Parking charges

I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the dining area, it was relaxed and inviting with very warm lighting. Our room was very big with lots of space to move around. It was easy to get to the location and to the event we attended. The staff were friendly and chatty. The lady that saw us at the desk with the glasses was super friendly explained everything we needed to know and gave us a map for direction to where we were going.

The chromecast link didn't work and there were no other ways to watch the tv besides live tv. It wasn't a problem though as we were only there for two nights.

It was a nice spacious room! Good bed and big window, with a nice chair… I chose here just because my friend’s wedding is at the hotel nearby next morning, but if this hotel was near the tourist destination, I would stay here longer. I didn’t have a time to use facilities nor the restaurant, but even just staying in the room was very nice.

Cost of parking as a guest

Location was great. Hotel is very comfortable and the room was very quiet. The bed was excellent and everything was very clean and tidy. As you would expect, the staff were very helpful and generally we were quite pleased and will probably stay there again

When we book the hotel, we did not understand that we will be charged £13 a night just to park the car which does seem unreasonable and added 10% to the overall bill.

I stayed here because most of the hotels in Cardiff were crazy priced as I found out it was graduation for the university. The location is remote. A McDonald’s is walking distance but nothing else near. The bed was crazy comfortable and the armchair in the room was great to read or watch TV in. Room was clean and modern with good AC. Staff very helpful but over explaining when you just want to check in to the room after a long days not so helpful. I feel for this location the £13 for parking is over the top, you expect to pay that in a city centre. Over all good stay for the location.

Really nice, modern hotel. Room was very comfortable and quiet, and a short drive into Newport/Cardiff or into the Brecon Beacons, depending on what you're travelling for. Check in online was super easy and could even use my mobile phone as the key.

Only issue is the parking charge. I don't mind a small charge for parking, but £13.50 seems a lot for an out of town hotel (eg Premier Inn over the road has free parking for guests).

Room temperature was very cold when we arrived and we was not able to get any heat going, we was very tired so went to bed,we should have contacted reception as when I raised it in the morning the Reception area was able to control the room settings and able to rectify this 👍

Decor was very fresh. Lovely wide corridors to the rooms. Rooms are spacious and well equipped.

The property was beautiful. The air con was cold. Even though it was full, the place felt spacious and relaxing. There was a gym. The comfortable bed was a super-king in our ‘large double’ room. The shower was huge. The lifts were smooth. There were luggage trolleys for hanging clothes. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I have nothing to complain about!

The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly! The whole place was immaculate and welcoming. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. We honestly couldnt fault it at all. We will be back for sure.

It would be nice if the required £50 deposit at check in was more clearly made known at the time of booking because this cut into our holiday budget.

Clean, modern facilities, looked like it had just been built. Bed super comefortable, bathroom spacious with powerful shower and plenty of storage in the wardrobes for personal belongings. The food and room service was also fantastic and staff were very helpful around the desk.

The absolutely extortionate parking prices. Nearly £30 on parking is an absolute joke. Nearly cost as much as the whole stay for the room. Scandalous money making racket when alreadh making money from people staying at the hotel. Also having to deposit a £50 hold upon check in. Should just be able to buy what you want around the hotel wheb you want without having to deposit . Guve me some issues with my bank not clearing transactions, feeling like i been double charged. None of this was stated on booking.com before hand

Staff was very rude when checking key in the morning. Didn't ask how we slept or our stay, just demanded money and too charge my visa card for parking. As for the meal also more money than the room itself and very poor quality steak and cheesecake was burnt. Not great at all and wait time was terrible for the price we paid at the end

We were very impressed - the restaurant downstairs (dinner was the best meal I've had on this visit to UK), the shower, the beds...everything was clean and comfortable, and the staff were lovely and friendly and made our kids feel very welcome.

Breakfast on the 1st day was not up to what we expected for a continental breakfast and the croissants etc were stale . I did comment to the staff and on the 2nd day they were fresh. I commented to Craig on checkout about this and he did the right thing by deducting the cost of the 1st breakfast - thanks.

I booked a family room specifically because it was advertised as comprising a double bed in addition to single beds. This arrangement was important for our stay, as my son is 195 cm tall and of a large build. The intention was for him to sleep on the double bed while I used one of the single beds. Upon arrival, however, we were allocated a double room rather than the family room that had been booked. The room was subsequently converted into a twin room by separating the beds, but this did not provide the accommodation we had reserved and paid for. As a result, my son was unable to sleep comfortably on the single bed and spent most of the night awake. I am therefore concerned that a family room was offered during the booking process and advertised as available if the hotel was ultimately unable to provide that room type. The room configuration was a key factor in our decision to book, and had we been informed in advance that a family room was unavailable, we would have made alternative arrangements. I would appreciate an explanation as to why the booked room type could not be honoured, and I trust you will consider an appropriate remedy in light of the inconvenience and disruption caused to our stay.

The bed was really comfortable and the shower was very nice. Room was very spacious and couldn’t hear any outside noise from the main road.

The staff member on reception couldn’t understand good English and struggled to check me in. Language barrier (I’m English) when I phoned reception later on the same lady answered the phone and couldn’t understand what I was asking for. There was 2 plug sockets in the room that didn’t work. Thought my phone was on charge all night and it wasn’t luckily my phone wasn’t dead and my alarm still went off.

For someone who doesnt know the area navigating the big roundabout was a bit stressful. Just so much traffic but the location was great as was the food and facilities

Modern, clean and friendly staff

We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The receptionist Gwenno was so nice and more than helpful she took us to our room on the ground floor as we had requested, she was immediate aware of my mobility issues and made sure that everything was good for me. Our trip to Newport was to enable us to attend a family funeral. We had booked a table for 2 for an evening meal so went to the bar for a pre-dinner drink only to unexpectedly bump into another couple on the same mission. The dining room staff willingly and efficiently reorganised our tables so that we could share a table. The meal was excellent as was the service. Breakfast was excellent and again the staff were very helpful and friendly. Reception...Gwenno again reorganised our separate taxi bookings for a shared bigger one. Perfect.

We would have liked a coffee in the bar after our meal but none was available as the dining room was closed. We made do with drinks from the bar instead! Why does a hotel room for 2 only ever have one armchair??

We didnt have breakfast as we were leaving early for the newport marathon - the bedroom was lovely and comfortable - the hotel lounge and bar area was relaxing with lovely live music on the Saturday night until 9pm - the overall decor and ambience of the hotel was lovely - we had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious

De kamer is echt comfortabel en mooi strak ingericht. De bedden zijn goed.

We konden het hotel niet vinden. 3 verschillende apps stuurde ons niet naar het hotel. Uiteindelijk na zeker drie kwartier gearriveerd. Bij de Receptie vertelde ze ons dat de route inderdaad gewijzigd was. Als hotel lijkt het mij dan aan te bevelen dat je wegbewijzerig aanbrengt. Ook dat je dit met de meest bekende Appa deelt. Jammer. Ook was er onder ons raam tot zeker 0130 uur veel lawaai van een groep mannen die daar stonden te kletsen. Lijkt mij aan te bevelen dat een receptie medewerker daar iets over gaat zeggen ivm andere gasten in het hotel!
