Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel

The location was convenient for our stay and the hotel itself has good facilities. Some members of staff were helpful when we needed assistance.

Unfortunately, the overall standard fell well below what we expected from a Sheraton. Our first-night meal was very poor, with food that was tough and inedible, meaning both the adults and children ended up going to bed without a proper dinner. Housekeeping was also disappointing — bottled water was not replenished unless we repeatedly called, the room did not appear to be vacuumed properly, surfaces were dusty and there was chipped paint around the bath. Having to continually chase basic housekeeping requests made the stay frustrating, particularly when travelling with young children. For the price and the Sheraton brand, we expected a much higher level of cleanliness, attention to detail and service.

Very comfortable beds, room had everything, including shower pressure. Also requested a room with a view, and was actually given one, so thanks to the staff!!

Couldn't figure out the TV...

The buffet breakfast is very underwhelming and feels like an afterthought. A few cereals with bacon, eggs and a couple of other warm items is quite frankly hilarious and insulting given the price. Getting the price taken off was also a palava. The front of house staff, especially the younger ones seem like they lack basic hotel management training and customer service skills. They did the bare minimum every time e.g. when we checked-in we clearly needed a trolly for the suitcases, but no effort was made to help. Organising a taxi for our departure was also a joke. It seemed as if staff were reluctant to want to do it. We needed a larger car for multiple large suitcases, hence I wanted to book it ahead of time. Our departure was early morning, and I wanted to make sure it was on time. They finally rang the firm to book it. However, a separate staff member I interacted with the following morning had no information about it. There must have been no notes added or handover done. It’s the laziest brand of hotel I have ever experienced in my life. The staff don’t seem to have any genuine energy or willingness to help. Never again.

Generally nice rooms, located close to Guildford Town Centre. Beds are comfortable but the bathrooms feel a bit dated, especially with the tub. More on par with a motel or something even cheaper.

Beautiful rooms and views. Great pool and hot tub area.

Zimmer war geräumig und sehr sauber. Ebenso die Anlage. Die Lage war zentral, das Frühstück nicht überladen aber sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich!

Leider war das Poolareal untertags wegen Streicharbeiten nicht gut benutzbar oder sagen wir eher ungemütlich wenn daneben gestrichen wird. Das könnte man auch in der Nebensaison machen

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff and a room with a great view of the mountains. Breakfast buffet was fresh and tasty, if a bit steep.

Nothing comes to mind that needs improvement! First time visitors should note that it's not exactly close to downtown Vancouver, despite having it in the hotel name...it's a minimum 45 minute drive.

Air conditioning unit was actually in the bedroom and it made an incredible noise when running so we didn’t use it but it was a really warm night.

Air conditioning I believe might be not only faulty but dangerous since the units which should have been outside were in the bedroom. We reported the issue.

Parkgarage groß. Personal freundlich. Ausstattung gut. Konnten sogar schon um 11 Uhr einchecken.

Parkgarage kostenpflichtig, wenn nicht Marriott-Mitgliedschaft. 2 Kopfpolster, beide gleich hoch und hart. Duschkopf verkalkt, Wasserstrahl daher diffus. Frühstück enttäuschend für ein Sheraton: wenig Auswahl, kein Aufschnitt (Käse, Schinken, Wurst etc.), kein Ahornsirup, billige Marmelade. Hätten uns das Geld für's Frühstück wirklich sparen können!

The only thing I found wrong with my room i had no small table and a compfy chair. Other than that there was nothing wrong.

We stay 2 nights and I feel that the first night they don’t change the bed sheets. It might someone stayed the night before and they didn’t not change the bedding. They should change a new bedding for new customers.

Washroom, the bathtub had a significant amount of wear, the tubs white color coating was wearing, the shower head was also not providing consistent hot water.

It wasn’t that clean. The front desk took a 500 deposit from me for not having a normal visa , in which he would have apparently only taken 125. I don’t care what they say, they can’t just take more and or authorize more by visa in case of a discrepancy ! Terrible management idea, and the location is to far away from everything else that’s important.

We had a good stay overall and would rate everything else five stars. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself was nice. The only issues we had were at reception: communication was difficult because the receptionist barely spoke English, and when we arrived about an hour before the 3:00 PM check-in time, we weren’t allowed to check in early. We had to wait in the lobby even though the hotel didn’t seem full. Also, the breakfast options were pretty minimal. Other than that, everything was fine and we enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast offers very limited variety, and even the few items available are provided in small quantities, with refills not always happening promptly.

Many charging outlets but almost all did not work. Both nights I woke up to a phone with almost no charge.

Overall a stay that has made my wife and I decide to make this hotel the hotel of choose when we visit the mainland. Staff great.

There was no food options. As a single woman I did not feel safe to be wondering the streets alone looking for food options. They did provide a free continental breakfast which didn't start until 7 so was not any good for me as I had an early checkout.

I am not a morning person, so did not take advantage of the breakfast lol

A lot of nice restaurants close to the Hotel

Staff was on strike do no restaurants, pool closed at 6. Room was not cleaned for entire stay. Staff that are working were very nice however limited service available.

Staff were friendly, great location to shopping and dining options. Great value. Only reason for a 4, not a 5, there was a strike of employees causing restaurant to be closed and limited room services.

Goof

There is not alot you can say about this Hotel. We have paid €165 euro per night for a Hotel without a service. When we arrived at check the receptionist told us that the staff is on strike and we will not have room service. We said to the receptionist that they had to inform us and she told us that they had send us an email. I requested a proof of this email but there was no proof from the Hotel management. So we ended up without the basic needs during our stay. No Hot water in bathroom. Phoned to call for assistance they came but they couldn’t solve the issue. You need to have a cold shower. Ac stops working and make loud noises that make impossible to sleep. We learned during our stay that the hotel staff is on strike for the last 2 months. Avoid at al cost

Funcionários estavam em greve e durante os 3 dias que ficamos nao tinha limpeza nos quartos, mas o hotel nos presentiou com café da manhã, que seria cobrado à parte.

Despite an on goi f strike they honoured our booking. Nice hotel with comfy beds.

Das restliche Personal, welches nicht gestreikt hat, war sehr bemüht. Das Zimmer war sauber und ansprechend.

Leider wurde im Hotel gestreikt und wir fühlten uns nicht wohl, da es wie ausgestorben wirkte, es kein Abendessen gab und Frühstück nur im Notbetrieb. Die Info vom Streik, der seit dem 5.7. läuft wurde uns im Vorwege nicht mitgeteilt.

Under difficult circumstances due to striking staff the service we received from the working staff was excellent.

The staff was very friendly and the room was nice.

Complimentary breakfast to make up for the limited housekeeping service was a nice compensation.

During the stay, strikes were in progress, so we didn't have perfect cleanliness, but we liked the kindness of the staff and the comfort of the location bed. We will visit again next time.

The location was convenient for our purpose and it was a lovely property although we never had time to see the pool area, only room, lobby and breakfast area.

We absolutely did not like the fact that we were not notified that the property was on strike or we definitely would have gone to stay at another property. We were only notified upon check-in and a letter on our desk. That was in very poor taste and we were very disappointed, we did not pay that kind of money to not have any services. Oh so they gave us a breakfast and that was supposed to make up for it. We had to go to the desk to get our towels and toilet paper. When I complained, they did end up cleaning our room although we kept it tidy ourselves but it just didn't feel that it was really clean! We definitely would have stayed at a different property had we known. The staff on hand of course did their best under the circumstances but they should have notified us.

Peggior albergo in cui ho soggiornato in Canada, hotel a 4 stelle e non offre neanche la pulizia quotidiana delle camere, che vergogna! Poi gente che protestava sotto l' hotel e nessuno faceva niente,veramente una pena! Sheraton non lo consiglio a nessuno, oltre al fatto che la colazione non offriva praticamente niente. Io non so ste 4 stelle come fanno ad averle... Probabilmente per loro vivere nella sporcizia è nella norma visto che erano sporchi anche gli spazi in comune. Consiglio all' albergo di rivedere queste cose per migliorarle e cercare di adeguarsi visto che più che un 4 stelle sembrava un 2.

Workers are really friendly, breakfast is really good, there’s security outside the building so there was nothing to worry about parking outside, housekeeping took the time to organize my baby’s toys and stuffies on the bed when cleaning my room, would definitely stay there again for vacation.
