Beautiful hotel. Literally next to the train station. A fair walk to city centre. York Races were on so we didn't pick the right week to sight see. The bar staff were exceptional so were the reception staff. However a couple of the staff in the Garden room need an attitude check. If you weren't ordering ice buckets of champagne you were ignored. One even shouted across the room to me "I will get to you in a minute sit down"

Amazing staff, huge fabulous room in the Sidings which was very quiet despite being next to the station and the main post office sorting office. The hotel is really lovely, we wouldn't hesitate to return as it was such a wonderful experience.

This hotel is incredibly beautiful, with excellent public space and lovely staff. We also had excellent meals (dinner and breakfast) in the main restaurant.

The pool and spa space was a little disappointing - not completely clean and quite cramped. There was also a very unpleasant leisure club member there who was very argumentative and clearly disliked by other members - he made that experience seriously unrelaxing!

I cannot fault this hotel in any way whatsoever. The general cleanliness of the hotel from the lobby area to the bars & restaurant, the leisure facilities, our room, everything was spotless and smelt fresh and clean. The staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you, we were treated like royalty the whole of our stay, we were made to feel very special. The quality of the food in Peachys during the evening was excellent as was the breakfast in the morning with ample choice of hot and continental options available. Staff extremely attentive and polite. Our room was fabulous we decided to pay £65 for an upgrade to a junior suite and it was worth every penny. Spotlessly clean and airy with a gorgeous view out our bedroom window of York minster. We had no trouble regarding noise from outside or inside the hotel and enjoyed a very good quality sleep. After we checked out we had a little wander round the lovely gardens of the hotel which we had to ourselves. There is a beautiful water fountain in the centre which adds to the tranquility. Overall the property offers brilliant value for money, 100% would recommend this beautiful hotel and we will most definitely be returning!

Cobwebs on bedroom ceiling. Charged twice for breafast when it was already paid for. Buffet breakfast hot food was luke warm on first morning.

Rooms were a little noisy. You could hear the plumping from other rooms above you coming through your room, but this is likely expected from an older building. It was also odd that we booked two rooms, but one was significantly larger. Not sure if one was upgraded or one was downgraded…

The breakfast was a little pricey for what was received. Would have preferred a coffee machine, not jugs. Pool was busy, so made it not great when busy but that’s all. It was great stay thank you

We had a freshly decorated room, which was lovely, large bed and very clean. I like that I had a fridge and refreshments. The lounge area and dinner room were nicely decorated and furnished. The staff were welcoming.

The Spa. It felt dirty dues to the soaking wet changing rooms floor (you couldn’t put your trousers on without getting the bottoms wet). The shower poolside wasn’t working. The lockers weren’t great, I had to go through five before I found one that locked and then I couldn’t get my clothes out. The spa area itself had hair and dirt on the floor and the sauna didn’t look clean with finger prints on the glass, spa bath felt gritty on the bottom. The sauna and steam were tiny as well. Having just come from Asquith Hall where the spa was immaculate, we were very disappointed. We didn’t bother using the gym in the morning after our experience in the spa. The breakfast was passable but there wasn’t much fruit, only melon and a few bits of chopped orange. The cooked tomatoes were swimming in liquid and the scrambled eggs were wet too. I’ve had better but as I said it was passable.

Location was the best right next to the train station and within walking distance of the old town.

Room was a title small but loved the view and the air conditioning. It had character. Plus they need to provide flannels for face washing.

The entrance to the hotel is absolutely stunning, which made it worse when we were allocated out room, which was very small, dark and with a small window, not at all what I booked.

I booked a deluxe king room and the room we were given was nothing like my confirmation email, so had to be moved to a slightly better room but still not what I had originally booked. Breakfast very poor!

Building stunning as are grounds, amazing location. We left our luggage after checking out, had another walk round York, came back and were still allowed to use swimming steam & sauna so felt like we had two days in York rather than one! All staff we encountered were lovely.

Little bit road noise & people outside from our room but it’s old building with old windows. Didn’t spoil our stay. Coffee at breakfast was not nice. However breakfast was delicious

The breakfast was good and plentiful. The location was perfect and the hotel common areas were lovely.

For the money the room was quite a let down. The bed was inappropriately positioned leaving no space for one of us to get in or out and no bedside table on one side as the bed was against the wall! Not what we would have expected for such a hotel and the price.

I'm a fussy sleeper, the bed was uncomfortable with a slight dip on the side I slept. The toilet in the room bathroom was a bit cramped.

York is not large, so an easy city for walking. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Hotel room was very quiet with a great view of the cathedral.

I was disappointed that there wasn’t an à la carte menu for breakfast, just buffet style, like other excellent hotels in the city.

The location is great. Next door to train station. Very clean. Breakfast was fresh and plenty to choose from. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Staff are exceptional, polite and friendly.

Brilliant location, friendly staff and room was very sizeable and comfortable. Very impressive building inside & out, with good room facilities (fridge, air con, tea & coffee / biscuits). Food at restaurant/pub on site very good.

Bit of noise from the main street. Only other feedback would be a few more toiletry items e.g. a shower cap etc would have been good.

The room was ok albeit needs updating. Breakfast was good, buffet stile but enough to choose from. The staff were friendly although the restaurant staff did not seem to be too happy.

A slight musty smell on arrival & pipework in bathroom noisy during the night. Parking price was expensive, we found out after walking around we could have parked in the train station for £15 for the whole weekend we paid £88 profiteering? The restaurant food was ok but very expensive & a service charge of 12.5% is excessive especially as the service wasn't anything to shout about. The menu stayed the same all weekend so no incentive to stay in, we ate out which was more economic with more variation.

Room was spacious and the decor was nice and in keeping with the building. Shower was hot and spacious. Staff were all very helpful. The pool and spa are were lovely and better than I had expected from reviews and photos, great that you can use it any time. Really helpful that it is so close to the station and also to the town.

The outside space was limited but ok. We hoped there might be pancakes and hot chocolate at breakfast for kids as some hotels do have these.

Lovely Hotel, great location to everything. Room was massive and very clean. Our room was located across from the elevators and cleaning room so was quiet loud at times but it was only 1 night so we didn't mind.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Milner York. The hotel itself is beautiful, and our room was gorgeous, with a lovely view. The bed, quilt and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was stunning with an amazing shower. We also loved that the smart TV actually worked properly, so we could easily watch Netflix in the evenings. A beautiful hotel with so many lovely touches — we’d definitely stay again!

Would have liked a bar fridge in room and better lighting and for some reason power would not charge my smart watch.

The food served in the garden room was below expectations. My partner and I ordered a cheese sandwich which was slices so thinly it was barely visible. We also ordered a “Yorkshire Ham” sandwich was no more than supermarket processed meat.

El hotel tradicional pero renovado y muy bien mantenido. Habitaciones amplisimas. Baño con grandes dimensiines. Pegado a la estacion de trrn lo cual resulta muy comodo para los traslados con maletas.

I had a fantastic stay at the Miller Hotel! A big shout-out to Jennifer, who was so kind and helpful during check-in. Even though she is a new staff member, she explained everything patiently and was incredibly warm and friendly. The breakfast was delicious, and the location is perfect — just minutes from York Station. I really loved this hotel and would highly recommend it!

Beautiful place and very close to all the amenities.

Unfortunately, the level of customer service fell far below what we expected, particularly considering the price of almost £400 per night. Both the reception and restaurant appeared severely understaffed and the staff we encountered did not seem particularly attentive or willing to assist. At times, it genuinely felt as though asking for help was an inconvenience to them. When we arrived, we wanted to have dinner in the restaurant but were told this would not be possible because they were short-staffed and that we should eat in the bar instead. However, the bar was also clearly understaffed, with two members of staff trying to manage everything and they were struggling to cope. Overall, the hotel felt noticeably short-staffed and there was a real lack of customer service throughout our stay. For a hotel charging almost £400 per night, I would have expected a significantly higher standard of service, attentiveness and overall guest experience.

Quite expensive which I was fine with but then you also had to pay for parking and after you've paid, if you go out there's no guarantee of a carpark still being available when you get back. The staff in the fitness/pool area were extremely rude. Female staff member was sitting on the desk flirting with the male staff member and our presence was clearly unwanted

Bedroom was very small. Dark. . Bad lighting. Smelt of damp. Told the hotel staff. Not acceptable so moved to another room a little better but put. Us off staying in the hotel to use facilities or stay for food. Not the cleanest of hotels and. Won't be going back. Which was very disappointing as it was for our silver wedding anniversary and for what we paid was very Underwhelming

The property was right next to the train station so perfectly located.

We selected a less expensive room and ended up on the third floor that was very warm. The vendor did open which helped. We could not get sufficient cooling from the air conditioning but did not report the issue . Other than the room being warm, it was a great room.. clean, comfortable and quiet.All the staff we dealt with were great.

I felt the sidings could do with a bit of TLC, bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. We stayed last year in the main hotel and would definitely stay in the main hotel again rather than the sidings.

The Location, Presentation and Comfortable Bed.

We had No Hot Water. We couldn’t use the bath and the following morning had to use the health club if we wanted a warm shower.

Breakfast was very good. Good variety of hot food and cold. Would have liked a plain Greek yoghurt and more fruit choice.

The buffet breakfast was excellent in Peachey’s. The garden room is really lovely. Loved the easy access around the hotel. Reception staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly.

Service for the evening meal in Peachey’s. The staff were not efficient and had no initiative. They weren’t keeping an eye on the customers whether waiting or needing their table cleared and the service was very slow. This put us off and we ate out of the hotel after this. There was an awful lot of noise on the first floor particularly regarding the trolley’s being wheeled to and fro for room service, this was not so bad in the early evening but after 11:00 at night it was rattling badly and on one night there was a loud crash as though the trolley had overturned. You can also hear the movement of those above on the second floor when they’re walking across their room but to. A certain extent this has to be expected due to the age of the building and very high ceilings.

The location and the grand historical building … the garden and lovely and the room was good.

The service was not great in the garden room (but it was race day) The friendliness of the staff varied, some very friendly, some just okay. However not rude. The food in the garden room was below par.

Das Hotel liegt wirklich direkter als direkt neben dem Bahnhof und war daher für unsere geplanten Unternehmungen perfekt. Die Einrichtung ist wunderschön und imposant, wie in einem Schloss, und es hat uns daher auch nicht gewundert, dass dort an dem Wochenende unseres Aufenthaltes eine große Hochzeitsfeier stattfand. Das Frühstück war super und man kann im hoteleigenen Pub auch sehr gut zu Abend essen. Unser Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten war geräumig und hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Am Abreisetag wollten wir uns die Zeit bis zum Zug noch in der Lobby vertreiben und dort eine Kleinigkeit essen und trinken und ich muss leider sagen, dass der Service dort sehr schlecht war. Wir mussten immer wieder darum bitten, endlich die Bestellung aufgeben zu können, wurden jedoch mehrfach ignoriert. Auch das Geschirr vom vorherigen Gast wurde an unserem Tisch bis zum Schluss nicht abgeräumt. Hier sollte vielleicht nochmal etwas an der Organisation gearbeitet werden, da wirklich nicht besonders viel Betrieb herrschte und wir die extrem langen Wartezeiten daher auch nicht ganz nachvollziehen können.

Initially concerned that my room was in annexe but no need to worry, the double room had everything needed and was very clean, quiet and comfortable.
