The room had a washer and dryer which was great as we had been travelling for a bit. It was a bit small but we were only using it for sleep so it worked.

Again the $200 damages bond..as I checked out I was advised, very curtly, that I knew about it...I didn't have the opportunity to reply because the receptionist started checking out another client....my response..I only knew about the bond after I had booked and paid for the room which was non refundable! It's not evident from the offset... The hotel needs additional sound proofing because I could hear every door slam on my floor and conversations and the shower running in the adjacent room... No evidence of any recycling?

In end I said we will find another hotel..please refund $$ . Room not made up.until complained,
Washer/ dryer was not functional. Ski dryer room is not a proper ski dryer room. Just a room with air-conditioning. 8 hrs was still saturated. In end dried faster in our room.

Room service was average with cleaning each day, for staying 12 nights and not receiving a vacuum and full clean after 1 week stay could be an improvement by the staff. Cleaner walked into the room on check out day with out knocking probably just assuming we have left when check out was 11AM.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026We stayed at the Ramada for three nights and really enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient, within walking distance of the town centre and many attractions. Our room was clean and had beautiful views of The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. Having a washing machine and dryer was very useful too. The restaurant and bar were great, especially when we got hungry after 8:30 pm and could easily order a pizza for a late-night snack. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The only downside was the limited hotel parking, so we had to park on the street.

Reviewed Jul 27, 2026Ramada Central Hotel should tick all boxes for travelers for its location, room facilities, front office staff service and quick check in and out process. Bus stops for both directions were within 2 to 3 minutes' walk. The tradeoff is, the studio rooms were facing the busy Frankton Road which serves Frankton (Airport) and Queenstown CBD. From the bed, heavy traffic of bus, coach, lorry and pedestrians were just 10m away, so it is not for light sleeper, especially during morning hours. Housekeeping was average as floor had not been cleaned for 6 nights. Front office staff service was good and responsive. Walking to Queenstown Central was easy (downhill) but the return trip could be tough due to the very steep slope back to the hotel. Choosing rooms facing the lake is recommended to enjoy the most in this hotel.

What made my experience exceptional though, were Benni and George at the front desk. They were incredibly responsive, welcoming and personable. From the moment I arrived they made me feel at home and their friendly approachable attitude made all the difference. It's people like Benni and George who make the difference between a good hotel and an exceptional stay. They are a real credit to the hotel and they're the main reason I'll be choosing to stay at Ramada Queenstown again.
