Very
Very good staff. Thanks
The rooms were vast and good for two people. The staff - be it the cleaning staff or the welcoming staff at the reception - were amazingly nice. The hotel was close to supermarkets.
During our second night, my friend saw a mouse in the room close to midnight. We went down to the reception and their response was "it happens and they are doing their best." We were in distress and tired and they told us to move to another room in less than 10 minutes. When we talked to the reception again about this, the only thing they told us that we should have been given more time. They did not offer us anything.

Absolutely terrible. This was the first time I have ever booked a Hilton-branded hotel where I checked in and, within minutes of entering the room, decided to check out and request a refund. The hotel was simply filthy. While it may have the furniture, amenities, and overall appearance shown on the website, the cleanliness was extremely disappointing. The carpets throughout the hotel were visibly dirty, and the lobby itself immediately gave us the impression that the property was not well maintained. Because it was late, we initially thought the room couldn’t possibly be that bad—it’s a Hilton, after all. Unfortunately, we were wrong. As soon as we entered the room, we opened the windows and turned on the AC, but within about 10 minutes, my husband, who suffers from sarcoidosis, experienced a flare-up while sitting in the room. The stench of the room was horrible. The beds were clean, and the shower/toilet and sink were clean, but everything else was obviously dusty and musty. Anyone with terrible allergies or sensitivities would not last the night in the room. Thankfully, the front desk staff were very kind and understanding and did not give us any trouble when we explained the situation and requested to leave. However, I was genuinely shocked by the condition of this hotel and how poorly maintained and unclean it was. This was not at all the experience I expected from a Hilton property, and I would not stay here again.
I enjoy my stays at Freepoin Hotel.
At the beginning, there was a problem with the lock from the interior for security. They responded quickly and I changed rooms.
I want to give a shout out especially to Arlee. I enjoy talking with her.
Location
Room had a makeshift pipe and drape closet instead of a real one, very small bathroom,TV turned off every 5 min, toilet ran, no decaf coffee in room or at breakfast and staff rude when requested, unemptied trash in all cans, carpet in common areas filthy, last day all milk and creams were spoiled at breakfast station. This place needs serious attention. Most staff very rude and not understanding of hospitality industry.
Friendly and helpful staff
Quick one night stay in August. Stayed on 2nd floor. Pro: Nice to be next to a Starbucks, Dunkin, Whole Foods and across the street from a Trader Joes and Chipotle. Cons: Hotel unfortunately isn't in the best shape. Very generally unkept and not clean. Hairs under our pillows and in main sheet area of bed. Temp wouldn't go below 74 and was very loud, made dripping and clinking noise. Carpets were very dirty. Bathroom style was nice and staff was as well. If I had to stay more then 1 night I'd likely have left, figured that was worth a share for those considering it.
We were almost afraid to touch anything, not only because the room wasn’t particularly clean, but also because it felt like everything came with an extra charge: water, premium Wi-Fi, parking… It’s ridiculous. I could understand expensive parking if the hotel were right in the middle of a busy city center, but this hotel is basically in the suburbs. The supermarket literally next door has more generous parking conditions. On top of that, our room was located right next to a staff room. Starting early in the morning, we could hear their conversations extremely clearly. I have absolutely no complaints about the staff talking and doing their job, the problem is that I don’t understand why this particular room is being sold to guests when it clearly isn’t properly soundproofed. I even recorded a video from our bed where you can hear just how thin the walls are. With all that being said, this was one of those cases where it felt like a well-known hotel name cared less about the guest experience than many smaller, unknown hotels we’ve stayed at.
Location
We had to change rooms twice as we found a mice.
Excellent location (within walking distance of Walmart, CVS, and other shops), plenty of free parking, polite staff, and a spacious, very quiet room with a seating area. The only issue was weak water pressure in the shower and a constantly running toilet (we reported it and I'm sure it will be fixed for the next guest).
The location worked well for us.
It was not clean and there were problems with the plumbing in our room. When I complained about it, no attempt was made to make it better.
Staff was amazing
Parking fee Breakfast should be included
Perks were friendly staff, and hotel was beside a Starbucks and Whole Foods. Also across from a walking path. Downside was I had blood on my sheets and brown stains on my towels which if you look through reviews happens more than you would believe. Parking is $25 a night and no reason for it, they aren’t limited parking by any stretch. TV has 12 channels. Price did not match experience/location/value. Wouldn’t recommend
I like that the room had a comfortable bed, tv and A/C. The room had a good enough space and area to eat food.
I did not like the bathroom counter was dirty and saw a piece of hair also dust. The toilet paper was low and the cleaner didn’t replace a new one. The tissues were touched and put back. The toilet was clogged and the staff didn’t help get it fix.
The location was good for us, near family and close to Whole Foods and other food spots we used. Very dog friendly which was great as we like to travel with our large Bernadoodle.
I didn’t realize there was a charge for pets and it was a pricey stay with parking charges too. Also , no one cleaned our room even thought we stated the dog was not in the room.
Property was the similar to others but Toilet holder was broken when we went to the room . My son went to the gym, the machine made a noise , then the night staff shouted at my son who is a customer in the hotel. There is other way to talk to my son . I am an honor member of the Hilton but the staff charged me $25 per night for a parking, while not many cars were parked, and I paid $270 while the night rate was $170.
not much
It was clean. People at the desk were very nice. Bed was comfortable. Needed a little cosmetics. Lots of stores close by.
Property was fine. But, hard to find. Had to pay for parking, while there was a lot of parking. Plus very expensive, compared to a hotel we stayed at in Lexington.
The bathroom was nice, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very courteous and friendly. Apart from that I'm struggling to think of anything else.
First of all the location. The Hotel states this. 'A complimentary shuttle is offered to local attractions within a 2 mi radius of the hotel and includes Cambridge Business Park and Harvard Square stops'. That's not the case at all, they stopped operating the shuttle a few months back. It's a bit of a hike to Alewife T station. I was led to believe that it was a few minutes but it's little under 0.5 mile and it's uphill in both directions because you have to go over a railway flyover. This really put a dampener on my trip. Secondly the room had no 24 hour TV stations. No CNN, Fox, etc, whatever your flavor of news is they didn't have it. First time I've ever stayed in a hotel that didn't offer at least one 24 hour news channel.
David and Kayla at the front desk made our stay wonderful!
Very small choice
Staff very unfriendly and no help with any of the many issues
This is not a Hilton standard hotel , I have stayed in Hilton's all round the world and this is the worst I have ever experienced .This is a travel lodge standard and a poor one at that . The state of the place , technically is a fire hazard as well as unclean . List of issues , room 412, big large brown marks on the artex ceiling above the bed , yes artex. Electrical wires hanging loose, the air con plug is off its fixings. The metal rim to the door entry for the room on the inside hanging loose and very sharp . Someone will cut their leg on it . Beds unclean , domestic services poor, no loo rolls. Breakfast is basic and served on paper plates, coffee is in takeaway cups, juice is in plastic and you have a disposable knife and fork to eat it with . During my stay , everyone has complained , but it falls on deaf ears. Even a Hilton employee who was saying here, said he has never seen anything so basic and poor. It wouldn't be as bothered if it was cheap, but they ask for a hefty price . If you get to this stage, your need to give yourself a shake if you are still thinking about booking. Avoid avoid avoid . We will be making a formal complaint to the Hilton group and seeking compensation. Spoilt our stay in a great city. Loads better Hotels and to the Hilton management, you need to think seriously about the damage this is doing to your reputation as a good quality hotel chain .
Well updated, designed and maintained. Friendly, helpful staff
Thought breakfast was included in rate - the cost is $25
I would rate this hotel as a two-three star hotel. It is quite old. The lobby area has been renovated somewhat, so is presentable, but unfortunately the rooms and room levels are less desirable. Old and dirty carpet throughout with a musty smell. Dead cockroaches in the stairwell. Beds were ok but on the soft side. Our room did not even have a proper closet - it came with a makeshift clothing rack. On the plus side, the location is convenient to Cambridge, the staff were very nice, and everything in the room worked. Nice amenities in the bathroom. Nevertheless, overall less than I would have expected for a Hilton branded hotel. Should have stayed at a Marriott.
We had a very good stay at the Freepoint Hotel Cambridge, especially for the front desk team! Kayla was just wonderful always smiling and even keeping for us our favorite candy! Raven, Angel, David, with Kayla were very friendly and professional! They all did a great job and we are thankful for that! The hotel is well located, not in downtown Cambridge, but its quite and with some shopping and a Whole Foods and a Traders Joe very close by. There is a hotel restaurant which we tried only for breakfast. We needed decaf coffee and they dont serve it, but there is a Starbucks inside the hotel and they do serve decaf, so that was our breakfast place every day, service is good and their employees were kind and professional. Housekeeping did also a good job, you need to place the Service green card to have service every day. Isabel was very nice and friendly. The Freepoint needs a little update on some of the areas, and on the bathroom floors, but everything looks very clean. Don’t forget to try their afternoon cookies, just baked and still warm, they were delicious! Will stay again at the Freepoint Hotel Cambridge for sure!
Had a great stay at the Freepoint Hotel in Cambridge! Easy walk to the Red Line, Starbucks attached to hotel and Dunkin across the street, plus a CVS, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods right there. Wanted to shout out a thank you to Tim, Lea, and Kayla! I left my nice coat in the lobby after dinner and the next morning they tirelessly worked to find it for me! It was cold and I needed it! Thank you for a great stay and for all of your help!!
Location was convenient.
Disappointing stay overall. The staff were consistently rude, unhelpful, and lacked basic customer service from check-in to checkout. Simple questions were met with dismissive responses, and there was no sense of hospitality at all. The hotel itself is decent and fairly clean, but the beds were uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s rest. While the property has potential, the overall experience fell well below what I expect from Hilton standards. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.
-The location was good -There was a nice walking path nearby
-The heater did not work and blew cold air only -The view was awful-1st floor parking lot outside -Our room was not cleaned despite asking three different staff members -My car was damaged in the parking lot during the night by someone that swiped into it
This was my first time staying at this hotel and will unfortunately be the last when I travel to the area. First of all the service was great, for the most part. The women at the front desk who worked both in the morning and evening were very nice and helpful. I had to check rooms due a cleanliness issue with the sheets and couch, however after bringing it to the attention of the front desk, they handle it quickly and provided me with a nice clean room to move into. Another lady who work the breakfast one morning was also fantastic and had great service and energy. However, upon check out, the man who worked the overnight shift was quite rude and unhelpful. I came to the desk to check out and review my final bill before leaving. When asked if I could receive a printed receipt, the man refused and said my bill is not final. I told him I would be checking out today and will not charge anything else to the room. The man became snarky and said we cannot print a receipt because we don’t know what could be charged to the room after checking out. I stated that it didn’t make sense since I am checking out now, and only once I told him the front desk workers yesterday were able to email me a receipt no problem, he finally decided to print one for me. Before handing me the receipt, he wrote multiple times all over the paper “Not Final”. I did have a few questions about the bill, but because of how snarky and unhelpful the man was, I decided to leave since we had a flight to catch and didn’t have time to deal with him. Other guests came to the front desk with similar requests and I saw him treat them with the same attitude as well. Overall, the stay and service from everyone else was great, all issues were handled quickly and efficiently, it just the poor customer service from that man left a bad taste in my mouth.
Stained couch, pillows and carpets. Dirty q-tip on floor in the bathroom and hair in the shower. Also $25 to park your car
Well mannered staff, Kyrone and Caesar were very hospitable when it came to accommodations. Definitely will be back.
Property was nice & updated, everything was nice & clean. Front desk staff was friendly & efficient
The $25 parking fee was not announced anywhere in the reservation, little steep for that location. House keeping showing up in the room before 10am was a little intrusive
The property was okay
Can’t really tell I was there one night but I can tell you that it was no what I expected
I liked the cleanliness and the friendly staff. Supplied us with everything we needed.
Paying extra for breakfast. The parking I understand though. Also the inability to hook up our Switch to the TV and the amount of restrictions on it in general.
It is ok.
Clean. The house keeping did not ask me anytime during a week.
Location
No blackout curtains
Once a year we go to Cambridge for the Capoeira MdP Batizado. The stay while we were here was amazing. It was all thanks to; Brianna, she helped me via Kipsu. Brianna and Princess greeted us at the front desk. Kyrone took personal care of us during the night. Finally, Kayla was amazing with greeting us and making sure we were okay before we left. We will return next year. Thank you, Amen Sterling
The hotel has friendly staff and a Starbucks is attached to the building. The room, and the hotel in general looks and feels tired. I won’t say don’t go there, I think it is a decent value for the money. However, adjust your expectations. It is not as nice, clean and comfortable as most Hilton Hotels. All I needed this trip was a comfortable bed and cup of coffee in the morning. I spent very little time in the hotel itself. I will note that the entire stay, almost a week, the housekeeping was minimal and my trashcan in the room was never emptied. To put things in perspective, I spent 5 days overnighting at the hotel, and since I used points, the bill was for less than what one night at the Charles Hotel costs, so it wasn’t a bad experience overall.
Hotel staff were professional and friendly. The hotel was clean and I really liked the art in the room.
You should make your $25 overnight parking charge more clear and be more helpful with alternative parking options.
They will charge you to park $25. a day which is ridiculous since their parking lot is just a regular parking lot. I suggest you park in the shopping center next door and walk over. What you pay for is just the room, which is nice.
Staff were friendly and the lobby area was really pretty
Food for breakfast was supposed to be served hot (omelette, pancakes, sausages) but it was all cold, and it was just freezer breakfast foods that had been supposedly warmed up, nothing prepared fresh. For the money, I feel like this definitely wasn’t worth it, and regretted opting in to the buffet (especially since I definitely didn’t go back for seconds!) instead of heading to the McDonald’s down the street. At least their freezer breakfast is served hot! I also asked two separate times through different channels for someone to repair or replace the very wobbly table in my room, and although I was there for three nights, it was never addressed. When my room was refreshed after the first night, I was also only given one large towel instead of two, and this was inconvenient as I also had my baby with me that needed a towel. Also the room service person failed to pick up some of the trash that was in my room, and when I checked in, there was a sticky substance on the bedside table near the lamp that I had to clean myself to use the table. There were also very few outlets near the bed, which was a problem for charging or using multiple electronics at once through the night, most of which were medically necessary. And the USB charger ports that were there were outdated, especially the ones on the iHome. Finally, before my stay, I requested a crib in the room for my infant. No crib was in my room when I checked in. All in all, I feel cheated spending $300/night for something that was hardly better than a Days Inn.
Staff was fantastic. Very kind and accommodating.
We had to move rooms for barking dogs. Neither room was fantasticlyclean. The shower was backed up and the tub was dirty.
No microwave in rooms No breakfast included in room rate Paying for daily parking that far out of the downtown core was also unreasonable
Distance from Harvard and downtown Boston.
Location near traffic circle, inattentive staff, and high cost for average room. The website stated they had a restaurant for breakfast and dinner, but the only thing they had was an expensive, small breakfast line set up in the morning at the bar. We asked about dinner and the staff told us to go eat at the restaurant next door instead.
I arrived at after dark and had to recheck the address to make sure I was in the right place. It did not look like a Hilton property. It was the right place. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. I was checked in quickly and provided keys to my room. A variety of suggestions for door dash or grub hub were provided since the kitchen was closed. I was a bit surprised with my room - definitely not an original Hilton property. Later found out it was a Best Western. Tired yet looked like they tried to update. Worn carpeting, marks on the wall, damage around AC unit in room, fixtures in the bathroom were worn, water pressure at a bit more than a trickle, ironing board but no iron. Bed was ok but the mattress really needed replacing - it definitely sagged on one side. In the morning the buffet breakfast was marginal at best. The woman staffing it, again very friendly, said she was focused on making improvements. Jam for toast, in large jars from the store, vs individual serving size, partially empty and looking messy - can't image that passes a health inspection. There is a Starbucks attached to the hotel which is is fabulous for coffee or a quick snack. The lobby area is super cool and great for working or meeting with others. It looks to be an addition to the original hotel and has an industrial vibe to it. There is a bar with a very friendly bartender. Overall, not up to Hilton standards from a property perspective; very tired hotel that needs overall updating. However, exceptionally well trained staff who do everything possible to make your stay a great one.
Good location
No complaints about the property, the location was convenient.
Convenient location to redline (500 meters)?
This hotel does not look like the photos online. It is in a loud neighborhood on a major road surrounded by strip malls. No visible green space near it. Only restaurants within close walking distance are fast food. The restaurant inside is not really open, and the breakfast looked inedible besides coffee, cereal and apples. Three police officers were dealing with an altercation in lobby when I left. One good thing - the bed was firm and comfortable!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE BREAKFAST !! TERRIBLE. The bed was comfy, bathroon fixtures new and modern, toiletries good quality. Liked the table in the room. VERY ANNOYING that they left 2 bottles of water in the room for $3. each REALLY?? NO DECAF COFFEE - at all even for breakfast! FOOD was COLD terrible quality and no cutlery or real plates for $17.95 very sad!
Reception for a retirement party was fabulous. Room acoustics were pretty good. Food was great and beautifully served. Wonderful variety.
The staff were amazing and friendly. The room would not stay cool though. Air turned off then the room would get really warm which made it uncomfortable.
Very nice place.
Toilet wouldn’t flush and took all day to fix. Keurig in room didn’t hear water enough for warm coffee. Was told breakfast included and was then charged $40. For us to eat.
The bath tub/shower was unsafe. The surface of the tub was slippery and there were no grab bars. These features should be present for people of all ages, not just elderly. I did not use the tub/shower due to these omissions. Otherwise, the room was fine.
That it's across the street from a natural Pond that you can walk and explore and whole foods walking distance
The beds are uncomfortable you have to drive out of the way to get where you need to go . The breakfast that I paid extra for two was so bland and underwhelming not real bacon breads are all dry the juice isn't fresh it's instant the fruit was lacking and the hot breakfast all of it was cold . The pool table was moved to a room where it's now on a slant and the velte is so dirty and torn up not even playable
Great staff
We stayed here for the MCR show at Fenway Park and it was a great choice! The staff were all very friendly, the beds were clean and comfy, and the room was more than enough for me and my sister. The Starbucks in the lobby was a great plus. Crislani was especially helpful when we checked in. She was very friendly, personable, and made us feel very taken care of. I would absolutely stay here again if I ever need a hotel in the Boston area in the future.
It was clean
Had an great experience at this hotel. Affordable, clean, and the front desk staff is beyond amazing especially Chrislani! Would definitely come back if in the area!
Easy and smooth check in with Kyrone. Great customer service and knowledge of the area. I arrived early in the am and was able to check in for a small fee. Thanks!
I want to recognize some members of the Freepoint staff for doing an exceptional job. My wife and I were celebrating our 35-wedding anniversary and spent the night in Cambridge. In the reservation notes, I asked the hotel staff to do whatever they could to surprise my wife for our anniversary. We were greeted by Crislani and Meley, who were welcoming and charming young ladies. They had arranged a surprise in our room. My wife was surprised to see the nice room, gift basket, and kissing swans (made from towels, very creative). Crislani and Meley went over the top to surprise my wife and I really appreciate it! Later that evening, we also spent some fun times with Vinnie our bartender. He made sure we had a delightful time! These three staff members are a good example of what makes an experience exceptional!
Rien
Équipement ancien Saleté Stationnement très serré et cher
Very convenient that food and roads, as well as train. Hotel is nice, beds are ok, tv has Netflix, we stayed here a week and it was convenient to everything we did, was easy to get uber, there’s a Starbucks attached to the hotel, great for a commuter or visiting your kid at college. Will probably stay here again 👍
The hotel was very clean and modern, but the real treat was the staff. Everyone was extremely professional and went the extra mile for us. Emani at the front desk was immensely helpful and made our stay a delight. She had a solution for every problem we had and did everything with a smile. 10/10 would recommend this location and will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit.
Fair hotel, staff were busy
Location, cleanliness and spacious room
The air conditioner/heater unit in the room was too noisy and disturbed my sleep. Also the price per night was a little on the high side.
Propre, confortable, proximité du lac
Accueil pas agréable, cher et quand même loin de Boston
The rooms had no body wash. The mattress was the worst I have ever slept on. The air conditioner made so much noise I could t sleep. The breakfast was inedible. Overcooked eggs. They ran out of healthy yogurt and no bananas.
Safe place
We had a lovely time at this hotel. All of the staff were so friendly and above and beyond helpful during the day and night. Specifically, Kyrone was so helpful and great!
The room was smelling cigarette
We loved the lounge and dining area with a cool relaxed pool table for a teen and family to hangout at or young adults to stay.
The room was immaculate, spacious, and comfortable. All the amenities you'd like except a microwave.
No microwave.
The toilet was very low and the water in the tub kept rising. One of the nightstands had holes in it
