the room was much bigger than expected, breakfast was varied and delicious, the staff were amazing (esp Kasia and Megan on reception) and the lovely ladies in the restaurant who's names I didn't get. The fridge in the room had water (don't get that often, usually tea and coffee that I can't drink) Bathroom was decent, shower easy to operate. Bar staff also happy to refill my water bottle. short 10 min walk across the road to ICC makes it an ideal place to stay for shows.

The lighting in the room was not brilliant. 3 table lights spread around the room didn't give out a lot of light so being sat on sofa didn't allow much reading etc. Could really have used a ceiling light. And the light above the kettle didn't work. Could do with bigger bath towels. I'm not excessively large and they didn't wrap fully round me. Bus service to town is unpredictable and doesn't run often so be prepared to use taxis

Very close to ICC and celtic manor

Rooms and hotel is very dated. No gym and no bottles of still water available at bar or in vending machines or provided in room. Very low water pressure in showers.

Clean quiet especially being so close to the motorway. Staff were professional, kind and helpful. Food was good. And the children ate free. Nice bonus. The Gym was well stocked and good kit.

It was all really good. But if i had to say something. Swimming pool was small. There was rubbish around the car park/ garden area.

Clean in all areas. Good air conditioning. Plenty free parking for residents. Staff polite and helpful.

Some of the restaurant staff need to be a bit more attentive to their tables. It was difficult to attract attention to order more drinks once food had arrived and at breakfast we noticed a manager had to direct staff to start clearing dirty tables .

Such an amazing weekend loved using the gym and pool made so much difference to have these facilities

Bar area, bar staff, breakfast and breakfast staff were great. All recently refurbished by the looks of it. Bartender was very helpful and friendly. Front desk in the evening got us some more pillows sent to the room.

Rooms were awful. Where the bar is modern, the rooms are like walking back into the 80's. One room had aircon, the other was broken. The shower was terrible, bath was almost worn through by the looks of it. Bed was a great size but way to firm. No sockets near the bed for charging. I think the furniture has been there since the 80's. No lift to the rooms, at least, not that we could see or were told about. The rooms area needs knocking down and rebuilding. It looks like an 80's council estate. Front desk at check out did not care about one room not having aircon 'as the don't advertise it as having air con and not all rooms have it'. But it is advertised as having air con.

The hotel was lovely, and the staff very helpful. We were attending the International Conference Centre, and the hotel was in the perfect location. The rooms were very comfortable, with everything we needed to be comfortable, including a small fridge! 👏 Unfortunately, when we arrived we found that our room hadn’t been cleaned & made up, but the manager quickly sorted that, and kindly gave us a complementary meal and drink, which was lovely after our journey. That’s what I call excellent service!

Unfortunately the air con unit wasn’t working, but we had a good tower fan for comfort.

I was not Informed the swimming pool was closed, The pool was the main reason I booked this hotel.

There was an iron and ironing board.

Room incredibly poor. Dated. Discoloured bath. Old furniture. Corridors looked old and tired. Overall vibe of the hotel was very tired and dated. That would be fine if the price reflected it but it was expensive for one night.

The staff were simply awesome.. My family and loved Cari, Marie, Liz, Meg (Receptionist) and Meg (Diner). All the staff were awesome. Surely, Holiday Inn has won our heart. Everytime I'm in Wales, it's Holiday Inn for me😍

Hard to tell. We were wowed

Beautiful hotel surrounded by greenery. I loved that i could see the trees and grass and squirrels from my room window. I also loved that they showed the world cup games at the bar area.

Ooked a room with an extra bed, when we got to the room there was no pillows ,duvet or sheet for that bed.as we had been in to Cardiff and didn't get back till 12.30 in the morning having to wait another 45 mins for bedding wasnt idael

Was a mix up with half board we were told by 2 members of staff 1 drink included with the package and on check out needed to pay for the drinks which was a shame.

The staff were friendly, approachable and always willing to help. Communication was easy and professional at all times. The location is very convenient for the ICC Wales, which can easily be reached on foot. The room itself was spacious and generally quiet. Good breakfast

Unfortunately, my stay was significantly affected by several maintenance issues. Within minutes of arriving, I realised that the air conditioning was not working. Staff were unable to resolve the issue and kindly provided a small fan instead, but it was barely effective beyond a short distance. The room remained extremely warm and uncomfortable, and I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and that no alternative room with functioning air conditioning was available. As a result, sleeping during the first night was impossible. The bed linen also felt very synthetic, almost acrylic-like, and caused itching on contact with the skin. During the 3 nights, I ended up placing the cotton bathroom towels over the sheets in order to sleep more comfortably. About an hour after my arrival, a technician came to repair the television, although I had not reported any issue with it. This was only a minor inconvenience, but added to the overall impression that the room required attention. There was also a damaged curtain, a noisy minibar, and on my last evening I found a silverfish in the bathroom. Despite reporting these issues within two hours of arrival and raising them again the following morning, apart from explaining that no alternative rooms were available, no further resolution was offered. While I understand that the hotel was fully booked and a room change was not possible, I was disappointed that no gesture of goodwill, discount, or partial refund was proposed, considering the extent to which these issues affected my stay.

Decor beyond the lobby is tired, room dated and bathroom looking a bit elderly. Shower slightly dodgy and bathroom extractor fan noisy. Window in room had a notice 'out of order' on hottest day of the year (but aircon worked)

It was close to the ICC where I had an event

No aircon in passages, couldn't bath as drain so blocked plug would not close. Also black stuff came out the bath taps.

Room was very outdated, very noisy with main corridor door beside room which didn't open or close properly meaning it was very loud banging evertime it was open and closed and shook the room door everytime it closed

80s style Hotel with furniture to match but quite liked the feel to it. Nice bathroom with proper bath. Liked all the artwork in hallway and very nice communal areas. Great to have air conditioning as well. Rooms Nice and clean.

Reception staff not that welcoming . Tv only showing 1 channel and staff disagreed with me when told. Also shower luke warm. Both these problems remedied while we were out. Porter / Barman friendly and helpful.

How they tried to sneakily sell my room when they thought I was not coming then when I come they had sold it and send nothing left for me then I kicked off and had to share a bed with a coworker.

Hi. I was allocated room 107. The bathroom had strong rotten rat smell and the corridor had same smell. I complained to reception, but nothing happened. Next day morning I complained again and the reception said they will send maintenance to fix it. In the evening when we came back it was same strong rotten rat smell. I talked to the duty manager. He came to my flat and said this is the same sewer smell they are getting in corridor also. He agreed that this is very strong sewer smell. He loved us to room 223. We shifted all luggage. It was top floor, flat roof room as AC was broken down. Manager gave a tall heater cum fan but the flow didn’t even reach the bed. It was very hot and none of us could sleep. In the morning I raised to the general manager Sue and she said they will fix the AC and said she will refund 1st night’s rent. In the evening they said the can’t fix the ac immediately and I can use previous room 107. We again moved back to 107 from 223, bathroom didn’t have smell. But in the morning we again got strong rotten rat smell from bathroom. 2 nights we had to stay in a room which was exposed to sewer.

Excellent grounds, spacious comfortable rooms and a comfy bed. Great staff - special mentions to the reception staff and the bar staff, they were excellent.

It’s very convenient for ICC with a safe pedestrian route to it. Staff went out of their way to help me with WiFi but eventually they had to move me to a different room.

Breakfast at £16.95 was disappointing - no fresh fruit except oranges, and tinned instead of fresh tomatoes. Room WiFi didn’t work, QR code on TV for food and drink didn’t work, text messages from reception couldn’t be replied to.

Zimmer völlig abgewohnt. Putzfrau stand plötzlich im Zimmer. Hatte kurz geklopft, und kam dann einfach rein. Preis viel zu hoch.

A perfect place to stay

The property itself wasn’t so bad. It was okay.

The hotel was uncomfortably hot. The night staff were rude. Our toilet was leaking, soaking the bathroom and the hallway of the room, and we were told “there’s nothing I can do about that, we’re full” I had to make suggestions for solutions, and the reception desk did not seem to care.

Pool was not working and information about it was clear, no one knew what was going on between maintenance and reception. Food at Dinner was not great, felt like reheated frozen food but priced like fresh food.

Bed was very hard. We have a sofa bed out in our room but there was little room to get around it due to the coffee table. They should have removed it from the room.

Stayed before for weekend functions. Just off the main road, but pleasantly quiet. Rather utiliarian rooms, but perfectly comfortable and decent size. Pleasand breakfast and evening meals. Function area was poorly lit, but we managed. Recommended.

Facilities were lovely and clean, the biggest bonus of all was the sky sports not only available in the bar but sky was in each of the rooms so it wasn’t just basic TV, hubby could watch the football and little one could watch Disney kids. 😊 happy husband, happy wife, happy mum, happy child, happy life

The only downside to our stay was that we were limited on times we could swim due to the pool being closed for swimming lessons, Definitely check the swim timetable to save disappointed children.

Have stayed here about 10 times and have never been disappointed (other than the majority of the Wales rugby results). Rooms have been refurbished so has really improved the place, bar is excellent as is the breakfast. Staff always friendly and eager to help - first class service.

The only downside is the look of the place it is very dated - but the inside is very modern and of a high standard.

We had planned to eat here but changed our mind and walked a mile up the road to a pub for food. At times when the bar was busy there was one staff member and later in the evening noone behind the bar we noticed a few people wait at bar and as no sign of staff walked away

Great stay. Thanks to Tarra who was very helpful during breakfast. The hotel, being close to the train station, makes the stay enjoyable.

The room was clean and very cosy and comfortable. The location is also close to ICC Wales where we attended an event which is really helpful for us.

Only thing is when we booked the room it says has a soundproof feature but we can hear guests or staff coming in and out of other room and or banging the door or people talking next door. Otherwise the stay is very pleasant and the hotel itself is so clean.
