Peaceful and relaxing
Plenty of room
Breakfast was pretty good (regular buffet with scramble, fruits, oatmeal,...) but things like lattes/cappuccinos were charged as extras - given $50 breakfast price tag it's fair to expect this to be included (it's not something like alcoholic drinks). Pools and beach were great - awesome cascading pools, super responsive and helpful staff, free ice cream:) Awesome activities like boat trips to do snorkeling and turtles watching - really enjoyed it. Great location for sure.
AC unit was constantly blowing us in the bed - even after 2 requests to adjust it I was feeling air flow on my face every time in the bed and was afraid to get sick b/c of it. We've a got a pretty big B52 cockroach (~2.5 inches long) in our room on one night and we were waiting 15 mins (during this time this thing was flying around me so I used my phone to fight it back) until staff came to get it. They changed bed cloth and were helpful but afterwards nobody from hotel management checked up on us or offered any help/room change/.... Looks like it's expected issue there but in this case guests should be warned about such possibility and/or some bug nets/screens installed on balcony doors.
Don't use their online check-in system or you won't receive any text communication. This is the reason the front desk explained why I didn't receive any communication. You are lucky if you get welcome drink and fresh towel during check-in but we didn't. Front desk service is horrible. Instead, I want to give credit to the staff help parking and luggage service. They are super helpful and professional. Running to get every car under the sun!
My husband and I absolutely loved the Andaz! We went for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. From the start the front desk and valet staff were so kind - when we got to our room there was a bottle of wine and a message congratulating us on our honeymoon. So sweet! The entire resort was beautiful and gives a romantic serene feel. We saw many families and kids but it didn’t feel like there was an overwhelming amount. We were happy they had an adult only pool which was great if you wanted to be in a more relaxing and quiet setting. We loved the poolside food and drink service, and the pool attendants always had towels ready for us. Another great thing about the resort is the location. We loved there was a shopping mall in walking distance! They had upscale stores, coffee, gift shops, restaurants, etc. We also ate at both restaurants on site and they were fantastic!! Huge shout out to the staff - valet, ladies at the market, front desk, poolside staff, waiters and servers.. everyone was so so kind and helpful. Everyone seemed so happy to work there. We highly recommend to any honeymooners looking for a place in Maui!! We hope we can come back again!
Service at pool was not great. Our server acted like he was put out when we told him our food had a hair. Crazy for this caliber resort.
Celebrated my son's 13th birthday at the Andaz. Zero complaints about the resort. Great location in the Wailea area. The atmoaphere of the whole resort was fa ily friendly and also gving that sexy and hip vibe. If kpyou're looking for a luxury resort that's great for families, couples, or anyone wanting an unforgettable Maui vacation, I highly recommend Andaz Maui. We made incredible memories here and can't wait to come back!
We had an incredible stay at the Andaz Maui while celebrating both our anniversary and our babymoon, and we would absolutely return. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood out. A special thank you to **Hua** in valet, **Kamea** at the front desk, and **Nic** and **Aaron** at breakfast. Each of them made us feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and well taken care of throughout our stay. Their warmth and attentiveness truly elevated our experience. Breakfast at **Kaʻana Kitchen** was easily the highlight of our trip. We looked forward to it every morning. The food and service were 10/10—the variety was excellent, everything was fresh and flavorful, and the restaurant was very clean. We also celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Kaʻana Kitchen. While the dinner menu was smaller than we expected, our server gave fantastic recommendations, and every appetizer and entrée he suggested was excellent. My husband initially ordered the lemongrass chicken (which wasn't one of the recommended dishes) and found it to be too salty. The staff replaced it immediately without hesitation, and the new entrée was delicious. We really appreciated how quickly and professionally they handled it. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained. The pools, beach access, and overall atmosphere made it the perfect place to slow down and celebrate such a special season of life. As an expecting mom, I noticed several other couples enjoying babymoons as well, and it's easy to see why. The resort is relaxing, walkable, and has everything you need for a restful getaway. The location in Wailea is another huge plus. It's close to great restaurants and shopping, so it was easy to venture out for a meal while still returning to a quiet, luxurious retreat. Overall, this was a memorable stay with exceptional hospitality. Thank you again to Hua, Kamea, Nic, and Aaron for making our anniversary and babymoon so special. We can't wait to return!
Amazing location, beautiful resort, lots of amenities and food options. Gluten friendly as well. Everyone working there was amazing, this is what truly made my trip. Had a wonderful experience. Beautiful sunsets
I'm currently staying at the Andaz and like to write reviews mid-vacation when the experience is still fresh. We booked through Costco Travel for a week. Pros: - Beautiful resort with plentiful and spacious public areas. The lobby is spectacular, with several semi-private lounging areas overlooking the balcony. It's peak season, but we've had no trouble finding seating at the pool and in general the resort feels active but not crowded. - The welcome is lovely and most of the staff are both friendly and helpful, especially with recommendations, pool chair setup, beach equipment, and the free shuttle. - The resort fee covers a ton of activities, some you have to sign up for in advance but many you don't. The hotel has a weekly schedule of activities (Sunday to Saturday) at the concierge desk that lists out the times for the cultural classes, fitness, live music, etc. - The breakfast is great - lots of variety and the setup (no guest cooking, i.e, a chef makes the waffles and pancakes instead of waiting in line at a sticky station to make your own) made it easy to get in quickly. We were in groups of 4+ and didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a table. - The spa is definitely worth it and priced similarly to full-service spas where I'm from, so it felt like a pretty good deal among all of the other resort markups. - Besides what's on property, the shuttle will take you within a 1-mile radius and there's plenty within a mile. It was also easy to get Ubers for the few things we planned further out. Cons: - We booked the basic room because the website didn't explain the difference between that room and the next level up, and it felt small for the per night price. The way the space is used in the bathroom (toilet and closet each in a separate room, plus a large shower) isn't bad, but it would be helpful if the website were clearer about room size --as a family we would've upgraded if it were clear we would get more space, not just a different view or bigger lanai. - Bugs that rhyme with coach. :-( I did a lot of research before booking about places with the best mitigation because I had a really bad experience on a prior vacation, so this was really disappointing and impacted my enjoyment, especially since I'm already strict about not eating in hotel rooms for fear of attracting bugs. (We had no open food in the room.) The front desk was responsive and scheduled housekeeping promptly, so I'm hopeful this was a fluke. The last 2 are *cons-ish because I think they're more about our personal preferences for travel rather than a reason to not stay here: - As first-time visitors, more clarity at check-in or in the welcome booklet you get with the room keys would've been helpful. As mentioned above, the staff were by and large helpful, but we had to ask about several things we would've preferred more proactive communication on (e.g., the fridge is in a hidden panel near the tv, the shade is controlled by a switch near the bed, there's a family lounge with a microwave, breakfast is walk-in so you don't need to use the QR code around the hotel, etc. - All of the upcharges and add-ons (like having to pay for certain mains on top of the $50/pp buffet fee) feel nickel-and-dimey after awhile, and it left a slightly sour taste in my mouth given that they weren't accompanied by the "above and beyond" I'm used to at luxury hotels. For example, one of our spa services had to be changed because a tech was sick and the options to reschedule didn't work with what we already had booked. In similar situations I've had, something has been offered for the inconvenience (e.g., a free-add-on, credit to the shop). I also named the special event we're here to celebrate when we booked the trip and wish that had been acknowledged in some way. Overall, I recommend Andaz and we are having a very good time. However, I was hoping for spectacular, so if I were to return to Maui I'd probably give my second-choice a shot.
We chose the Andaz Maui for our engagement trip and birthday celebration because of its reputation as a five-star luxury hotel. While we had an enjoyable vacation overall, the hotel itself fell well short of what we expected from a property in this category. Pros: * The location is excellent, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, well-maintained, and spotless. * The complimentary breakfast buffet was outstanding and one of the highlights of our stay. * Valet service was consistently prompt, professional, and courteous. * After checkout, the hotel provided access to a lounge with showers and securely stored our luggage, which was very convenient before our evening flight. Cons: * We had to wait until exactly 4:00 PM to check in. Although we appreciated being upgraded to a top-floor ocean view room, the room itself was surprisingly small and underwhelming for a luxury resort. Waiting until 4pm was also extremely painful in the heat. * Our room had an ongoing ant problem throughout our stay. The hotel did send someone to spray insecticide, but no one wants chemicals being sprayed in their room while on vacation. Unfortunately, the ants returned shortly afterward. * While breakfast was included, Hyatt still charged extra for a separate coffee and à la carte menu. Charging $8 for a simple Americano at a five-star resort that already includes breakfast felt unnecessarily cheap. * Housekeeping did not clean the floors in our room during our stay, which was disappointing given the level of service we expected. * We informed the hotel months in advance that we were visiting to celebrate both our engagement and a birthday. While we didn’t expect anything extravagant, even a simple handwritten card or small gesture would have made the stay feel more personal. It seemed as though the special occasions weren’t acknowledged very well. * while they advertise beach towel and chair service, we tried and had to do it on our own. They did not set anything up for us and it felt very cheap. Overall, the Andaz Maui is a beautiful property in an incredible location, but the service and attention to detail simply did not match its five-star reputation. Between the pest issue, inconsistent housekeeping, nickel-and-diming over basic coffee, and the lack of recognition for special occasions that were communicated well in advance, we left feeling that this hotel falls short of the luxury experience it advertises. I would happily stay in Wailea again, but I would likely choose a different resort next time.
We purchased a last minute trip package to Maui through Costco Travel. We hadn't previously stayed in any of the Wailea Resorts, though we have frequented the beaches and boardwalks there. The Andaz resort is 10/10...from the smaller big resort feeling, to the ALOHA spirit, to the outstanding food and drinks, to the well-stocked and user friendly activity desk and beyond...it is totally a positive experience. Mahalo Andaz family!
nice resort hotel. Like the beach most. Lots of activities. and all of them are including in the resort fee. Will come back again,
over all fine, but be careful if you on the odd number rooms (away from the ocean), seems to be little too dark and damp. The buffet is not as good as many folks hyping it up. It is good but needs more items and better quality. omelets should not be extra cost. Infinity pools are nice, however water and concrete floor can get really hot in full sun with limited tree cover.
This was the absolute worst experience at a hotel I have recently had. From lack of hot water in our hotel room, to taking 45 min to get a cocktail at the pool, you get very little opportunity for shade unless you rent a cabana, the food at all establishments were terrible - we left the property even for breakfast.
The resort and views are SO BEAUTIFUL! Writing to warn guests to beware that "resort view room" is actually a parking lot view room. It is right across from the staff parking lot. When the staff arrives at work (4:00-5:00 am), their loud car music and car alarms will wake you up. If you sit on your patio, you will (only) have a view of the cars. Our first night, we did not realize this because we arrived late, and the cars' headlights lit up our room all night.
My wife and I had a great time at the Andaz for our anniversary. Right from the personal attention given to us and the help we received for our early check in to support for the late check out, staff was quite courteous and helpful. The property is beautiful and all the pools were amazing. The activities offered at the resort such as paddleboarding and snorkeling were extremely fun and helped us enjoy Hawaii a lot. The housekeeping was excellent and it was impressive how well they kept the room and took care of our personal items in the room. We also had the opportunity of enjoying the spa facilities and a massage which I recommend. The breakfast spread was great and the wait was never more than 5 minutes long. I absolutely will stay here again.
We had an excellent experience here! Clean rooms, great property, and friendly staff. And it's a short walk to lots of great restaurants in the area.
Oh my goodness! This hotel is fabulous: so relaxing and it feels luxurious at every turn. We loved beach and pool time at this resort.
Beautiful Pools, But the Overall Experience Fell Short We recently stayed at the Andaz Maui after hearing so many great things, but unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations for a luxury resort at this price point. The pool area is the highlight of the property and is beautifully designed. However, even that experience was frustrating at times. On multiple occasions, the resort lowered all of the pool umbrellas when the normal Maui trade winds picked up. While safety is important, these were typical trade wind conditions. Without any shade, it became uncomfortable to stay at the pool, and we ended up returning to our room. After moving to the Fairmont Kea Lani, we experienced similar weather, but their umbrellas remained open. It seems the Andaz could benefit from equipment designed for Maui's normal conditions. Our biggest disappointment was the service. Throughout our stay, we joked that it was "service without a smile." While there were a few exceptional employees, most staff interactions lacked the warmth and hospitality you'd expect at a luxury resort. The pool attendants, in particular, were not especially friendly or attentive. The dining experience was also underwhelming. We tried several restaurants during our stay and consistently found the food to be average while the prices were high. In comparison, the Four Seasons and Fairmont next door offered noticeably better food, warmer service, and, surprisingly, slightly lower prices. The Andaz has an excellent location and beautiful pools, but luxury resorts are remembered for how they make guests feel. Unfortunately, we never experienced the level of hospitality that distinguishes truly exceptional properties. If service, dining, and overall guest experience are important to you, I would recommend considering the neighboring Four Seasons or Fairmont Kea Lani before making your decision.
We recently stayed at the Andaz Maui for our honeymoon, and while it’s undeniably a beautiful resort, I don’t think it lives up to its five-star reputation. You’re largely paying for the ocean views, the location, and the Andaz name. The rooms themselves don’t feel particularly luxurious. Housekeeping was inconsistent—we had to call around 4:00 p.m. on our first day just to have our room cleaned. Even after that, housekeeping mostly made the bed and replaced towels without much attention to detail. The blinds were noticeably dusty, the towels were rough and scratchy, and there was no evening turndown service. Housekeeping also wasn’t very consistent with the small details. Some days they would leave extra cotton swabs, while other days they wouldn’t replace basic items like makeup wipes. One day the robe I had been using wasn’t hung back up, and little touches you’d expect from a five-star hotel were often missed. None of these things ruined our stay, but together they made the service feel average rather than exceptional. We also mentioned that we were celebrating our honeymoon. While we certainly didn’t expect anything extravagant, we did ask if a room upgrade might be available. Unfortunately, there was no upgrade, and the only acknowledgment was a complimentary bottle of inexpensive white wine ($12!!). If you’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or another special occasion, I wouldn’t expect any meaningful recognition. The resort itself has stunning grounds, gorgeous ocean views, and a great beachfront location. We enjoyed our time there, but the service simply wasn’t what you expect from a five-star hotel. Overall, it was a nice resort, but we left feeling like we had paid more for the name and location than for a true luxury experience.
We had a fantastic stay at the Andaz! The employee who checked us in at 12:15 in the morning, Asia, was amazing. She saw that it was our anniversary and left a handwritten card with a fruit platter in our room the next day. It was very touching. The whole staff was wonderful. This is now our favorite hotel in Maui!
An AMAZING Stay at this gem on Maui. This property gives you the TRUE Aloha that you want and you don't realize exists until you are here. From the architecture, to the design an decor, and Hawaiian woods and plants, but mostly the Staff have the true Aloha Spirit. You feel welcomed from point one when you pull up in your car and the bell desk welcomes you with a fresh flower or nut lei and a friendly aloha! You'll proceed to the front desk who are genuinely happy to see you and want your stay to be amazing. The rooms are very nicely designed, open, an super comfortable, with separate showers and tubs. The multi-level pool, that terraces down from the lobby to the open grassy area means separate areas with separate vibes and great ocean views. They also have a large, adult pool for those seeking some quiet relaxation. The large grassy area that parellels the intimate beach, is great for events or for kids and families just "playing". They also have a luau, that looked great. Althought the spa is not huge, it has everything you need;sauna, steam; hot jet pool and enough therapy rooms and great experienced therapists. My family had appointments all at the sametime and we all thoroughly enjoyed our massages. The Kahana Restaurant has an amazing breakfast, and our dinner was creative with lots of farm-fresh local foods, and very flavourful, with good portions. We loved our stay! Best Resort on the Island of Maui.
Great location at north end of Wailea resort area. Resort has a modern island vibe. Amazing view from lobby and upper hotel pool levels.
The Positives: Location, Perks, and Beach Access Our family recently stayed for five nights, booking through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts. We were very pleased that the hotel honored all of our Amex benefits, including a much-appreciated room upgrade. The beachfront location of this resort is absolutely excellent. A huge shoutout to the Andaz Beach Crew, who were fantastic and delivered exactly what was promised. The ability to rent snorkel equipment and see wildlife right off the beach was amazing and a highlight for our family. Additionally, the Andaz shuttle service was efficient and highly appreciated throughout our stay. Dining Highlights and Lowlights For on-property lunches, the poke bowl at Bumbye was phenomenal. We also had the daily Ka'ana breakfast included with our booking. While the breakfast was good initially, we found that the offerings became repetitive and uninspiring after the second day. Unfortunately, our highly anticipated dinner at Morimoto was a terrible value. The entire experience felt tired and jaded, starting with the torn cushions in the waiting area. The service lacked polish—my non-alcoholic beer was served lukewarm, and my food arrived on a dirty plate that had to be replaced. Most importantly, the food itself lacked refinement and energy; the signature Ishi Yaki Buri Bop was flat and devoid of depth, and the sushi rolls and mushrooms felt uninspired. The Unacceptable: Housekeeping and Management Where this hotel truly failed us was in room servicing and management follow-through. Housekeeping repeatedly missed the mark: dirty glasses and mugs were left unreplaced, room amenities were not replenished, and on one occasion, we discovered a significant amount of black dirt under a chair . Furthermore, the bathroom amenities themselves were terrible—the bottles were difficult to use, the products smelled bad, and they were far below the standard we have come to expect from the Andaz brand. The service recovery for these issues was exceptionally poor. Assistant Front Office Manager Ashelen responded to our initial feedback by offering a complimentary cabana, but ultimately booked us a different one than promised, failing to meet the committed expectations. When we complained a second time regarding the dirt in our room, Ashelen did not even respond. Instead, Lynette from the Guest Service Center replied, promising that housekeeping and a manager would reach out shortly. Neither of those things happened, and we never received an apology. To make matters worse, there was zero acknowledgment of our concerns at checkout, despite the issues being clearly noted in our reservation profile. The Verdict While the beach access, outfitter crew, and booking perks were wonderful, the persistent housekeeping failures and the complete lack of management follow-through severely impacted our stay. A resort of this caliber should not drop the ball so heavily on basic cleanliness and guest service recovery.
Stayed in the Akai Wing - Single King Bed. Rooms are on the smaller size, but you obviously are not there to stay in the room. Booked via AMEX so had the breakfast included which was fantastic. They have all the amenities - snorkeling and swim sports gear, beach chairs and umbrellas. The cabanas and fancy chairs which were for rental were often unused - would be nice if the Resort cut the price to a point where they were all utilized. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. Make sure to take part in some of the resort activities. The outrigger boat ride was a lot of fun.
We had a wonderful stay at the Andaz Maui! The resort is beautiful and the staff was great from start to finish. It has a little bit of everything, and my mom and I especially loved the adults only tranquility pool for some quiet relaxation. The food at the beach bar was delicious too. A five star experience all around, would go back in a heartbeat.
Beautiful property and even though a large hotel, it rarely seemed busy. The breakfast buffet is the best I've had anywhere at any price. There's plenty to do there and the beach, pool area and grounds are great. We took the free outdoor yoga classes daily - what a lovely experience.
Property is very beautiful and feels upscale however the service is very lacking. Upon arrival, valet unloaded our luggage. We checked in and were told our luggage would be delivered to our room shortly. After 2 hours I went to check with valet/bell about our luggage. They said they would deliver it right away. An hour later, I went outside again and our luggage still sat on their cart beside the curb. We decided this is ridiculous and we would just get it ourselves. Was told we were not allowed to use the cart and had to carry or luggage. Meanwhile several workers just stood around laughing and talking instead of doing their jobs! Waited for 3 hours just to get or luggage ourselves!
Hoping this review saves someone from booking what was probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The fact that this place is over $1,000 a night is laughable. Especially in Wailea, which is supposed to be one of the most luxurious spots on the island. We were told that early 12 pm check in was set, and when we got there they acted like they'd never said that, although there was a note on our booking. I had even called in advance several times to ensure that the room would be ready, as we were celebrating a birthday and wanted to ensure everything would go smoothly. Upon arrival they said that they'd "never guaranteed that" and that early check in was contingent on if the room was ready. They essentially told us to wait in some random room in the basement area that was shared with a bunch of parties who were also told of early check in. They said they'd text us when our room was ready, and we never received a text. When we came to the front at 4 pm (yes we had to wait 4 hours), they told us the room was finally ready and that the text must not have gone through because we'd already checked in at the front, which makes a absolutely no sense. They left our stuff outside unattended after letting us know that they'd unload our car and hold it until they could take it up to the room. This included a laptop, birthday gifts, and chocolates that were melted in the heat. The workers at the front desk were extremely rude and snotty to us as well. When we finally got our room, they took 36 minutes to come with our bag, making us miss our reservation for early dinner. While they were dropping off our luggage, the attendant gave us a box of groceries , I immediately told him that we did not order any groceries, but he said that this was for our room and I asked if this was maybe some sort of apology present and he just proceeded to give us the large box of stuff and we're like OK and then two hours later they're knocking on our door and calling asking for the box back saying it was meant for another guest, which we then of course gave back. The room they gave us was small, old, and right outside the pool, with no privacy whatsoever. The door man even told us it was one of the worst rooms on the property. We ended up calling the manager and canceling our reservation and leaving first thing the next morning. The hotel staff asked numerous times which hotel we were going to which was very strange as well. I've been to Maui a dozen times now, and the Andaz was BY FAR the worst hotel experience.
Top notch friendly professionalism of customer service. Would definitely be staying there in the future. Glad to have chosen my first stay in Wailea side of Maui.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning grounds and a great location. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by poor customer service and an unacceptable check-in process. We arrived before noon and spent the afternoon by the pool waiting for our room. Around 4:00 PM, I received a text message stating that our room was ready, so I went to the front desk. A staff member named Chai told me that, as a Guest of Honor, she could upgrade us to a partial ocean view room. However, instead of the two queen beds we had reserved, the upgraded room had one king bed and a rollaway bed, and we would still have to wait until 6:00 PM to check in. I agreed to the upgrade on one condition—that we would first see whether the rollaway bed was comfortable enough for our third adult guest. We finally received our room keys at 6:00 PM, only to discover that the rollaway bed had not even been delivered. After calling housekeeping, we waited another one to two hours before a worn, unstable rollaway bed with dusty bedding finally arrived. The room itself was extremely small, and once the rollaway bed was added, there was barely any space left for our luggage or even to walk around comfortably. I immediately returned to the front desk and requested to switch back to the standard room with the two queen beds that we had originally booked, even if it meant giving up the partial ocean view. Chai refused, saying that because I had accepted the upgrade, she could not switch us back. She then called the front desk manager, Ashley. Instead of helping resolve the situation, Ashley was rude and confrontational. She repeatedly blamed me for accepting the upgrade, even though I had clearly agreed only on the condition that the rollaway bed would be suitable. After nearly 30 minutes of discussion, she finally agreed to move us to the correct room—but only the following day. She insisted that we check out by 11:00 AM and wait until after 4:00 PM to check into the new room. This was completely unreasonable. We already had early morning activities scheduled for the next day, and expecting us to spend five hours without a room would have forced us to lose a significant portion of our second day at the hotel because of a mistake that was not ours. What disappointed me the most was the attitude of both Chai and Ashley. They spoke loudly, showed little respect, and seemed more interested in shifting responsibility than finding a reasonable solution. As a Guest of Honor, I expected better treatment—not special treatment, but basic courtesy, professionalism, and a genuine effort to resolve the issue. The hotel itself is beautiful, but our first day was completely ruined by poor communication, an inadequate room arrangement, and disappointing customer service. I hope management will address these issues so future guests do not have a similar experience.
The resort's expansive grounds are beautifully maintained and immaculately landscaped. The rooms are bright, clean, and well maintained, with outstanding air conditioning that ensures a comfortable stay. The staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to assist. This remains my favorite resort on Maui, and I look forward to my next visit.
We stayed in the Deluxe Ocean View Suite on floor 6 of 7 and we highly recommend anyone going to stay in this room. While it is expensive, it is well worth the dual balconies and panoramic views, especially for the sunset!! When we go back we will be sure to get this room once again. The service at the Hyatt Andaz Maui Resort from beginning to end was exemplary and all interactions were very attentive and friendly. It is a quick walk to the shops so location wise it is excellent. Activities were plentiful and the spa was well worth the money. We also recently stayed in a suite at the Alila in Napa Valley and because of the sweeping views and infinite pools, Andaz edges it out as a Best-Stay, but we'd easily go back to either with Andaz Maui being a first choice. A must stay!
Exceeded our expectations as all the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Seemed more like a true 5 star resort as it was one of our best overall experiences at a resort on every measure.
Everyone that I made eye contact with in every department was quick to smile and assist. The entire team is on-point and friendly. I LOVED the ocean front balcony room that I was assigned. Housekeeping was quick, efficient and did an outstanding job. The Globalist breakfast team is superb. The food & beverage quality, upkeep/ constant attention required due to high-volume fast paced guests sweeping through and quality was VERY impressive. I can't wait to come back next year and do it again. GREAT job to the GM and his entire team here, THANK YOU!
Resort was underwhelming. The valet and bell staff were super nice. Outside of that, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Wifi did not work and technician was in my room for an hour trying to fix it. It wasn't his fault, it's just not a good experience especially after they pushed us to upgrade to a "better" suite. I spoke to the front office manager after about the situation and she was not caring at all and was super rude on the phone. It's a nice hotel but save yourself the time and just go to the four seasons.
Room not ready on arrival. Overcharges on bill. Non responsive front desk. Repeated key issues. Felt like the staff was overwhelmed. Morimoto also had broken air conditioning. Nice pools, but felt more like a 3 star resort. Nest time choose Four Seasons or Marriot
Staff was excellent
Wish activities were a little more publicized.
The Andaz Maui surpassed our expectations and was an incredible experience. The rooms were clean and smelled amazing - as were the bath and beauty products. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and the staff helped make it so. The pools as well as beach area were gorgeous and well attended to. Food and food service staff were allw onderful as well. Amazing luau as well.
My family and I have been coming to Hawaiʻi for years. In fact, my wife once lived and worked on Maui at another resort just down the road. We know this island well, and we've been fortunate enough to stay at some incredible properties over the years. But after our first stay at Andaz Maui in 2025, something felt different. This year brought some challenging life circumstances for our family, and when it came time to return to Maui, we weren't looking for adventure, excursions, or a packed itinerary. We were looking for a place where we could simply exhale. A place where we felt comfortable enough to slow down, stay put, and just be together. That's why we chose to spend the first 9 nights of our 14-day trip at Andaz. What we found was far more than a luxury resort. We found aloha. The property is beautiful, the food is fantastic, and the setting is everything you'd expect from Maui. But what made this trip one of the greatest experiences we've ever had in Hawaiʻi—or anywhere—was the people. Every single interaction mattered. From the moment we arrived, the staff invested in us. They learned our names. They learned our daughter's name. They played with her, laughed with her, and made her feel special every single day. More importantly, they genuinely wanted to know us as people. Not because they had to, but because that's who they are. And it wasn't just one exceptional employee. It was everyone. Nelson, Dennis, Angel, Barak, Hollie, Earl, Mason, Teiva, Romeo, (sorry I can’t list everyone) and the entire valet crew became part of our daily routine. By the end of our stay, we weren't greeting staff members—we were greeting friends. The feeling of ʻohana was real, and it's something our family will never forget. The greatest compliment I can give Andaz is this: after countless trips to Hawaiʻi, this wasn't just another vacation. It became one of our favorite travel experiences of all time. Our only mistake was spending 14 days on Maui and only 9 of them at Andaz. To the leadership team: thank you for creating an environment where your people can be themselves, share genuine aloha, and create such meaningful experiences for your guests. That culture is rare, and it shines through in every corner of the resort. Don't change a thing. We'll be back soon—and we can't wait to see our friends again.
A very nice resort with great staff. My only complaint would be that areas of the resort are a bit worn around the edges. Our first impression was the welcoming lounge for changing while waiting for the room. It is quite worn, carpet seemed unclean and it is dark. Also noticed discoloring and chipped tiles in the adult pool. However, our room was in great condition and we liked the layout very much. Be aware that Maui is windy and every day between 2:00 and 5:00 the umbrellas have to come down. This is not a fault of the resort but if you need shade like me the adult pool is probably your best bet. Also, the higher you go the longer it takes the wind to get to you. Enjoyed the live music in the evenings at the lounge/bar and the food portions are very generous. Never had to wait around for bar staff to bring food/drinks to the pool chairs...the bar staff did a great job. Overall very enjoyable.
Stayed a week for our 45th anniversary, amazing experience especially the staff. Had a few early issues settling in but Vicki, the front desk manager quickly addressed all our issues and resolved them! Angel at the front desk helped get us a fantastic room. Breakfast was made even better with Kaitlyn and Jenny welcoming us each morning by name and taking the time getting to know us. Hua was amazing in the courtesy van getting us anywhere we wanted to go. Keanu was so friendly and helpful at the beach for umbrellas and chairs. These people really made the experience something special. We will be back and hope to see everyone again. The Becks!
Beautiful location and great beach. Access to walking path. We loved our stay and are planning to return next year! Perfect view of the ocean from our 5th floor room. Loved how quiet it was on our side above the adult pool.
Beautiful hotel with lovely outlook - expensive valet only parking - staff efficient and very friendly - lovely buffet breakfast
Great spot, well maintained property and dedicated staff. Our room was well appointed and had a lovely view. It was not clean upon arrival but the staff were very apologetic and worked quickly to remedy the problems.
This was the most incredible stay! I cannot even express how incredibly gorgeous and breathtaking the property is; everywhere you look it is mesmerizing. The staff was top notch, the amenities were so great, and the breakfast was lovely. We looked at many resorts in Wailea and I can confidently say that after staying at the Andaz there is no competition. We even ate at the Four Seasons and were not wowed because we just loved Andaz so much! LOL The only thing we didn’t love was the Alfredo and Parmesan fries at Andaz but everything else was pretty tasty. The room was also fantastic; everything was fully stocked daily if you requested them to service your room. There is even an Ohana lounge after checkout that has showers, complimentary drinks, etc. which was incredible for us! We checked our luggage and enjoyed the property alllll day because of that additional lounge access amenity. Paddle boarding on the ocean and the outrigger was also so cool, and there were so many different options of water equipment that you could easily check out even without booking a session. I have to say this was 10/10 and we have already discussed making Andaz our yearly getaway. It is unmatched. What a perfect and romantic getaway, ugh! I am sooo sad to even leave!
This is a gorgeous, clean property and our family had a great stay. We stayed for a week with our three sons. The food and drink were better than the other two hotels we visited in Maui. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping was flexible and would often come in the evening if we were in the room in the morning. Would come again.
Less than helpful front desk staff. It seemed that we were bothering them, rather than being guests. Several times, the staff let out deep sighs when simple questions were asked. This is the same experience we had a year ago, but we thought that this year would be different. Seems not—also, the same staff as last year. Customer service training is recommended.
The Andaz Maui is amazing. Friendly staff, beautiful location, delicious breakfast buffet with many selections, lots of activities to do right at the beach... snorkeling, kayak, boogie board, paddleboad and all included. Will definitely return.
I can't stress how well we were treated. The Andaz was 20 out of 10. We booked through Costco. I couldn't have happier. From the second we arrived to hotel, to Aric at concierge & the front desk we were blown away from the attention to detail we received.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Appreciated the beach set up of lounge chairs and umbrellas included with your resort fee. Beautiful ocean views from the hotel.
Did not care for the pool set-up, which consisted of three pools architecturally tiered, thus ALOT of steps up and down from pool to pool, and a long walk to the beach once you reached the bottom of the stairs. Restaurants were very, very expensive for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Property felt claustrophobic since it was self contained and without a good beach walk. Also, you could not self-park since it was valet only at an exorbitant price.

Location
Bugs and poor unfriendly staff. Not helpful staff
Nice location in Wailea, lots of services/experiences to take advantage of. We went on a Costco package that included parking, breakfast, and a $100 daily resort credit...otherwise it would have been a much more expensive trip. They have a shuttle that will take you to a few places locally and there are shops and restaurants in walking distance so if you're just looking to relax and resort, you could get away with not having a car, but to do any of the classic Maui experiences, you'll need one. Pools and beach were great. Food was all great, but overpriced, so we ended up off resort for a lot of meals.
100% amazing and would go back again. The place, the amenities, the food, and staff - were all top notch. Best Luau experience, too.
The hotel is lovely inside and out. Room was clean, decent/partial view of beach and pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. But...little if any attention appears to have been paid to soundproofing. We were endlessly aware of and bothered by the noise of other guests, in the adjoining room, the hallway, and the room above us. For the $$ we paid, we expected better.
The Andaz is truly a remarkable experience. Every single person you talk to there is kind and so sweet. They are responsive to needs and make your experience and visit to Maui truly unforgettable. They have a remarkable concierge team to help explore the island. The ammenities they provide that are included in the resort daily fee is also great! That include the beach access/set up of chairs/towels/umbrellas, using snorkel gear, sunscreen, water always available, nice welcome bags/snacks, and other activities around the resort. Housekeeping was so kind and really did a great job. The rooms are amazing and we really loved the shower that has the glass see through to the bedroom (we were honeymooning). We did have the suite which also included a bath tub. The pools are great! The kids really stayed down at the main pool by the bar and the other pools ended up being adults only which was really nice. Great drinks and food. We had daily buffet breakfast in our stay and that was really top notch! I liked that they did change up some things everyday but overall the food was fantastic (especially the pog juice and island meals). The valet and parking was SO TIMELY. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes for them to get our car every time we left. That was a great experience. I do think Andaz is pretty well situated among the island where it wasn't horrible to explore the whole island and od the activities we wanted to. This area is also really nice with the walking path, the shops near by (make sure to get shaved ice at the Vintage Island Shaved Ice at the Shops of Wailea), MonkeyPod, and lots of food options to explore. Overall we truly enjoyed our honeymoon here and honestly we considered staying at the Grand Wailea but when I saw a review that said you don't get welcome lei's, I opted out. I can confirm you get a lei when you arrive here at the Andaz and we did venture down the path to the Grand Wailea and the vibe down there is not the same. Not as kind and welcoming at that resort and I was extremely happy we decided with Andaz. We will be back!
The Andaz is a wonderful place stay. The views are incredible, the staff is very friendly, and there are so many ways to relax and enjoy Maui right from the resort. We loved that the pool had complimentary sunscreen and poolside service. The activities available in the resort fee more than pay for themselves, and there are plenty of great food options. We took advantage of the 45 minute photo session, and our photos turned out incredible. We would definitely stay here again.
Stunning property in Wailea. We enjoyed our honeymoon at the Andaz and had a wonderful time. The hotel grounds are gorgeous with several infinity pools and an adults only pool. Not many kids at the resort which was perfect as we wanted a hotel that was great for couples as we are a couple without kids in our 30s and this hotel was the right vibe we were looking for. Kai was super nice at check in and hospitable. We arrived early and she gave us access to a lounge to change, and the room was ready shortly after. Our room was a Partial Ocean view however I'd even consider it just ocean view as it had no obstruction of the ocean and had both views of gorgeous plants and the ocean. Instead of the stairs by the pool, what was cool was the walkway that was more like a botanical garden that I feel most people miss. Had an abundance of plant life and labels of each plant too which was so cool. We utilized the nice gym everyday which also offered classes. The hotel provides a lot of activities and while we were here 5 nights, we could honestly stay another week to do more activities on an off the resort. Maui has it all. The beach area was pristine with nice chairs and umbrella included in your rate. The town of Wailea is truly luxurious and were blown away. Loved the coffee shop/convenience store too. While we didn't partake in the Luau we ate at Morimoto with a view of the Luau which was a great combo. The hotel offers so much and would love to return again. Thank you for a remarkable stay as it rejuvenated us gave us a peaceful break from our daily hustle and bustle.
Beautiful resort, staff all very kind, loved that there were many different pool options/vibes in addition to the gorgeous beach. Not like other resorts where you sometimes feel like you have to hang out with a crowd of strangers to enjoy time in the pool.
Do not go to this hotel. Pick any other hotel. There are many choices in Wailea that are much more clean and offer much better amenities. The room had roaches -- many of them -- even some coming out of the toilet and others walking up the shower walls (not joking about either of those). It was a nightmare. The staff was very rude and did not do anything to reflect that they cared about our stay. The towels had stains on them. If you leave the lights on in your room when you go out to dinner, you will come back to dozens of flies in your room. The elevators smell like body odor. The Andaz is like a nightmare side-of-the-road motel for the price of a luxury resort. A total disaster.
I had high expectations for the Andaz Maui given the pricing and reputation, but the overall experience fell short in several key areas. The $60 per night parking fee is excessive, and more importantly, it was not disclosed at check-in. For a property at this level, that lack of transparency is unacceptable and immediately undermines trust. There was also a significant gnat problem during our stay. While I understand that this can be environmental, the hotel made no effort to acknowledge or communicate this at check-in. That lack of proactive communication reflects poorly on guest service standards. The poolside food was underwhelming and overpriced. For a resort positioning itself as premium, the quality simply didn’t match the pricing or expectations. Also be aware for the prices at the 5th floor coffee bar. I paid 17 dollars for a cappuccino with extra shot. Overall, the room rates are extremely high, but the experience does not justify the cost. At this price point, attention to detail, transparency, and quality should be flawless... unfortunately, that was not the case here. There are better value options in Wailea.
We chose Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort for our wedding trip, expecting a memorable and special experience. Unfortunately, it fell far short. Check-in immediately set the tone. I had booked an Ocean View King room using points, but the front desk agent insisted this was an “upgrade” and even questioned whether that room could be booked with points at all. Despite showing my confirmation, I had to go back and forth just to validate my own reservation. Not the way you want to start your wedding stay. What was more surprising was the complete lack of acknowledgment of our wedding. We had communicated this multiple times in advance, but there was no note, no small gesture, and no recognition from staff unless we brought it up ourselves. A “gesture” was offered in the form of drink vouchers, but they required purchasing food and were presented as if they were a significant favor, which didn’t feel thoughtful. Overall, the experience lacked attention to detail and basic hospitality—especially for a milestone occasion. We had hoped this would be a place we’d return to for anniversaries, but it didn’t feel like the hotel prioritizes or values special celebrations. For a property at this level, I expected much more.
I didn’t like anything about the property
People are not happy or accommodating property was extremely dirty rooms were dirty. When you ask the housekeepers to clean they had it attitude about it.
Paradise in Wailea. This was my third time staying in Wailea - first at Andaz. My family of 5 stayed in an Ilikai Villa which was amazing. We grabbed snacks at the island grocer and loved being able to do laundry. The space and amenities and views made our trip incredible. Highly recommend the modern Mai Tai at the pool, the omlets at breakfast were fresh and delish, and the water at the beach crystal clear. We had attentive service throughout. Breakfast wait times were long so just plan ahead and put your name in - they messsage you when you're table is ready. Already plotting our return!!!
Our stay at Andaz Maui Wailea was the most perfect. The property is beautiful and peaceful. The pools and beach along with the food and amenities all made our stay relaxing and amazing. This property is exceptional opportunity to truly be in paradise.
Fabulous second stay at this property! It is my favorite Hyatt property and we loved coming back. The setting is gorgeous and the size is perfect - it doesn't seem too big or too small. The service was spectacular. A special shout out to Aspen for helping us and making our stay extra special!!! Our 12yo loved it as well. Not just for adults. Best Globalist breakfast buffet! Loved having the free shuttle to nearby restaurants, too.
Concierge was super helpful, A+ , private beach area.
No self park, 100% valet at $50+ a day, getting your room cleaned was a hassle. For $900+ a night, I expect premium service. No ice on each floor. We were odd level, only even had ice and water refill stations. AC was erratic. Shower drain had to be addressed, phone service went out had to have serviced.
Really disappointed with my experience. The hotel has not been kept up and there’s a lot of paint chipping in the stairwells. The rooms are TINY and the layout is just funky overall. The staff wasn’t always the nicest but all of the bellmen were absolutely incredible. Food took forever by the pool but it was delicious and always worth the wait. This hotel has SO many stairs and elevators are not easily accessible. We had a baby in a stroller and it was a nightmare either pushing them up long ramps or carrying them up the stairs. Stay at the Marriott or spend a little more money and stay at the four seasons.
Wonderful time at the Andaz! Not only is this resort absolutely beautiful, but the staff just go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of and having a good time. We had two toddlers with us and everyone and everywhere were so accommodating. Breakfast at Ka'ana Kitchen was a highlight for sure and the lunch menu at Bumbye Bar was great for the whole family. With the different pool tiers and gorgeous beach there's really something for everyone (family, couples, adults, etc). Can't wait to visit again!
This place has gone downhill in the last few years. They need to decide if they offer pool service or not, if they have a valet or not. Both have degraded significantly. Generally the pool staff is young and untrained and largely absent. Just try to get a drink when you want one. And once you do, try to find the staff to sign your check. Expect to wait 30 minutes for both. Also, if you like being under an umbrella, good luck because if the wind blows (which it does rather constantly) they put all the umbrellas down and they blame the wind - instead of fixing their umbrellas. Regarding the valet, if you call for your car, it'll often be there as expected 10 minutes later, but there may not be anyone at the valet station for another 5 - 10 minutes to give you your keys, and then expect that you might be ignored standing next to your car. You can often tell the quality of a hotel by watching people at the front door. The people at the valet waiting for their cars or waiting for help with their bags when they arrive do not look happy.
We were there two weeks ago, for 10 days, the hotel/resort is very, very nice, extremely clean, the rooms are spotless and modern, beautiful showers, really nice bed, close to lots of restaurants and shopping, they have a nice shuttle car that takes you to all of these areas. Really nice workout center. And something that I really appreciated personally, towards the end of our stay, Hawaii unfortunately had that terrible storm, 20 inches of rain over the weekend, all the flights got canceled. It was pretty wild weather. All the staff showed up every day, a smile on their face, asking what they could do for you .We had to extend our room for a couple of days due to canceled flights, the answer was always the same, “no problem we will take of you“, they gave us our same room, with a super, super low rate, they seem like they really look out for their guests. They have a great staff, they have a great general manager, thanks for a great stay, I highly recommend this hotel/resort Tim Carrabine Hudson, Ohio.
We stayed at the Andaz Maui for five nights and we found the hotel absolutely beautiful. The common areas of the hotel, including the lobby as well as the restaurants were stunning with beautiful vistas of the ocean and the three tiered pool which was really lovely. The rooms were very minimalistic and small and to me a bit disappointing, however, the bathroom was done beautifully and the rain showerhead in the large shower was excellent. Nothing makes me more crazy than not being able to wet my hair in a reasonable period of time under a shower, lol. We ate at two of the restaurants, Ka’ana kitchen and Morimoto both which were very enjoyable but Morimoto was excellent. There is a beautiful spa here, but we did not utilize it. There was also an outdoor poolside lounge which we were not able to enjoy due to the Kona low storm that impacted Maui with torrential rain. Pool chairs can be hard to find if you don’t get there early, but on the nicer days we had we were able to enjoy the pool a bit later in the day. Overall the Andaz is a beautiful hotel, I just wish the room vibe matched the rest of the hotel. Service was great, views were spectacular and I would definitely recommend this for a couples vacation.
This hotel was incredible. Lovely staff, incredible breakfast every day, and the pool/beach were in great shape. We loved our stay.
World class resort experience at the best location in Maui. Everything from rooms, food, experiences are all top notch . Andaz Maui will be a yearly visit for us. Beautiful hotel design, the best beach. Best of all was the excellent service experience from EVERYONE!
great location in one of our favorite destinations. The staff is competent and courteous. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast buffet is outstanding but expensive. facilities are as you would expect. location, staff and breakfast are the best part of this stay.
My husband got this "grand" deal (a steal) he said. Let me tell you our experience. It started upon arrival when we had to wait over an hour for our room. During our wait I noticed an over abundance of children running around and playing in the sandbox right in the middle of the lobby. Now I don't have anything against kids but we weren't expecting it and there were A LOT of them. Maybe they all got the "good deal" too. I could go on and on. Service was always with a smile but service was slim. We had problems with getting our car at the "all valet" location. Waited too long every time we wanted it. And they charge $60/day to park the car. Room was claustrophobically small. Ocean view was "partial ocean" at best. The location seems too small but maybe it's because of the amount of people (and children). Seemed very crowded!!! I felt like I could not have a moment in paradise. It's all very commercialized. Don't go to the beach there, they pile people on top of each other. I've been going to Maui for over 40 years. I've stayed everywhere on the island. Good and not so good. The Andez, I left Maui feeling sad. I felt like I'd been herded in and herded out.
Sadly, our last time at this hotel. We've been probably 5 or 6 times in total now. But over the years, the price has gone UP UP UP and the service has gone down. The rooms are looking shabby. The beds are uncomfortable. The pillows felt like little rocks. No one greeted us at valet when we drove in. Check in was fine however it took over an hour for our bags to arrive at our room. There were never any pool chairs available as everyone put towels down at 8am and then left them there all day. The towels we did get had holes in them. We once asked for a pick up after going to dinner at the Four Seasons restaurant as resort pick ups were encouraged. We were told it would be 40 minutes for a pick up. Apparently the valet staff had a party the night before and were hung over. Thankfully the Four Seasons drove us and another Andaz couple home in their courtesy van. Line ups at breakfast were long and the quality of food was poor. Basically I'd rate this a 4 star hotel at best -maybe 3. Not worth the price. If I'm paying well over $1k per night to stay somewhere, I'd actually rather pay a slightly higher amount and stay somewhere worth it like the Four Seasons -where I actually did stay in Oahu and Lanai on the same trip.....and while they were more expensive; they were also worth it. Not a motel pretending to be a 5-star hotel.
We stayed for five nights in February 2026. Overall, a lovely experience, with a couple of opportunities. The room (we were in a partial view suite) was lovely. The 'partial' view was still exceptional! The room was completely clean. Housekeeping was twice daily (hugely appreciated) and did a wonderful job. The room was in great condition. The water pressure in the shower was wonderful. Our accommodations, which were near the "tranquil pool," were very quiet. The hotel is in an absolutely gorgeous location in Wailea. The hotel is connected to multiple other nearby resorts on a stunning oceanfront trail that was lovely for a morning or evening walk or run. Along this trail are several public beaches, all of which are pretty. The beach immediately in front of the hotel is gorgeous (and comes with chairs and umbrellas), and it connects to other beaches that also made for a perfect long walk/run. The hotel's public areas are also fantastic. The pool complex (a series of cascading pools) was lovely. In addition to the main pool complex, there is a small "tranquil pool" for adults only that was a great, quiet setting for relaxing and reading. The lobby is pretty (with a particularly stunning entrance) and there are lots of little books for reading. There are multiple places to eat and drink at the hotel. As expected, these were expensive. However, the establishments had appealing menus, and the food and drinks were tasty. Service was good to excellent. Most staff members were very friendly and working hard. I think the hotel has an opportunity to make the poolside service slightly more attentive/frequent, though this was a small issue. Service at the main bar overlooking the pools was consistently excellent. There is an opportunity for more consistency in policy. For example, hotel documents indicated Hyatt Globalists received a 15 percent discount on non-alcoholic food and beverage spend. This was inconsistently applied by staff (for example, one bartender made a big deal of applying it to a mocktail; another didn't apply it). We had the van take us to a couple of nearby resorts for dinner. This is a complimentary service, which is nice. However, on one of the nights we used the van, we forgot to bring cash to tip the driver. When the same driver picked us up after dinner, he was incredibly rude, obviously upset about not being tipped. We took care of him after accessing cash at the Andaz's ATM, but I thought his rudeness was unprofessional. And if the hotel expects guests to tip, in the modern age where guests do not often carry cash, a non-cash tip option would be convenient. I would say the hotel has two major opportunities. The first is the valet. That was the only place where service professionalism was not consistent. In addition, the process was unclear/inconsistent. As instructed, we always called in advance for our car. Over half the time, the request had not been conveyed to valet staff. On one evening, we waited nearly 40 minutes for our car to be retrieved, causing us to miss a dinner reservation offsite. The second is breakfast. The breakfast buffet itself is exceptional -- wide variety, lovely presentation, nice mix of indulgent and healthy. However, reservations for breakfast are not taken, and lines were long (often 20 minutes plus). It seems a reservation or even texting system would be better--or an expansion of the available space for breakfast. At over $100 for two, the wait time was annoying and not aligned with the otherwise peaceful atmosphere of the resort. The hotel was in a good spot for exploring Maui. Wailea has a couple of (walkable) shopping centers with good food/coffee options. We also explored much of the island and found the Andaz a good spot. So that's the full review. Opportunities aside, it was overall a lovely property and a great few days in Hawaii. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.
Ocean view room was more in line with partial ocean view. You could constantly hear other guests in our room, including being woken up before sunrise every day. I did not receive hyatt points for any spending on property.
Poor status holder recognition and staff not particularly focused on quality of the experience. Beach staff (and inclusions) were a highlight - really only part of experience where you felt hospitality.
Andaz Wailea Beach is a beautiful luxurious resort with an amazing beach. The snorkeling at the beach was great as was the walking path, yoga, and gym. The pool area and gardens are perfect reflections of the tropical Hawaiian climate. It was fun to watch the whales jump while sitting on the balcony. We did not enjoy the squishy bed or bathroom design - the glass shower in the middle of the room and the loudest, echoing toilet we have ever experienced.
The Andaz in Maui was a trip I set my eyes on once I became a globalist and I really enjoyed it here. The location is as good as can be imagined, right on Mokapu Beach and right next to Ulua Beach. The hotel common areas are well-designed, elegant with amazing views of the ocean. The breakfast at Ka’ana Kitchen was a really appreciated perk, with a great and varying selection. Staff were friendly throughout. Although I think the hotel was full, it did not feel crowded. There is a shuttle that can take you around Wailea, although we did not use it because we had rented a car. The rooms were very nice, and although I was a little disappointed not to be upgraded, it was understandable given our travel dates. It really stuck out to me that no matter where your room is, it’s easy to get where you’re going on the property. We were only able to get 12pm and 1pm checkout times for our rooms, but they have courtesy rooms available that you can use. Free (and functional) laundry was a really nice amenity. Such an amazing place to stay and terrific experience!
We stayed as a family in February. There was plenty of room at the beach and pools. The beach is lovely and the snorkeling was a 10. As a guest you can sign up for kayak or outrigger outings including with your resort fee and there are a variety of activities like lei making or bingo included for entertainment. Every afternoon the mochi man came around and it was a great afternoon treat for all but my kids especially loved it! The breakfast buffet was quite good but very pricey. We have stayed at a variety of luxury resorts and I expect to pay a premium; however, I felt like the food and drinks were premium++ pricing and I don’t love being gouged left and right for drinks, smoothies, kids menu, etc.
This was my first time trying temporary tattoo and it was such a great experience. I definitely would recommend all of you who are staying at andaz maui to try it out!! While Justin (aka the best artist ever🤩🤩) was doing the design, he shared stories of his life which inspired me in so many ways. I learned about life that i never could've imagined. I was sort of figuring things out in life at the moment and he said to follow my heart and that it would lead me to the right path. Including the amazing tattoo he did I just absolutely loved chit chatting with him the entire time!! I strongly recommend you try this out!
Beautiful hotel with great service. Four tiers of pools all with great views leading down to a lovely beach. Very nice, clean facilities. Don’t miss out on the activities— we did the complementary outrigger canoe excursion and it was awesome. We felt relaxed and well taken care of for our entire stay!
The hotel is absolutely amazing. It is pretty new, everything is clean, the rooms are spacious. The receptionist was very kind and gave us all the information. The breakfast was really good. AND: If you come during the winter season, especially in February, and you are a bit lucky, you can see whales right from the balcony!
Beautiful location; natural, well maintained and attractive common areas and grounds; many pools with plenty of lounges and umbrellas; on a small but very nice beach. Spa is terrific and can be used all day with a service. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice but a bit small. There were some unexpected fees and parking fee was unexpected and high, but this place is not for those on a budget.
Friendly staff, but it rained a lot and was hard to find where to eat especially lunch as there are few dining venues and most are outside. Rooms were clean, property was beautiful.
I really wanted to love the Andaz Maui because Andaz properties are usually very highly regarded, but this property did not make the mark. It is a nice property with some high points, but also some low points. One high point is that we were upgraded to an ocean view room. We were able to do a lot of whale watching from our lanai each day, but that was also a low point. This resort does not offer much to do when the weather is not good, so we ended up doing a lot of whale watching. We did participate in a palm weaving class with Uncle Ron that was excellent, but a class here and there does not make up for lack of things to do in this resort and area when the weather is poor. The bellmen and courtesy car drivers were prompt and always friendly. Concierge failed to notify us our outrigger Tour was canceled due to poor weather conditions. We only found out when we went to check in at the beach. Kind of messed up our whole day. Food at Morimoto's was mediocre at best and overpriced. The Ka'ana Kitchen breakfast buffet had limited servers, so it took forever to get coffee and order our omelets each morning. Also, the shower - please stop putting in these aquarium showers. They are awkward, even for a married couple. Maybe 10% of people might enjoy this shower style, but think of how awkward they are if you're staying with someone you don't want to see naked when you walk in the bathroom like Grandma or your Dad if you're a kid. They are just obnoxious. I'm sure the poor weather played a big part in my rating, but even with more sunshine, I would not recommend this resort to friends visiting the area.
Amazing resort! The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. This was our second time at the resort and definitely will come back!
We tools Amex fine hotels deal. Expecting an upgrade, if available. Forget the upgrade, even though the hotel was pretty empty, we were given a not so great room even after I requested. There was zero benefit of Amex other than $100 and a good for nothing letter
Beautiful hotel on a great walkway and sandy beach. Delicious food and buffet breakfast. Comfortable bed and fabulous powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Great stay!
The hotel is located in a fantastic are. The room is wonderful as are the grounds, gym, beach and pools. The staff is also great. However, the breakfast buffet lacks much variety, is highly expensive for what you get and is not that great. In terms of quality. The cocktail and food prices at every resort option are insanely too high. I expect to pay more in Hawaii and at a resort, but this was beyond a premium. This was robbery. A cocktail can be as much as $40. You cannot park your own car and you are forced to pay $60 a day for valet no matter what you do. That is a bad policy when the cost of the room is already very high per night. Parking should be included or guests should have a self parking option the. Rooms are around $800 a night minimum. So, in summary the facility and grounds are very nice, but you will be nickled and dimed at every turn to spend more money on items that should be included or cost less Than they do at this resort
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Experience – Thanks to Joshua Our experience at the Andaz Hotels pool and hotel was nothing short of extraordinary, and a huge part of that is thanks to Joshua, the pool and hotel supervisor. From the very beginning, Joshua went above and beyond in ways that truly set this experience apart from any other resort stay we’ve ever had. Joshua personally took care of us and helped coordinate what turned out to be the absolute best event we could have imagined to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and his presence alone brought a sense of calm, confidence, and genuine care. You could tell immediately that he wasn’t just doing a job — he was committed to creating a meaningful, unforgettable experience. The entire staff was phenomenal. Every team member we encountered was warm, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help. There was never a moment where we felt overlooked or rushed. The level of hospitality was truly world-class and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another reservation. What truly stood out was the exceptional value and generosity of the resort. The deals offered through Andaz were the best we could find anywhere, and the amount of complimentary amenities was honestly impressive. From creative art activities to thoughtful extras throughout the property, everything felt intentional, elevated, and designed to make guests feel special. This experience perfectly explains why we return twice a year. There is something truly unique about this place — it doesn’t just feel like a hotel, it feels like a destination where memories are made. The energy, the service, and the atmosphere combine into something truly special. It honestly feels like the kind of place where global celebrations happen — the kind of place you’d expect Beyoncé to celebrate her birthday every year. Joshua is a true asset to Andaz. His leadership, professionalism, communication, and genuine kindness made this stay unforgettable. We are beyond grateful to him and the entire Andaz team for creating such a magical, meaningful celebration for us. Thank you so much for an experience we will remember forever. We cannot wait to return — again and again.
