The property is lovely. We have stayed several times and will continue to come back. It’s well taken care of and the staff is amazing. We especially love the quaint little bar and the PAD restaurant.
Big comfy bed, access to the leisure facilities
The connecting door to the next room meant there was absolutely no sound insulation. We were kept up by the couple next door talking late into the night then woken early in the morning to hear them having sex. Not exactly the peaceful night sleep we had in mind. The resort is massive but it’s also a really confusing layout. We spent most of the morning trying to find our way around to the restaurant in the other building for breakfast and then to checkout then back to the leisure centre. I was looking forward to accessing their “2000 acres of rolling Welsh countryside” but informed there was some tree felling happening so none of the paths were open. A bit disappointing after we had been given a map, trekked back to the main hotel and the had to turn around and go all the way back again. Also, charging for parking when they know there is nowhere else to park is just not on.
Generally the hotel was very impressive and spa facilities where nice. Breakfast in the morning was quite expensive if not pre-added to your booking but the food was of good quality and a lot of variety - suitable for vegetarians but unsure about vegan optiosn.
Check in being fully digital was not really practical. The location of the manor house itself was not great, it took 3 escalators down to get there and there was food and mess scattered around the hallways, mostly there for the whole 2 days we stayed and not cleaned up. The waiter at dinner was very direct and slightly rude especially when insisting there was no money on our room to charge the dinner - there was! I even had to show my bank statements before they would resolve the issue.
Reception was very nice and helpful.
Had a steak at rafters that was probably one of the worst steaks ive ever had from a restaurant, completely bland and cold. On top of that we waited for the mini bus for 20 minutes, the mini bus driver drove in drove straight past and back out we then waited another 20 minutes out the front in the rain and Cold waiting for him to return, altogether 40 minutes wait for a mini bus after a terrible meal completely ruined the night. We then only managed to get to have one drink in the Celtic Manor before it closing due to this. On top of that the reception was cashless so I had to go to a bank to put the money in and pay my bill for the night before. The draws on the cupboards in the room would not stay in and kept sliding our causing us to catch our shin multiple times getting ready and moving around the room. Altogether considering we only stayed the night the experience wasnt too good at all.
Staff were lovely. Shuttle bus great. Food was great. Room was great.
When we arrived there was an empty wine glass outside our room door. It stayed there all afternoon and night and the next morning it was joined by a tray of dirty crockery and utensils from next door. Non of it was removed until Saturday evening when we complained about it. Didnt affect our stay but not a good look for a high class hotel. We were also told we would get a discount on our parking as we stayed 3 nights. We didn't. Parking is very expensive. Would still come back though!
Great value for money, every member of staff we encountered was excellent
Bit if a wait for fresh hot food to be replaced on breakfast buffet.
Its a nice hotel. The lobby is nice, the room was large. It has ZERO SOUNDPROOFING. The people in the next room may have well have gotten into bed with us. I have stayed in static caravans with better noise insulation.
NO SOUNDPROOFING at all. I suppose if you want a YMCA youth hostel dorm experience you might like it.
Location
Noisey, WiFi or aircon never worked in the room
The room was large and clean, with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, tv, hairdryer, iron and board. Plenty of room for baggage and a decent size wardrobe. Large seating area in front of window. Toiletries, cups and towels supplied in the bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice for all types of taste and diet. There are quite a few restaurants in the adjoining Celtic Manor hotel, to choose from. We ate at the Grill, the meal was really nice and a good size portion too. Getting to and from the main hotel was very easy and it's all connected through corridors, so you don't have to go outside and get wet if raining. There is plenty to do onsite and a lovely childrens play area. The spa and pool is really lovely, wish we had time to fit in a treatment.
The air conditioning was not the best, could hardly feel anything, so the room was a bit warm. Thankfully we were able to open the window.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful as are the grounds and the beds were comfortable. The staff are so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious.
Check in wasn’t until 16:00 which is quite late! (most places check in is usually 2pm-3pm) but when we arrived at 4pm our room wasn’t ready until 4:30pm. Then when we got to our room our key card didn’t work so we had to go back to reception and queue so it was 5:30 before we got into the room!

Nothing
Breakfast was very nice staff were lovely
The food in the grill restaurant but staff were lovely
Sadly we was put in a room where an extractor unit was right outside our window and was noisy all day and night, plus the room was next to the lift which were heard too and where also the cleaners at 8am in the morning decided to have a catch up whilst they banged and sorted their cleaning equipment, not good at all. Also the golf courses (Montgomerie and Roman road) were in rterrible condition. I accept that the sun played a part and the fairways were very straw like but sadly no excuse for cut up tee's, bunkers being remade and were ground under repair. On the saturday we were playing the Montgomerie course as the Roman road was holding a ladies competition, which meant that the mens changing rooms were closed and we were told to use the members changing, however, no lockers were available and the golf pro staff member knew nothing of the mens changing being closed and could neither deal with us not having any lockers where we need to put our change of clothes etc. Not the experience all in all I expected at such a prestigious resort.
Stayed in Manor House (Old part of the building), but the newest part is called the Celtic Hotel. (More expensive to stay in the Manor, but remarkably cheaper in the Celtic Hotel. ) Loved the experience but would probably go for the Celtic Hotel, where all the action is. Breakfast is located near the main reception. Food choices are excellent. Would recommend trying the Indian restaurant there, called Sona, in the Celtic Hotel near reception. I had the onion bhajis & lamb korma, and Pilau rice. Pad Thai restaurant's food is also amazing. On the last day we were staying, we only found out about the Melin bar, which had entertainment in the evening.
This hotel had everything you need for a weekend a gym, massage, great bar and food your well looked after I recommend this hotel. Great stop off on your way to Cardiff or Swansea
No problems
Friendly and good facilities
Only comment would be more help to find the room on arrival
Never stayed in the manor before. Have stayed in newer part of building. Manor was so quaint. Bit of a treck to main area but we didn’t mind the walking. Staff were great , helpful and friendly
Room was a little small. And dead wasps on bathroom window cill
We went to comic con at the convention centre and it was very easy to get to. The shuttle service is great.
We had no air con, the toilet paper holder was broken, the plug in the bath tub wouldn’t lift up so it filled with water when we tried to shower and the cleaners didn’t do a great job cleaning the room.
Booked a nights stay with two rounds of golf. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if a little tired and in need of some tlc. Decent shower and coffee making facilities. Disappointed the Manor House Bar was only open to mid-evening, and the Manor House restaurant was full, though the meal at Sona, in the main hotel, was delicious, and breakfast, also up there was good. Friendly check in staff, and good shuttle service to the courses. Felt like someone had done a cost cutting exercise...e.g. no tap water available to golfers at the half way house, no ice in the clubhouse bar
Nice hotel especially for events at the ICC
Due to a broken lift, room service was unavailable. Also no prior notice provided that room damage deposit had to be paid on arrival.
Absolutely not worth the price tag. Parking is quite a walk and you have to pay extra despite paying silly money for the room. The bed was comfortable but the room itself desperately needed a freshen up. Paint work shabby at best and carpets definitely needed a refresh. We requested an early check in as we were attending a wedding locally. After messing around at reception for 20 mins we had to give up and get changed in a friend’s room. Despite a helpful receptionist she was trying to contact people and was not getting anywhere. The room had been cleaned but not checked. We even said we were happy to take it but they could not allow it. Definitely would not pay that much to stay there again. Quality no better than a basic hotel.
Location was perfect as we stayed for a local wedding Staff were attentive and keen to rectify issues identified Room was large with good views Amazing to have such easy access to the resort and use of facilities there also
Bed was somewhat hard but that’s personal preference Interconnecting rooms don’t provide a good sound barrier with a neighbour who was very noisy all night long
No breakfast
Everything was fine
Amazing grounds plenty to do
The Celtic manor side is lovely and the staff that side. Pool very nice could do bit touching up in places. Nice restaurants and concierge bus around the resort
Manor house. Tatty. Tatty holey carpet. Unhelpful staff. Climb loads of stairs to your room and lift says could be under maintenance use stairs. Parking dramas. Pay for parking 13.50 a night. Pay £100 deposit on arrival for room. Pay £40 deposit to book a meal. Service charges on meal. My main meal had no potato or veg bar one onion though some did. Room needed decorating as the paint was coming off in places. Luckily, the rest of the resort was very nice. Staff wouldn't let you upgrade if unhappy on arrival and Pay for any other room. Recommend Pay extra stay in main resort. I've stayed at coldra before and that was fine. We were just passing through and had an expensive room last weekend so didn't think it would make so much difference. So much better experience from the staff in the main resort. Really dont know why they need the Manor house reception as very dated and not a friendly reception from staff. It seems a bit tucked away so lacking good standards and no information. No care to help you enjoy your stay either .
The grounds were beautiful location for us was perfect . We were in the Manor House which on arrival look stunning although inside was bear, dated and rooms very basic with rock hard pillows. We walked over side to the Celtic resort for breakfast which was delicious.
Our room was tired with really hard pillows on the bed, the shower had no water power
This was my second stay at The Manor House at Celtic Manor. I have enjoyed them both. I have eaten at several of the restaurants on site and look forward to dining at others next time I visit. There’s not much not to like. Staff were almost all very keen to assist and seemed to exhibit a genuine sense of helping guests to get about, to answer my questions and generally be as helpful as they could be. My drive from home was of over a hundred miles and I had to visit Cardiff on business whilst on the trip. So I was very tired and in need of getting showered, changed, fed, and bedded in short order. I don’t think I’d be exaggerating if I said I was becoming irritable. When I stay at hotels, and I have stayed at dozens if not hundreds, I find it convenient to book all expenses to my room by proffering my key/card and signing a chit. When I booked in originally, it was for four nights and cost £540:00. Also, there was a £100:00 payment to lodge as security for any damages or unpaid items. So, £640:00 total. I need to add that I am arthritic and walking about is painful. I ordered a drink in one of the bars and offered my card/key in evidence of acceptance of responsibility To pay. I was told that I would have to go back to reception (felt like about half a mile to my body) to OK it there. I explained that I already put a hundred pounds down as surety. This was not accepted. I was NOT happy. I dug in my pockets found some cash and paid there and then. This meant I would not have a fully accurate printed account when my stay ended. Once I had had a good long sit down, and my pain dissipated , I returned to reception to take this up with them. I really didn’t need attitude at this end of a long day. The reception gentleman, sympathised and checked my hundred pounds down surety. He then said to please enjoy what the hotel had to offer and that I wouldn’t have any more trouble. I think words may have been exchanged because everything went swimmingly from then on. (The bar staff remembered my name and room number perfectly!) Now I need to record some tiny observations that I told another responsible staff member. The controls in my room for the air conditioning were without instructions. I did my best but just turned the blessed thing off when I could not make it blow cold for me. The other thing was that my room telephone had no notice for how to reach reception. I tried zero, nothing doing, same with 100, no joy. In the end I used my mobile to ring “bookings” that yielded a response!! Any way, these niggles aside I was please to stay with The Celtic Collection as they style themselves and expect to do so again. Thank you Sir Terry Matthew’s.
3/5 Stars We stayed at the manor house at the end of July and, while the property has character and charm, our overall experience was disappointing for the price paid. The room was looking quite tired and in need of refurbishment, with worn furnishings and a general lack of upkeep. The bathroom was particularly disappointing due to noticeable mildew, which affected the overall cleanliness and comfort of our stay. The location and atmosphere of the manor house were pleasant enough, but unfortunately the accommodation did not reflect the premium price. Having stayed in other hotels that were both better maintained and offered higher standards for a lower cost, we felt this stay did not represent good value for money. Overall, there is potential here, but improvements to room maintenance and cleanliness are needed before we would consider returning.
Booking I recently booked two twin rooms at the Manor House Hotel for a last-minute one-night stay, costing just under £300 in total (including breakfast for a Friday night). Room Issues The condition of both rooms was very disappointing and well below expectations. The first room had chipped enamel in the bath, a front door handle that came off in your hand, and an empty cupboard where the fridge should have been. The second room had damp above the window, threadbare carpet, a fridge with a missing cupboard door, loose fixtures including a loose electrical wall socket, and a bedside lamp with such a short lead that the bed had to be moved to reach a socket. One room had slippers, the other did not, and neither provided spa robes. These were not minor cosmetic issues but clear maintenance problems. One room was a gift for my elderly parents, and I felt genuinely embarrassed by the standard. I felt the poor maintenance and general appearance of the room looked like I didn’t care where I had booked them to stay. This was not the case and I desperately wanted my mum and dad to have a nice experience. Service We raised our concerns during the stay. We were initially offered a move to the sister hotel, the Coldra Court Hotel (about two miles away) which we declined. The hotel did, however, provide a complimentary bottle of wine to share in the bar and free parking for my parents, which helped improve the experience. I’ve given three stars rather than two because the staff were professional and well-presented,( but there is not a professional approach to room maintenance). Breakfast was good, and the check-in system—where you’re notified when your room is ready—is excellent customer service. Spa The spa booking system was straightforward. However, the spa itself was extremely busy and noisy, with many children and families. While it’s great to see families enjoying themselves, the hotel should consider extending slots for adult-only swim sessions in the evening for a more relaxing experience. Comparison Stay The following night I stayed in a Signature Room at the main Celtic Manor Resort for the published last minute price of £182, and the difference was striking. The room quality, facilities, and overall experience were significantly better, making the contrast in value difficult to understand given the similar price point. Conclusion The Manor House Hotel rooms are in clear need of investment and maintenance. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here.
Very poor customer service and compaints service
Next door to venue for event I was attending
Complicated check in, parking, getting back to the room and finding my way out the next morning. Signage needed and clearer explanations from staff who seemed to assume I had stayed before
Close proximity to golf courses, good breakfast variety.
Confusing signages, got lost all the time, expensive parking fees. Hair dryer not working. Calls to operator and front desk ignored. Tired and dated looking rooms and bathrooms. Lift not really working also.
Amazing place, we all really enjoyed our stay.
we only had a problem when we arrived, there was a lady behind the Bar, who wasn't very helpful, she was quite rude. we just avoided her after that, and took advantage of the table service.
It had character and charm
A long way from the restaurant for breakfast. One of our party struggled to walk the distance.
Nice room. Carpet worn in few places. Plenty of room and storage. Fixed shower head which i don't like. Personal preference. Nice setting. Bar Nice.
Staff were brilliant
Nothing
everything was on point. and far exceeded my expectations. The "resort" is incredible. I thought i'd booked a little manor house. A low number chain, maybe independent. I suggest you explore. strongly suggest. I was contacted some weeks prior for a restaurant booking. I travelle 14 countries last year, this was odd. They recommended The Rafters. I opted for the tasting menu (common to a rosette restaurant but which I had to ask asked for on this occasion). It was fantastic. they had some timing issue's with it but possibly down to very fresh members of staff.
And then we get to breakfast. this was a real let down. and several other I spoke to had the same complaints. terribly cooked sausages (likely large gastronorm tray, tightly packed, not turned and not long enough and/or hout enough). An add black pudding crumble. which was bland and wet. much like the eggs. pre made toast, are you mad! cold and the butter hard. I wasn't asked if I wanted tea or coffee and what coffee I did get i'm not sure had coffee in it. I left.
Great location, staff very friendly and helpful, tasty breakfast with good choice.
We were upgraded to a Deluxe king room. The bed was king-size, but the room wasn't Deluxe at all! The carpets were thread bare! The one wall had stains on it, where a drink had been thrown up it! There were no USB connections in the room, only the old Rj45 laptop connectors! Basically the room looked like it was stuck in the 1980's but we were paying 2026 room prices. Our friends room was the same as ours with the same issues. The view out of the room was a neglected rooftop with weeds growing in it, which looked well established. Was looking forward to the full Celtic manor room wow factor, but was left well short!
Nice hotel terrible service. Used to stay here a lot and the service was much better than it is now. Bar: waited 25 minutes outside to order a drink, waiter said he was busy, next order the same so my wife went to the bar where someone still ordered on tablet then wanted to charge her 10% on her £16 aperol spritz. Said will bring you complimentary nuts (had to ask 3 times) took our drinks to another table. Pad restaurant: didn’t ask about allergies, wife said gluten free could you make egg fried rice without soya they said will check with kitchen, NO they’re too busy and only have pre-made rice. She ordered the only thing gluten free Green Curry which was too hot to eat, the waitress came over and rather than ask how everything was said how’s the curry is it too hot (experience this before). Manager apologised and said don’t judge us in today which is word for word what the bar staff had said. Breakfast: told my wife we have gluten free muffins in that section the bowl was empty the whole time we were there. I request poached eggs, waited over 20 minutes to be told sorry we have them to the wrong table. Pool: then went to the pool, was closed due to contamination. Having been many times it’s a lovely building, good facilities but everywhere we went we had terrible service!
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Room spacious and comfortable. Lots of options for dining and relaxing with a drink. Resort facilities are excellent. Very good breakfast. The big airy lobby and off-lobby dining and relaxing areas.
Expecting customers to pay for overnight parking at a hotel of this standing is outrageous. Around £25 for the underground car park in the hotel or £14 for the surface car park. Coming from Scotland, I can testify that even a Scotsman would wince at this bare faced meanness. Bedside socket and USB charging point did not work. Plug in sink stuck and can't be moved to the down position.
We were moved from The Manor House up to the main resort due to a closure, no issues. Lovely room with aircon, very comfy beds. Day time staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to ask how things were or if we needed anything. Cannot fault the day time staff.
If I had paid for the main resort, I would say it needs a tiny bit of TLC in minor areas of the rooms but as we paid for Manor House, I can't complain. Nighttime staff not as friendly. Wasn't very welcoming, didn't tell us where to go or provide any information whatsoever (check out time, directions to rooms, any breakfast available etc).
I stayed here for a conference at the ICC next door. The location for this was perfect. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. The hotel was clean and the room was of a good size. The hotel breakfast buffet was fantastic, lots of choice, and a lovely breakfast area. Because I was at the conference I did not use many of the facilities however the pool looked amazing. There is a choice of lovely bars and restaurants.
For the amount paid for the room the parking charges were very steep considering it is essentially a layby off the M4 (not in a town or city). The location was great if you are attending a conference or on a golf/spa weekend but otherwise quite isolated.
The hotel itself was very nice and had nice restaurants
The people in the room next to us were extremely loud throughout the night. They woke us both up numerous times in the night
Arrived at the destination and was treated very nicely, when we entered the room we found a double bed, my male friend and I looked at each other and laughed. After inspection we found that the double bed was in fact and 2 single beds put together and could have been split, as requested when I booked the room, also the carpet was threadbare and there was a big hole in the bed cover, not what I expect from a so called 5* resort. When I reported all this to reception there was no apology or even a suggestion that she would do anything about it, the sheet and the bed not the carpet. When we returned to our room later in the night my friend and I had to share the double bed, thankfully it was very big. I understand that things go wrong, but they are reported, especially at a "5*" resort, they should be put right ASAP no excuses, if I ran my business like that I wouldn't have any customers left.
I recently stayed at Celtic Manor and found many aspects of the hotel very enjoyable. The grounds and facilities are beautiful, and I particularly appreciated the history and character of the building. The staff were consistently friendly, professional and helpful throughout my stay, which made a very positive impression. Unfortunately, the room did not meet the standard I was expecting. It felt somewhat enclosed, with a small window that was largely obscured by foliage, resulting in very little natural light or view. The air conditioning struggled to keep the room comfortable, and the room felt quite warm and damp, which affected the quality of my sleep. The bathroom was also challenging, as it had an over-bath shower that was difficult to access. As someone with a disability, I found this particularly problematic. In addition, there was no lift available between the ground and first floors in the area where my room was located, which made moving around the hotel more difficult than it should have been. Overall, the excellent staff, facilities and surroundings made for an enjoyable stay, but I feel there is room for improvement in some of the accommodation and accessibility arrangements. I would happily return, but I would be more careful about the room type and location when booking.
Staff were helpful and room was well appointed, clean and generous size. Downside was that the shower only worked on max. hot so was very difficult to use. Phone in the room did not work and dressing gowns were missing. Front desk said management would call to discuss but 36 hours on no one has called. I would be inclined to book the main resort hotel next time.
Nice room, good air conditioning! Lovely new bathroom very good value for money
That the main building was modern and very clean
The Manor House is very dated, dark and a bit dingy to be honest. Too far from the main hotel. You had to pay £20 for the underground car park which was ridiculous. It was meant to be a special occasion, Welsh cakes and card was left for us which was nice, a free bottle of fizz would have been amazing!! Over priced for the Manor House. I booked the grill for dinner which was superb with a lovely table and views! Service was excellent.
Great facilities and staff
Booking.com site said there are free transfers from Airport, hotel says not. That misalignment cost us £100.
Have been before but the spa is now a bit dated & in need of decorating. Celtic manor hotel is superb & staff very helpful & friendly. However our room wasn’t great. Dust on floor by doorstop & bits on carpet. Couple of stains on duvet & pillow on one of the beds. The bathroom was spotless. Just expect a little better for the money.
Very lengthy, difficult and frustrating checking in and parking. Expensive parking. Difficult to find correct floor and lift to get back to the car park. I had to walk up a ramp for “cars only’ in the end. Dangerous. Carpet in my room had hairs on it and large threadbare patches bare patches.
The property itself was good.
It was all good but didn’t think our room was very clean. Bits on the carpet , marks on pillow & quilt. Dust on floor by doorstop. Bathroom was spotless though
Booking in lady Rebecca extremely helpful giving us all information as to how to find our way around the hotel.
I think it was the Merlin Bar which was a little crowded and some people turning away as not enough tables.
My wife and i always stay at the celtic manor but on this occasion we stayed at the Manor house . The reason behind the choice was that two of our children were born there in the old maternity home before it became an hotel. The staff were delighted to hear our story and showed us all the changes to the property. Our room was excellent and our stay memorable. Perhaps the management should promote the hotel so as to appeal to older couples like ourselves who had their children delivered there. I am sure there wil be many people interested to follow our expereience
We booked four rooms in the Manor House for a golf trip, It was the week in May when it very hot. 3 of the 4 rooms didn’t have the air conditioning working, I mentioned my room to reception, who said they’d get maintenance to look at it. Got back to room at 11.30pm to find it still not working and room temperature was 26.5 degrees. Also these rooms are looking very tired. Sent email to complain, and had no response, very poor customer service.
We had a comfortable stay and met two exceptional members of staff. Rob greeted us at reception and was very welcoming, interested and helpful, a very positive start. We had a drink on the terrace where we met Vhairi who was so kind, I had a problem with a bite on my hand and she sorted antiseptic wipes and ice for the swelling. She was super busy but took time out to help me which was lovely. Great views and comfortable bedroom. We could not get a slightly later check out as the place was so busy, had a bit of a “computer says no” moment, but understand it’s a busy place.
Excellent. Top notch. Staffs helpful and everything l needed for breakfast was there. Clean environment. The bedroom was clean. Bed mattress oh my God very relaxing. Everything was 100 percent. I have told my friends in London about my experience and we promise to come again.
I can't say except that l got lost twice trying to go one place to another as the place is very big. But guess what the staff l asked or saw me lost help ne out. I am great full.
The spa was nice, the pool was alright. Gym was good.
The room wasn't great, dirty fridge, blood on bedding. Got there and the hidden charges started appearing. Parking, a £100 deposit that was NEVER mentioned before arrival which takes 7-10 working days to be returned! No glasses, no robes despite seeing people everywhere with them. £50 for two burgers and chips. You have to book swimming, spa, tables...
Plenty of placed on site to eat, staff were very friendly, spa facility’s were good and the place was very clean. Handmade biscuits were a lovely touch in the room.
We liked that it was linked to the main hotel and that it was ever so slightly quieter than main hotel
When we arrived (after 4pm) we were told our room still was not ready and we had to wait around for over an hour, we had the spa booked for 5.15 so it was a rush up to the room and get ready for the spa we unfortunately had no robes for said spa so I tried to contact housekeeping and reception, went down to reception to say about we had no robes we were told they would be brought to us called the spa to say we would be running late our room had crumbs on the floor the bed was rock hard all we could hear were the people in the room next to us all night. We ordered room service which came late as they had a fire alarm go off in the kitchen when they brought the food there was no apology just that it's late because they had a fire drill went to tuck into the meal and it was stone cold obviously been hanging around for a while had paid for breakfast before hand but when we went down they said they couldn't find it I'm unsure why but we just ended up paying for it again and the cooked breakfast was cold and was like it had been out for ages. We normally love coming to the Celtic manor but unfortunately we will not be returning, to top it off the shower did not work not the end of the world as we did have a shower after the spa but it was just all a bit of a shambles.
Unfortunately our room at the Manor Hotel Celtic Manor was very disappointing. The room was very dark, carpet was worn, no bottled water in the room. Mould was around the bath which wasn’t bet View was just some bushes outside. Parking was a right pain and the cost was £25 for one nights stay. Considering we were there for a special occasion only a little card and Welsh cakes were left for us! Things could have been better as we did spend a very lot of money. On the positive side, the Grill restaurant - the food was amazing, had the most wonderful views.
Overall nice stay at the Manor House. Room was decent size, clean and tidy with nice bathroom. Manor House itself feels a little tired, bar wasn’t open whilst there so had to head to main hotel. Parking not great as only a drop off facility at the Manor House so car needs to be left in a car park nearer to the main hotel. Walk back down to the Manor House is steep or you can go through the building using escalators. Golf courses were good (2010 and Montgomerie) staff friendly and helpful.

Comfortable beds
Not a pleasant one especially with the noise. Avoid room 427. All you will hear is doors banging all night as it’s the shirt cut corridor
Location
Room was unclean and kettle had humane urine in it, staff didn’t even offer to move me to different room
Charming building.
Rooms were basic
Gorgeous to look at, lovely surroundings, majority of staff were lovely.
Food was terrible, complaint was handled very poorly, pillows in the bedroom were lumpy, and even on 9th floor it was very loud throughout the night. Considering the price of the rooms and the reviews I expected much better
Le petit déjeuner...
Le personnel au Bar, (pas cool si l on décide de boire une bière au bar , bref on kes gênait) Prenne pas le cash... Trop de monde....
Beautiful hotel, grounds and pool. Very clean room. Friendly and helpful staff in all areas. We had a delicious evening meal and breakfast. Great value for money. Definitely recommend.
Dreadfully disappointing and outrageously overpriced for what we got compared to what we were expecting. Tired and damaged decor. We booked the 4 poster room expecting what was advertised - see image below and got a bed with net curtain draped over the top which had been re-affixed many times. It was impossible to watch the TV from the bed, as per image below. Toilet cistern leaked and required 4 flushes to wash away just a tissue! The staff were all friendly and hepful.
Good facilities
The buffet dinner was overpriced and seriously lacking. Most of the items were at a tepid temperature and lacking flavour. It almost seemed like they’d made an effort to make the dishes as bland as possible?
Absolutely everything x
Always have a good night the resort
Spa are unclean
I was disappointed with some of our stay. The breakfast is a buffet which you wouldn't expect for a 5 star hotel. Alot of the carpets were worn out. The staff didn't give much information about where the restaurants or anything were. Certain restaurants are closed on Certain days. The restaurant we wanted to eat at we couldn't as the shuttle bus wouldn't take us. I wouldn't stay here again.
Love the location on the hill and the history
some of the facilities could be better
The Manor House is dated. We stayed in a four poster and honestly, I don’t think it had been used for a while. We had no robes and no hairdryer and the plumbing was hit and miss. I had a shower amd it leaked into the restaurant below!
Locality
The room
Great location. Linked to Celtic Manor resort and so easy access to all facilities. Has its own bar and restaurant. Great value for money.
Slightly dated interior.
Rooms in The Manor are a little tired and could do with a makeover. Despite managing to get a room with a walk-in shower for someone with mobility issues, the shower had a step up and no handle to help steady and prevent slipping
Everything
Excellent
Very clean and good location
staff very good room good food good fairways not good at at all
Stayed in the celtic manor loads of times, but this was the first time our breakfast was in the Olive tree and omg it was Bedlam! Worst breakfast experience ever! It was so busy the staff couldn't keep up replenishing the food and glasses for the juices or coffee. When you start serving yourself food, the eggs would run out, then when the eggs come out of the kitchen the bacon had run out, and then by the time the bacon comes out, and you walk over to get a juice to find there are no glasses for juice. By the time I got back to my table with my food it was freezing.
Beautiful location
Got upgraded to the main hotel. Given a lovely big room on the ninth floor with views across to the estuary. Fantastic choice at breakfast. Very convenient for the ICC.
Shower wasn’t powerful.
The Celtic Manor was closed, so we were upgraded to the main Celtic Manor Hotel Resort.
Most of the restaurants were closed, so we asked for plates and cutlery and had an excellent Chinese takeaway delivered, and had an excellent meal in our room.
I was upgraded to the manor resort which was very well appointed in terms of facilities and from my 7th floor room had lovely views.
Although upgraded to a lovely double aspect room, my new room had faulty lights so I was moved to a less visually appealing space. Service in the bar was a bit hit and miss with drinks charged and then not delivered and table service being hard to obtain.
It was lush 😍 😋
Terrific stay, 2 nights attending the Complex Care Forum, hotel facilities were great here and at the resort, only niggles were £48 for covered parking (raining on arrival), pool & spa visits limited to 45 minutes so not as relaxed as a spa might be trying to keep an eye on the clock and drinks were a bit steep but that's our choice! Restaurants very good indeed - Overall I'd definitely recommend because of the sheer quality!
Overall not too bad, food at the PAD restaurant was very good would recommend. We had a treatment but then was told couldn't go in pool because you need to book it which I think is ludicrous when we got to our room asked for ice bucket and 2 glasses because there wasn't any there it took 2 hours for them to arrive, also having spend £500 for stay for one night and treatments you have to pay £25 to park again I think this is discussing. Breakfast was ok got there at 10.00 am food was only luke warm Its a lovely resort and I have stayed there several times but there are always some kond of issues nothing really major but things they could definitely improve
Relaxation and awesome surroundings
Nothing
