Scenic Hotel Southern Cross

Comfy and quiet with friendly, helpful staff

The buffet breakfast was good, staff where friendly and helpful

The bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom could use an upgrade

Good location

Staff when being greeted looked like we were a bit of a hassle but when checking out staff were fine (different person)

Location

Cleanliness there was stains on the bath robes and the duvet cover , the glasses had water stains on them was awful

Clean comfortable room

Did not like having to pay extra for parking..$25 a night..so $50 extra that we did not realize, and for that reason we won't be staying here again

Everything. Male receptionist very friendly and helpful on arrival. Bath was very much appreciated after an exceptionally long day. Location was good too.

Paying for parking. When I checked out the female receptionist didn't advise/or offer to validate parking ticket. I had to get up to barrier to read this and then park and go back inside to get this done.

Staff and reception were very friendly. I think pricing is a bit on the high

I think some of the room decor is a bit outdated. We did get not a lot of coffee sachets. The ones we had were decafe which we don't drink. Having a microwave would be an advantage. But nice and close to restaurants which was close that was great.

Room was excellent, heating you could turn off, a window you could open for fresh air. All things that other hotels lack.

The pillows were very hard.

Great place and breakfast

The bar meals

Gym has great view and staff always amazing

Convenient and comfortable

Close proximity to town, clean room

Lack of knowledge from the reception staff and very little assistance. You would like to think the staff would advise you to validate your parking ticket before checking out.

Just shouldve taken my own pillows

Pillows

Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Carpets in the corridors were very old and detracted from the overall appearance

Close to city cbd and restaurants

Tired decor in room and bathroom especially, hated the shower over bath.

Great location, friendly staff, clean warm rooms.

Great location, staff were very friendly, room was nice.

Staff were lovely, and the location was perfect

The room wasnt great. The bathroom wasnt great and very poorly set up. The toilet roll holder is in the most inconvenient spot, the tiny bench above makes it near impossible to put toiletries on it without them falling off. We could hear every time the neighboring room was in there bathroom and using water. The carparking was poorly set up. With having a larger vehicle, we couldnt use the underground parks, and there was very limited spots outside. When leaving we were one of 4 or 5 vehicles stuck at the carpark arm, because the tickets were not lifting it, and the staff member inside was too busy checking out other guests

Handy to where we wanted to be, staff were obliging and price okay for the room - couldnt expect much more I guess although we paid for a superior suite..

Continuous hum of the fan in the bathroom, unsure if it was only meant to on when the light turned on but on all time?. Bed had a huge hump in the middle, never experienced one like that before. Shower over the bath ? unsure how elderly people would have handled that climbing over the side of the bath to gain entry . It was very narrow as well being in the bath. TV was awful, very poor reception, hazy and unclear and hard to watch if you werent straight front on.

Staff were so nice.

Not much really

Location is good

Noisey and outdated

Good Bed

Lovely clean room with a view of the harbour. Totally recommend

Amazing place, friendly staff

Central city location Excellent facilities including Sky TV channels I managed to watch NZ Warriors game when I returned back to the hotel Looking forward to breakfast

Posizione centrale , parcheggio privato, cortesia del personale e grandezza della stanza. Era su due piani ed aveva un delizioso balconcino vista mare

Suggerirei di riscaldare la stanza prima dell’arrivo degli ospiti in inverno

Was clean and great bed. Great location too

The staff were friendly great location.

Sehr gute Raumaufteilung, viel Platz, gute Ausstattung und Lage. Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Fitnessstudio war auch sehr gut!

Nichts!

It was nice and comfy tidy and close to everything highly recommended

N/A

Friendly staff, cosy warm room and lovely interior.

Hard to get a park off street to check in if they are all full on arrival, but paid for overnight parking onsite and that is good.

Comfy bed Good shower. Plenty of space

Na

Great staff, location, and beds

Starting to look a bit tired

Convenient location, off street parking, and good size rooms

Beds could be reviewed for replacement

Room was better than expected. Bed very comfortable.

Location and helpful staff

The staff were very friendly and helpful

There was rubbish under our beds ear plus, hair ties.

Breakfast was pretty stock standard the bacon was average stuff sometimes cheap isint always the best. ( im a butcher). There wasn't any alternative barista milk to have with my coffee only cows and I can't have it. Plenty of variety tho.

The street noise is terrible during the night.

Location

Noise

Excellent breakfast, Good size and comfortable rooms.

No USB ports

So central and great big room

Nothing

All great and the lighting works if you are just resting but a bit dull if you are reading etc

All good

Clean an good front of house great young man

Central, and warm

Expensive and awkward parking.not advertised that parking was extra . Also some road noise from boy racer cars and motorcycles, that disrupted sleep.

Parfait pour un séjour d'une semaine tres bien situé ! Juste à coté du centre ville pour les amateurs de casino il y en a un dans l'hotel Personnel très à l'écoute

peut être un peu de bruit car ca donne sur un carrefour

good location

Location good Room good and comfortable

Jug didn’t work

Location

It lacked soul

It was warm and secure, beds were always tidy and towels changed. Walking distance from town.

Some of the young staff lacked customer service, didn’t really want to help. Paid Parking was out doors. Breakfast was not the best for the price paid, young staff did really seem like they wanted to help.

Room was very warm upon arrival - I really like how the details are managed such as making sure the room was comfortable and warm

I used to love the little card that awaited me addressed to me personally alongside a Whitakers chocolate bar. That said a lot to me

Clean, newer interior, comfy beds and pillows, good size TV screen

I don't think the heat was working properly so it was a bit chilly at night in July. Also, Saturday night produces a fair amount of traffic noise which the windows don't manage well.

Breakfast was good

Stains on drapes, bathroom had flaking paint and what looked like mould in the bathroom, and average ventilation

In need of major reno.

Spacious rooms, friendly & helpful staff

Rooms could use a light refresher (although everything was perfectly clean)
