The breakfast was excellent, well cooked and served promptly, and the morning team were particularly lovely, friendly and engaged. The bathroom was clean, and the door codes made getting in and out very straightforward. The location is around a 20–25 minute walk from the city centre, which worked well for me. I also really appreciated the TV, which had a great range of on-demand and catch-up options alongside live TV, something you don’t always find in hotels.

Unfortunately, the main issue was the cleanliness of the bed. I stayed in a twin room and, on the made bed, found two unpleasant stains on the bed sheet, one of which appeared to be bodily fluid. I was genuinely horrified to discover this when I returned from my night out. I appreciate that I should perhaps have checked the bed more carefully when I arrived, but this is something I would reasonably expect housekeeping to identify before a room is made available to a guest.

Great location. Up the hill from the main beach and shops but not a problem. Easy access to The Glen and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Easy allocated parking. Good size for a small family. We were 3 (including a 17 year old). Good TV streaming options.

Bathroom a bit dated. Water in Bath slow to drain. No working extracted fan. Overall clean, but floor in lounge/diner area not properly cleaned. Some under-cupboard lights not working in kitchen. One of the single beds, mattress has failed so chance if rolling off.

All exactly as described. Location good, street parking fine. Would stay again if in the area. Staff chatty, friendly and down to earth. Impressed with Cardiff, people are open and friendly, great city. Worth a visit.

The pub/hotel is situated at the end of a quiet leafy lane but also within walking distance of about 6/8 mins off the bustling City Road which has a wonderful bus service . The No 9 bus will take you into Cardiff City Centre within 10 mins and even further into Cardiff Bay and the Sports Village and the other way towards Roath Park and Heath Hospital. My room was modern and spotless. with a good easy to regulate en suite shower and all the usual tea and coffee facilities plus TV.The bedding was pristine and both the pillows and duvet were very comfortable. Although this is also a public house I heard no noise whatsoever to disturb a good night's sleep. For Snooker enthusiasts there is a games room just off the public bar. The staff were so friendly I felt very welcome from the word go. The entry system to the hotel and rooms is also very secure.

The carpet as you enter the hotel side entrance has seen better days.

Great location for a night out in Cardiff, at a good price.

It wasn’t obvious where to check in on arrival, and I only found out I needed to pre-book the breakfast in the morning, so wasn’t able to get any. The information was in the room, but it would have been nice to have been asked by the staff on arrival as I had a quick turnaround to head out and meet people so didn’t read the info till it was too late.

For a single traveler I found the room absolutey perfect. Perfectly new and modern, so simple but so nice ok not in a great part of town but no problem as a single person the room would be my go to room. Because of the ease of everything in the room.

It was a little hot but there was a fan in the room so it worked out. A little noisy from the street as there are only sash windows, but luckily, the street is quiet.

Estaba todo bien. Debajo hay un pub con bastante ruido durante la tarde, pero a la hora de dormir el ruido se acabó.

A localização é ruim: 30min a pé do centro, em um trajeto não muito agradável. Outrossim, o hotel se trata de um bar, com as acomodações nos fundos, o que não consta em nenhum momento quando da reserva, o que, por óbvio, faz com que haja muito barulho - gritos, risadas, cânticos…. Por tudo isso, o custo-benefício resta bem aquém do esperado.

The room was very clean with good furnishings and fittings. There was a fan to help with the extremely hot weather.

Just a small suggestion really. A shelf near the sink in the bathroom and a small bedside cupboard or shelf would have been really helpful. I had to put things on the floor, which is not ideal.

It was a lovely place, room was spotless and beds comfy with everything you might need including a fan (it was a hot day). We were there for a graduation and it was fairly close to Cardiff uni and also the town centre.

They can’t change the location - it’s right in a pretty run down studenty area, so wouldn’t recommend to soneone wanting something a bit more romantic or picturesque but if like us you were here for a purpose or with work it’s absolutely cracking; a real gem of a place.

Heel vriendelijk personeel, goed bed, goede douche en op wandelbare afstand van het centrum af. Het was de 2de keer dat ik hier ben verbleven en ik onthoud hem zeker voor mijn 3de keer!

The staff was very kind and helpful! And there was a very nice shower.

Great location and only a short drive I had to be in the morning

The fact it was away from the city centre, in a residential area of Cardiff meant it was quieter. It had a real community spirit and was popular with the local area. Everyone was friendly, supportive and made sure that you were looked after

The inclusion of a mirror above the plug sockets would have been nice, to do hair and make up.

Unfortunately we were there during the exceptional heatwave in June, so the room got very hot despite using the electric fan.

What I needed a good Hotel, no fuss, relaxed, good location from where I need to be. Very Clean. good breakfast not for for High flyers which is good, a personal touch,

The staff at the hotel were absolutely excellent, especially about the event we was going to, the let us know there were updates to the rules, best way to get there by taxi. The rooms were lovely to stay in and were. There was an extra blanket in the bed as well just incase it was cold. The centre is a short walk away.

The location was bad and the staff were not helpful. I've been traveling for a while now this is probably one of the most uncomfortable places I've stayed at.

As I travelled by car I was looking for a good priced place with parking locally and within 15-20 min walk to the City Centre. This place fully met my expectations. Although entry to hotel / room was via door code I did see a member of staff who was very friendly. Area very good with plenty of amenities within short walking distance

The hotel is situated in a convenient location - not on an arterial road, making the area much quieter during night hours, however within walking distance to the city centre, with public transport also available close by. The staff was very pleasant, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, all the advertised facilities were available, the internet connection was exceptionally good.

It was a bit too hot indoors. However, i stayed there during a heat wave, and the building itself is old and built to retain heat. There was a fan available in the room, therefore this wasn't a big issue.

Twin was two double beds, very clean with great shower and effective fan. Helpful staff replied quickly and were welcoming. Nice to have all the apps on the TV.

Tea / coffee making things would be better on a table away from the beds (if there was another plug so key away from bathroom door) as there wasn’t enough room for the lamp too. We’re given a room away from the pub on request but it was in the road in very hot weather and needed windows all open so it was noisy at night (not hotel’s fault of course) and before 7am when the pub puts the parrot out! So I’d ask for a room facing the rear of the property next time if there is one.

Everything was perfect. The customer care service was flawless and, most of all, the room was extremely clean, quiet and comfortable. Ultra perfect for a few days stay!

The rooms are above a pub which means that it could be very loud on a weekend. I stayed on a weekday and I could hear the noise from the pub until closing time. However, once the pub closed at 10.30pm, it was extremely quiet and I slept really well. Something to bear in mind incase you are planning to book on a Friday or Saturday night.

Barrio residencial tranquilo. Encima de un PUB. Totalmente insonorizado y eso que era un fin de semana. No se escuchaba nada del local de abajo. No tuve interacción propietarios. Salvo tomarme una cerveza en el Pub de abajo de su propiedad. Señora muy amable y agradable. Comunicación de claves antes de llegada perfecta, sin ningún tipo problema. El castillo está a unos 20 minutos andando. Por una calle llena de comercios y pubs. Ambiente agradable y gente sana. Me sentí seguro en todo momento. A diez minutos andando está la estación de tren de QUEEN STREET. En cuatro minutos se llega a la bahía. En cuanto a alrededores a 5 minutos andando hay tiendas y autobuses que comunican con zona castillo. No recuerdo si era habitación individual o matrimonio. Contaba 7 enchufes. En el cuarto de baño había dos enchufes de clavija formato europeo un detalle por su parte, pues no necesitas adaptador.

Very easy access to the room with clear instructions. The room was simple, but clean and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom. Only 20min walking to the center and with stores and places nearby for food.

You don’t have to walk the bar to get to your room, plus it was clean and spacious.

Avoid. Unless you like being treated disrespectfully and spoken to in a degrading manner. The room itself is clean and spacious, however the sound proofing is absolutely terrible, you will hear everything from the bar in the evening if you are anywhere near the main stairs like I was. You will also hear everything from your neighbouring rooms. Which is where my problem came in. My last night of my stay, I was trying to rest and relax, knowing I had a long drive the next day. To which during the evening I could hear everyone’s conversation at the bar and the several animal noises. Once the bar closed, that noise went however then my neighbouring room started playing their TV ridiculously loud. On the information sheet it says to keep noise down at night and to ring this number with any complaints, queries or issues. To which I did. The woman (who I believe to be the manager) spoke to me incredibly dismissively and disrespectfully after I explained the situation, in an argumentative and condescending manner. She did not help the situation at all and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I ended up having to put toilet paper in my ears to block the noise to even try and get any kind of sleep. Because of this I ended up going home the next morning early, because of my tiredness and just wanting to get some actual sleep. I have complained via booking.com, to which the manager then messaged me via text. Not apologising for her rudeness, the fact that I left early or that I did not get any decent sleep all she had to say was “We acknowledge that we try our best at all times. The staff will be dissapointed .Regards Crofts Hotel” if trying their best is talking to a customer the way they spoke to me, I hate to think what their worst is. The area as well doesn’t feel particularly safe or welcoming, I was quite worried for the safety of my car parked infront of the hotel. Wish I stayed absolutely anywhere else now.

Good value, pleasant room, clean and renovated, everything I needed for an overnight stay. The bar on the ground floor was beneficial. Reasonable walking distance from Queens Street station and city centre. No meal required

Despite having an en suite bathroom, I would almost be more inclined to call this a Guest House or an Inn, rather than a hotel per se, as it is located in the rooms above a pub. Almost everything is done virtually (you're given a door code, etc), so there's no check-in desk, but the facilities are either very new or very newly rennovated. Despite there being a pub downstairs, it's either a low-key one or the soundproofing is immaculate, as I didn't hear a peep the whole time I was there. I had a room in the eaves, which I always enjoy. The shower was lovely; instead of a window, I had a skylight that opened, which was very cool, and I slept very well. This is a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre, but easily reached by bus, and there are lots of amenities like corner shops and a Chinese restaurant very close by, to say nothing of the pub downstairs. I certainly recommend for other solo travelers.

It was a bit of a surprise to see resident parking signs where I was told by staff to park out on the street outside the hotel + I was expecting to wake up to a ticket or my car having been towed away. However, all was well :)

Can't recommend Crofts Hotel enough. The rooms were quite clean and well situated. Beds super comfortable and bathrooms updated/new and clean. But the staff are what makes this place an absolute delight. I had some medical issues during my stay and had to extend my stay a few times and the ladies here went out of their way to accommodate me. They called taxis and helped me with luggage as well. I can't recommend Crofts Hotel enough.
