Breakfast wasn't delicious served in a spacious dining area. Would definitely recommend and return. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

It took extremely long to get them to take our bags back to the car park.

Le petit déjeuner est correct mais absolument rien de fabuleux. Le parking est a l’extérieur des remparts. Vous rejoignez l’hôtel à pieds pendant qu’un bagagiste transfère vos bagages en voiture. Malheureusement lors du départ avons attendu 40mn dans notre voiture que les bagages arrivent ce qui est très désagréable

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026This is an old hotel in a spectacular location. The rooms reflect the character of the hotel. The staff were pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The hotel provides a secure space to lock bikes which was important for us.
The hotel charges top prices based on its excellent location as such it isn't the best value for money but still affordable for a short stay.

Die Klimaanlage ging zwar nicht, aber dafür gab es jeden Abend Getränke aufs Haus und natürlich einen Ventilator. Kein Problem für uns.

There was still waste in the bin from the previous guest. The cold water pressure was appalling the shower head just dripped on top of the bath taps. To get any pressure you had to turn the hot up and it was scalding. You had to shower with one hand and the other holding the shower head. No milk was provided with the tea or coffee. The bath/shower towels were very small. The shower screen door did not fit and leaked all over the floor. Breakfast was poor and the staff at breakfast unwelcoming.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026The location is within the city walls. Only a few hotels are allowed within the city walls so this is a perfect spot to visit the city. The building is an ancient building, the lounge area is well furnished. Breakfast is ok - staff need to improve in handling food.
The hotel has a separate building called annex. The rooms in the annex as well as the common areas need to be refurbished, and so carpets and wall paintings. Our room was not clean and unsatisfactory. To the hotel credit, upon our complaint, they first offered another room (the triple in the same building) but had the same issues, and since the hotel was fully booked they kindly offered a partial refund of the fee which we accepted. I would recommend customers to ask for a room in the main building until the annex is refurbished. We thank the hotel for accepting our remarks.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2026Le Donjon's location in the Cite Medievale was superb, it allowed us to enjoy an after-dinner meander through the Castle's streets after the crowds had departed. Staff were lovely, the room had everything one would want bar a vista, but when lodging in the castle walls, one shouldn't be surprised. We dined on the terrace of the hotel's Christine restaurant, which was lovely. Our food was excellent, our serving staff were attentive and friendly, the ambiance delightful. Bottom line - would/will we stay again - Yes.
As mentioned, no view from the room, but a negligible negative.

Da die Stadt autofrei ist, konnten wir unser Fahrzeug auf einem Hotelparkplatz unweit der Stadtmauern abstellen. Das Gepäck wurde von dort aus zum Hotelzimmer befördert. Leider wir nicht, obwohl mein Mann gehbehindert ist zur Zeit und der Aufstieg für ihn beschwerlich war. Beim Auschecken erfuhren wir dann, dass ein Transport auch für Personen ohne weiteres möglich wäre.

Deberian explicar mejor el acceso al hotel que está en una zona peatonal. Aunque hay un transfer desde el parking que está fuera de la muralla y no muy bien indicado. Google y Waze no te guían al mismo.

Petit déjeuner à améliorer (pas de jus de fruit frais et choix limité) et la salle est très austère. Dommage que nous n’ayons pas pu profiter du jardin.

Devoir mendier dans un 4* pour avoir une bouteille d’eau filtrée en devant ramener le contenant vide, voire de préférence se passer devant boire de l’eau par 36 degrés Devoir se justifier pour qu’on vienne chercher deux sacs dans la chambre alors que le service de voiturier est heureusement au top Et aucune convivialité ni professionnalisme

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Lo mejor del hotel es su ubicación, dentro de la ciudadela amurallada. La cama es muy buena, pero las habitaciones no están bien insonorizadas y se eschucha la televisión de otras habitaciones.
Llegamos en coche, y aunque el hotel tiene un servicio que traslada el equipaje desde el aparcamiento, que está fuera de las murallas, no nos informaron correctamente sobre el horario de este servicio. Nos indicaron un horario en el momento de reservarlo, y cuando estábamos prácticamente llegando nos mandaron un correo indicando que el servicio finalizaba antes, por lo que cuando llegamos no había nadie. Nos hubiera gustado que nos informaran bien cuando hicimos la reserva.

Rooms tired and in need of renovation. Bar was not open during our stay (2nights). Breakfast buffet room needs a revamp.

La chambre sentait fort le renfermé, les bouches de Clim au dessus des fenêtres étaient pleine de poussière. Ça faisait vieillot et à peine propre. Nous avions déjà séjourné a l’hôtel et n’avions pas du tout eu cette expérience.

Notre chambre était très vieillissante ; pas d’attention ni d’équipement dans les chambres ( même pas une bouteille d’eau ….) petit déjeuner ok mais il faut même mettre la table soi même

Vell i falta de manteniment. El fons del WC ennegrit, els bastiments de les portes pelats, els racons del terra bruts, les juntes de la banyera negres i els sanitaris groguejaven. La moqueta vella i els entapissats de butaques i seient auxil·liar tacats i descolorits per l'ús. Costa d'entendre que aquell espai correspongués a una habitació "double supérieure". L'únic "supérieur" era el preu. Necessita un "rafraîchissement" urgent i pel que fa a les vistes prometedores... aneu en compte: l'habitació tenia una finestreta petita amb vistes al castell, però també, just al davant, a un restaurant abandonat amb un sostre de canyissos i uralita que desmereix totalment aquell entorn.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026L’emplacement est idéal pour découvrir la citadelle. Notre chambre sur jardin était très agréable. Les salons offrent une ambiance chaleureuse et cosy. Le petit déjeuner en buffet est bon et agréable à prendre dans le jardin. Le service de bagagerie depuis le parking est très appréciable.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026The staff were really helpful, if a trifle eccentric. Good at multi tasking. Also, at breakfast, I asked if the had a pain raison. The charming waitress said sorry, no they didn't. Five minutes later she presented me with one, having gone out specially to buy it! That's service!

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026L’emplacement est top ! Le personnel hyper sympathique. Nous sommes arrivés en avance et ils se sont arrangés pour nous réparer la chambre avant 16h . Très gentil après 9h de route Et surtout ne pas hésiter a diner au restaurant partenaire chez Christine juste en dessous.
Les chambres sont propres et sympa mais la salle de bain mérite un rafraîchissement !
