Beach was very nice but so many paid for chairs all in front was a little much. I liked the singers that played outside, and loved the smores that were given out by the pool.

The room- TERRIBLE- i paid $400 / night and the room was like i stayed at a $98 Motel. Super tight and small.

The property was dated. Upon arrival and check-in my bathroom was NASTY and I was given a different room. My a/c was n it working in the new room but I alerted maintenance and they fixed it quickly. The beds are rather hard. In general the staff is friendly- speaking as you pass by. Towels were a struggle and I was told by the housekeeping supervisor they knew it is a problem and they were in the middle of working it out with a new company. One of the elevators broke while I was in it but they repaired quickly. All in all- the property served its purpose (have lodging) but I would not recommend or stay here again.

Enjoyed the pool and the back area by the beach.

Paid parking mandatory but no assigned parking. Bars close too early! Pool bar should stay open as long as pool is open instead of closing before dark. Late check out should be able to be requested at the time of check in and NOT the day of check out so you can relax that last day! Staff also not friendly at the front desk!

The heated pool on the stormy days when it was actually chilly. Loved the water fall, but that pool was FREEZING. I didn’t drink, but some in my group did, and the missed drinks were very costly-$18-20. Loved the hot tub as well. She’s 4 and over can get in it and it was a life saver when tropical storm Bertha was making it chilly in July! The breakfast buffet was very good. The staff was very nice. House-keeping was good. There were activities for the kids, like a magic show, “live” mermaid, etc. Lots of families for kids to play with. I lived the live music/d.j. Music. The atmosphere is a dream. To me, it made up for sucky room. I’d stay again in a heartbeat if it wasn’t that they are a money pit. (See below).

Well, we were “floored” to find out rooms were so small (we weren’t the only ones!) it costs so much to stay there and then they sprung on us when we arrived that for 2 rooms we owed $500 deposit (total for 2 rooms) when my balance said I owed zero. I wanted the manager, but they were all over run with long lines for check in. And my husband didn’t wanna “push it.” So, they said it’s refundable. 1.) WE HAVEN’T RECEIVED OUR REFUND FOR DEPOSIT AND IT’S BEEN OVER A MONTH!!! 🤬 We did NOT trash the rooms in ANY WAY!! 2.) Although we did sleep GREAT, the room was so small, did not face the ocean, No view of the ocean, etc. Be VERY careful booking your room. Also, the rooms facing Oceanside are WAY more expensive and still small rooms. 3.) the shower only had a half glass, which doesn’t pull closed, which we didn’t like. I did like the shower was a HUGE square, that was cool.

Atmosphere was unbelievable, the location is excellent, rooms could have been little cleaner the shower head better flow, the value for my room was ok I had the pool at opening the door so it good. Planning to coming back next year.

Our AC did not work correctly and I don’t like the fact that we had to pay for parking I have stated at this faculty for many years and this is the first time I’ve ever had to pay for parking. I think that’s just being greedy. Plus, you weren’t guaranteed to park by your room even when paying for parking.

Great location and beautiful beach, but the hotel itself was a little disappointing for the price. The pools and ocean view were great, and you really can’t beat being right on the beach. But check-in took about 35 minutes, the room floors were very dirty, guest services were difficult to reach, and we even found a fake fingernail stuck to one of the pool towels. The staff also seemed overwhelmed and possibly understaffed. Overall, it’s a fun beachfront property with good amenities, but the cleanliness and service need improvement, especially for what you’re paying.

Location is amazing. Right on beach and accessible to clubs/eateries in town. Atmosphere awesome. Grotto pool is one of a kind. Beach experience excellent. Restaurant food and service was excellent. Disappointments: 1. Hotel room was tired and dirty. Shower pan was dingy/stained. Cushions on porch chairs were disgusting. Mattresses were uncomfortable. Draperies were hard to pull. Coffee maker did not work well. Pictures below. 2. Value was poor. Very expensive for dingy room. Food was expensive but liquor was absolutely outrageous. Criminally expensive. 3. Live music could be improved 4. Operating hours for food trucks were a joke. 12-5 only. At least open at 11.

I don’t like the fact that you have to pay for the chairs at the beach, leaving poor space for people. The drinking problem at the pool gets out of control, and there is no body supervising. Tha room was to small, and old.

The location was perfect. About 20 min from airport and an easy Uber to get to Destin within ten minutes. The atmosphere was good. Dj at the pool sometimes. The event calendar said live music every night 6-9 pm and we only saw a band setting up one of the three nights there. They do charge a resort fee upon arrival which I didn’t feel was worth it. The towel stand wasn’t open both times I tried to get a towel, no music as scheduled, and the pool was dirty. The hot tub barely filled. The drinks were insanely priced, too. 17$+ for a cocktail at the beach bar and 30$ for a bucket at the Grotto bar. Could never afford to even catch a buzz and they didn’t want you to bring your own alcohol onsite. The room was decent. I would stay again over all but now I know what to expect.

My husband and I love the ocean and this was a perfect location for us to experience and look/listen to those ocean waves. I can't swim a lick but I love the water. We actually got to walk far out in the ocean, sit and enjoy the sun rays. We took pictures holding jellyfish (not the stinging ones). We REALLY loved our stay.

The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and very engaging. Every time I visit Fort Walton Beach this is the only resort I will stay at.

Ice machine did not work - no ice. Broke for 2 days. No one fixed. TV would NOT STREAM. Lame shows on regular tv. Sign said no outside alcohol; however, there was mucho alcohol brought in and many, many coolers sitting on the side of the pool. People had glass in the pool. People weren’t watching their children. The food out by the ocean was closed. The air blew too cold. The plumbing in the shower wasn’t well thought out.

The word resort in the name is misleading. It’s a beach club, not a resort. Charging a resort fee is crazy because there are no resort services. No luggage carts were even available. The room was similar to a 2 star hotel room. The shower barely worked. At checkout time, 11:00, they turned off the electricity to the room. We arrived at 1 am and asked for late check out. They said call at 7 am to ask so I set an alarm. They then said they were sold out for the day, but I could try to use resort pass. com to pay for a day room (after already paying for a room and a pet fee for the room for the night). I’m not sure why they would tell me to use that website to pay for it if they were sold out already anyway. They were very rude about it. We did like the swim up room, but won’t stay there agin just for that.

Music to loud in mornings from pool yoga could not understand room service tv would not work service man come up n left said he was going to go get help NEVER came back checkin line wait 40 mins everyone was complaining need more workers at checkin time no dressers in room have to live out of suitcases $1880 for 5 days n no dressers ridiculous rooms need to updated been coming there for years n no discounts. sorry but I never give reviews but needed to on this one basically all ur paying for is the swim up bar with outrageous prices 4 drinks $68 will b going else where in future

Overall it was a good experience, location was good. Resort was clean. They don’t offer any free coffee or water in the lobby. Food was expensive at the restaurant.

Front desk staff was very friendly. The outside grounds and indoor areas are nicely kept. However the bathroom shower of our room was dirty and so were the floor in the room.and bathroom. We also had to keep asking for wash cloths every day although the staff changed the towels. Overall the stay was okay and the staff were friendly.

Great location and reasonable prices. Room was clean and comfortable. Pools were very nice. Pool towel service could be better in that towels were not available when service opened at 9 am. Then, some days, very worn, old, stained towels were provided. Pool Cantina was awesome and very reasonable. Breakfast buffet was $25 if not part of your room and not worth it. Lots of local places to eat at, within walking distance if no car. Shuttle to airport is $38 on way per person, but Uber is about $20. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Check in is LONGGG. Even with 3 people working checkin it took 45 minutes. BUT, with all of that, I would definitely come back.

The hotel was no better than three star Hilton inn . Because the property is right next to the beach and in a good area , they have expensive prices , but the quality of the hotel is not that great . Breakfast was not free. It was almost 40 dollars for a buffet that was pretty unexceptional. It’s equal to a free breakfast buffet at an average hotel . They pinky pinch you for everything. We paid for parking , they tried to charge me 16 dollars for waters we didn’t use. The facility was janky to say the least .

The beds were slanted at a slight angle it was weird, made you feel like you would roll off.

Location and the comfort of the bedding was good.

There were a few updates made to the interior to make it look nice, but it looked more as rush jobs than putting care into it. The 1st floor hallways could definitely use an upgrade. As a first impression of the 1st floor, it did not make me feel comfortable about how the rest of the building was. On the first day of our stay, we noticed a kohls tag behind the bathroom door. We left it there through the week just as a test to see how clean the rooms get…. It was still there on our last day and we did have cleaning done every other day. Oh and almost $100/day for 3 beach chairs is a bit ridiculous, unfortunately we did not drive so we could have our own.

Loved the location and proximity of the beach, and other attractions, fireworks every Wednesday from the pier, live music every night from 6-9 pm. Will definitely stay again. The only downside is we were on the second floor and there is no elevators and we had to carry heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs.

Our room being on the corner of the corridor where the cleaning carts and supply closets are was not great ! Every morning we had a cart in front of our room blankets and towels being tossed from above to down below. You had to dodge them and some made the carts but some did not. Bags of garbage were tossed below as well and piled up for hours. The rooms could be a lot cleaner regardless. But mostly the pricing of the hotel is not compatible with the quality. Yes it's located right on the beach but the beds are small you cannot bring your own cooler to the pool because they have their own bar's. There are too many buildings in the patio/pool area. I miss the Volkswagen van and beetle that were once parked in the front they're not there anymore.. We had a room with a pool view and balcony upper floor in 2022 it was very nice and clean large bathroom and shower the vanity and sink were in the restroom. But the room we had this year 2026 was not very nice and not very clean the beds were smaller the bathroom smaller the shower smaller the vanity and sink was outside the restroom and it was on the opposite end of the pool. The Internet hardly worked and the TV channels were in and out. The fees of 16$ for parking per day were not mentioned until the day of arrival which is pointless because you sometimes had to park in a parking garage. In our room there were two bottles of water these are not complimentary these are $8 each and the "do not disturb door placard falls off all of the time and it's $5 to replace it.

Gulf front room, nice balcony with chairs and table. Easy access to all areas of resort. Ramp to the beach, which made it easy to get to beach with our wagon/chairs/umbrella. Nice staff. Clean. Cooler ice provided. Within walking distance to additional shops/restaurants and Gulfarium, but nice on-site options for eating/bars also.

Very hard to get room at a comfortable temp - too hot or too cold. It was nice, but I still thought a little overpriced. I've been to other hotels/motels, that were cheaper, that offered complimentary beach chairs. Paying for parking on the property, I thought, was ridiculous.

I liked the breakfast, the location to the beach and the large pool was nice.

The room was ok but I wouldn't say it is "resort quality" for what I paid it was just a hotel room with 2 beds. I'm in the hospitality industry so I tend to notice things that other people don't. The rock waterfall really needs to be pressure washed as do the chairs around the pool. I asked one of the employees if we can put charges on our room with our bracelet she didn't know that answer. I feel like that is something every employee should know. Other than that is was nice.

The kids were jumping off the bridge at the pool. I know you can't stop that. The 1st room we had was a courtyard view. It was pretty. The bathroom in that room was just enough room for 1 person. It would be tight if I was a bigger person. The shower sprayed water out on to the floor. The ocean view room (we paid extra) was great.more room overall.

The hotel is quite dirty, and the walls need to be painted. The rooms feel more like a one-star motel than a hotel. The pools are dirty and clearly need maintenance. The gym is also far from the main area, and all of the equipment is old and outdated.

We loved that we were so close to the beach area , restaurants were within walking distance, food trucks were set up in front of the beach . The pool areas were amazing

Only bad thing i have to say about our stay is when we checked into our room, the bed covers , curtains , and pillows had mold on them . We quickly told housekeeping and they exchanged everything out with new quickly.

When checking out, one front desk lady was laughing at us when she told us we had to pay an extra fee of $10 just for sitting next to people from different rooms. The same lady was also rude to my older brother when checking in. The young lady that checked us in was so kind!

The rainfall shower head was the only complaint I had. I wish there was a different option so you could get clean without drowning your entire head.

The inclusive breakfast was good. What made it great was two exceptional staff .....Lucy and George. Great service and very warm friendly 😊 excellent at their jobs. The nightly entertainment was great as well. Loved the live bands.

To be more cautious and accommodating of persons with food allergies. The cost of meals was outrageous.

They have two things that I did not like . The first for sites and umbrella in beach you should pay . They are hotel facilities why we as a gust there should pay for that . The second one for front beach hotel , they just putted 3 towels , we were 4 . And I think they should put more towels in rooms.

I enjoyed the different performances that were provided. Musical and the fire dancers were great. We enjoyed the heated pool and the food was very good at the cantina and the sea oats restaurant.

Our room was below performance in every way. We paid for the courtyard view queen suite with a private patio. When we arrived they gave us a room that didn't match the reservation. However, I should I have kept that room. The room we were moved to was horrific. It was very outdated and it was falling apart. There was one chair in the corner of the room that was quite disgusting and it had nothing to screw the chair together. When we put our bag down the back of the chair came a loose. It didn't have any screws in it and it was super rusty. Also, there was a bit of a bug problem as we found big cock roaches. Also, the toliet wouldn't flush well and the water pressure was non-existent. We have stayed at the Island before and we enjoyed our stay as we were in the back bldg the beach house facing the beach. Those rooms are updated and very comfortable.i couldn't believe what i witnessed on the courtyard. To top it off the water drain that disperse the rain flooded our patio constantly.
