Location within walking distance to the train station. Friendly reception. Excellent dinner in the bistro.We had salads that were delicious and the servings were generous. Amazing variety at breakfast hot and cold, especially the strawberries, blueberries and other fresh fruits. The decor and staircase. We used the lift for our luggage.

Room was small and old fashioned. During the first night, there was an alarm nearby the hotel and we couldn't sleep even with closed windows, which was pretty annoying.

Breakfast was very good, however we had to wait 20 minutes for poached eggs and it took a little while for the hot food to be replenished. There was only one member of staff working in the restaurant and she seemed run off her feet. The location was as if excellent. That’s the main reason we stayed there.

The room was very outdated and in much need of a facelift. The bathroom door lock/catch was very lose and a hazard. I caught my shirt sleeve on it.

Location was excellent right in the centre of the city.

The shower was partially covered by the pole supporting the shower glass. The shower glass was too short causing water to go all over the floor.

The location is great can't fault that at all. The buffet cooked breakfast was tasty and plenty choice of other breakfast too. Bed was comfy.

room was quite small and the bathroom very narrow. Curtains in the room didn't cover all of the window. There wasn't any water available in the room. There was a fire alarm or some sort of alarm going off in the building outside of our window, it went on all night and didn't stop until approx 8am (not the hotels fault)

I was very pleased with the bathroom. Everything was really tidy and clean. The room also very clean.

The TV remote control wasn’t working. I asked for help, but I was told that everyone was very busy, so I didn’t receive any assistance. There was only one pillow in the room.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable, down side was the street noise, we live in a quiet area so the music from the bars and cars was disturbing. Fridge in room was handy.

Felt the tea coffee selection was a bit skimped on, two of us and only two normal tea bags and milk cartons, if you wanted more you would have to contact reception.

The room was a bit chilly and the heating didn't work. We did get a small heater to put on but that didn't keep the heat going. thro ugh the night. Duvet was quite thin and there were no extra blankets. It didn't stop us sleeping but heating should be available. I though I had booked breakfast as inclusive so thought the price was good but felt that it wasn't so good when I discovered breakfast wasn't included especially with no heating

The friendly staff at reception were very helpful. Especially the lady with dark hair who was on duty afternoon of 6 September.

Half a roll of toilet paper in the room was not good, had to go down to reception to ask for more. Waited over 30 minutes for the bar staff to return to order food Again the lady on reception helped my putting my order through to the kitchen. The TV should be on the wall in front of you, not on a side wall in the room, ridiculous and inconvenient placement.

Perfectly located to visit Aberdeen on foot. Parking just next to hotel (added cost but not too expensive). Rooms spacious and very comfortable - large windows with views over the city. Added cost for breakfast, nice hot buffet bar with good choice. I thoroughly recommend this hotel for your stay.

Parking arrangement really poor. Feels like no control and I was loathe to remove car for a drive (needed in Aberdeen) for fear of not getting a place back.

Staff were not friendly on arrival. Bed was uncomfortable and decor quite dated.

There was a bath and shower. However, I am 5ft tall and there was no way to reach the bath taps to run a bath without getting into the bath. This strikes me as ridiculous and probably unsafe for us older guests.

Coming from the station, Google Maps guided us to the back door of the hotel, which was a bit disappointing at first glance, but it was just a side street and just a back door; entering it opened up to a completely different, elegant world. Very helpful and professional staff in the front desk and in the breakfast restaurant. THE BEST EVER choice of cold and hot dishes for breakfast (fresh vegetables, fresh fruit: even strawberries and blackberries; crispy, freshly baked pastries... what ever I could dream about.)

It's a shame that our travel plan didn't allow us to stay here longer. A normal nice hotel, there is nothing to complain about. There were no power sockets close to beds... but; is it truly necessary!? You can sometimes leave your mobile alone on the table for charging. 😀

Location was excellent, looking out over the Union Terraces. Staff very friendly; bar and bistro were great. Facilities were clean except for the window sills, which were cleaned one of the days during our stay. All in all I would rebook again in future, but would follow up more promptly with the staff re fixing windows, etc

The sash windows were very hard to open and close (no aircon), with the right-hand one's latch bent out of shape. There was quite a bit of noise from nearby clubs - closing the windows helped a bit, but it made the room quite hot. The room's mobile fan supplied was too loud to run at night.

Breakfast was very good.Staff were always polite and helpful.

The rooms not just the bedroom were very dated and carpets in most places were getting thread bare. Needs a revamp.

The front desk and bar staff were absolutely excellent, so helpful. Food was excellent, service slightly slow as they weren't busy.but only one person doing everything.

A very central hotel. Lovely neighbourhood with Union Terrace Gardens opposite. Close to shops and attractions. Staff very welcoming and helped me out with an item I had forgotten to pack. Hotel in good and attractive condition. Lovely bar/ dining area. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Bedroom was clean, well decorated and a very comfy bed. Parking at back of hotel with very reasonable charges. Thank you a great stay, will return.

A very small single with funiture too large. No space for my case. No instructions on using the shower. A large hole in the wall behind the bedside table with wires on show.. Curtains hard to close and window did not open. Very grumpy female receptionist in the morning.Maybe from the US?Did not move to help an elderly lady. She was not busy. Black dtaff polite and helpful.

Breakfast was very nice, the room was very clean. I liked the windows on the landings. Front desk scheduled a taxi to take me to the airport at checkout, which was super appreciated. I was there for an event at the music hall which was just around the corner, so very convenient location.

Could hear people walking on the floors above, but it was not terrible.

- Spacious, bright room - Modern bathroom - Friendly, helpful staff - Quiet, despite the proximity to the street - Ideal location to explore Aberdeen, there is a bus stop nearby - The price was unbeatable (then again, Aberdeen is not as touristy as other parts of Scotland)

- There was no free parking. - The available parking spots were quite expensive.

We asked for one of our double rooms to be changed for a twin and they upgraded it for a twin suite. Hotel is very well located.

Very tired looking hotel, feels more like a 3* with very basic standard rooms, staff not very engaging and quite unhelpful.

The initial booking, over the phone, was less than perfect. My wife and I booked two nights. We subsequently attempted to add a third. Unfortunately this turned out to be one extra night for me alone, a phenomenon that continued into the second day, when the room key failed to work, and was renewed. Apart from that, all staff were attention and efficient.

From arriving to leaving the hotel, we were impressed by all the staff we met who could not do enough for us.They were very friendly,helpful, and took time to make us feel very welcome.The breakfast was excellent, served in a relaxed atmosphere in a fantastic Victorian hotel full of history and character.The staff were proud of their hotel and shared many fascinating stories and details. A special mention to the chef and kitchen and to Will and Natalie.We have booked for next year!

Decor was poorly kept, needs to be better invested in. Walls peeling, woodwork chipped and warped. On arrival I was asked to pay despite having paid online already. We stayed one night, came back to the hotel and got to our rooms to discover both key cards had been deactivated and we had to go to reception to have this rectified

Hotellet virker slidt og det trænger til generel vedligeholdelse. Der er lidt nusset og beskidt i krogene. Hotellet har en fin tilknyttet parkering, men det er bare ikke stor nok, hvis man ankommer sent. Så kan man holde gratis i gaderne, hvor der er rimelig plads. Men gratis parkering er kun til kl. 8 om morgenen, og der kan kun holdes 1 time i gaderne.

Good location and nice granite facade

Me first room was like a sauna. Turned the radiators off and went out for dinner. Came back and the room smelled of damp, had to change rooms late at night which was a hassle.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It took me so long to work out why. The bed or the matress topper was thinner at the head end and thicker at the foot end meaning I was sleeping downhill (if that makes sense) I eventually turned around and slept upside down

Par ailleurs, la télécommande ne fonctionnait pas, malgré ma demande de remplacement effectuée à l’accueil. En l’état, la chambre 306 ne répond pas aux standards attendus pour un établissement classé quatre étoiles et ne garantit aucun confort

Location is great right in the city centre.

The room was a bit on the small side, fine for one or two nights though, and comfortable. My friend and I had a lovely dinner in the hotel bar, but we were disappointed we couldn’t get a latte as there is no coffee machine. We were going to have breakfast there but because of no lattes we went elsewhere.

Excellent location and perfect for our day out.

The bed moved anytime you sat down on it which isn’t ideal. Then the 4am wake up call. We went away for our 10th anniversary and to be awaken at 4am by people battering on our door. Was not the night I expected. Sleep was disturbed and ruined.

Superb stay! Fantastic locarion, beautiful room with great facilities - really nice to have a fridge when in the middle of a heatwave! Check in took seconds. Staff all very poliite and welcoming. Great price. I will certainly be back.
