Shangri-La Harbin

The hotel is centrally located in Harbin, not far from all the tourist attractions. Plus, the staff were very kind and helpful. I truly enjoyed my stay.

Room was large and well-decorated in typical old-school Shangri-La style. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. ATM Machine in the Lobby which is helpful for international travellers.

Nearest convenience store is a bit of a walk away - this is inconvenient in a -25 degree winter!

The room was truly impressive—very spacious with a sleek, modern bathroom. We were really pleased with the hotel's facilities, and the front desk staff was incredibly helpful whenever we needed assistance. A great stay overall!

Менеджер на ресепшен хорошо говорит на английском языке. Персонал очень любезный, улыбчивый. Номера очень чистые, довольно просторные. Есть все необходимые мелочи (щетки, пасты, мыло, шапочки и тд). Полотенца чистые. Постельное белье чистое. Матрас, одеяло и подушки очень удобные. Спать комфортно. Приветственное блюдо с фруктами и напитками. В шкафу есть дополнительное одеяло. Халаты теплые в кофре. Завтраки очень приятные. Рядом река. Прогулочная набережная. Мы были в середине января, было довольно тихо и спокойно.

За такую стоимость не вижу смысла бронировать этот отель , номера уставшие очень. Плюс берут достаточно большой депозит , чуть больше стоимости номера за сутки и очень долго его возвращают! Депозит не понятно за что , в номере нет мини бара , старый номер , мебель и всё остальное.

Hotel Review The room was extremely outdated, and the bathroom only had a curtain for privacy. The shower leaked water all over the floor. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable—aside from the river view, everything felt old and worn out. The toilet looked like it had been used for decades, and the hair dryer couldn’t even be used in the bathroom due to low voltage—I had to use it by the desk inside the room. It’s simply not worth the price, especially at over $300 AUD per night.

Hotel com boas instalações e funcionários muito bem dispostos para auxiliar em todo momento. Ao pedir late checkout fui prontamente atendido o que facilitou para aproveitar o último dia em Harbin. Recomendo fortemente. Existe uma linha de metrô ao lado do hotel que facilita a ida para todos os pontos turísticos sem precisar usar táxi ou Didi.

I had a room facing the river. Superb view . The buffet breakfast on level one was good with wide selections .

Towels were not changed although I had put them into the bath tub. Room maid just folded them again ! But so hygienic!!!

Nice location along the river. The hotel is a short drive from Sun Island. It is also a short drive to the main tourist spots of Saint Sophia and Zhongyang street. Bedroom was consistent with the photos. Helpful staff.

整備は古く感じでいます。 ロビーソファーの設置は少ない。 国内のイベントはロビーに大きく設置されているため、普通の宿泊客にとって違和感があり、配慮足りないと思います。

I liked especially the guy who takes care of the swimming pool and the hairdresser. Both men were extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel is rundown and needs to be renovated and an uplift. Carpet in room had many stains, bathtub was old, etc

Location was excellent. Great buffet breakfast. Bruce (customer relations) was amazing. He went above and beyond and was the incredibly helpful across multiple areas. Beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable !

Hotel is a bit old and dated. Also - if you are a non-smoker - make sure you do not end up on the smoking floor

The staff were incredible, really friendly and accomodating. They helped us navigate the Chinese mobile apps like Ali Pay and WeChat, and just went out of their way to be as helpful as possible. The children's playroom was AMAZING, and all hotels everywhere should have one like this!

The only small thing was the pool, which we needed a swimming cap to use and we didn't know that till we got to the pool. But this is more of difference in social etiquette/expectations that we will be prepared for next time as guests in a country, rather than a negative per se. Apparently you could buy swimming caps at reception, but at that point it was too late! For other foreigners, male children are not allowed in the women's changing room after the age of 2, so this is something else to plan for.

I have never expected Shangrila has a very poor condition hotel. During checkin the reception can't even speak english. Hotel lift lobby look so old. Restaurant look just like 3* hotel. Worst is the gym support staff. It was nightmare when he did not allow me to enter locker room to change or get towel. He asked me and my small kids walk half naked thru the lift lobby from swimming pool. I got so humiliated and angry by his action. All i need is a towel and change my clothes. My 1 year old kids was so cold. Sorry i have to shouted at him stupid. Breakfast selection is poor. Mostly everything is pork based. If you don't eat pork, do not buy breakfast in this hotel. Just waste of money.

Although this hotel is a bit old, it is well-maintained. Also, it locates beside the Zong Hua Jiang, it is very nice to walk along this beautiful river. The hotel also provides excellent breakfast. I would say its breakfast is one of the best that I had so far in my trips in China.

It is my first time in Harbin and I would highly recommend Shangri-la. Do note the there are two Shangri-la hotels in Harbin. This one is closer to the city and metro station 上海街 is just across the hotel. The other hotel branch is located at a newer district, large compound but further from city centre. You do get what you pay for with this hotel. Their attention to details is impeccable! Of course, I did come with higher expectations since they are an international hotel chain. Their staff here really showcased great hospitality. Ladies, I really love the hair dryer in the hotel. It is a local brand Laifen which in my opinion better than Dyson. Another small detail feature was the USB charging pot right next to the toilet seat. They also provided alcohol wipes for us to sanitised anything we want. We chose the river view room that is over looking the Ice and Snow world ferris wheel. We got the access to the horizon lounge too. They prepared a telescope at level 15 lounge for us to check out the view. Again, alcohol wipes are provided to sanitizer the lens before using it.

Rooms and staff was great, most especially their restaurant manager, Brian Lu who spoke very good english, he was accommodating most especially during our Christmas Buffet Dinner, we were a large 15 pax group and he was able to make arrangements a day prior :)

Near the Songhuajiang river, had a great view of it. The service was more than excellent. The street is one of the busiest ones. One of my favorite novel, 八月长安's 这么多年, describes Harbin and one scene is exactly Shangri-la. That's why I chose this hotel.

Still a great property after many years

Designed and built like a typical large American hotel, you would expect all relevant facilities and interior features down to shower faucet and flooring. Generous breakfast, mostly with Chinese and Pan-Asian dishes. Lunch and dinner buffet options are also available. Great Chinese restaurant onsite for sit-down lunch / dinner with business partners. Great riverside park nearby for strolling and jogging to beat the jetlag. If you don't have UnionPay credit card, there are ATMs on site to draw cash from your MasterCard and Visa.

I got the impression that in some rooms smoking is allowed. I booked a non-smoking room but still I felt the cigarette smell (though not heavy but for me it is very important). Maybe it came from other rooms or maybe because my room used to be a smoking room before and the smell stayed. Don't expect everybody at the reception desk or in the restaurant to speak English. Rather, there will be only one person in the shift and that person will be invited to come to communicate or you will be communicating through some kind of online translation app on their phones.

It was very good hotel. Staffs were very kind. Breakfasts were very good. Shangri-La Harbin left almost nothing to be desired.

The bathroom looks bit the age. Is a bit old and small, and wasn’t propelled cleaned. Pillows were far too soft.

Not a Shangri-la standard at all. The room look old, toiletries sub-standard brand, small TV and not working !!! Poor check in, attending to other things while checking me in. No concierge in helping my luggage. And horrible breakfast ... poor crowd control, squeeze, no service, many unclear table, rude chef (egg station). Super regret staying in this hotel in my first trip to Harbin.

Without improvement, it is difficult to maintain the 4-star level, let alone 5 stars, and also damaging the brand image of Shangri-la Group

The hotel is not smoking free.People smoke at the lobby and everywhere, no body cares.

We were not told of deposit and they just collected without informing. Not yet received our deposit. Poor management of controlling smoker. Our floor indicates non smoking area. But people just smoke in the corridor and room. Breakfast normal everyday the same Function dinner terrible

1. The press button of the lift has electric shock. I have to use something else to press to avoid it. 2. The TV remote battery cover is spoiled. The room furniture is not maintained. 3. The safety box is not working properly. It works for the first time, but it doesn’t work after 2nd and 3rd try. Give up.

great helpful staff, especially the concierge Bruce and the buffet manager who even speaks French. The location is great, very close to the river and short drive from major touristic locations.

Upscale hotel with charming staff and good facilities. We had a horizon room with club access, definitely worth it. I do have one suggestion. That some benches in the luggage trolley area would be useful in order to put on ice spikes onto our boots for the ice festival. They could damage the flooring if I wore them indoors.

The food in the chinsese restaurant is really not worth the money 1. Rib is very hard to eat 2. The garlic paired with wagyu beef is raw and very spicy! I’ll expect cooked garlic to pair w wagyu beef The worst part is, when we gave above feedback to the staff. Instead of taking the feedback, she ignored our feedback and replied, “ could rate “very good” for our restaurant? “

We went in winter. There was no AC, only heater. It was very hot. Though they provided a fan on my last night when I called.

I booked for two nights and the fee supposed to be charged should be 1200 rmb. But they charged from my card for 1400rmb when I arrived ,and I double checked with them about this.They told me that this was only the pre-authorisation.
