Reviewed Sep 18, 2026We liked the location. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, but fresh (rather than canned) fruit would have been nice. We did not try other meals at the hotel.
Nothing really. Did not give the highest rating because the room was fairly basic and some parts of the hotel looked a bit worn or dated. However, it was quite adequate for a one-night stay.

Reviewed Sep 9, 2026The location was excellent - right on the water and a few blocks from the main city so you could easily get to restaurants and sites without the noise. The food was great and the staff was phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We were there during a heat wave and the staff quickly helped us when our fan was not working. Seeing we had two young children, they offered a second fan so we could be more comfortable.
You are next to apartments, which was not an issue other than when parking had to be careful of surroundings.

Reviewed Sep 7, 2026What a gem of an accommodation! We really enjoyed the view out of the window facing the canal and everything was clean and comfortable for us. Dinner at the restaurant with live music was also special. It was also great to have a place with free parking attached and was easily walkable to the Viking Triangle and various museums nearby. Would definitely visit again.

Our only regret is that we could only stay one night, because we WASTED our first night at a "hotel" about a kilometer down the road that was NOTHING like it was advertised to be on another travel site (rhymes with Wikipedia). The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and said it wasn't the first time someone had walked out of that other hotel to come to the Waterford Marina Hotel! Don't "dooley" as we did, and make the right choice the first time!

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Had a really lovely stay. Booked myself & my mum for 3 night get away. Ended up 4 nights due to car trouble. The house keeping staff were really fantastic as were the reception. Such a lovely break in a central Hotel . Rooms were large and had very comfortable beds. Loved the strong shower & a delicious breakfast with a lovely view over the water. Highly recommend.

Our executive double was supposed to have a Nespresso machine but that wasn’t present upon arrival and they didn’t seem to acknowledge the issue when we mentioned it was missing, remarking they might not have enough (surely you’d have one per room that is supposed to have them plus 1-2 spare for breakages?), but a while later did bring us one. The beds are also quite narrow and rather firm mattresses, but of course some guests will prefer that.

Little bit of a walk from the train station. Walking 20 minutes with luggage made me regret not taking a cab.
