We had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms are a good size, comfortable, and have all the essentials needed for a pleasant stay. Having an in-house restaurant is very convenient, especially after a busy day. The hotel has a good-sized swimming pool, and the jacuzzi and steam room are a great bonus for relaxing. There is also a decent-sized gym with everything needed for a workout. The reception staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. I had an issue with a restaurant booking which resulted in an unexpected no-show charge, but the reception team handled the situation very professionally and arranged a refund without any hassle. Their approach and customer service were greatly appreciated. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay with good leisure facilities, convenient dining, and excellent service from the reception team.

The décor is a little dated, and the rooms, bathrooms, and showers would benefit from some modernisation. We experienced an issue with the toilet flush, but I must emphasise that the staff responded promptly and had it fixed the same day. The swimming pool booking system could also be improved. It feels somewhat unnecessary and overcomplicated, especially as the pool never appeared to be overcrowded during our stay. A simpler, more flexible system — or perhaps removing the booking requirement altogether — would make the pool experience much more convenient and enjoyable for guests.

Just love it there. One thing we didn’t like was that we were unable to have a coffee or tea at the bar in reception when we came back around 11pm We have done this before. Not everyone wants alcohol!!

Car parking charge of £13.50 is a shock - never paid this anywhere in the world. Breakfast was poor. All overcooked and bland. No yoghurt / fruit / nuts option. Machine coffee tasteless. Poor value for money.

Drink prices

The room was good and very clean. It was not cleaned my first day but after that it was. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice of food and drink.

The meal we had was a buffet in the Langston suite which on the first evening was not up to standard. The plates were cold, the vegetables were uncooked and the food was warm. This was however rectified the following evening when we had a nice meal. The staff were all very good and listened to the issues we were having.

The parking charge is attorcious. Really should not be having that at all. Room was outdated. I was given a room at the end of a very very long corridor, which took some time to get to. Bfast was average, with basic items.

We'd booked for breakfast for our 2 night stay we decided to get an early start home on the last day So we went to cancel our breakfast and told we couldn't and we still would be charged which was very disappointing and odd

The stain on the carpet, the room didn’t have any towels and I had to ring reception for them. Also didn’t like the fact that housekeeping knocked on my door wanting to clean my room at 08.50hrs when checkout is advertised as 11am.

Loved the swimming pool and gym. Was at a nice location, close to train station. Staff were very helpful. Especially Evan, who advised us about the football traffic and what time to leave hotel to get to the match on time. He also upgraded one of our rooms due to a confusion on my part on booking which im very grateful for. Also a shout out to vlad the maintenance guy, for going out of his way to help us.

We had extra early check in because our room was ready, we spent just over an hour in the spa which was lovely. Restaurant was lovely, Food lovely, friendly staff.

There was no alternative bedding except the quilt which to way to hot, so jad to sleep under a towel.

I have used this hotel for at least the last 10 years and the staff have always been professional and helpful. The room always has a dedent array of tea/coffee and biscuits as well as shower equioment. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets clean. It was nice and quiet and the bar is what you need after travelling for hours.

My mark was not higher because you can see signs of wear and tear, layers of paint, sealant used over and again. Will still use it but hope they can do some renovations to make the experience perfect.

For a 4 star hotel having to pay for car park is very expensive £13.50, the food at breakfast was very minimal and also all hot food was cold and not much verity compared to other hotel breakfast. Food was hard and not hot. The rooms were good but doors and bathroom was dirty and could hear people all night opening doors and shouting when telling reception at check out they didn’t really take it seriously just said they would pass the message on. Was very disappointed in the stay and would not stay here again. When arriving payment was required plus a £50 deposit charge that would be refunded on the day of checkout , when checking out i was asked to pay for the night again and the whole amount from the day prior would be refunded so I had to pay £129 again so in the space of 24hours I paid £321.50 was not understanding why I needed to pay the room charge again. The payment of £192.50 has still not been returned to my bank. If you are thinking of staying here be mindful of the noise and all the charges that happens.

Did not have breakfast. The main area of the hotel was well appointed and comfortable. The rooms however were disappointing. The only way of obtaining any privacy was by drawing the curtains and on a beautiful summers evening this was not an ideal solution.

At the reception Adeola was an absolute gem and then in the banquet area Tracy was amazing and her supervisor was amazing. The staff at the gym and swimming pool were snobbish and takes some of the shine off the standards others set unfortunately.

Overnight carpark charge of £13 is excessive especially when the car park signs then state that vehicles are left at owners risk and the hotel doesn’t accept liability for theft or damage. It seems like blatant robbery of already paying customers. Ordered sirloin steak and chips as room service, steak was as dry as a bone. I phoned reception to advise that I wouldn’t be eating the meal and it was removed from my bill.

Room was beautiful and clean and staff were excellent and also curtous and the breakfast was good and plenty of options .

There was a golf group of young men which were quite loud coming pass our room at 3 am on Saturday morning.

The hotel feels very old and has a noticeable musty smell throughout. The rooms were cold, making the stay uncomfortable. The only heating available was an old electric radiator, which did not seem very safe to use, so we were reluctant to switch it on. Overall, the hotel could benefit from renovation and better temperature control.

Basically a modern motel - large accessible space all round. I think it was appreciated by golfers, who were present in numbers. Spacious room. All ground floor.

Very difficult to find. We took a wrong turning and got stuck on the dual-carriageway all the way to Raglan and back. Opening the dark curtains exposed us to view from the dining-patio - there were no net curtains. Restaurant was booked up so the only place to go was the crowded bar (there was a steak house somewhere in the jumble of dual-carriageways and roundabouts, but it was too hot to bother) Location is in an out-of-town motorway junction - not pretty. Did not spy any public transport apart from taxis.

£13.50 Parking charge not made clear at time of booking and is obviously there to add yet more price to the room price. Bathroom tiles slippery, bath with shower very old and not up to the standard of a hotel in this price range. Mastic sealant to tiles and floor grubby and looks very poor for a hotel of this standard. No privacy on ground floor, people looking into bedroom windows when walking outside, no net curtain so had to pull the curtains very early. £50 additional holding fee taken from card at time of check in still not returned after 5 days, assume many people forget this and it adds to the profit pot - I travel frequently and use many hotels and have not had to pay a ‘deposit’ in many a year!. No air conditioning in bedrooms, no modern phone charging points. Some bulbs weren’t working in lamps. Noise from corridors pierces the outdated doors. Generally the hotel is quite tired and overdue a refurbishment and bringing up to date to match the prices being charged.

The Springs Health club was very disappointing, it smelt bad in the showers and they were filthy. The steam room was grubby with hair and fluff on floor and wasn't powerful, everything just felt grubby. Hot tub was closed, I spent about 7 mins in the whole spa and that was enough. really disappointing. Also bathroom layout was tight and awkward

Staff were not the most helpful when trying to cancel an extra room due to circumstances beyond our control. They quality of the room wasn't what I expected. No sockets next to bed, quality of finishes in the room looked very tired and worn out. Breakfast wasn't the greatest, I have had better from lower branded hotel chains.

The staff, especially Evan were exceptionally helpful. He gave us great advice about travelling to Cardiff for a concert. And was friendly and welcoming.

We had a wonderful stay and found the location very convenient for a night away. A lovely surprise was being upgraded to a suite for my fiancé's first Father's Day, which made our stay even more special. We were very grateful for the thoughtful gesture. Communication before arrival was excellent. We received a call on the morning of our stay to confirm check-in times, answer any questions we had, and check if there was anything we needed. This was a great touch and made us feel well looked after. The suite was extremely spacious and would be perfect for either a family stay or a special treat for a couple. The lounge area included a four-seater dining table, two comfortable two-seater sofas, a TV, air conditioning, and a wine fridge stocked with complimentary water and Welsh cakes. The bedroom was equally impressive, featuring a large comfortable bed, an armchair, two bedside tables with large lamps, a dressing table, TV, chest of drawers, and air conditioning. The bathroom was very spacious, with a large wardrobe featuring mirrored doors and a large bathroom mirror. The complimentary Elemis toiletries were a lovely finishing touch. The bathroom had a shower rather than a bath, which suited us perfectly. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return.

There were a few areas that could be improved. Our room was located directly next to the spa facilities, which meant privacy was a little limited. We found ourselves keeping the bedroom curtains closed as people could easily see into the room. A net curtain or privacy screen would be a great addition, allowing guests to enjoy the view while maintaining privacy. The room was also quite noisy at times. We appreciate that it was a Saturday night on Father's Day weekend, so there were naturally lots of families and excited children staying. However, we could clearly hear conversations and children's excited screams from the room next door, even when we were in the bedroom with the door closed and the lounge separating the two rooms. Noise from the corridor was also noticeable, particularly from guests entering and leaving the spa facilities and main hallway, with conversations and doors closing carrying into the room. We were also surprised to hear people moving around and talking in the room above, as we expected an older building to have better sound insulation. Things became much quieter after 10pm, so it wasn't a major issue overnight. However, activity started up again from around 7am on Sunday morning, which made it difficult to enjoy a relaxing lie-in. The room was clean and well presented, although some areas felt a little dated and could benefit from refreshing. Parking was located a short walk from the hotel rather than directly outside, but this wasn't a significant inconvenience. Would return, thank you for a lovely stay.

The outside no smoking area had accumulated rubbish and cigarette butts with thistles and no landscaping making it unpleasant to sit there . The fish were great .Long waits at bar - only one open . The cost of the drinks was out of sync with the quality of service .Lack of help given to single member of staff .Also ( query off duty staff) allowed to jump queue with their order. No water in room - had to take glass in room down stairs to water fountain.

There was no fridge in my room and I was staying for 2 nights. I would have expected that amenity to be available. I tried to book an additional night as my work trip had extended but the hotel was fully booked. The staff at reception did their best to try and find something for me but unfortunately couldn't.

The shower was very slippery - no mat provided. No water in the room - most hotels provide a bottle of water. There was a reluctance to give me an itemised account of our spending. From what I could gather the system doesn’t automatically show all spending - it totals it but the receptionist had to search and give four different entries and I then had to add each separate sum in order to check that the account was correct - it was - but what a palaver!! I was keen to check because, last year my daughter stayed there and the hotel tried to charge her for items she had not had - a glitch in the allocation of items which others had charged to their rooms had ended up in my daughter’s bill. I stay there because it’s convenient. I would never stay from choice

I would prefer a more convenient car park although it’s not very far, it would be a nuisance if it was wet or you had a lot of luggage.
