Amazing location and friendly staff. Beds were very comfy
Showers were a bit dated and there wasn’t a jacuzzi even though it was listed as having one which was disappointing as it was part of the reason we booked it
Location. Buffett breakfast. Scenery. Ski equipment storage and drying room. Staff were lovely.
Parking cost. Was a bit run down could do with a refurb of the rooms.
Toilet roll position was a little inconvenient.
Great location
Rooms could do with an upgrade/refresh.
The room was great. We had a lovely view from the balcony of town, the lake and skyline. The location was amazing!
The walls are thin and we could hear everything the people next door were saying (until 5.30am most mornings!) I thought maybe some stools or a bench seat on the balcony would have been good too as it was lovely out there in the afternoon sun
Location
The rooms were quite tired and dated and didn’t have everything you would expect for the price and name. I found the service was lacking, though the staff were friendly, they weren’t very forth coming with any assistance.
It is in a perfect position in the stunning Queenstown. An easy walk to so many restaurants and activities. Despite this it is quiet and very close to Queenstown Gardens which is a beautiful park with a lovely walk with views across the lake and to the town.
Breakfast buffet was great. Location excellent. We paid extra to upgrade our room which was a good choice.
For the price of the room, charging people additional for parking seemed excessive.
Location was very good, walking distance to most things in Queenstown
Limited parking, very basic room for the price
Location is amazing and very friendly staff, kids got a free kiwi toy when we arrived that made their day
Beds were not comfortable, felt like they needed replacing
The location is right on the waterfront and in central Queenstown so very handy to everything. As it is on the waterfront it is flat so you dont have to walk up the hill at the end of the day like you do with lots of other hotels in Queenstown. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast had a good variety of options. The room was clean.
The shower curtain stuck onto your body in the shower. I've never experienced that before with showers that have curtains so it was a bit odd.
Location
probably looking a little tired
The location is fantastic.
For the price of the hotel it is dated and in need of a refresh. Our bed was out of shape, with a mound in the middle of it and the shower head was broken. You can tell it’s very tired with dirty, stained carpet, lots of marks and dints in walls. Some power point covers coming off the wall. I expected something in better condition given it was a Novotel. However, understand the location is what we were drawn too and it was in an excellent spot.
Great location and friendly staff
Room a little outdated but comfortable
I BOOKED DIRECT WITH ACCOR NOVATEL BECAUSE BOOKING.COM TOLD ME IT WAS FULLY BOOJED
BOOKING.COM YOLD ME NO ROOMS AVAILABLE!!!!
Location
Shower curtains in the bathroom by downmarket
location good
reception staff not friendly and not helpful, previous booked for a sofa bed, both email to booking and hotel before check in, and reception insist charge extra, after received delay email from hotel manager confirmed " extra bed included in my booking " same reception lady thats English word issue and may be after manager seen she already charge ....... long argument ....... It not big dollar but bad attitute and rude and not care at all, distroy holiday and I made formal complaint to hotel direct, if not refundto same credit card for extra charge, then as we come to Queenstown often then no more accomadtion any more at novetel.
Location
The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable

Location
Easy check in, friendly staff at cafe, comfy bed.
For a Novotel the place feels dated and rooms very basic.
The location is great as its so central
The hotel and rooms very run down The fitness centre is a joke and way too small for a hotel of that size. The spa was not operational
This was our 3rd stay at Novotel Lakeside Queenstown and we enjoy the location of the hotel and staff are always friendly, with rooms neat and comfortable.
It was disappointing that there is no monitoring or control of noise levels within the accommodation areas, the only negative for our stay was the noise created by children being allowed to play and run up and down the hallway with no supervision of their parents as well as people who think it is acceptable to arrive back at the hotel at late hours talking and laughing loudly in the hallways waking us and other guests who were asleep. This occurred during our last stay at the Novotel, however we thought it may have been a one off and therefore booked again for this trip. It appears that this may be the norm? Maybe the hotel can put up reminders for people to be mindful of noise and children are to remain with parents and not play in the hallways of the accommodation areas.
Location Breakie
No spa or sauna No airport pickup
Amazing location and proximity to restaurants, shops and right on the lake. Staff polite and friendly.
Our room was tiny and very run down. 3 different strips of carpet in the room, a huge discoloured crack in the bathroom sink and the bath (shower base) was marked with what looked like a previous long term sticky shower mat. If you have a car, I would recommend booking parking in advance as it was booked out. The free street parking that the staff suggested was jam packed and we were unable to find a spot, so we had to pay $7 an hour in-front of the hotel.
we like the toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, beds, breakfast, location
no parking available, one chair only but we were 3, slippers, the floor is cold, we did not able to re-heat ( no microwave available) or food, we ate cold dinner,
The location was great. Right in the centre of everything.
NA
Location is amazing and it was good value
Staff appear to hate their jobs.
The bed was comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The location was central and handy to get to and from restaurants of an evening.
The shower was not clean. The grout between the tiles had built up soap scum that was easily removed with a bit of friction and a cloth. The shower was small and uncomfortable to stand in (shower over bath). The added parking cost of $50 a day is expensive. The spa was out of order and this was not communicated to us at check in or prior. The spa was one of the main reasons I booked this particular hotel.
Staff were very friendly and great location .
WE paid for an upgrade, but our friends' normal room was bigger had a better view and better bathroom WTF?? Also, the spa was out of order.
The location couldn’t have been better and the valet parking was great although comes at an additional cost.
The room was quite old and run down and the fabric shower curtain was a bit gross and smelly. It’s was also a bit noisy, you could hear doors slamming and people from other rooms.
the room was much smaller than i anticipated. photos online were deceiving.
I would like bottled water provided in the room
The location is excellent. Close to the town centre with lots of food option around the property.
There isn’t any power outlet next to the bed side so cannot put the phone charger next to the bed.
又舊又暗⋯⋯員工也是面無表情
The only positives for me were the location, comfortable bed and well meaning staff. However…
Tired ground floor room with dated electrics, a shower-over-bath shower curtain that kept sticking to me, a door to the room with the lock chain missing, plastic toilet seat….just not good enough for the price paid.
Location great, staff friendly.
Room was old and dated, quite expensive for what was included. There was no room in hotel for families to relax and play games.
The location was great.
The hotel appears tired. The shower curtain smelt musty, the wind howled through the closed window. The mattresses need replacing. The staff were great at putting a board under the mattress and an extra topper which made for a restful comfortable sleep. Also got a lovely cheeseboard from the duty manager in apology to the inconvenience of a bad night.
Didn’t do breakfast. Upstairs food awful. Coffee was good.
My room 367 was very noisy because of the two nights the people above stayed. I called the front desk (very helpful) on Sunday night and I think they addressed the issue. Saturday night had to take a sleeping pill.
Perfect location. Great breakfast buffet.
Tired. Paid parking.

Location, staff and laundry room facilities
Bathroom tub was ?rusty and shower curtain mouldy.
Staff were amazing
Breakfast had great options. Also Joshua was amazing he was great with our 3 year old, really kind and helpful
Check in took a bit too long, as they were sorting a window fixing in our room, wish they would have communicated earlier so we could look for other alternatives.
Great location, comfortable rooms with nice outlook
A little bit dated
The location is awesome, everything is right on your doorstep.
The rooms are underwhelming to say the least, very outdated. The beds push away from the wall very easy which is strange and the beds are also very small. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly, there was hair in the bath / shower. Overall the bathrooms are in average condition, cracks through the basin, stained bath tub, etc. The rooms are lacking in providing added comfort - mini bar isn’t stocked, no slippers, no nice handwash, soaps etc none of the little things you might find in the bathroom that give a nice touch. Also, there was only one plug on the far side of the bed (two beds) so meant you couldn’t easily access things on charge from the bed. Missing bedside table. The balcony had no chairs so you couldn’t sit outside and enjoy the view. For the price of the hotel, I would hope for more.
The open fire place

eedback on our stay – Novotel Queenstown Lakeside Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the location of the hotel is fantastic. However, there were two areas that left us disappointed and that I believe deserve attention. Firstly, on Thursday evening, when we returned to our room to have a shower, we found the hot water was only lukewarm. We tried turning the temperature up further, but it appeared to have reached its maximum setting. The water simply would not get any hotter, making the shower quite uncomfortable, particularly on a cold Queenstown winter evening. My main concern, however, relates to the hotel’s response during the 5.9 magnitude earthquake on the evening of 16 July. The earthquake struck at around 9:15 pm, on what was likely one of the busiest nights of the week, with the hotel close to full occupancy. During the event, there appeared to be no clear emergency response or direction from staff. Guests came out of their rooms visibly shaken and unsure what to do. Many gathered outside looking to staff for reassurance and guidance, but staff themselves appeared uncertain. I asked one staff member what we should do, and she honestly replied that she didn’t know. My family and I were staying on the ground floor, so we immediately moved outside and away from the building. While outside, I noticed an elderly couple making their way down the stairwell. They were too frightened to use the lift, and the final few steps were difficult for them. Thankfully, my nieces were able to help them safely down. The following morning at checkout, the receptionist asked how our stay had been. I shared my concerns and asked her, “If another earthquake happened right now, would you know what to do?” She replied that she had never been trained and genuinely didn’t know the correct procedure. I then asked whether she knew what to do in the event of a fire, to which she answered yes. That highlighted the issue for me.
Staff were professional, friendly and accommodating
The handbasin in room 232 is cracked, and it looks like it has been cracked for sometime. The toilet seat is broken. Our room on the second day at 4pm was still not cleaned. The bar area in the foyer was cold, one small fireplace with 3 chairs, needs improvement.
room was well located, great options for places to work. very busy location
was quite loud at night from outside at the back
