I think it is official, Marriott hotels treat veterans and government employees with substandard service. This is the 3rd time I have checked in at a Houston Marriott, Westin, & JW Marriott, where I have been checked in differently because I have a service dog and I am on the government rate. FOR THIS STAY, First I could not find my government ID, the check in woman kept repeating, I will give you a warning but you need your government picture ID. I finally found my ID. But she repeated it to my 5 times, I guess because she thought I was less intelligent than the average person. I have over70 nights at Marriotts (this year so far) yet I was placed on the “dog” floor because I have a service dog and not offered an upgrade like the other 2 guests behind me. My keys didn’t work in the elevator (I tried 2 different ones) and when I returned to the desk and told her, she said “you did it wrong.” Not sure how you mess up holding a key to a reader, but obviously the keys didn’t work. I asked her why I didn’t get the same treatment as the other guests and she replied with “ma’am, I reviewed your amenities with you.” I explained she didn’t and she basically called me a liar. I am so done with Marriotts and will be making sure the government knows Marriott hotels are discriminating against disabled veterans and treating government employees like we are less than important as others. Great job Marriott!

My hubby and I have been staying at the Westin Galleria for a few weeks and all the staff are great that work in the hotel. But I must say, the highlight of our visit has been Vilma in the Club Lounge. Vilma is amazing!! Talk about someone with a wonderful personality, who genuinely makes you feel better just by being greeted by her in the mornings. She is a true gem! Very accommodating and she ensured that my husband and I were well taken care of each day. Westin could not have a better person orchestrating the lounge. Vilma, you are exceptional at your job and it was a true pleasure getting to know you. I pray that we will have an opportunity to see you again on a future visit. Take good care and be blessed! Yummy Yummy!

La ubicación perfecta dentro del mall, las habitaciones amplias y silenciosas. Todos los servicios disponibles. Buenos restaurantes cerca. Personal amable.

El internet. El sistema no me gusta, me parece complicado y caro. La TV, no pudimos conectarnos con nuestros datos, me obligaba a tener el internet de la habitación y eso, como ya dije, estaba complicado. La puerta del baño hacía mucho ruido al recorrerla.

We stayed at this hotel this past weekend while in town due to a family emergency, and unfortunately, our experience left us really disappointed. There are definitely some positives. The location inside the Galleria is convenient, and the free parking is a big perk. For families, the standard king room worked well for us—the pull-out couch comfortably fit our three kids, which is not always easy to find. That said, there are several downsides. The room only has a very small fridge, and there is just one microwave in the entire hotel, which is inconvenient for families. The pool was especially disappointing—it’s located on what feels like an empty rooftop, requiring people to walk across the roof and then stairs to access it. We’ve honestly had much nicer pool setups at lower-end hotels. We were excited to swim but as soon as we saw the pool we left. Our biggest issue, though, was the lack of transparency and poor communication around the “resort fee” benefits. When we checked in late Thursday night, the front desk explained that the resort fee included ice skating passes and a $30 dining credit. Because we spent most of our trip at the hospital, we planned to use those perks on our checkout day. After ice skating, I went to confirm how to use the dining credit and was then told it only applied to the night of our stay—something that was never mentioned at check-in and not clearly stated anywhere. The employee I spoke with said she remembered checking us in and told us she would honor the $30 dining credit that day. She instructed us to charge our meal to the room and let the front desk know when we returned. However, when we followed those instructions, another employee (Yvette) refused to honor it. She stated that not only was the credit not valid that day, but it also required two separate transactions to use—again, something that had never been communicated to us. She was dismissive and unwilling to help, despite us explaining exactly what we had been told earlier. At the end of the day, this wasn’t about the $30—it was about the inconsistent information and lack of accountability. We made decisions based on what hotel staff told us, only to be met with resistance and poor customer service. We actually had plans to return next month, but this experience completely changed our minds. It’s disappointing that something so small—and so easily fixable—resulted in losing repeat guests.

Everything else. Poor service, bad soundproofing and very expensive for a tired hotel. Our room was never even serviced after the second night of our stay. Very disappointing.

The staff member at check-in got my reservation mixed with someone else even after looking at my ID, tried recharging me even though I prepaid via 3rd party. Supposedly corrected it but when I was leaving at the end of my stay, I decided to verify my check out was all good to go. Turns out the staff member still had not checked me in properly & I was going to be charged. The staff member at checkout was very knowledgeable and corrected everything, Thank you! Overall a great stay.

The valet team was amazing and helped me while I was staying onsite. Elbert, Josh, Spencer was very helpful. Elbert also called Sam to help me with rides to different places. Jerrell and Shirley was helpful as well.

The first thing that happens when someone arrives at the Westin Galleria hotel is a greeting with kindness and professionalism from the valet service. Elbert at the valet station greets every guest with a smile and a sincere welcome. Once the guest enters the lobby of the Westin Galleria, they are met with more friendliness and professionalism. The city view not very pleasant

The two big positives of this property are (1) location above and within the Galleria. Very central with the greater Houston area and (2) the rooms are large and comfortable. The negatives are the Marriott maximum money squeeze machine: fees, fees, fees. $50+ for Valet parking. 18% automatic service charge on room service. $25 daily destination fee. A destination fee, in Houston? Hello? Oh hey, you'll get 2 tickets to the Museum of Illusions next door! Not exactly the Louvre. Marriott have become way too opportunistic on these sorts of things in my opinion. The cost of the room, pre all the extra fees, is already quite high.

Booked a room for my two young kids. I am a Marriott ambassador member and travel ALOT. The front desk manager Amy was TERRIBLE. Check in was such a hassle I completely cancelled my reservation and relocated to another Marriott. I guess my family didn’t fit the demographic she felt should be allowed to check in. Beware when booking here. There are many other Marriotts in the vicinity.

We stayed here 2 nights on the way to California from Florida as we had to come through the United IAH hub. Hotel was comfortable. We stayed on a high floor with great views and had a large room and bathroom. We had club access, although the club isn’t open on weekends so we only had access one night and for one breakfast. For the second day’s breakfast, they gave us a. $50 voucher to the Daily Grill, but we went there about 9am on Saturday, half the restaurant was closed, they were clearly understaffed and couldn’t seat us for 20-30mins even though the restaurant appeared empty, so we decided to get takeout poboys from the hotel’s lobby shop, as we had a plane to catch and couldn’t risk getting delayed by what seems to be an extremely disorganised cafe. Other than that, we used the gym, which was well equipped for a hotel, but busy. The lounge for breakfast the first day was good and for self serve snacks on the Tuesday night was handy. We didn’t use the pool. I don’t know who would pay $55for the valet parking, when the ground floor of the Brown Parking Garage of the Galleria mall was about 100ft away and very easy accessible and had free 24/7 parking. Staff were friendly and helpful . If you like shopping, the 3rd floor elevator exit was virtually in the Galleria shopping mall, which had just about every store you could need plus many food options.

Below adequate front desk service, staff not sure of how to check in guests, not able to work the mobile key system. Offered feather or foam pillows during reservation, asked for feather pillows, however, upon arrival was told that Westin no longer provides feather, only foam pillows. The pillows feel like foam bricks.

Loved it was INSIDE the mall, did NOT like $61.99 for valet parking per day!

I know that this hotel was refurbished not so long ago. I expected more. The pillows are pretty bad and and the room was too noisy.

The Daily Grill was terrible we tried it for dinner and gave it another try for breakfast. Dinner the staff was good but breakfast was a different experience, staff wasn’t welcoming and the food was overpriced and cold the coffee was terrible tasting it kinda seems the employees must get paid pretty good so they don’t have to work for tips because as soon as we got our food they stopped checking on us for anything.

They are charge a $25 a day for a destination fee staight BS, the fee is taxed as well. I chexked out one day early and they still charged me the fee.

They were so racist

We had two connecting rooms and the stay was good. However we forgot our airpod in the room and called the hotel around 4pm on the check out date and they told us houskeeping did not bring anything to lost&found. The houskeeping staff should be questioned about this.

The bed was so comfortable!!!!! I wish I could have taken it with me. Also concierge was so delightful and helpful.

Creo que es momento de mejorar los elevadores, hay momentos en que podemos esperar demasiado para que por fin llegue un elevador a nuestro piso y es un poco molesto, tambien creo que el crédito de alimentos deberian aplicarlo directamente ustedes cuando hacemos cargo a la habitación.

From the moment I arrived at the Westin Galleria, the level of service was nothing short of exceptional. The Valet team stood out immediately—friendly, efficient, and full of personality. They made the arrival process smooth and stress-free, and each interaction with them throughout my stay was marked by warmth and professionalism. The Front Desk staff, especially the lady working the evening shift, were equally impressive. She was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, setting the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. Every question was answered with a smile, and she went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and informed. My room exceeded expectations—clean, spacious, and offering a stunning view that made winding down each night a pleasure. Between the hospitality of the valet team and the thoughtful service at the front desk, the Westin Galleria made me feel truly valued as a guest. I can’t recommend this location enough and will definitely be returning.

Room is comfy ice machine broken both days we were here. When you arrive and go online WIFI $18.95 a day - then you go through hell to show youre a bonjoy member ( never have seen any benefits of that )Motel 6 is free and they have ice and allow pets.

Reception- easy check in and welcoming Lobby Bar- Jamie drop the mic - absolutely outstanding service hands down at this location. True service with smile oriented. Strongly reccommend even if not staying here to get to the lobby bar and order a drink. Bespoke service at its best Concierge lounge-more than descent place to hang out with private conference room as well. Gym- well equipped with a view Parking- self in garage (connected)is very convenient vs 60$ valet.
