Restaurant was closed.
Good location. Pet friendly.
Could use better upkeep. Outside - weeds growing in rock landscaping. Doors marked up or damaged looking.
The location was great. Easy to find and close to a lot of things
Most honest review would be that the facility is very outdated and the rooms needs to be refreshed. The carpets in the room were sticky like it needs to be shampooed or replaced. The outside of the building is peeling and just doesn’t look good. For the price that you’re paying, breakfast is still not included unless you add it to your reservation for an extra price. The elevator and the hallways have a moldy scent.
Beautiful and clean. Kind helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Large room.
The convenient location and they accepted dogs
The breakfast price was outrageous for what they were offering. There was a smell of water damage in the hallways. The carpet trim was falling off. One of the entrance doors didn't lock. The yard and the outdoor pool were eye sores.
Our room that we booked was not available. This place is a horrible place with false advertising. They should not be on bookings since they do t have the rooms they advertise!!!
The place is falling apart. very poor cleanlisness!
Dear General Manager, I am writing to formally complain about the unacceptable condition of the room we were provided during our stay at the Allure Hotel on August 8, 2026. We booked the room directly through the hotel and paid almost $500 for one night. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable for a hotel charging this amount. Among the problems we encountered were: There was a visible blood stain on the comforter. The bathtub was extremely dirty, with what appeared to be black dirt or residue throughout it. The patio windows were covered with visible marks and were clearly not properly cleaned. The rug/carpet was wet from the front of the room to the back. These conditions were not minor housekeeping issues. They raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and preparation of the room and were certainly not what we reasonably expected when paying nearly $500 for one night’s accommodation. We reported these concerns at checkout and specifically requested to speak with the manager. We were told that the manager would call us the following day. That call never came. I subsequently called the hotel again and was once again told that the manager would contact me the following day. Again, no one called. I then called a third time and left a voicemail for the manager personally. Despite these repeated attempts to resolve the matter directly with the hotel, I have still received no response. I find the condition of the room and the lack of any response from management extremely disappointing. We gave the hotel several opportunities to address this matter professionally, and those opportunities have been ignored. Given the condition of the room, the amount we paid, and the hotel’s failure to respond to our repeated attempts to resolve the matter, I am requesting a full refund of the approximately $500 paid for our stay. I have photographs documenting the condition of the room and can provide them upon request.
Nothing
MOLD, UNCLEAN, UNPROFESSIONAL!!!They put us in a room that’s not dog friendly then made us switch a day after we were unpacked and settled into a dog friendly room during boots and hearts! The room had mold all throughout it, unclean, blood stains on curtain. The hot tub wasn’t working and wasn’t posted to their website, their food was the generic hotel food that’s usually free but it was 20$/person and tasted a day old! Overall, wouldn’t recommend at all!
Easy to get to. It was very quiet.
A bit older style. Does look like it needs some upgrades.
N NOTHING NOT HAPPY WITH THE CONDITIONS AT ALL OR YOUR STAFF OR YOUR ROOMS YOU NEED TO DO A REHAUL AT ALL
Everything
Not really any but maybe the face I had a patio door for fire exit
Pretty much the entire stay
It is not very clean in the hall ways Outside garage all over Mud in the hall ways Not well look after at all
Location and staff
Stained bedsheets, sliding door locks and handle were broken and double latch to hall was not stable. No fan in bathroom. Mouldy smell and must have been since my daughter and I are allergic to it and had a very stuffy noses after hour of being in the room. Daughters throat swelled and had to take Benadryl. Other guess was fine cause she’s not allergic.
the bed
they was bugs in the second room they give us
Pillows on bed
I am not one to write bad reviews but this has to be said. What a disappointment. My room and the facilities were absolutely filthy. Stained towels, moldy bathroom. I paid for breakfast package and was charged. Upon arrival, I was told the restaurant was closed so no breakfast. I asked if they at least had a coffee station. Nope. I never got money back for that. Staff said they tried getting a hold of the manager but couldn't reach them. Should there not be a manager there at least during the day? There was a crying dog across the hall which kept us up all night. Several people complained and expressed concern that maybe the person was hurt. They did nothing. We will never be staying there again.
Maintenance around the property is important! I actually asked to see the room before I paid because the exterior was so bad. The room was OK but it just leaves a bad feeling in my head. If they are not taking care of the outside of the hotel….. chances are they are not spending extra on the inside. All 3 ice machines were not working!!! To be fair one of the staff brought me a bag of ice when I found her! Thanks for that!
Quality service
Outdoor grounds need work
It was close to the wedding we were attending and it was pet friendly.
Run down, wallpaper peeling of the walls carpet lifting in the hallway. Electrical cord in the room was taped to the floor with pieces of red tape. Electrical outlets missing covers. Room not clean. The "Outdoor" courtyard that was off the pet friendly rooms was overgrown with weeds, you literally could not see where you were stepping. No garbage cans outside to dispose of pet waste. Abandoned outdoor pool, crumbling and falling apart empty except for a broken black plastic chair. A real eyesore. I would never stay here again.
The fact that it is situated close to the exits for Highway 400. There is a Tim Horton's nearby where you can grab a coffee before continuing on with the rest of your journey.
The shower head and the washroom fixtures. It lacked water pressure and looked rather dull and dingy. No complimentary breakfast.
Location
This hotel is by far the worst operating hotel I’ve seen. Outside is in various states of disrepair. The ceiling in the lobby was leaking. The room itself had mold in the bathroom. The heater didn’t work so a space heater had been put in the room. Whatever rate they’re offering it’s not worth it. Stay somewhere else.
I called ahead to check the sauna was working, they said yes. It wasn’t. Also when I arrived I then asked if the pool was working, the staffer went over to the pool, came back and confirmed the pool was working. Next morning pool was closed. Tbe other reviews are corrrct. Amenities are a joke. They probably never work.
Shabby worn out furniture. Ice machines not working and staff that don’t even know where they are located.
Don’t stay here. Hotel is dirty and in need of repairs. Locks to building not functional. Pool was shut down due to health and safety reasons. Police called to building due to altercations between guests. I felt unsafe. Despite this, hotel refused to cancel subsequent booking without 30 days notice!! My experience with customer service was horrible, passing me on from person to person with no intention of cancelling my room. Service rep said “I wouldn’t stay here either” but refused to help.
Location
There were a bunch of kids running around ,screaming and slamming doors until midnight
comfortable beds , clean and a great place to relax
the only downside was there was kids running around at one in the morning down the halls being loud .
Grat check in experience
Restaurant closed.
The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet
Did not like the carpet. Old carpets are unsanitary and unhygenic
The location was great
Very outdated very outdated and the hot tube closed down cause an inspection was there and they didn’t pass
Avoid Allure Hotel Barrie unsafe, dirty, reeking of smoke, dark halls, awful bed, and no compassion when I felt unsafe and asked for a refund while traveling for my mom’s celebration of life. Customer service horrible and declined refund.
Rundown and dirty from last time we stayed there when it was a Holiday Inn . It WAS one of the best Motels in Barrie
Pas mal
The hotel staff was very accommodating. I had a personal issue. They were great to help me with my reservations. The room posted online was not dog-friendly. The hotel front desk was awesome in helping me change to a pet-friendly room. The parking is easy and accessible to any part of the hotel.
I received an email stating that I never checked. I was physically at the location to make the changes that I required. If you need to make changes online why does it take 24 to 48 hours to respond? If any changes are made at the location, all parties included should be updated immediately.
Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Liked how the room had extra blankets. The heating/ac was easy to use. Shampoo/conditioner was good. We were able to get a late check out.
We were able to get a late 12 o’clock check out and house keeping knocked at our door waking us up at 10:30 to ask if we were checking out soon. We were looking forward to swimming in the pool but the water was too cold so we didn’t use it.
Parking was easy, lots of spots near entry closest to room
Bathroom was is poor condition, no working fan, smelled muggy
Quiet room, good shower
Needed rubber bath mat. Remote wouldn’t turn tv on or off (I pressed the button on the tv instead). Would like a complimentary breakfast. Main complaint was the room wasn’t ready until 3:45 pm. The cleaning staff were still cleaning rooms up until 5:45 pm or later. Need more staff, or ones that work faster.
Strong chlorine smell as soon as you enter the lobby. Lobby itself rather poor more befitting a low end hotel. Has a restaurant but breakfast isn’t included so is an extra cost. Was quiet, clean and bed comfortable. Lower price than surrounding newer hotels. Never did get the wifi password - the front desk attendant of Indian descent was hard to understand. Was OK but I’ll upgrade next visit to Barrie.
The only good thing about this hotel is that it is next to the Mandarin restaurant.
Entering the hotel, everything was bad. The receptionist was very serious. The elevator was broken, mold in the bathroom, dirty carpet, strong cigarette smell, stained sheets. A room for 3 adults only had 2 towels and the tub had black stains.
Our room was flooded. No one acknowledged this issue and still haven’t heard back.
Not much. Staff is nice.
Prepaid my room with booking.com. Hotel charged me again on the credit card I provided as gtd for incidentals even after check in person confirmed he will cancel the duplicate reservation at check in.
Nothing at all
The hot tub was broken, and the sauna was broken, and no free breakfast. The TV didn't work at all of my second night there. The coffee maker didn't work in my room. The price of my two night stay was ridiculous when the hotel only had ten guests there. The whole weekend. The wifi did not work in my room. The staff was horrible to deal with.I would not answer any of my questions or concerns
As soon as we walked in the receptionist told us they were not accepting any checkins. She blamed it on Booking.com and said there was nothing she could do to help. We had already paid through booking.com at that point. We left and got a different hotel. When I contacted Booking.com to get a refund, they contacted the hotel which claimed that there was no issue with our checkin, and that we simply didn't show up. Very disappointing experience. Thankfully Booking.com was still able to refund us.
The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! I would go back just to sleep in that bed!
We had a long-standing reservation at Allure Hotel & Conference Centre that was abruptly cancelled with less than 72 hours’ notice. While unexpected situations can occur, the way this was handled was completely unprofessional and demonstrated an alarming lack of client care. There was no attempt to assist us with alternative accommodations, and no compensation was offered for the additional costs or the disruption this caused. Our group was left scrambling to find last-minute lodging at a higher price, with zero support or follow-up from the hotel. What’s worse, we sent two emails to the General Manager seeking resolution, and neither received a response. This silence speaks volumes about how little regard the hotel has for its guests once they’re no longer convenient to accommodate. The absence of accountability, communication, and even the most basic level of guest support is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that presents itself as a professional conference centre. We were treated as disposable, and that lack of care is something we will not forget. Disappointed doesn’t begin to cover it. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values service, respect, or reliability.
The bathroom tub in room 224 needs an upgrade. It had mold and stains on the bottom of the tub. Wallpaper was coming off in big sections. The outside west side of the building had big panels coming off. Will not stay here again.
Nothing at all bedsheets had a bad smell on them.
Staff are lazy requested something and didn’t get an answer the whole night.
Great service
I liked that it had a poop and a gym. Also drive up hotel rooms was a nice feature.
Our rooms smelt terribly like cigarette, there was still hair in the tub from the previous user. It felt like they do not clean their hotel rooms properly just a quick sweep. I called front desk to send something for the smell of cigarette they showed up at my door a few minutes later with a glade aerosol spray. Typically hotels will leave soap/shampoo and of course it’s never a standard size but this was incredibly small. Very cheap
Toilet ran all night off and on. Shower went from luke warm to boiling hot off and on. Otherwise, staff was great. That older wing seems beat down a bit
Location
No balcony
Loved the room and the staff were very friendly and helpful
It was lovely
I remember when this hotel was the Holiday Inn. It used to be such a beautiful property. Now it's run down and the bathroom is disgusting. Rust stains all inside from the toilet leaking. Mold and hair inside the bathtub. Wallpaper is falling off. The outside door is open no need to use your key card. I would never stay here again and the worst part of this I paid $200. a night. What a ripoff.
This “hotel” is in a great location and the employee who checked me in was fantastic. However this hotel is run down and falling apart and no one seems to care. With all the wallpaper bubble and wallpaper falling down I suspect water damage in the walls leading to Mold. Here for a hockey tournament and another family believed they found blood on the bed sheets There is zero curb appeal and the parking lot is filthy with leaves and downed tree branches. The carpets are old and stained. I can keep going on with lots of negatives but this hotel doesn’t deserve my time even if it’s a negative review. I would never come back to this hotel even if it’s the only and last one available as I would prefer my car.
Check in was easy. It was a one night stay for concert tickets we had. Location was good. Room was spacious.
This hotel is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, the rooms are small and all carpeted. The bathrooms are dirty sickness tub and shower curtains stained. They give you two towels and barely any toilet paper. The pool was freezing cold they lied at the front desk and said that the heater was fixed and it wasn’t. The hot tub was closed off because it was out of order the pool room, the bathroom/Chang room and the gym was freezing cold. They dismissed all my concerns. They lied to me so they didn’t have to deal with the issues. Hotel is completely outdated. Wallpaper falling off walls and many doors not secured so anyone can come into the building. I highly suggest to not stay here, it’s Over priced garbage.
The breakfast was a typical, standard buffet breakfast.
It was a hockey tournament booking and the security kept chasing kids around telling them to go to bed by 10. As a hockey tournament booking, kids staying out of their rooms late should be expected. The carpet is really dirty and there’s a musty smell in some areas of the hotel. Also it takes a long time to go from one area of the hotel to the other if not everybody is in the same area. It makes it difficult and hard to navigate. Also it was extremely expensive. Priced like a luxury hotel but definitely not luxury.
Very rundown. Rooms not clean. Needs serious overhaul. Would highly NOT recommend!!! Definitely not a family hotel.
I never stayed at the hotel. I tried to cancel because we found out the pool was closed. No one returned our calls at either allure or booking.com We were charged for the stay but never did stay because the pool was closed and that was part of the reason we picked this hotel

Convenient to convention on same floor as rooms
Worst experience in a hotel in Ontario. Staff are rude, useless and make your experience miserable. We felt we could not even breathe in the hall and we got chased from security. Bathrooms are full of mold, wallpaper coming down and water does not flush. Do your self a favour and don’t book this hotel.
Hot tub was cold
All around good hotel for the money!
really liked the location!
Staff were great. Room was excelent, and had good coffee.
We stayed for the hot tub but it wasn’t working
We stayed hear with our cheer team. The pool was "broken down" and we were not notified at check in. When we went to go to the pool, we were told it was down. No compensation for the inconvenience. Then we had our team in the hall making crafts etc. And were told by security that needed to move and no other space would be available for them to hang out in at 7pm. My son who is 5 was told he could play mini sticks in the hall with his foan puck as it could damage their walls. It is not a family hotel and charge too much per night for no pool or space for groups. On top of all this the staff were rude and yelled at all of the children who are 7 and under. Will never stay there again.
Hotel was clean but dated. The pool was not available and by reading the other reviews I am not sure the last time guests were able to use it. Stop advertising it as an amenity.
Needs a lot of work. The pool was closed and so was the restaurant. The building is run down and needs a lot of work.
Bed was terrible. Furniture was falling apart. Stains on floor. Everything was dated.
Never had breakfast
Hockey Tournament, kids playing sticks in the hallway, constantly banging on the door with the ball, stick or a solid, body check.
All good for hockey tournament
Booked a room standard room with two double beds for my sister in law and I through Expedia, once we got to our room there was one queen bed only. I went back to the front desk and they kept telling me they were fully booked and didn’t have our proper room available with no explanation why we didn’t get it on the first place. I asked for a second room and that wasn’t an option. They kept insisting took bring us cot and take 25$ off the bill, I paid 268$ for a low end hotel, this wasn’t going to happen. I then asked for a full refund and we were going to find a new hotel, the manager then came out, after waiting for him another 15 minutes he said “no worries sir we will give you a room with two double beds like I was at wrong because I got the incorrect room.Obviously had spare emergency rooms available, why did I need to waste all this time and threat to leave to get my room. Also the hot tub was none functional,of course just like last time I stayed here the hot tub was not functioning either, you would think the front desk lady would know of this issue and advise the customers asking about the hot tub especially when you ask her twice because you seen a sign a the hot tub itself, asking other st the pool the hot tub has been closed for the last 2 days.
It had availability
We went with 6 other families for a hockey tournment, the hotel was quite even though being filled with kids from the hockey tournment. Rooms were clean, microwaves were a bonus, mini fridges were big. Only issue was how loud the heating units in each room were. If the heater is not on it just blows cold air in from the outside and the room quickly gets very cold. Also the boys were looking forward to using the pool facilities which were conveniently closed for the weekend and the front desk couldn't tell use why.
We came home with bedbugs the pool jacuzzi and sauna were filthy and sauna didn't work you better warn people I want my money back there was no one else on the property disgusting
Everything
It was winter and snowing hard to judge but it appeared ok
I've stayed at the Allure many times never would stay anywhere else
Everything also walk out patio or room's with balconies looking out at the courtyard loved it
Great location, bed, pillows and duvet were amazing, we had a king executive room
The bathroom sink drain filled up, and took ages to go down. We didn't call down, it wasxmas night and only saw 1 young girl at desk. The remote didn't work, we took batteries out, and played around with it. The worst of all, the heating clicked on and off every 15min, and sounded like an industrial generator, we weren't able to sleep, at all I did complain in morning, for manager to reach out to me, very unacceptable!!
Some upgrades needed like for example washroom door was hard to open and close along with patio door but cleanliness and service was great.
The alarm was gong off in the room next door 1503. I checked out at 2am.
Pool, hot tub and sauna weren’t working.
