Súper céntrico el personal muy amable
The location was perfect as we went to a concert at the House of Blues.
Strange there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom
Amazing location. Clean and comfortable room.
Room 1617 | July 22–25 We had a great stay here, especially because of the amazing location. The hotel is right in the heart of Chicago, making it incredibly convenient to walk to restaurants, attractions, and everything else the city has to offer. We also had great views of the Chicago River from our room. The room itself was comfortable and had everything we needed. The continental breakfast was a great perk and offered a nice selection to start the day. Our room was close to the elevator lobby, so we could hear the elevators from inside the room. Because the hotel is in the center of everything, there was also some city noise, including traffic and occasional sirens. It didn't ruin our stay, but it's something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper. A room farther from the elevators may be quieter. Parking at the hotel seemed expensive when I researched it, so we chose to park our rental car at a nearby garage that offered overnight parking and in-and-out privileges, which worked out well. Honestly, I typically don't have a rental car when visiting Chicago because the city is so easy to explore by walking or using public transportation. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
Location, nice room. Clean. Had a restaurant connect and a bar down stairs.
The price was a little high.
The location
Room wasn’t that clean especially around the toilet & lights were very dusty. Carpet was grungy too. No trash bags & trash cans were not obvious. For the money… 500$… should have been SHINING ✨
The location was excellent. The rooms were clean and the elevators were fast.
You are forced to pay a $25 “destination fee” per room per day; you then get a $15 credit at the bar or room service which are only available after 4:00 pm. So since we were going out we were not able to use the credit. It’s a big rip off. If they want to have another $25, just add it to the room cost.
Breakfast was fine for the price and convenient

Comfortable room, excellent location.
Location
I chose this hotel based on location to a work event. Checking in was easy and the hotel is in a prime location. Upgraded waterview room was nice and spacious. Would choose again
I wanted to take a moment to recognize the excellent service provided during my stay. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality truly made a difference in my experience. Every interaction was handled with kindness, efficiency, and care, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere from beginning to end. It’s clear that the team takes great pride in delivering outstanding service, and that effort does not go unnoticed. Thank you for making my stay so pleasant — I would gladly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future. Heidi the Manager is an incredible person ❤️
There was nothing to complain about our staying.
Tudo!!!! Paguei super caro, pra ser um dos melhores quartos e foi um dos piores. Me deram o quarto que restou. pedi com 2 camas (paguei por isso) e no fim nao tinham mais. Entao me deram uma cama de hospital.
I needed to be in town for a couple of days of meetings and I usually stay at the Marriott Magnificent Mile, but chose this hotel this time due to price. I will say I actually enjoyed this hotel slightly more than the Marriott which is nearby. Checking in was easy, quick, and very friendly. There is so much that is within walking distance from here. My room had a beautiful river view. The room looked decent, even though it didn’t have all the modern USB charging and streaming TV features that so many properties have these days. I really hate when they don’t have Pluto TV on the TV in the rooms, especially since it’s free. The other gripe was that they didn’t come refresh the room the next morning after my first night, but fortunately I had enough towels to last me the next day. They did refresh it on my second day though. They have a nice lounge on the main level which offers a full breakfast, as well as water and soda all the time. I might stay here the next time I’m in town.
In front of House of Blues
My family and I were assisted by Star and the front desk. She was so incredibly kind and welcoming! We felt taken care of while traveling with our newborn.
Great and respectful employee, very good location, clean rooms
Nothing
Location
Dirty
Location was great for window view. The bar staff was very attentive along with front desk staff. It was very clean and super updated it didn’t give you the old hotel stay vibes. My room was very cozy.
The valet parking stated that my pick truck was too big to park. I had to use a parking garage across the hotel. A couple of hours later they were parking a similar size pick up truck.
Didn't eat breakfast but a 1:00 pm checkout blew my mind. (Checked out at 11 just because that's what I would do normally.) THANK YOU FOR BEING SO COOL. Can't wait until next year!
Uhhhhh?
Everything, but particularly the location,
Nothing
Had breakfast at Yolk three times, although not part of the hotel but accessible from the lobby . Food options very good and staff helpful on the availability of gluten free and lactose free options. Highlight of the breakfast was the server Roxanne, really helpful and always service with a smile . She deserves recognition, Had a couple of dinners in the main bar and the highlight of every time we ate or drank here was the Hungarian barman called Richard , what a character, always attentive on whatever we needed and always ready to upsell at every opportunity , the hotel are lucky to have him . the location of the hotel is great , within easy walking distance to all the entertainment and touristic spots.
Asked for laundry to be picked up the day of arrival (Saturday) , pick up confirmed at reception on my way out to dinner, no one ever showed up as clothes still bagged when i got back. Called down for pick-up and no one ever came , asked again on Sunday and no pick-up. In the end bought some extra clothes and never did laundry at the hotel !
Awesome customer service
Comforter was a little dirty with stains
I cannot say enough about the doorman Richard and Eddie. They both been there for years and this is a reason I continue to choose to stay at the hotel Chicago. They are both so courteous, helpful, kind, and professional and honestly, they make my stay there fantastic. They go out of their way in anyway they can to help and assist me. They are truly valuable. I can count on them to take good care of my car or help me with anything I need.
Great property and staff!!!
Nothing…everything was 5 star!!!
I love the location and the lobby
the bedside table was in poor condition, the standing lamp didn't work and the shade on the sconce was twisted. i would call the room in disrepair. the bathrooms could use updating. the shower faucet is from the 1970's
The room, cleanliness of the room and complimentary breakfast all very impressive.
Operating the elevator was frustrating. It took several attempts before the card reader accepted room card.
Loved the big windows and room was a nice size, and nice lobby.
The $78 fee that was tacked on was a complete shock, and we could not figure out what it was for. We could not get on the WiFi despite the fee which seemed like a real money grab and definitely turned us off. Also the nightstands had peeling paint which was very surprising for a ‘nicer’ hotel.
The ambiance and location were amazing.
The $25 breakfast was basic hotel breakfast, nothing special. They also charged my room 3 times the amount and said it would drop off. It has now been a week and they have no answers as to why i was charged 3 times. I paid $1100 for a $335 room. The customer service was not helpful and I will surely not stay here again, it is not worth the hassle.
We loved the location and the kindness of the staff, let’s not forget about the Christmas gift bags.
N/A
The staff was invaluable and very nice. Also, the valet was awesome as well.
The hotel is beautiful and very nice. Beds was very comfortable.
It was a very warm welcoming atmosphere as soon as we walked in the doors the staff was very helpful and very attentive to the ones in the needs even up in our rooms. They brought us a comb and brought us a pair of slippers and a robe and AJ, the front desk was very helpful. Went out of her way to help us and listen to us. Talk about how we lost at the casino. And then of course there was the very helpful and friendly Zulayka that went out of her way to make sure our breakfast order was exactly what we wanted and help fill the card out for it. So would I come back…..? ABSOLUTELY 300% …. When I come to the Windy City I will stay here and anyone im with whether it be business or pleasure this is a place I can call home
Great location, staff is kind.
Nothing. Everything was great.
Location is everything when you’re looking to be in the (one of many) heart of Chicago. The atmosphere is upscale, sleek and professional for any occasion. Our many rooms were extremely clean and typical for the Chicago aesthetic most people look for when they visit. As a Chicago local, this hotel took me by surprise in the best way! The noise level was something different due to many events happening all at once, otherwise I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Service is impeccable. One huge shout out to Richard; hotel associate and amazing valet / person in general. Many front desk workers did their best to make our experience unforgettable. Reserving a room block for my family and new in-laws was a bit tough to organize. Overall, everyone had an amazing time since this location was uber convenient for what I had planned for our wedding. This is a perfect location; central to River North, The Loop, great restaurants / bars / event spaces for family fun, etc. Steps away from iconic buildings, Mag Mile + a short walk to Grant Park (Millennium / Cloud Gate (the bean)). Even though I don’t live far, I would stay here again just for the fun of it! Thank you to the staff for making this weekend, everything I needed and more!
I was late for sound check across the parking lot at the House of Blue but had a bunch of bags with me. Richard, not only helped me bring them all in and then took them to the room but helped me again the next morning with my check out. This was before he knew I had multiple sclerosis and had a hard time moving around. Great service with no expectation for anything except a thank you. Quality stay.
Great staff! Starts with Richard at the front desk. Clean, comfy rooms! Great food! Great river view! Great location! Conference rooms were comfortable. Hotel is easy to navigate and Efficiently designed. Nearby Restaurants & Safe Neighborhood! Enjoy the Architecture
Very nice experience! The hotel is close to everything and the atmosphere was relaxed.
I had an incredible experience thanks to Richard, the doorman at the hotel. When a package I was expecting went missing, I was extremely anxious — but Richard went above and beyond to help. He spent the entire day checking every possible place, kept me updated, and treated the situation with genuine care and professionalism. His kindness and dedication truly stood out. Richard is the kind of person who turns a stressful situation into a reminder of what great hospitality looks like.
It was in a great location and clean.
Their valet parking was extremely expensive.
Leaving four stars since the rooms were a bit outdated and dark, but if the review was solely based on the staff then it would be 5 stars plus. I stayed for a week and throughout my time they all made me feel at home. They remembered my face and always made sure I was taken care of, especially Richard. Can’t thank them enough for that!
Excelent hotel and staff! Richard was so helpful with the luggage and with getting a ride to the airport Extremely recommended!
Street and bridge were under construction but it did not negatively affect our stay. Staff was amazing!
Clean room, friendly bar and check in staff great area.
We have stayed a few times now and the service has been excellent every time.
We had a very nice stay, great location!
The location was close to a lot of the main things downtown
Wonderful restaurants nearby, great amenities!
Fans in some of the bathrooms did not work or were very loud and the AC was not as efficient as it should be but overall the hotel was clean in a great location.
Richard at the Bell desk was great. The bar staff was also excellent. Great location and room was spacious and quiet. Bathroom could use a little more shelving/storage space and the full length mirror would work better outside the bathroom.
The shopping was magnificent.
My experience at Hotel Chicago Downtown was fantastic! The customer service has been amazing from start to finish. I had the pleasure of speaking with Pat, who went above and beyond. Thank you for such a great experience—I’ll definitely be back!
Great location, but the property is a little worn down. Great location, great value, but rooms are tired
I liked the attentive staff. I liked that transportation was easy. I did not like that I was not told ahead of time about a $25 daily fee that was charged at checkout.
Didn’t know or realize that there was a destination fees . Other than that nice place to stay
The location
The rest room cleanliness and the space to hang up clothes Lighting in the bedroom is too weak
Does not honor Marriott elite program. One of the primary benefits of Platinum and higher status is late check out - guaranteed, as long as you're not at a resort or convention property or a couple specific brands. This property is not ont he exclusion list. I requested the late checkout in the app when I checked in digitally. Then again when I checked in in person. I was told they could not accommodate because they were full. I explained that I had meetings I needed to take knt he room. After requiring a manager's involvement, they said they could give me an extra hour. I walked away with that as I didn't have time to argue. I tried to move my calendar, but it wasn't possible. I messaged them through the app that I did my best to adjust my schedule but was going to need the late checkout I requested. They said 'no'. I had to link the Marriott terms and conditions in my response. Then they finally relented and gave me what I needed, which was still earlier than the 4pm guaranteed via T&C. Add to that the ridiculous amenities fee, and I just won't be back. It's a shame. The location is great. The rooms do need serious updating, and the cost is totally not worth it.
Nice central location that is a long walk or quick Uber ride from Union Station. Right by the river walk and the magnificent mile.
Charged for water in the room and bar item I did not purchase
Fantastic location and value for the stay. The hotel itself and rooms are nothing special, but still nice. Would definitely stay again for the convenience and location.
Great location once we figured out the entrance - there was road construction. Easy to walk to places and we always felt very safe. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great stay!
Great location. Really can’t be beat. Nice, large room. Very friendly bar staff. Bathroom is big enough, but feels a little old. Destination fee is a scam, but every Marriott seems to be doing it. $11 room service delivery fee is insane, but they warn you about it and advise that you use the $15 food credit (from the $25 destination fee) directly at the bar. Get a sense the bar staff realizes it’s a scam because the first couple nights they didn’t even bother charging me / using the credit as my orders were within a $1 of the credit. Overall, great experience and would stay again!
Great location! Friendly and helpful staff.
Very nice hotel. Had beautiful view of the river and was in walking distance of many restaurants. Bar staff was incredibly friendly.
Location
Front desk when I called down for microwave she came on phone and said I am assisting customers the hold will be 10 minutes didn’t give me time to respond just clicked off phone kinda rude I thought
Great stay!
Amazing
EXCELLENT LOCATION
super !!!! i love it !!!
Review: We had a great experience. The staff are very helpful, especially Demetrius. The only thing I would change is more affordable valet parking. They did offer a tip to use SpotHero for cheaper parking, but we had a late night and I didn’t feel safe doing so. Otherwise, everything about our stay was fantastic
I’m done with destination fees. The fee was not disclosed when I booked the hotel. The rooms were a little run down but clean. Staff was friendly. I am giving one star reviews to any hotel with a hidden destination resort fee. It needs to end.
There was gum stuck to one of the towels and the bathroom looked outdated, a bit old.
