Posizione struttura
It was like spending time in paradise.
Everything was perfect.
Personale poco servizievole, struttura sporca, bagni vecchi.
The location, wonderful sea view, the grass over the beach, the stunning sunsets
It is a 5* resort, with very high prices, and I don’t expect to smell damp and mold in the room, nor do I expect the outdoor furniture to be dirty (see attached photos).
Pools facilities and the view
Reception staff not that friendly and slow service and delay, also mistakes in charges
The lobby and spa
The rooms it was loud younger party scene not clean pool chairs were zip tied together and highly over priced. We moved hotels.
It's a wonderful resort, with lots of pools, food options and the staff is very polite and helpful

Wailea Beach Resort is a beautiful property in a fantastic location. The grounds are impressive, the views are wonderful, and the resort offers excellent amenities. Overall, we enjoyed many aspects of our stay. Unfortunately, we experienced a recurring noise issue while staying in Room 5411. At approximately 8:30 every morning, employees spoke very loudly and yelled to one another across the hallways near the guest rooms. This happened daily and made it difficult to sleep in or enjoy a peaceful morning. We understand that employees need to communicate while working, but shouting near guest rooms early in the morning is poor hospitality etiquette—especially at a resort of this caliber. Management should remind staff to keep their voices down and communicate professionally in guest areas. This is a great property with a lot to offer, but the morning noise negatively affected our overall experience.
Breakfast staff very friendly. Limited offer in cereals. Would have preferred also plain yoghurt.
Location
The wait for a room to available on check in, then the fact the room had a happy anniversary card clearly for someone else placed inside it
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this stay was too frustrating not to share. From the moment we checked in, things went downhill. The front desk told us our reservation had been canceled. It wasn’t. We booked through American Express Travel, and after spending over an hour on the phone with Amex, they confirmed our reservation was active the entire time. The mistake was on the hotel’s end. Instead of starting our vacation, we spent our first hour trying to fix something that wasn’t our fault. To make up for it, they moved us from our two queen ocean view room to an oceanfront king. The view was beautiful, but for a family of four, it wasn’t an upgrade. One of us ended up sleeping on a pullout sofa for five nights because we no longer had two beds. That wasn’t doing us a favor. It was trying to fix a mistake. What really bothered me was how it was handled afterward. Terrence at the front desk told my wife that the hotel had “done us a favor” by upgrading us. That comment completely missed the point. We weren’t asking for anything extra. We just wanted the room we booked. Saying they did us a favor instead of simply owning the mistake was disappointing and honestly disrespectful. The problems didn’t stop there. The Marriott app never worked correctly during our stay, they blocked us out of our room and day 4 and had us go back and remake new keys which probably had to do with the mistakes they made at check-in. We also believed breakfast was included through our American Express booking which is why we ate there each morning, but no one explained otherwise. On our fourth morning, we sat down for a simple breakfast with our kids and were surprised with a bill for almost $200, including an automatic 20% gratuity on a buffet breakfast which is unheard of. At checkout, we were also told they couldn’t honor the late checkout benefits tied to our reservation or my Marriott Bonvoy status. After everything else that happened, it was just one more disappointment. The only bright spot was housekeeping. They were amazing. They were friendly, our room was always spotless, and they were the only team that consistently delivered great service. Also, the pool situation is frustrating since they seemed understaffed the guests would leave towels on chairs for hours and the one staff lady couldn’t keep track and wouldn’t clear them so we ended up standing two of the days for majority of the time while our kids were in the pool because we couldn’t get to a chair. I’ve stayed more than 40 nights at Marriott properties this year, and this was, without question, the worst customer service I’ve experienced. The resort itself is beautiful, but great views don’t make up for poor service. Sadly, because of the way we were treated, we won’t be coming back. I hope management reads this because this resort has so much potential, but the guest experience did not match what Marriott promises .
Blinnk Photo made our vacation! Our photographer, Jen, was amazing. Not only was she incredibly nice but the photos she took turned out to be fantastic. We especially loved the video she secretly prepared! We highly recommend Blinnk to anyone wanting a visual memory of their heavenly stay in Maui.
Rooms clean. Convenient shops close to the property.
Does not have a beach. Have to walk a lot to get to any of the 2 beaches. Got charged for garden views just to have a couple of plants over a fence, would prefer to watch the lobby view.
Had a honeymoon photoshoot. Love the photos! Great experience from the photographer. She was very professional. Andy was very friendly and helpful in helping us choose the photos we love. Highly recommend their services!
Good location on the ocean, expensive drinks, cute shops. Large property, lots of walking. Room was clean and spacious. Staff is friendly.

Writing this review halfway through a weeklong stay and tl;dr this is a gorgeous property with service that doesn't feel quite as special as it used to - and at the price you pay to stay here, it really is a bummer when anything feels off. The problem - and to be clear, it is an incredibly lucky "problem" to have - is that we've been coming here for years and have had some truly exceptional stays; unfortunately, this stay has been nice but with some hiccups. Check-in was haphazard (agent forgot to talk through breakfast & loyalty amenities and we had to double back down later; a different agent made a big show of giving us an extra breakfast coupon but she had not in fact given us an extra breakfast coupon, she also semi insulted our clothes in a way that was meant to be a joke but didn't really land; we weren't able to apply upgrade certificates and ended up in a very standard room which is the first time we weren't offered something special when an upgrade wasn't available - this is obviously just how it goes sometimes and having loyalty doesn't actually entitle you to anything you don't explicitly pay for, but as repeat customers who have been offered *something* as a sorry-we-can't-upgrade-you-but-we-appreciate-your-loyalty every other time we've been here, I'll admit we felt a little disappointed right off the bat). There have been some clear cost-cutting choices made by the property (no more free mai tai coupons at check-in, changed beach rental cost structure, constant attempts to upsell into pool-based experiences, removal of property lounge chairs likely in an effort to encourage purchasing of cabanas, no more impossible breakfast sandwiches at Starbucks, no more slippers in rooms, fewer bath amenities in room by default, etc). None of these are massive deals in the grand scheme, but when you've come to expect a certain standard of stay and that standard declines from one visit to the next, you do notice. To be clear, this is still a magnificent property on a beautiful island and the fact that so much is accessible via walking and you can really choose your own adventure (this is as wonderful a choice for couples as it is families as it is a work group) means that at the right price (or points redemption rate), others should absolutely consider staying here; I probably will continue to come back because I'm a creature of habit and this is one of my happy places. But increased prices and decreased service standards do mean that I'm no longer guaranteed to pick this property over others, and I may consider other properties after this trip.
We had a fantastic experience! It was the first day of our honeymoon, and the staff made us feel so special. Our room was clean, had a beautiful view, and was so quiet! We loved using the serenity pool and also the Nalgene adventure slides. We also loved being able to snorkel right off the hotel and easily get to the grocery store in the Shops at Wailea. We didn’t rent a car and had everything we needed!
Wailea Beach Resort is gorgeous. My family fell in love with it and we would absolutely return. The resort has an exceptionally well organized, friendly, polite, and accommodating concierge desk that helps with the scheduling and logistics for many of Maui's top attractions like a Molokini caldera snorkel cruise, the famous Haleakala sunrise, road to Hana or other attractions, but the location is also fabulous to just sit, relax, and enjoy the ocean and pool. My children loved the waterslides and would not leave. My kids absolutely cherished the experience and my wife loved it as well. I liked how the structure of the resort catered to all kinds; families, families with young children, couples, or adult groups. The spa was pricey, but worth it!
Food was a little pricey, but we had brought our own. The layout was hard to navigate and I got lost twice trying to find my room, but once you figure it out it's fine.
This property is beautiful and well kept! We went at a busy time of year (July 2026) but it was still pretty easy to get into restaurants and find chairs at the pool. The staff were all so nice and the service was impeccable! Literally every person we encountered that worked there was always smiling and helpful. Very impressive! The bathrooms in the room need some updating in my opinion but overall the rooms were nice. We chose an ocean view and it was worth it! We utilized the departure lounge on our last day as we had a late flight out and that was such a blessing! The area surrounding the hotel is full of shops and restaurants which is nice. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend!
Great location close to Wailea Beach, walking distance to some nice shops and restaurants. Good access to pools and cabanas. Yummy food and friendly staff! Our room was very comfortable with an amazing view.
Some of the public facilities like the toilet next to the Grill Bar was in need of renovation , door got stuck and hard to open, old dirty tiles. It was also quite an expensive resort and I think they over charged for quite a lot of things like the cabana use and Olakini pool.
After a disappointing photo experience on a previous trip to Maui, I was hesitant to book another session. Thankfully, I met Gary at the Wailea Beach Resort and shared my concerns. He assured me this experience would be different, and he absolutely delivered. Gary found an opening for us that same evening and was fantastic to work with. He was great with our kids, made the session fun and relaxed, and captured some incredible moments. When we returned the next day to view the photos, choosing our favorites was nearly impossible because there were so many great shots. I highly recommend Blink Photography at the Wailea Beach Resort. Gary went above and beyond to make the entire experience exceptional. The Wailea Beach Resort itself is absolutely amazing, and the combination of a beautiful resort, stunning Maui scenery, and an outstanding photography experience made for memories our family will cherish for years to come. If you’re considering family photos in Maui, Gary will take great care of you. A+++!
We selected the garden room with the tub and fireplace. It was everything we expected. Beds are comfortable. The resort is beautiful. The pools, coastal walk and beaches. Both sunrise and sunset are amazing. The food/restaurants were a bit of a disappointment. We had the buffet breakfast with our package and were very happy with the selection and the views at the Humble. However, we were disappointed there was not a nice bar and restaurant for dinner. We didn’t care for the menu selections, too narrow. The pool menu was the same as KAPA. It was also very high priced. We appreciated the shopping area behind the hotel and found the market in this area to offer some really great options. The fitness facility is well stocked with equipment in good condition.
Conforto e limpeza.
Wailea Beach Resort exceeded every expectation, and I came in with high ones. I surprised my mom with this trip, and watching her reaction when she saw the property for the first time is something I'll never forget. By the end of our stay she told me she could live here forever and that she wants to make this a regular trip to this specific resort. (She's visited Maui many times before so that says a lot). From the moment we arrived, the warmth of the staff set the tone. We were welcomed with fresh fruit and leis, offered golf cart rides anywhere on the property the second we needed them, and never once felt like we had to ask twice for anything. We even got a text after our first night asking if there was anything they could do to improve our stay. Everyone we encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there and that energy is contagious. Our room had an ocean view that swept us off our feet. Waking up to that every morning and being able to walk directly from our room to the beach in seconds made the whole stay feel otherworldly. The property sits nestled between two beautiful golden sand beaches, and the access couldn't be easier. The highlight of our entire trip was snorkeling with Joy. She took us out on kayaks to Paeahu Reef - right in front of the resort - and it was one of the most peaceful, beautiful experiences I've ever had on a trip. Joy is clearly someone who has spent years getting to know this reef. She knew exactly where to take us, pointed out species we never would have spotted on our own, and led us through these stunning underwater arches that felt like something out of a nature documentary. We saw an incredible variety of fish and felt completely safe the entire time. She was knowledgeable, joyful like her name, and the kind of guide who makes you feel like you're the only guests she's ever taken out. If you stay here - book the snorkel experience with Joy!! Don't skip it. Beyond the water, the resort itself offers so much to explore. The pools are beautiful, the adults-only Olakino wellness pool is a dream. There are bikes to rent, beach chairs, lei making, cultural activities, and enough to fill two weeks without ever leaving the property. It never felt overcrowded, the vibe was relaxed, intentional, and quietly luxurious. My mom said she wants to come back every year. I think she's right. If you're looking for a place in Maui that balances world-class amenities with genuine Hawaiian warmth and direct ocean access to one of the most beautiful reefs on the island, this is it. We will absolutely be back. Thank you, Wailea Beach Resort for a 10/10 stay!!
Nice and big
Leni - was the most welcoming concierge we could have asked for! She was more than generous and kind enough to share her story with us! We instantly felt at home with her behind the desk!
This hotel is all about selling more. Most of the rooms appear to be noisy. As titanium elite, we did request and receive a quiet room - our only benefit at this hotel for our loyalty to Marriott. The best thing about the hotel is the walking path on one side and the outstanding shopping/dining center on the other.
Very comfortable beds, nice and clean rooms, pools are great not too overpopulated + waiter/waitress service by the pools and at restaurants are both great. Short little walk to the beach also!
I liked the property itself. The water slides are nice. It’s a bit maze like and hard to navigate, but it’s beautiful. It’s a little bit more rundown in the hallways than I expected it to be for the price.
Some of the lifeguards at the Kids Nalu adventure, Pool did not pay attention to what was happening at the pool at all twice I saw fights between older children and parents of younger children for a rough housing too much. It seems that they don’t pay attention at all to how hard some of the older kids play. I think there should be some more rules at the Nalu adventure pool because a few bad apples ruined the day for everybody also another lifeguard was just playing basketball with himself the whole time and so it seemed kind of strange like he wasn’t actually doing his job. I had to grab a bartender to intervene with a mom who was trying to go hands-on with some 12-year-old boy who had pushed her son and though a lifeguard just completely ignored the whole situation it seems to me that they really need to have not a ton of rules, cause it’s supposed to be fun but a few more rules about how difficult and hard the kids play in the pool.
My wife, daughter, and I spent a wonderful week in room 7123 and can’t wait to get back. We arrived around midnight and were greeted with a welcome beverage and leis. The nice folks then loaded our luggage onto a golf cart and drove us to our room. We were pretty spent from a long travel day, and quite relieved to find a very comfortable bed waiting for us. Our room was of the “partial ocean view” variety, but I’m pretty sure quite a few other resorts would have left off the “partial”. We had a great view from the first floor (pic included). The next morning was our first experience with breakfast at Humble Market Kitchin (yes, that’s how it’s spelled). We were fortunate enough to have Kate as our server. She was so great we asked for her every morning. She learned our drink orders, took great care of us, and gave us great recommendations for cheap and free things to do around the island. In the off chance you read this, Kate, you’re a superstar! The breakfast buffet was really good, with changing offerings each day. My daughter particularly liked the mochi waffles and pancakes, and the bacon was always perfectly crisp. We ended up eating there every day aside from one when we had a very early start. That first full day was one of relaxing by the pool. Since our daughter (10) was with us, we spent essentially all of our time at the Nalu Adventure Pool. It has four water slides, including the longest one on Maui. There’s also a full service bar, plenty of shade, and poolside dining service from the nearby Mo Bettah food truck. Near the Nalu pool is a pavilion with a ping pong table. My daughter dragged me over there several times for a game. She was determined to beat me on our last day there, but we arrived to find that somebody had lost the ball. I went to the bar to see if they had more. I’ve got to give a big shout out to Maliko (I sure hope I’m spelling that right) at the analysis pool bar. He got right on the phone and had somebody bring us some ping pong balls in a matter of minutes. Thanks to some creative scorekeeping, the kid was finally able to beat me. We also had dinner from Luigi’s Andiamo Pizza one night. It was great, and bigger than we expected. We all got our own pie, but could have easily gone with just two of them. Our last night there we ate at Kapa near the ‘Ohi Pools. The pan seared daily catch (blue marlin that particular night) was fantastic. It was perfectly cooked fish, tender gnocchi, and vegetables with a very well balanced lemon and caper sauce. From check in to check out, everybody we encountered was friendly, helpful, and an embodiment of Aloha spirit. The grounds of the hotel are well kept, clean, and very user friendly. It is a large resort, but the buildings are spaced and angled in a way that make it feel much smaller and more intimate. That said, the abundant hills and stairs may present challenges from those with mobility issues. Given the number of golf carts on hand, though, I’d imagine they’d be happy to help shuttle folks around if necessary. We kept ourselves pretty busy while on the island, so there were some things at the resort we didn’t get to check out. Whale’s Tale coffee is right down by the water. It looks like a great place to have a cup of coffee with a ln ocean view. We also didn’t get to go to the Te Au Moana luau. Our rom did have a view of the luau grounds, though, and it definitely looked like a good time. Since the kiddo was along for this trip, we didn’t get to take advantage of the Maluhia pool or Olakino Wellness experience. That just sounds like an excuse to go back! I’d highly recommend Wailea Beach Resort if you’re heading to Maui. It’s in a great location for beach going, shopping (right next door) and relaxing. It’s the perfect home base for exploring the island. The people and property were fantastic, and I’d absolutely love to return. In the interest of not sounding like an ad, I should probably issue a couple of very minor warnings. First, the air conditioning in the room was…adequate at best. It seemed to always be warmest at night in our room. I’m more sensitive to that that a lot of people, though. If you are too, I’d recommend bringing a fan. Secondly, our building (Hale 7) was right next to the luau grounds. It looked and sounded like a great time. If you’re an early to bed type who’s sensitive to noise, though, it might be a good idea to request a different building. It was never an issue for us, but I can see how it might be for others. Neither of those things would impact my decision to stay again or to recommend it to others. This is a fantastic place to stay and play at a great value. If I have anything to say about it, we’ll be back in the future.
Stayed here a second time in May 2026. Just as wonderful as I remembered. Great location and even better customer service. First Review Dec 2024: I haven’t written a review for a really long time. But I loved my time at the Wailea Beach Resort so much, I wanted to share. Not only was the hotel lovely but the people who worked there made my experience 1000% better. My stay would not have been anywhere near as special without my pre-trip help from Zelie (guest experience expert at the wailea). She also was at the resort during my stay and helped solve a small issue for me. I loved the Olakino pool experience. I was looking for relaxation - this was it! The poolside live chill music and beach lounger massage were perfection. There’s something for everyone here. If you’re a family, a huge kids pool with slides, relaxation (see above), and boarded by gorgeous beaches. For dining, we were lucky enough to see whales and turtles from the Whales Tale and Humble Kitchen was delicious. I loved my stay here and just wish it had been longer. Thanks again for helping make it special; Zelie, Gerlie and Kayln!
The amazing view from our room, the infinity pool, the environment
Only thing I didn’t like was that CASH was not allowed, they had a machine where you buy gift cards instead, sometimes there was a line, it was a little bit annoying, otherwise the property was very pleasant and relaxing, our server at the pool was 10/10.
My wife and I stayed 4 nights on Maui at the Wailea Beach Resort. We had often seen this property on previous visits to Maui, so we decided to give it a try. It was a nice mellow stay. We got room 2216, which is about as oceanfront as possible at this resort. Beautiful view and relaxing sound of the surf. The coast in front of the property is rocky. It's a reasonably short walk to two separate beaches to the north and south. The room was nice, but not quite as posh as other places we've stayed in Hawaii at a similar price. The usual amenities like a coffee maker, safe, iron, and etc. However, no bathrobes or slippers. There are several pools, including a kid's pool with water slides and fountains. I think kids would like it. There's also an adult pool with a great view. It was quite crowded. The resort does not have its own breakfast restaurant. We were given coupons we could redeem for a very basic breakfast at Starbucks or Whale's Tail coffee house. We also splurged one morning and went to the on-site Humble Market Kitchin for a $49 per person breakfast buffet. It was, sadly, somewhat uninspired. We tried the KAPA Bar & Grill for lunch. Their Kalua Pork Tacos were amazingly good. Like all the resorts on this stretch of Wailea coastline, this is a big, sprawling property. That makes them seem a bit impersonal.
Perfect location. Easy access to shopping, dining and beach. Incredibly welcoming atmosphere all day every day. Special thanks to amazing manager Frank Frank! Comfortable rooms, impeccable housekeeping, ideal pools. Excellent value. It’s everything you need. A must stay resort to which you’ll return again and again.
My husband and I stayed here five days during the second half of our honeymoon in May. It's a nice hotel, but we preferred The Grand Wailea, which is a short walk up the beach. We stayed in a standard room that was quiet and had a comfortable bed but definitely needed improvement (shower leaks, mirror cracked, few outlets, etc). Housekeeping worked differently than what I've experienced before, in that they don't pick up any trash or arrange your clothes neatly. The views are incredible at this resort! I can't imagine better. The service from Brad and Lanze at the adult-only pool was exceptional! Would not recommend one of the other smaller pools though- it was super cloudy every day. The food from the bar/grill is fine. The Wi-Fi is not good at all. Loved the short walk to The Shops at Wailea.
No es bueno, para el nivel del hotel y el precio
Te cobran todo, y al final de una cuenta de casi US$ 8.000, que cancelé al hacer el check out me hicieron un cargo sin preguntar de más de US$ 400, lo que me parece inaceptable
Our family enjoyed a stay at the Wailea Beach Resort in Maui from April 1-4, 2026. We honeymooned at the resort 20 years ago, and returned with our teenage daughters. Our youngest daughter has food allergies to egg, peanut, and tree nut. In advance of our stay, we contacted the resort in regards to an allergen menu. Mr. Charles Anders replied in advance with a personalized menu for her, which was beyond our expectation. This allowed her to enjoy food options beyond our typically conservative choices, which greatly enhanced the enjoyment of her and our stay. We appreciated the personal care and accommodation to her needs. Mahalo and thanks again for your efforts!
Nice view and location
Staff not so friendly and with attitude, food was unbelievably expensive without being special. Other much more luxury restaurants nearby charge less than this hotel.
Everything!! We had such a great time, rooms were great, staff were sooooo friendly, food was awesome! Pools super nice! The beach area super nice, we loved everything!
Maybe cocktails a bit pricey… but they were really nice 😊
The Marriott Wailea was very nice and huge! It was in a great location next door to the Grand Wailea Hotel. Beautiful beach walking path to all the hotels including the Four Seasons and the Fairmont. The Wailea Mall is also walkable with limited shops. The Marriott has a free shuttle to many area restaurants. We had an ocean front room that was comfortable and clean nothing extradionary. The best part of our stay was the new wellness spa pool Olakino. You pay extra per day or 1/2 day. Adults only, plush lounge chairs, big umbrellas, personal service, your water glass is never empty. The staff was incredible and knew you by your first name. Gorgeous view, live music, 2 passed snacks. Yes it comes with a price tag but well worth the price of admission. Cheers to the incredible staff at this pool! I traveled with my husband and another couple no children. But if you are traveling with kids there was a tremendous amount of activities for them. The food selection on the property was great-Starbucks, pizza and 2 other restaurants on site.
Wailea Beach Resort delivers that easy Maui calm, with ocean and mountain views that steal the show from the moment you arrive. Check in was friendly and smooth, and the open air lobby sets the indoor/outdoor rhythm of the stay. Our room was lovely, with a balcony overlooking the ocean which was simple, comfortable, and exactly what we were looking for The hotel has a lot of great amenities: The adults only infinity pool was incredible with its panoramic views, the gym was solid for a quick workout, and the small on-site shops added a nice touch. The bartenders at the bar by the infinity pool were great, creating a memorable experience The resort is large, so navigating to the room took a bit of time, but it didn’t detract from the overall experience. It also helped to get some steps in! A beautiful & relaxed stay that felt like the perfect Maui experience.
I am rating this property based on 13 specific criteria on a 1-10 scale: 1. Overall rating and vibe: 10. Awesome family-friendly resort with great vibes, incredible ocean views, and strong value for your money. Rooms could be renovated to be larger, and have much larger bathrooms and more Hawaii-specific decor, but the public areas, pools, waterslides, and staff here are 10/10! 2. Service: 10. Every single staff member with whom we interacted over our 3 days here showed genuine “Aloha Spirit." While the service is not as intuitive or seamless as the Four Seasons, it is still extremely elevated and made us feel more like we were staying at a luxury-branded Marriott property (e.g., St. Regis, Edition, or Ritz-Carlton). 3. Room: 8.5. The room had a gorgeous oceanfront view and gorgeous Instagram-worthy sundeck. However, it also had low ceilings and a small bathroom (with no bathtub, no separate WC, and only a single sink). With renovations that expanded the rooms in size, this place would be a St. Regis/Edition, because everything else about the property exudes true luxury. 4. Complimentary amenities: 10. Many complimentary amenities in stark contrast to neighbor "Grand" Wailea which offers ZERO. At check-in, adults and Keiki are greeted with leis, chilled POG juice, and chocolate bars. The resort has a long list of complimentary activities. Sunscreen by the pools is complimentary. Kids under 5 eat free. The front desk offers complimentary daily amenities, often chocolate bars. Complimentary fresh fruit and extra bottled water was delivered to our room upon check-in (along with a card) to recognize my milestone birthday. There is a great, complimentary arcade room which my 3 kids LOVED. 5. Pools: 10. Amazing pools. 3 oceanfront infinity pools (2 of which are adult-only), plus the family-friendly Nalu adventure pool. The only change I would recommend is to switch the adult-only status of the Maluhia and Ohi pools so that the family-friendly pools (Nalu and Maluhia) and the adult-only pools (Ohi and Olakino) are located next to each other. 6. Cabanas: 9.5. Incredible service at the cabana we rented next to Nalu pool. The only reason I do not give a 10/10 rating here is that $400 is a bit steep, when compared to neighbor competitors Four Seasons (free cabanas) and Fairmont ($300 cabanas). However, compared to the neighbor “Grand” Wailea’s WILD price-gouged ($3,600+tax) cabanas, $400 per day seems reasonable! 7. Waterslides: 11. The Nalu adventure pool has 4 waterslides. 2 of them are big and have 48” height minimums. The other two are small and perfect for 2-5 year olds. The Big Kahuna was by far my favorite of all the resorts in Wailea we stayed at on this trip. At 325 feet, it is also the longest resort waterslide in ALL of Hawaii. The Wailea Wipeout is for thrill-seekers. By contrast, the Big Kahuna offered a calm ride so approachable that even my 71-year-old parents LOVED it! 8. Cleanliness: 9.5. Excellent cleanliness throughout the resort. The only deduction here is because housekeeping here is only ONCE daily, meaning they do not provide any evening turndown service (which is standard at the Fairmont and Four Seasons). 9. Family friendliness: 10. The Arcade is a massive hit with kids, but there’s also the Nalu adventure pool with its waterslides and waterfall-showered grotto, as well as life-sized chess, corn hole, etc. Extremely family-friendly resort! 10. Dining: 8. Superb service and food at Kapa for dinner. Exceptional service and food at Humble Market Kitchen for breakfast buffet, which includes GF pancakes and waffles, which were a huge hit with my 2 Celiac kids. However, when we ate dinner at Humble Market Kitchen, the service was austere and lacking in “aloha spirit,” and the food quality was underwhelming. 11. Luxury: 9. Everything about this property exudes luxury and is very design-forward, except for the undersized, austere rooms. If this property renovated its rooms to be 1.5-2x larger, its bathrooms to be 3-4x larger and include tubs, separate WCs, and dual vanities, and raised the ceilings by 1.5x height, it would easily qualify to be re-branded as a St. Regis, Edition, or Ritz-Carlton property as opposed to a standard, 4-star Marriott. This resort has rightfully earned the AAA Four Diamond Award and Forbes 3-star (“Recommended”) rating. With the above room renovations, this property would be worthy of AAA Five Diamond status, and would be on the cusp of Forbes 4 or 5 stars, as well as Michelin 1-2 keys. 12. Room for improvement: 9. Three ideas for improvement: (1) switch the “adult-only” status of Maluhia and Ohi pools such that the neighboring Olakino and Ohi pools are adult-only, and the neighboring Maluhia and Nalu pools are family-friendly. (2) Train dinner servers at Humble Market Kitchen to exude more “aloha” warmth. (3) Renovate the rooms and bathrooms to be much larger. 13. Value for Families with Kids: 10. Incredible value for families with kids, in stark contrast to the neighbor “Not Grand” Wailea, which offers ZERO value to its “guests."
We had a wonderful week-long stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel. The property was clean, spacious, and very well maintained. The grounds are beautiful, with a walking path and stunning ocean views that made it easy to relax and enjoy the setting. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly, and attentive. The pool areas were well stocked with plenty of towels and chairs, which made our days there easy and stress-free. There are several on-site dining options. While they are on the pricier side, we found that to be consistent with most places on the island. The shuttle service to nearby restaurants and the golf course was a great perk and made getting around very convenient. Two employees truly made our stay exceptional. Paige, who served us twice in the restaurant and once at the pool, went out of her way to make our kids feel special and included. She was incredibly warm and engaging—we were always happy to see her. In fact, we changed our dinner plans on our last night just so we could dine where she was working because our kids were so excited to see her again. Arman at the front desk also went above and beyond to help with a request, and did so with genuine kindness and professionalism. His friendliness really stood out. We loved our stay and would happily return.
The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Having multiple pool options was nice. All the staff were very friendly. The location is great with an easy walk to the Wailea Shops.
My only complaint is the price. Do you really need to charge $25 for a Mai tai in a plastic cup?
The resort was beautiful and great location. The rooms were spacious.
The price per night was alittle high
This is a wonderful resort hotel. It is in a delightful setting close to shops and restaurants. Families will find it enjoyable. Friendly and helpful staff are a plus. A delightful costal trail is very popular. Shuttle service is available. Room quality is up to Marriott standards for a resort destination and the pools and grounds are well maintained.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the location, views, amenities, service, food quality and selection, activities, and amazing beaches and pools!!!! Mahalo for a wonderful stay!!!!
This place couldn't be more perfect! It is right on the shore and the property is huge! There is 5 pools, a couple restaurants, and a beautiful beach walk that connects a bunch of the resorts. We ere always able to find a chair at one of the pools any time day. They also have 2 beaches that. you can go to. It is great, you can snorkel right off the Beach. The staff was amazing. They were very attentive and did a great job of checking in with you and offering suggestions if you were looking for activated etc.. I. honestly could not recommend this place more.
We had an absolutely incredible experience at the Wailea Beach Resort Marriott, Maui, and it’s entirely thanks to Adrian Morales. After multiple flight cancellations left us stranded in Maui, we found ourselves in a stressful and uncertain situation, especially traveling with both our family and my in-laws. On top of that, Maui was experiencing torrential rain, flooding, and road closures. It could have easily turned into a very difficult trip. Then we met Adrian. He stepped in with urgency, empathy, and an incredible level of care. Not only did he find rooms for us on short notice, but he secured an oceanfront room as well as another room with perfect access to the pool. He was extremely accommodating and thoughtful in every detail, making sure both sides of our family were taken care of. What stood out most was how genuinely he cared. Adrian didn’t just solve a problem, he completely changed the trajectory of our trip. In the middle of chaos and uncertainty, he created a sense of calm and turned our stay into something truly special. The resort itself is an absolute oasis in one of the most beautiful parts of our country, but it’s people like Adrian who make the experience unforgettable. We are incredibly grateful for everything he did for us. If you have the chance to stay here, you’re in amazing hands. And if you’re lucky enough to work with Adrian Morales, it will elevate your entire experience.
The Marriott is in the middle of Wailea, very close to the water and not far from the beaches. It is an older hotel but it has been recently expanded and updated and is very comfortable. Going in the second week of January, we found our room was an excellent value and there were very few kids during that week. As a Marriott Gold, we received an upgrade to an oceanview room. The hotel is a short walk to the Shops at Wailea, which we visited almost every day for dining, shopping, groceries and entertainment. We also enjoyed the luau onsite at the hotel. The only downside to our room was the long and winding walk to the main desk and restaurants at the center of the hotel. It took us almost two days to get back and forth without getting lost.
Fantastic place. Utterly fantastic. Stayed for 5 days, 2 rooms -- both ocean view, one king, one double queen. We had requested adjoining rooms, but they couldn't accommodate that request. However, the front desk personnel (all incredibly nice, friendly, helpful and terrific) worked really hard to get us as close as possible -- we ended up only a few steps apart in gorgeous, spacious rooms overlooking one of the pools with a front row seat to all the whale activity and boats going back and forth to Molokini. The lobby area alone is incredible. There's a movie theater in the building -- just walk in. On-site restaurants were absolutely great, but if sit-down dining doesn't appeal, there's also a Starbucks and a pizza take-out place on-site. Nothing in Hawaii is inexpensive anymore but this felt like you actually got your money's worth. Oh, and don't forget the continental breakfast included -- every morning we'd stop by the Starbucks and get our complimentary coffee or tea, fruit cup (3 different types of fruit chunks in a good-sized container), and pastry (varied from a big chunk of banana bread to more sugary bearclaw-type pastry. We visited 4 islands and stayed in upscale hotels on each island, but this was, by far, the absolute best. We didn't even see all the property, which is huge, has multiple pools and seating areas, walking trails, etc., and probably a lot more we never got to. We'd have probably been better off if we'd just stayed here for 3 weeks. Fantastic people (front desk, bellmen, housekeeping, maintenance), fantastic location, fantastic rooms (did I mention the snuggly robes in each room?) -- cannot recommend the Wailea Beach Resort highly enough!! Loved it!!
Great beach for swimming, snorkeling, and boogie boards. Small parking lot, get there early. We arrived at 8 a.m. and parking was 3/4 full. Entrance a little hard to find. Very small sign. Located between the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea Resorts. Set up in the middle of the beach. Resorts set up lots of chairs and umbrellas on either side. Snorkel near the lava rocks to the left for best fish and coral.
My husband and I are truly impressed by a hotel front desk staff, Ms. Shanley in the evening of February 27/ 2026 ref. Room type upgrade. Not only a great problem solver but also Ms.Shanley is best at service minded. Building customer believes in Hotel brand royalty which cannot be replaced with AI. In our case, Ms. Shanley tried her best very professionally. We are really appreciate it. Thank Marriott for always pick all the best for customers and big thank to Ms. Shanley. Everyone was super nice
Nothing
We just got back from a wonderful trip to Wailea. The Marriott Wailea Beach Resort sits on prime real estate in Wailea, you cannot get closer to the ocean and the scenery is second to none. The rooms and the pools are fantastic but it is the staff who make this hotel a must stay. The front desk staff are so professional and welcoming. Ves and Terrence went above and beyond to welcome us, the room attendant made sure the room looked brand new every day and the pool service was excellent. Thank you Wailea Beach Resort for a beautiful family holiday!
The resort is beautiful and we really enjoyed it last year so we decided to book again this year. Honestly I was disappointed! I had called a couple of days before to request the same ocean view room we had and was told it was booked, which of course I understood, but they could put us in the same building a few rooms down, no problem. At check in I was told it was another building ( close by) but it definitely wasn’t in a quiet location which is what I requested. We were right across from where housekeeping got their carts and on the tile floor it was loud. At check out they never even asked if we enjoyed our trip, they didn’t care! With all the other resorts near by I think I can do better!
Absolutely loved this resort in Wailea. A tad more affordable for what is possible beachfront on Maui. Fantastic atmosphere and rooms. Solid service with a welcome beverage. I got an upgrade due to my platinum status. Their breakfast rice on the breakfast buffet is literally worth the trip. The pools are nice with varying vibes and the activities on property like yoga and fresh flower lei making are a highlight. This is my top pick on Maui for experience, value and somewhat reasonable pricing - even though it’s a bit more than other places, it is worth the price. Also very close to all the restaurants and the grocery stores you could want within walking distance!
It is ridiculous to pay almost a thousand dollars a night and not have an available lounge. Unoccupied lounges are all “reserved” with towels and personal items all day. Management should post signs and should remove towels and personal item from unoccupied lounges.
We are currently on our way home and I felt so inclined to write a rave review for the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort. From arrival, the lobby views are stunning, check in provided us with lei’s and two stuffed turtles for our daughters (ages 9 and 6.) We upgraded our room to a partial ocean view and worked with the hotel manager Maricel who was lovely and very responsive. We stayed in room 7200 and the ocean view was AMAZING! We really enjoyed listening to the waves crash and having coffee/happy hour on our terrace. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our kids loved the water park, which Maricel so kindly put our room nearby. The staff there (Shay) went above and beyond to entertain our kids and assist with a scavenger hunt. They bring out complimentary ice pops, waters, banana bread, etc throughout the day, which is a really nice touch. We ate at Kapa twice, the food was excellent, the view and live music were great. We would definitely come back here and hope to come sooner than later from the Northeast. Highly recommend this hotel!
Everything was perfect I have no complaints about the property or the staff! The bartenders at Humble Kitchen are the best on the island and the drinks were out of this world! The room was comfy and clean, pools were amazing and not packed with kids accept in the kids area. The slide is crazy fast and I loved it! Breakfast was phenomenal and the views are out of this world. The hubby and I come every anniversary and this is the only place we stay!
Only complaint is the wings at humble market changed since the last time we were here they didn’t have any sauce like normal they were kinda dry and chewy. When we came in 2024 they were crispy and perfectly sauced. Not sure what happened
Location, pools, peach access, design/layout of the resort, staff were very friendly.
Some amenities/facilities are out dated.
The location was amazing next Wailea Shops, and very nice view to the ocean.
The hotel looks and feels very old, needs refurbishment. And on top of all, the cleaning wasn’t good at all (dirty robes, lots of dirt in the bathroom etc…). The housekeeping was very loud on the corridors and banging doors and screaming….
Beautiful views, multiple pool and great location.
Nothing.
Wszystko TOP !!!!
We had a great stay overall at the Wailea Beach Resort, and the staff is hands down the best part. Everyone we dealt with was kind, patient, and genuinely helpful. Our first room was well…a choice. It was right off the lobby next to the elevators, which meant we didn’t sleep at all. Think kids screaming, valet carts clanking across tile, elevator dings, and general chaos at all hours. It felt less like a luxury resort and more like trying to nap inside an airport. After two nights of this, we asked to move and the staff was understanding and quickly relocated us to a much quieter room. Major improvement. Fair warning, though, this is not a quiet resort, especially during peak season. There are a lot of kids. There are a lot of doors slamming. Even in the quieter areas, peace and silence are not guaranteed. The overall crowd was pleasant and not your typical trashy cruise ship energy, except when it comes to pool chairs. The towel reserving situation is next level. The resort has a 45 minute policy for unattended towels, but enforcement is hit or miss. Multiple days there were zero chairs available anywhere, yet plenty sat empty for hours with their unworn hats and unread books and uneaten pringles cans. The property does have two beaches, one on each side of the hotel, which is a big win. The reefs were plentiful, although clearly struggling, and we saw tons of sea life snorkeling right off the beach. We watched paddle boarders repeatedly ask where the fish were, which makes sense because from a paddle board you see… water. If your goal is sea life, paddle boarding is not it. The hotel also recommends a kayak trip where they take you out to swim with turtles and fish. Funny enough, we were snorkeling in the exact same spot on our own and saw just as much. If you are a decent swimmer with basic snorkel gear, skip the kayaks and save your money. You will likely see more and spend less. Beach chairs are technically included with the resort amenities fee, but once again, only if you are up at the crack of dawn. People line up early, grab chairs, and then disappear for the day. If you are not an early riser, adjust expectations accordingly or prepare to wage psychological warfare over a chair. The on site restaurants were very good and very expensive, which will surprise absolutely no one. We often walked next door to the Shops at Wailea and used the Island Market, which was convenient, had great options, and did not require taking out a loan for lunch. The rooms themselves were very nice. We had a king bed, a pullout couch for the kids, and a garden view. If you have two bigger kids, the pullout couch is tight and may test family bonds. There is a beachside path that sounds great for running until you realize it is packed with walkers and casual joggers. Serious runners may want to find another route unless zigzagging is part of your training plan. Bottom line, beautiful property, amazing snorkeling, excellent staff, and a lively atmosphere. Expect noise, kids, towel hoarding, and chair drama. Manage expectations, lean into the chaos, and you will probably have a fantastic stay.
On arrival we noticed the property and grounds were spectacular When we got to our room we had an issue We tried to stay where we were and just let them know about the problem but the management was not having that Miriam insisted on moving us to make sure that our trip was wonderful and our memories were perfect and boy did she She put us in a great oceanfront room with a balcony that was just spectacular They do not want anyone leaving that resort without a positive feeling The restaurant was wonderful The food and service were excellent and memorable We were told by Miriam that the place was newly renovated so anyone that was there before should definitely try it again we will definitely go back to the Wailea Beach resort!!!
Wailea Beach Resort exceeded every expectation! From the warm welcome at check-in to the stunning ocean-view room, every detail reflected the true aloha spirit. The thoughtful touches—beautiful room décor, daily chocolates, and exceptional service—made our stay unforgettable. The spa was a highlight: our couples massage set the tone for our anniversary day. Both therapists were incredible—though we requested Lomi Lomi, they intuitively blended multiple techniques for one of the best massages we’ve ever had. The staff radiated warmth and professionalism, and the food was so good we rarely left the property. This resort is the perfect destination for a special occasion or a relaxing escape. We left with cherished memories and can’t wait to return. Five stars all the way!
I will write the review that I wish I would have read before booking….I think the word luxury is a bit of a reach. Yes, in the 1980’s this place was probably top tier. It’s not just dated but it is oversold- you are fighting for chairs at the pool and beach. At sunrise people start claiming chairs…literally taking shifts to keep them. The beaches are microscopic…. It’s shoulder to shoulder. The pools are the same…. Ridiculously small for the number of rooms. If you are expecting real luxury then go the Four Seasons in Lanai. Maui is dated and only useful for timeshares and insurance conventions. It’s a place where mid level sales guys chat about their sales pipeline their ambition to reach a higher status on different loyalty programs. You want luxury…. Spend the 2k plus a night that gets you real luxury or stop complaining when you are asses to elbows in the pool, the beach, walking the beach path, the restaurant…..
The hotel location is good, the overall environment is also nice. However the experience was not very pleasant due to the smelly room and corridors when checked in. Even unpleasant experience that the room keys were expired on the second day when we were back from day trip. That’s really annoying! But I have to say the view was nearly perfectly.
CONS first! 1) This place is so greedy. First- the $45 daily parking rate is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS. Shame on you! The parking structure is awful. Someone designed this thing with parking spaces that are WAY TOO SMALL. Most of us have rental cars and have to be careful against door dents, being hit, and more. I had to park on the roof to fit a small Toyota in, and then a very far walk to our room every time. We saw several stupid people backing into (why are you backing into a spot?) parking spaces getting within 1/8 inch of cars! Why do I have to pay ANY money to park here if I am a guest? This hotel has been here since like 1972 so this parking structure fee is a joke and really offensive. 2) The $80 resort fee is also ridiculous. Wow- you get "internet!"- like it's 1995! You get 2-hour bike rental for 2 guests daily if "elite" - but there is no where to ride, and the street is dangerous with traffic once you leave the very long driveway in and out. We were not interested in the other "amenities" like "cultural activites" (the shuttle- why do we need this when we are paying the $45 parking fee). So, with taxes, I was paying like $160 daily for "resort" fees. We only used the pool towels. 3) The biggest negative at the hotel along with the $45 parking rate, is the lack of dining options!!!! The "breakfast" restaurant by the lobby is a MASSIVE rip-off. Ya, there is a Starbucks with an extremely long line daily for "breakfast"- which is more like a snack. The restaurant by the lobby was mostly empty our entire 9 days there due to outrageous pricing. Where are family with kids supposed to eat? 4) The tiny jacuzzi was closed the entire time we were there at night because the light was broken inside. This resort lacks jacuzzis. 5) All the pool cues in the game room were broken. There were several "outsiders" in the game room that were NOT guests. Many of the arcade games were not working. Seriously, you charge like $160 daily resort fee and have broken pool cues! The 6) 4 a.m. NOISE! Got woken up 3 times by hotel employees making noise. One guy was power washing the pool area at 4 a.m. Another morning employee in a golf cart doing landscaping and loud beeping. PROS: Great pools, awesome water slide, and two fabulous beaches! The water slide is awesome. Also- we had a nice view, and really like the balcony with seating and a rack to hang up our towels and bathing suits to dry.
The views from the rooms and from adult pool are spectacular. The pool temperature was like bath water. Loved it.
Booked a Garden View, however as a Titanium Elite we were upgraded to "Ocean View" which turned out to be a view of the Lobby, Main Building Roof, Solar Panels and A/C equipment - we ended up asking for the Garden Room back and gave us late checkout (Thanks!). Breakfast voucher a Starbucks was meh - higher end Marriott Properties such as the Mauna Kea do better with a full breakfast. The Adult only Maluhia Pool was a disappointment - typical resort - all chairs taken by 9:00 am, no enforcement. Some jerk had a bluetooth loud speaker blaring over the already piped in xmas music and was drinking beers out of his own cooler. The Pool Attendant didn't really care, he spent at least 2 hours hawking Maui Jims instead of managing the pool. We did manage to get chairs and stayed all day however was not relaxing - reminded of me of a Party Pool at Mexican all-inclusive. On a positive note, we checked out the Olakino Wellness Pool. Savannah invited us in and did a great sales job. We end up spending a 1/2 day there - fantastic!! Highlight of our trip - absolutely outstanding experience. Savannah, Stephan and the other attendant(sorry forgot her name) provided fantastic service. Best part of the Hotel, well done Savannah and Team!
We were fortunate enough to get to spend another 10 nights at the WBR this October. It is our 3rd time back to Maui and the WBR, and we will always choose this resort as our 1st choice. I have written a previous review of one of our previous stays that includes more tips and ideas that we found helpful, so I won't repeat those here. However, one thing that stays consistent and needs to be expressed always is that the staff, grounds and rooms are always spot on. It starts at the top and Angela V. needs to be congratulated. It is evident that she takes great pride in her overseeing this resort, and it shows in the product. She and her staff even surprised us and arranged for us to stay in the same, fantastic room we stayed during the previous two visits. A couple of shout outs to staff... Adult Pool: we hung out at the adult pool a lot and were always taken care by Ryland, Mario & Shay. Their attention to you is just the right amount -where you never run out of water, drinks or items off the menu; but they never hover around and interrupt your tranquility. We also ate lunch at the Sunset's Bar almost everyday where we enjoyed the view and conversation with the bartender on duty. While they are hustling their tales off preparing the drinks for the pool visitors, they were gracious and polite to allow me to bombard them with questions and my Dave Matthews Band excursions. From Mariko's infectious laugh - to Aaron's expertise at cocktails (and music) - to Mark A's conversations, we really enjoyed or brief time at lunch each day. In addition, we would not have gone there to eat everyday, unless the food was great. We are still talking up the cheeseburgers that we ate, when we strayed away from the fresh seafood choices. Maui Jim Manager: we cant say enough how pleasant, polite and attentive Jahdiel was to us. We really enjoyed seeing and speaking with him the days he was at our pool. Starbuck's: We are fortunate enough to take advantage of the Starbucks on site and there were a couple of staff member that always made my decaf poor over order pleasant...Taylor & Courtney "thank you!" Drivers: all of the staff that help provide the transportation are polite and attentive. We were lucky enough to get to have Romel multiple times and he was always so pleasant and happy. Nalu Adventure Pool: This is a popular pool for the families, but you adults need to venture over and experience the two slides. The half-shell slide is really cool, and the other slide is a rocket-ship. Do not stay here without experiencing these slides. Needless to say, we really love visiting Maui and the WBR is the main reason. Thank you Angela for running such as great resort and providing us such wonderful accommodations and experiences. We cannot wait to return!
