The Met Hotel Leeds - Newly Refurbished

The room was fantastic, well proportioned and thought out, nice extra luxurious touches such a complimentary water, crisps and teas, and a pod coffee machine. The bathroom was lovely with a great shower and lots towels as well as a robe and slippers. There was also very little noise and the AC was excellent. The staff were all very helpful, polite and attentive.

We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was very poor. The menu appears high end but it’s clear from the lack of diners that the majority of food is frozen. One person in our party had the peach and burrata salad, which was made using tinned peaches. I had a burger which was tasteless and not good quality. There was issues with all the starters we had, even the chips tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. The best thing was the cheese board at the end of the meal. There was also issues with the wine list as they were changing it so many options on the menu were not available. Breakfast the next day was better. The staff were brilliant and very helpful and attentive.

We had the loveliest time. The staff were absolutely lovely. You really got the feeling everyone was enjoying working at the Orel We felt so welcome on arrival. The breakfast was superb. This will defo be where we stay when we visit our daughter at uni over the next three years. Wonderful !!!

We stayed here on a busy Saturday night and had a lovely experience. The staff were really friendly and helpful, even finding us a phone charger when we realised we’d forgotten ours! Our room was clean and comfortable, and the small fridge was a real bonus for us. The whole hotel also smelt lovely, which made a great first impression. We’d definitely stay again.

We absolutely love The Met Hotel, we’ve stayed twice, in two VERY beautiful rooms. The facilities are brilliant, the staff are absolutely fantastic and the breakfast is incredible. We’ll be booking again soon. I’m very particular with hotels and this hotel is above my expectations.

We had a wonderful, cozy room, with an incredible shower. Our bed was so comfortable, with everything we needed, including a huge television. Everyone was so kind, it was fantastic.

Lovely hotel, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast has plenty of options. The bathroom was super spacious and the ‘Olivia thinks’ range they have for the bathroom amenities smells and feels great! The hotel decor generally has been designed very well, bright and vibrant! Ideal for couples/leisure or work! There is an amazing Housekeeping team, everything was perfect and spotless!

We were quite disappointed with the (24hr) room service food - especially as it was quite expensive. we had two pizzas but had to leave most of it as was fairly unappetising, and just ate some because we were so hungry. We stayed two nights and had the cleaning cupboard next to our room so it was fairly noisy early in the morning. When we came down for breakfast we were charged a set price per person but once we sat down and saw a menu there was an à la carte option that we would have preferred but wasn’t told, so we had the buffet that we had already paid for.

The bar/breakfast room has a nice atmosphere, plenty of space while feeling comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

great location - only 5 mins walk from Leeds train station. friendly staffs at the reception. nice breakfast with many options. it was quiet when I stayed there, had a good night sleep without any disturb. very good value overall.

there's only one guest lift, and it was a bit small and very slow. I checked in around 10pm, it was pretty quiet but had to wait around 3 mins for it. so next day we just took the stairs.

The hotel is perfectly situated and beautifully decorated. Staff were very welcoming and helpful at check in and breakfast. Rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. It’s less than 5 mins walk into the centre. Only downside was that the shower wasn’t very powerful at all but this did not ruin our stay whatsoever. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has been done up to a high specification, beds were comfy.

Our room had huge extraction fans outside the window which hummed all night, we were shown other rooms but each one had the same problems, they must be aware of this as they gave us earplugs to wear. Large bus stop outside was a little off-putting when we arrived, but it was okay.

Absolutely incredible stay. It was the best nights sleep we’ve ever had. The room was spotless and the bed was divine. Such a comfortable room. The shower was lovely and so big. We loved it so much that we’ve booked to stay again. The staff were amazing and always on hand if needed. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed.

Really comfortable bed and a lovely, spacious room. The shower was great with plenty of hot water, and there were lots of amenities provided. The location was excellent, with shops, markets, the train station and Leeds Arena all within walking distance. Overall, a great location and exactly what I needed for my stay.

Room was a lot smaller than expected, you couldn’t move around the room if someone else was stood up, the pictures certainly didn’t match what the reality was, bed not very comfy, dusty and dirty in all corners of the room including the bathroom, no where to store clothes except hangers for tops/coats, floor boards squeak so loudly, toilet flush was extremely loud it would wake people up, shower leaked through the doors when used, make up mirror was positioned really high up on the wall it was hard for an average height person to see in it when sat in the chair provided, a little annoyance for me was the bedside tables didn’t open for additional storage

Really disappointed second time around. The room was very small we had no fridge for the milk provided. Breakfast was lovely though!

Traffic noise mainly the buses idling at a stop just down from hotel. Bus service doesn’t run all night so tolerable.

We were upgraded to the most stunning suite, Charlotte at Reception made our day as we were celebrating our anniversary! Breakfast buffet was delicious with a huge quality and selection. The suite was absolutely stunning too. The location was perfect - the buses we were using stopped directly outside the hotel and the train station a couple minutes walk away too. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and polite. Would absolutely stay here again

The noise from the doors slamming and the outside as well. The rooms aren't very soundproof and unfortunately sometimes the streets get loud on the weekends.

We arrived 2 hours early. Expecting to leave our luggage and check in later. But No. Our room was available and we where checked in. Not squeezed for early check in fee, like some of the cheaper hotels demand. Result! The hotel could do no wrong after that. All of the staff. Friendly helpful and knowledge. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet abd well lit room. Good food. Will definitely book again

I booked a premium double room and was given room 101, an accessible room I had been looking forward to a bath but had to make do with large wet room where half of floor was immediately wet towards toilet and basin. During the night there was a very bright green light in the ceiling on permanently so it was like trying to get to sleep with the room lights on. Being near to Leeds city life on a Saturday night I was constantly woken up by people shouting. If the windows were good quality double glazing the noise may have been somewhat reduced?

Very friendly and beautifully presented hotel with a few minutes’ walk of Leeds Central Station and the city centre. Very comfy bed and luxurious toiletries! Nice touches like free nibbles in the bedrooms. Highly recommended! Thanks for a great stay!

There was a good choice of food for all tastes at breakfast, but the standard of the coffee and bread wasn’t quite up to scratch with the rest of the hotel. A minor quibble in context, though!

Very modern, clean, in a great location to the centre of Leeds.

The car park only small but we didn’t manage to find a place which was lucky as we had travelled. But no major complaints everything was fabulous.

The refurbishments are gorgeous. The bed was incredibly comfy and the shower was clean and modern.

Our room was right next to a cupboard so the door was opening and closing a lot early morning. Wasn’t that bad though.

Lovely room, comfy bed, very nice complimentary treats, roomy bathroom which was spotless and very modern. Location was perfect and we managed to park our car at the hotel which saved a lot of hassle. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Breakfast was excellent value with a great choice.

We chose to have our evening meal in the bistro and were given a 25% discount card to encourage this. The meal was very nice however the waitress could have been a bit more skilled and people friendly.

Slightly strange the room wasn't cleaned or turned overnight, but otherwise the stay was great.

The cleanliness, the smell as you walk into the main lobby, the breakfast was lovely with lots of options. The bed was comfy, the shower was powerful. Nothing not to like! I thought it was really good value for money considering it was the start of the August bank holiday weekend.

The only small thing was it would be a nice touch to have some body lotion alongside the other toiletries.

Only downside rear of hotel where our room was backed onto a busy nightclub and bar where noise went onto 2am. Followed by refuse collecting of bottles and deliveries from 4am. If staying ask for a room at front of hotel.

Being woken up at 5am by the first of 5 dustbin wagons. Understand bins need to be emptied but don't put us right above them when you're aware its bin day. Really spoilt our weekend xx

A lovely traditional building in the centre of Leeds with recently refurbished comfortable rooms. Rooms are well equipped and spacious. Despite the central location noise level was minimal.

Only one small lift for guests meant that waits could be long at busy times.

Great position, the hotel is beautiful and well manteined. The staff was nice. I recommend the hotel.

Everything was good. If I have to point out something, the breakfast selection was a bit standard.

Beautiful building and the room was just as gorgeous. (sometimes public rooms are lovely but bedrooms aren't - this was perfect!) Double aspect, huge room, unexpected extras ( water, soft drinks, crisps and snacks) . Very convenient for the station and a simple stroll to the Grand Theatre etc.

Only staying one night! One tiny quibble - it might be useful to install a handle in the bathroom near the bath as it's quite a high bath to climb out of after a shower.

Loved our 3 night stay - the hotel is stylish, the rooms were well laid out. Excellent breakfast selection - including gluten free station! Staff are friendly, location was excellent for train station, bars and restaurants.

A few minor things - the room we booked said it had a safety deposit box, however there wasn’t one in our room, which I needed for jewellery. Also there is only one small lift in the hotel that is quite slow.

Beautiful referb, everything was clean, a very warm welcome when we arrived. We were visiting Leeds to celebrate my husbands birthday so they had left a card and some treats in the room for us which was lovely. The beds were so comfy! Not much surrounding noise either to say how close we were to bars etc The breakfast was great, £17 seemed expensive but it was self serve, all nice produce so couldn’t grumble. Would 100% stay here again

Was kept awake by banging doors, people on phones, people coming and going all night. People in the room next door were banging on walls and arguing. I was in Peterborough for a friend’s funeral and due to emotional day and lack of sleep, I’m a nervous wreck today. Room was good and check was fine, but was cancelled out by the constant noise at night. Very disappointed by this

Staff were lovely. Everything smelled so nice and it was spotless. The bathroom is spacious with a great walk in shower. Comfy bed. Toiletries were good quality and the selection of tea / coffee and snacks was good It's a beautiful hotel and I would probably book it again if we were staying in Leeds.

I booked a deluxe room instead of standard to give us a bit extra space after having looked at the photos online. Our room was small and I thought we had been given the wrong room. I have been assured it was a deluxe but I can't imagine how there could be a smaller room as there wasn't much space. It also didn't have a wardrobe / closet as advised, just a rack on the wall. It really wasn't worth paying extra for. Having said that, our overall stay was really good. Although the bed itself was comfy I found the pillows too firm but that is probably just my personal taste.

We had a really lovely stay here recently. The hotel upon arrival was clean and very well maintained and the staff were friendly. The room was clean and modern, with basic things being easily accessible, such as plugs right near the bedside, mirrors in the correct places and the toilet roll at the correct level and the shower was very easy to use, with an on switch for each shower setting. The hotel local was also perfect. We would definitely stay again!

Requested early check in - only allocated to one room. Long process trying to sort oht upon check in. Broken hairdryer in room - split open exposing inside mechanisms. Housekeeper in hallway did take away and replace. Pole across shower fell on partners head to attached properly
