encountered this before in England and would not have stayed there if I'd known. I'm diabetic so need to drink plenty of water. Parking not very close by and no sign of security, cameras etc.

Friendly & helpful staff who responded quickly to messages & promptly attended when we had an issue with our shower. The location is good & although the car park is small, we easily found a space. The room was very clean & the bed was comfortable. Having a fridge in the room was handy

We had an issue with the water temperature of the shower in our room, on the first night the water came out scalding hot no matter how the tap was adjusted & a member of staff had to come up to find what he referred to as "the sweet spot" where the temperature was of an acceptable temperature & he acknowledged that there was a known issue with that shower. However, by the next morning the temperature of the shower was (without adjusting the temperature) going from freezing cold to scalding hot. The blinds in the room had a broken slat & the pole that enables them to be opened or closed was missing. Although there was a sink & a kettle, there was a sign above the tap saying that it was not drinking water so we had to use bottled water to make hot drinks. When the lights are turned off at night a green light illuminates the room & it is intrusive. The room was smaller & more basic than the photographs show, however, the decor was good.

This was a perfect location for the wedding we attended at Abbey House Hotel, only an 8 minute drive away. The rooms are large and clean, very good value for money, we love the added bonus of the kitchen facilities with a fridge, plates, cutlery and breakfast bar. The man who checked us in Matt was very attentive and very welcoming.

The high street that the hotel is situated on is pretty run down and there is scaffolding at the front of the building, however don't judge a book by it's cover, beautiful inside. We had a meal at the hotel in the evening and the food wasn't the best as I got satay chicken and it was dry. Very young staff members that don't really have initiative serving or letting us know that we needed to pay at the front of the venue, so we sat around for a while not knowing. There was a DJ on the Saturday night until 12pm this made it very hard to sleep with the vibrations and bass below. Please take this into consideration at time of booking because you can't contact reception after 10pm either. Taxis are a nightmare to book as the signal isn't the best, no Uber around.

The location for this hotel was very central and easy waking access to the restaurants and bars. The room was spacious and had mostly everything needed.

The check in wasn't great, noone in the restaurant, after waiting a while I had to go searching through the back for someone, however when I did find him, he was friendly and helpful. Our room was at the front, so for a Saturday night bring ear plugs, as it was very loud from the bar below. No parking, however there was a car park behind the hotel which was free after 3 and on Sundays and bank holidays

The hotel has a pub underneath. From Saturday to Sunday the pub has throwing a big party, the voice was so loud even the room was shacking. We weren’t able to sleep with the tremendous noise. The room was super hot, even with the heat off, we had to sleep with the window open (listening the noises from outside)

The property itself was excellent. The bar area and selection of food and drink was great. My room was spotless and very comfortable. A small kitchenette rather than a tray of tea and coffee was a nice touch.

For a town centre location there will be outside noise, especially later in the evening. Anticipating it doesn't make it any less tolerable though.

Great room! It was spacious, comfortable and had excellent facilities with a small kitchenette area, fridge and even a separate little desk area for working if required. Located really centrally and a nice bar area downstairs. The free parking to the rear was an added bonus.

Rooms are fabulous, spacious, comfortable. Well equipped, huge bed. We were room 13 top floor so few stairs but on opening the door and seeing the room and view over Barrow worth the climb Staff are so welcoming and helpful

Car park a bit away from the hotel, could have done with some signage towards the hotel but apart from that nothing. Car park was easy to find

The decor was very tasteful, everything was done properly, from lovely carpets, curtains etc, had all the facilities you could need in a room... Downstairs the bar was the social centre of the town, with a great atmosphere, although the noise did not carry through to the room I would happily stay again

Although most of the staff were very very accommodating, and made me feel very welcome, on the first night I went and had dinner in the restaurant, I guess it's fair to say I'm a larger guy, it was Easter, and in a new hotel I treated myself to a nice meal, i was clearly judged by the blond waitress, who was blatantly rude, the service was terrible, no one asked if I was enjoying the meal, but it was looks from the waitress, who more aless through the plate on to the table, with discust, that quite frankly really upset me, and made me feel very unwelcome... I did try the restaurant again the following night, and received very good service from a young brunette lady, The food was exquisite, the room was delightful and I would highly recommend this as a hotel
