The reception staff were rude , the noise was horrendous at night , no warning that it is like sleeping in a war zone !! It was frightening! bed was not comfortable , didn’t respond to email over parking near property , so too late to get parked in secure car park , we had to leave early so parked behind in ncp , where all the drug dealers where hanging out at 5.30 am , again frightening , completely put us off ever coming to Manchester again !

There weren’t always many staff around to help. When we arrived to drop bags off there was no one at reception. We had to search for someone when we wanted to check in later in the afternoon. We arrived back at the hotel in the evening around 8.30 pm but couldn’t get food as last orders was 10 minutes earlier.

This hotel is excellent and one of the best we have stayed in. It is located within the city so it is easy to walk to the nearby trams and city centre yet because of the effective double glazing the usual city noise is barely heard. The room was large and very comfortable with a good sized comfortable bed. The bathroom was a very good size with an effective shower and lighting gave a relaxing ambiance. Coffee and biscuits were a pleasing extra that is so often missing these days. Breakfast was well catered for in a relaxing environment and the staff were all courteous and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel which was excellent value for money and we look forward to returning again.

There was nothing negative at all.

I liked everything! Spacious and clean room, comfy bed, big bathroom with a bath and a shower cabin, amazing location and the staff is super friendly and helpful. It definitely exceeded my expectations and will be staying here again for sure.

Well the breakfast was fine. The bacon wasn’t to my taste: in that it was steamed rather than crispy. But the choice was good. Loved the pastries. 🥐

The breakfast restaurant was really warm. Not that we didn’t like it- just got hot under the collar.

Jag tyckte inte om att stå på knä för att raka mig, på grund av att tvättstället satt så lågt. Toaletten spolade så dåligt så det var besvärligt för två personer att ha en toalett. Det fanns ingen på hotellet som kunde fixa toaletten.

Staff were awful, booked a double room in the hotel for me and my Mrs for the night, checked in on my own as my Mrs was meeting me later on in the night due to working, when I came back to the hotel, the hotel staff proceeded to tell me that my Mrs wasn’t allowed in the hotel as she wasn’t there when I checked in, they then threatened to call the police on me multiple times for trying to bring her into the hotel, Caribbean bloke on the desk is a complete idiot and tried to continuously argue and shout at and became increasingly hostile towards me about why she was not allowed in the hotel, trying to tell me that I had booked a room for one person when I hadn’t (his employment should be reviewed)

Nous avons aimé l emplacement de l hôtel, proche de tout ainsi que le copieux petit-déjeuner. Le personnel est très gentil et c est adapté à notre langue.

Absence de Mini frigo dans la chambre.

Struttura comoda da raggiungere dalla stazione Piccadilly, vicina al museo di arte moderna e al centro città, tutto raggiungibile a piedi. Personale gentile, pulito e buona colazione dolce e salata. Consigliato!

Large comfortable beds and good location

Unable to open windows and air con set to 19 so the room became very warm with 4 adults. Lots of road noise throughout the night and into the morning which disturbed sleep.

Everything was excellent. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped and comfortable, the neighbourhood is nice and within walking distance from the train station. The staff was polite and available to help.

We had some issues with our key cards, but they were promptly resolved by the staff. Also, it was a tad confusing to find the entrance due to construction works -- clearer signs would have been helpful.

Breakfast was less impressive than I expected. Bar man didn’t call last orders at the bar and just started shutting the bar down without asking us if we wanted a last drink.

The double beds were comfortable, but would prefer a king-size which the room could accommodate. Also lovely to have clean towels every day but happy to have them changed after a couple of days for sustainability/ environmental reasons.

We had a great stay at the Townhouse Hotel. It was very central and especially easy to catch trams and buses. We both slept well and were not disturbed by having a room at the front of the hotel. We particularly appreciated Florinda’s help at breakfast time. Rebecca, on reception, gave us a good recommendation for dinner and pointed out useful places nearby.

Das Townhouse Manchester ist ein sehr sauberes, komfortables gutes Hotel. Alles ist sehr gut organisiert, vom Early Check-in bis zum reibungslosen Nachtcheckout. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet. Die Betten waren die besten, die wir jemals hatten, wir fühlten uns wie zu Hause. Ebenfalls beeindruckend war das Frühstücksbuffet. Alles war zu jeder Zeit ausreichend vorhanden. Die Mitarbeiter waren stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Lage ist auch perfekt, um Manchester zu erkunden. Man ist schnell zu Fuß in jeder Ecke der Stadt. Bahnhof und Metrolink sind in unmittelbarer Reichweite. Wir können es nur empfehlen. Wenn wir wieder in Manchester sind, ist es unsere erste Wahl.

Brilliantly located, close to Canal Street, China Town as well as central Manchester. Room was high quality and brilliant value. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Good central location. Check in was smooth, reception friendly. Room spotlessly clean. Aircon does not make for a good sleep. Breakfast was the only minus, hot food was so bland. Would stay again.

Great location,close to all amenities, highly recommend the food and the bar area but if you require something more there's plenty of food places in walking distance. Rooms are spacious with everything you need, the value for money is definitely worth it , the place was spotless housekeeping were quick and efficient , it was an excellent service offered by all staff but an extra shout out to Lottie,Lucy ,Ziggy and Jeremiah for the recommendations for the local area ,the extra items when we needed them and the exceptional customer service. Regards noise it didn't bother us yes there there is traffic on the main road round the hotel and you do get the usual hub bub of transport but the hotel is well insulated and it's just a hum outside. So don't let that put you off as a guest. Further note we will be back.

I requested an early check-in as we were attending a graduation ceremony that afternoon. so would appreciate the extra time to get changed. We were accommodated and this was really helpful.

For such a beautiful building with potential for something quite unique (if simple) the interior of the rooms and general areas was a bland. It was a shame there is no reception area as this meant that unless we went into the bar there wasn't anywhere to sit and wait for others.

Was a lovely hotel, walking distance from Piccadilly. Easy place to get around. Good room size, lovely high ceilings.

The shower! I personally don’t like overhead showers (waterfall heads) if you have them provide shower caps, now I always travel with them. Women don’t like them!

The family room was lovely and big and although there was no real view the windows were large. Bathroom was excellent, with a big bath as well as a good shower.

I had a very spacious room and it was exceptionally clean. Also quiet.

The central location places you no more than a brisk 10/15 walk from any of the stations or key city centre sights. The room was reasonably clean and comfortable.

In the rooms there few marks on walls/curtain and some lack of attention to detail in respect of cleaning - mark on carpet and some dirt under the bed. The entrance to the hotel is pretty odd/unremarkable. Staff could have been more accommodating in respect of breakfast on the first morning of our stay. We had to leave early and requested some form of breakfast to take with us - despite paying in advance ‘the manager’ was unwilling to make any provisions which was unimpressive. Breakfast on the second day was acceptable in terms of range but not noteworthy. A small selection of everything you would expect with cooked and continental options but the quality of ingredients was average. The Pain au chocolate had the odour of a damp dog and the sausage and bacon were again average in quality, so all in all a disappointing breakfast experience that doesn’t align with everything else was ‘good’. Given the lack of flexibility around breakfast and its poor standard I wouldn’t return or recommend using this hotel.

Perfect location for a quiet business evening away whilst running an event. Nicely decorated room with a beautiful bathroom and most importantly in this heat, air con!! Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and of high quality with a particular thanks to Florinda at breakfast who looked after me well and helped me with vegetarian cooked breakfast items - look forward to returning soon!

The room on fifth floor had unsightly stained carpet. The bathroom was cramped with dated decoration. Peeling paintwork on the ceiling and dated sink unit

Non so se sia colpa di Booking o dell'Hotel ma ci è stata assegnata una camera con bagno per disabili senza che questo fosse segnalato al momento della prenotazione. Di solito belle strutture serie viene sempre specificato. L'inconveniente più grande era il lavandino piccolissimo e basso in quanto deve essere accessibile da una sedia a rotelle. Era difficile anche lavarsi i denti. Oltre a questo ho trovato scomodi i letti troppo molli e ridotta al minimo la pulizia, le superfici in stanza sempre impolverate. Insomma niente di tragico ma non quello che ci si aspetta da un 4 stelle.

The staff suggested a change of rooms after indicating that the matrass was not OK. A great an easy solution that has helped us enjoying our stay. The breakfast is great and the free chilled water at the reception is a treat as well.

I chose this hotel based on the reviews and was disappointed to find the receptionist offering free early checkin for a 5 star review when we were checking in, which explains the high rating! The hotel is in a good location and staff were nice but it’s a 3 star hotel at best. I’d say it’s ok value for money but don’t have too high expectations. Room was dated with limited amenities. Bathroom was slightly dirty.

The property was very dated, the rooms were chipped with paint and the bed was so squeaky you couldn’t breathe without it making SO much noise.

Abbiamo trovato acqua in stanza gratis e due biscottini. I giorni successivi acqua cambiata una sola volta e ultimo giorno ci è stato dato 1 biscottino, ma mettine due no la camera è doppia!?!

Moquette in camera, pulizia sufficiente ma non perfetta, le finestre erano estremamente sporche. Letti molto duri. Impossibilità di oscurare la luce con le tende, che non coprono bene le finestre. Lavandino minuscolo. In altre stanze simili c'era sia la doccia che la vasca separate, ci è stata data una stanza solo con vasca. Colazione sufficiente nel salato (anche se uova erano pessime, un giorno sono state addirittura ritirate dal personale), buoni i cornetti. Hall molto piccola. In generale non tornerei mai in questo hotel dovessi recarmi in città.

One night B&B stay ahead of a work conference. Very good value for the money paid. Warm welcome and comfortable room. My only criticism was the coffee machine at breafast did not give me what I clicked. It may simply have needed the milk filling however. There was a milk jug beside it to use istead.

The man on reception was unwelcoming. The room was tired. Breakfast was ok, but nothing cooked fresh or to order. Expensive for what it was.

Staff was great and very dedicated. Supportive with requests and very helpful. The aircon was good. Cold water available throughout. Easy access to public transport and a free map of the city! Spotless clean sheets and bathroom. Clearly displayed signs and where to get extra stuff or info. Pristine and fluffy towels. Easy access shower cabin and bathtub. Shower gel and hand soap of great scent.

Pillows and mattress very hard and very uncomfortable. Probably the fleet needs renewing. Multiple pillows provided in the room setting but all same hard. Windows on the top floor did not open at all as the opening handle is too high up so it can feel like minimal airflow. Very dark during the day as sun-facing and curtains could not be open as the room overheated if left open.

Comfy rooms and bed. Very clean. Staff very helpful, especially Jameiah? who welcomed us. Right in town. Short walk to gallery, libraries and Gay Town.

Breakfast was average. Fried eggs first day overdone. Maybe they were even meant to be poached? Horrible coffee. Scrambled eggs second day were dreadful. Tasted weird? Some kind of egg mix or UHT? It isn't hard, fresh eggs an cream/milk - cook!

All staff members I encountered seemed to wish that they would rather have been anywhere else. They definitely need training in guest relations and customer service.

I stayed with my friend and two daughters for a concert in the city. We were lucky enough to find that The Townhouse have rooms with two king size beds, so were able to book one room for the 4 of us. Rooms were clean, spacious and beds were huge!

The room was so clean, the staff, particularly Jeramiah ,was so polite welcoming and friendly We were able to leave our luggage before arrival and after the arrival.

The pillows are too hard. Maybe put a hard pillow with a soft pillow then people have the option .
