Charming , I love old historical buildings !
Nothing !
Delightful
Nothing - but expensive
This hotel is so lovely. When we arrived, the lady who checked us in was very welcoming and friendly. Our room was a decent size. There was a radio which was on, a nice touch for a bit of relaxing music. The whole hotel and restaurant are nicely decorated. We had dinner which was really tasty and had a complimentary welcome drink. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of cooked choices on the menu. The staff during our stay were all very pleasant. Although they had building works on for a new function room and the car park was busy, the builders and hotel staff were very helpful with finding space for us to park. Good location and Corsham is a nice quaint town.
The room was lit with a couple small lamps, it would have been ideal to have the option of a brighter light for the evening.
The location. The bathroom
The bedroom had far too little light. I couldn’t read in the seating area even with the lamp on. The breakfast was nice but the staff were poor. On both mornings we had to ask for items to be replenished- bowls spoons milk. Really basic stuff
Beautiful pub with lots of character in lovely village of Corsham. Pretty outside spaces. Clean and very comfortable bedrooms. Fantastic breakfast. Helpful and pleasant staff. This was our second stay. Highly recommend.
Nothing to dislike.
It looks very organized, has a good vibe, and I like the colours.
There was no separate hand towel in the bathroom. The room was booked for two people, but we received only two large towels for showering and one bath mat. I felt it was missing one for hands.
Nice comfortable dog friendly hotel. Food was good amd the bar provided pleasant evening. Well situated next to the common, which was great for walking the dog. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. The complimentary drinks were much appreciated.
Expensive although we stayed at a peak time bank holiday weekend so possibly understandable. Could hear people outside of garden rooms so soundproofing could be a little better.
Camera molto ampia, pulita, parcheggio privato molto comodo.
staff were polite and friendly when you could find them!
The room was very small for the price.
Excellent breakfast with great service.
Some attention to detail missing. Room was very dark and extremely hot! Mirror light in bathroom didn’t work so difficult to apply makeup.
Struttura accogliente e caratteristica, ottima posizione, parcheggio e ottima colazione
Nulla, tutto OK

Lovely large room, great location.

Chambre 9.
Great location and very comfortable bedroom
Our room was outside and there were still people drinking and talking outside late evening - not a huge problem but one to be aware of
Wow, Great location. Amazing property with great features. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff is very polite and friendly.
The location was ideal for this two day trip. The hotel and room had an olde-worlde charm and a 'boutique' feel as advertised. The staff, when available, were polite and helpful. The off-street parking for guests was a bit cramped but welcome. The outside spaces (beer garden etc.) were pleasant and relaxing and the bar itself had a good atmosphere. All in all, it was a pleasant stay but should really be better value for the price paid.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing. The buffet table had several items missing which were only replaced on request. The cooked breakfast was more like one from a decent cafe than a four star hotel and the evening meal was fine but overpriced when compared to the alternatives available close by. The building work next door was a bit overbearing; however, this is not entirely the fault of the hotel and should be cleared up eventually. The hotel seems to live on a past reputation and can appear to take its customers for granted.
Lovely hotel with Lovely staff
Our room was incredibly warm - only had a tiny window which was open and whilst a fan was provided and used, it didn't do much to reduce the temperature. Nobody to blame for the fabulous summer we've had!
Cleanliness
The reception wasn’t very warm when we arrived.
Room very poor, showe disgusting
Lovely country hotel. Traditional and welcoming
Small room but we knew that when we booked the 'snug' option
stayed here several times, rooms are smallish but comfortable, it is an old coaching inn so struggles with heat in the summer, evening meal and breakfast was extremely good as usual
there is some building work going on which limits parking spaces and is quite dusty but sure this is only for a short period. Accomodation has certainly got much more expensive in recent years
Friendly staff, great location. Charming town
We stayed in Corsham for a week and found our selves drawn to this rather lovely place . 3 times for early evening drinks and finally for a meal. The one thing that was evident across the entire experience was the staff - cheerful , proactive and available. Special mention goes to a young guy whose name escapes me - but know he is doing his masters at Bristol Uni and working most days! Such a delightful guy who delivered service so lacking in many establishment - it’s called going the extra mile! The chicken liver parfait was below par but the Lamb and Fish of the day were excellent !
A one night anniversary stay which we very much enjoyed. A well presented boutique room with pleasant lighting and a large bath. A nice mixture of indoor and outdoor dining and drinking areas. An interesting menu with sufficient vegan options for us. The plant based breakfast was large and well prepared too. Service friendly and helpful. Not cheap, but not exorbitant and breakfast in the room rate and two complimentary drinks made a difference. Free parking and a village, roamed by peacocks, to explore. Would recommend
Gorgeous Inn, beautiful room with fantastic shower.
Our large family celebration - held in a welcoming private room, with doors opening onto the terrace - turned out the perfect occasion. Excellent food, warm, generous and attentive staff and an exquisite setting made it into the event we had hoped for. It all ran like clockwork. Thank you to the Team at the Methuen Arms.
Nette kamer
De ligging
We had lunch here today and it was excellent. There were several menus ro pick from, a set £20 menu, the al la carte and a lunch menu. All offered a good selection of options to cater for everyone. I ordered the half lobster and the second dish was a Caesar salad - both weee excellent. Good service. Highly recommend.
Everything Lovely location Lovely rooms Lovely food Lovely staff
Liked it all
The bed and the shower.
Lack of storage. The room was in need of refurbishment. There was evidence of water ingress with wallpaper torn. Absolutely not worth the money paid. My wife and I were celebrating her 80th birthday and were very disappointed. It came across that non-residents were preferred customers. If we were staying in a superior room then I cannot imagine what a "normal"room was like.
Character and charm. The gardens and outdoor dining areas.
Relatively basic room for a luxury room.
Všechno.... úžasný pobyt....
The hotel was okay overall, The building has charm and the location was convenient for us. Breakfast was a nice spread, not very varied but quite ok.
Hotel did not quite meet our expectations. The room felt tired and in need of maintenance. There were areas of peeling or damaged walls, and the lighting was extremely low, making it difficult to see properly in the room at night. There was no air conditioning and the room was very hot, although the fan provided did help. We were also allocated one room on the first night and then had to change room the next day, without any clear explanation on the ‘why’ or some perk for the inconvenience except two drinks at bar. This was inconvenient and upsetting auspicious since we arrived late at night. The staff were generally polite and some were pleasant, but others felt distant and not particularly welcoming. At times, even simple requests at breakfast, such as ordering coffee, felt like a chore for them.
We could find no fault with hotel or staff. Superb!!
Nothing
Beautiful, lovely food, great room, friendly staff especially the girl on front desk.
Well appointed bedroom. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cosy, charming, beautiful location + a great breakfast
We loved everything here and genuinely this hotel is a little gem. There is an open field with sheeps nearby and a woody area for hotter days for walks with dogs. The premise is dog friendly so it was genuiely great to stay here with the dogs who were allowed everywhere.
Dinner menu was not the greatest, I would have hoped for more traditional choices. The food overall wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either.
Svært sjarmerende sted i gamle delen av Corsham. Veldig god mat. Rent og fint.
Litt lunken mottakelse.
We absolutely loved staying at this place only regrets we were at a two day wedding and we didn’t have enough time to be there.
Helpful friendly staff
Bedroom small and in need of decoration. Overpriced for size of room
Beautiful town the staff in the methuen arms were friendly smiley and attentive .. made our stay lush .
The bathroom floor had litter on it .. and hairs in shower but otherwise all good.
The location was perfect. We had a very restful night to break up a journey.
Great location and breakfast
Rooms are small
Beautiful
Everything
We celebrated our wedding at The Methuen Arms in June 2026 and the team were brilliant, the table in the Scullery was dressed beautifully. Jovan the head chef created a great menu and canapés which our guests absolutely loved . I would highly recommend this establishment of our experience can be replicated I can say you won’t be disappointed. Special thanks to Megan , Jovan and there respective teams who delivered everything we could have wished for 10/10
Breakfast was delicious Room stunning Staff excellent Overall a beautiful place to stay
Period properly with lots of charm
The bathroom was fully enclosed and had no night light (low luminosity), so it was a bit difficult to use the loo without having the light on
Superbly organised.
Nothing
Me and my wife stopped over here on our way to Devon with two dogs. The man at the front desk was very welcoming and even called me to make sure we were on route as we were held up. Ample parking available and it was free. We were upgraded to a better room upon check in which was really nicely appointed.m and comfortable. Breakfast was a set menu and was of a good quality. Hotel is a good base if you are considering exploring the Cotswolds or West Country.
Lovely greeting on arriving and great staff. The complimentary drinks were a lovely touch. Nice room. Comfy bed and big room with complimentary homemade biscuits and tea bags.
Hard pillows and lack of hot water later in the day. Had a super bath in the accommodation but couldn't use it. No mirror close to a plug socket so difficult to dry your hair. Breakfast on first morning was really chaotic but in fairness to the staff they worked really hard and were understaffed and getting used to a new menu. Day 2 morning was much better.
Tutto perfetto: stanza molto carina e pulita, letto comodissimo. Personale molto professionale, gentile e accogliente: complimenti! Edificio storico dalla bellissima atmosfera. Parcheggio molto comodo.
Nice location
A very pleasant stay. Lovely appointed room and with a friendly and courteous team. The evening meal was delicious, with a varied menu... as was the breakfast
Position in the town
Slow service at breakfast Rooms very small & subject to noise from the communal rooms No dedicated parking Expensive to stay there
We had a comfortable and relaxing stay. The staff were cheerful, welcoming and helpful. The food, evening meal and breakfast, was very good. We booked a larger room, which was very nicely appointed and comfortable. The radio playing chill music was a nice touch. Loved the Bramley toiletries and the complimentary refreshments.
Lovely room looking out on the courtyard Very good evening meal & plentiful breakfast
Nothing
Traditional and decorated in keeping with the property
The only issue we had was parking on arrival as the car was full. No spaces reserved for those staying at the hotel and this may be worth review by management.
Outstanding breakfast. Room was small but well fitted out. Comfortable bed.
Because of the very effective double glazing to stop the traffic noise, our small room (described as cost) git very stuffy in the night. The electric fan helped but it still felt stuffy and affected my sleep.
Excellent. All freshly prepared and good service.
We were in Room 20 and it was very small. No space for clothes just a few hangers on back of door.
Location - centre of the village
charaktervolles Hotel
alles gut
Very well appointed and confortable room, in a freiendly pub with great food.
Zeer vriendelijk personeel, fijne kamer en goed bed, heerlijk gegeten!

Revisiting our old favourite haunt after moving away from the area 9 years ago, we were very pleased to see that The Methuen had remained a very pleasant place to stay and dine. We were given a warm welcome on arrival and whilst waiting for our room to be prepared, we ate a delicious lunch in the bar area. Our signature room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated with a beautiful bathroom. Dinner was delicious and served by a charming and attentive young man. A lovely experience all round and we will be sure to return.
Great staff - very friendly and helpful. The waitresses on the first two nights dealt with a lot of people on their own and I thought they did it very well.
Just little things - the towel radiator in Room 8 couldn't be switched off and that didn't help the heat situation! The lights on the bathroom mirror also didn't work.
Location, layout of the building. Lovely garden and parking. The room was lovely.
Breakfast was a big disappointment! Staff not interested. Quality of breakfast was poor and a small plate. Sadly this didn’t deliver like The George Inn at Norton St Phillip.
A beautiful spot - abd an impressive looking hotel. We had dinner in tge sculkery wiyh friends which could not have been better. The food was amazing and the service superb. Our room - the Snug - adequately described its size ! It was small dark and very hot. No air con. Bed was comfortable and shower was nice although the lack of a bathroom mirror light ( couldnt be fixed quickly) meant getting ready for a wedding -doing make up - etc was very difficult. Not what I would expect for the price of the room. Would not recommend the Snug.
Room 16 had no wardrobe just 3 hangers on two hooks, only one able to hold a hanger. No dressing table and little storage space for clothes/shoes, tiny bedroom, no bath or conditioner in bathroom. Grossly overpriced and no single occupancy rate.
Clean, attractive room. Good location in a sweet town. Lovely courtyard areas.
Stuffy room, a bit dark and hot. Breakfast was disappointing. They didn’t clean our room after the first night. For £270 a night, I would expect this. Staff were ok but unresponsive and mostly inexperienced.
Lovely pub, great rooms and great location, very clean and room was very quiet - I will be back
Beautifully decorated boutique pub. Very comfortable rooms with Bramley toiletries and lots of extra thoughtful items like ear plugs, pillow spray to make your stay more relaxing . Food on site was very good both for dinner and breakfast . Staff were very healthful and actually had personalities. Great location in Corsham centre with really good walks nearby. Very accommodating with dogs . Definitely would recommend and stay again .
No air conditioning in our room at the front - was very hot as couldn’t really get a breeze through. Also opening the windows meant we had the noise from the road. Hotel did provide fans but perhaps something to consider as the summers are getting hotter
Parcheggio gratuito, colazione , cena , ampiezza della stanza, pulizia , tutto perfetto
Gorgeous building and beer garden. Wide range of beverages, extensive menu inc vegan. Staff clean polite and very efficient. Sumptuous settings and luxurious accessories in outside seating area. Small pot of chips £5.95... to be fair they were really nice.
The property was clean & tidy with a lot of character. It’s a labyrinth of rooms. Lots of places to sit for dinner etc lovely court yard & a car park out the back.
The restaurant was okay but they need more staff when busy. There was a poor girl on her own in a busy restaurant one night. Mistakes were made that were not her fault as she was trying to serve several tables at once.also several things on menu were not available.maybe tell your staff before feeding them to the lions.
Our welcome was nice and the staff were very friendly. The furnishings in the room were lovely, also home made cookies and very nice toiletries.
Our room had a major leak issue and the walls were badly stained, once we notified staff they apologised, duly reported it and i am sure this will get sorted out. The evening meal was average and not too well cooked. The breakfast menu looked lovely but sadly the option i wanted is no longer offered even though it was on the sheet and my husband ordered porridge then poached eggs and they all came out together meaning the eggs were cold when he got to them. Little things but for the cost i would expect better.
I love the Methuen and the people that make it what it is ❤️
In pieno centro, praticamente all'imbocco della via pedonale.
Super close to the adorable little village
The restaurant for residents breakfast took awhile. We were slightly overlooked …
Excellent
Not impressed. Reception were matter of fact when we arrived and not that welcoming. The room looked ok on first scrutiny but there were a lot of flaws for such a high price. The bathroom shower tray had hairs in the plug hole. The bedside lamp was rather shabby and the light was not bright enough to read by. The restaurant staff were not efficient and same as reception, were not that friendly. The food was ok but vastly overpriced for what you got. Other places in the vicinity better value for money.
Room was exceptional, comfortable and clean. Delicious dinners and breakfasts. Great location with secure parking. Staff were wonderful, everyone was happy and very helpful. Lauren was particularly kind with my daughter and her friend.
Nothing.
A wonderful pub with lovely rooms, amazing food and attentive and welcoming staff. Great location with onsite parking.
Immaculately clean and presented with amazing staff and a delicious breakfast.
Buzzy, comfortable and very friendly acommodation situated in a beautiful village
Nothing
My daughter was getting married nearby and I was anxious about arrangements to collect keys and park cars before official check in time. Reception staff could not have been more helpful and reassuring and on the day everything worked like clockwork. I asked to use the private room for breakfast so that we could all gather together and this was also marvellous with staff providing endless pots of tea and also catering for non resident friends. The breakfast was really excellent and we were really impressed with the care and attention from the staff. Would have been nice to have stayed longer!
All was great!
Cool ad quirky rooms with nice touches. Breakfast was very good. Complimentary drink on arrival. Complimentary tea and coffee / water in the room.
The staff/service was fantastic! The food (both breakfast and dinner) was superb! Our room had a good strong shower too which I didn't want to get out of! Wonderful settings for places to eat with the two courtyards and the lovely dining room.
The matress was a little soft and there were no tissues (property policy apparently) which was slightly frustrating for me with my hayfever.
