Loved the hospitality from staff and overall a clean hotel

It was my first time staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Carlsbad, but I will definitely be back. I stay in a lot of Marriott hotels for work and am a Gold elite member. I was really impressed by this hotel. When I arrived, the lobby was nice and cool, which was so nice because it was in the 90s outside. Ady checked me in, and she was very sweet and wanted to make sure my accommodations were as I like. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and had a contagious smile. Once I got to my room, I noticed the room layout was a little different to maximize space which I enjoyed. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds. I have slept on in a long time at a hotel. The room was clean, quiet, smelled fresh and had great water pressure in the shower. All the things you want a home away from home to have! I didn’t get a chance to check out the pool, but could see it was nice and clean from my room! It fit within my budget as well, so that’s always a plus! I will definitely be booking this room again when I have work in the area.

I stayed here with family and my kids and I loved the area, it was close to Legoland. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a smile every time we entered the lobby or left the hotel. Will defi go back next year.

I have visited this place a few times now and I love the staff. From the manager Donna to Danny, Tomas, and the morning crew when I go to dine there, everyone is so nice and welcoming.

Appreciated the clean, tidy and spacious room with a convenient small fridge. The bathroom was spacious and housekeeping promptly provided extra clean towels when needed. Staff were super courteous and attentive. Every time we were near the lobby we were always greeted. And, the barista Allen, was super awesome and friendly. Thank you Allan for making our specialty coffees deliciously perfect! You all made our family trip to Lego land, to celebrate our 4 year old grandson's birthday, extra special. Glad we stood here!

I stayed at this hotel on a business trip and had a great experience. The hotel was clean, rooms were comfy and the staff was really helpful. I had a lot of questions since it was my first time in the area and Donna was wonderful at making me comfortable and gave me good recs for the area and was overall so great and helpful. I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Carlsbad from June 15 to June 20, 2026. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, details several service failures: * **Inconsistent Housekeeping:** Despite requesting daily service, the room was cleaned only once during the five-night stay, even though i provided significant time windows for staff to access the room. * **Poor Management and Staff Focus:** Staff appeared distracted by internal system transitions, and management meetings held in the restaurant area failed to resolve the ongoing cleaning issues. * **Billing Communication:** I was not automatically emailed an invoice and had to call the hotel directly after checkout to obtain it. I wrote a complaint regarding my stay via the Marriott portal and was informed on July 14, 2026, that my inquiry had been forwarded to the hotel, I have yet to receive a response. This continued lack of communication, combined with the poor service I experienced, is disappointing and falls short of the standards I expect.

bout it. Upon check out at the advice of Adrian we had the unfortunate displeasure of having to interact with Delia, we just wanted to confirm the changes he made took effect. Upon check out she changed the rates of one room to over a $200 increase and she had no interest in customer service or assisting with resolving any issues. She was for some reason more interested in the titles of Adrian and Joseph. Repeatedly stating that Joseph is a new hire and Adrian is the night auditor. She was extremely condescending, a verbatim example is. When I asked her if she was the manager (since she repeatedly kept bringing up job titles which was not the issue) she stated "Unfortunately, I am not the manager." As if she was somehow shafted from a promotion somewhere along the line and we were the reason why she was somehow done a disservice at her job. Ultimately, we decided to leave because we were getting no where with Delia and would call to speak to Donna and email her later when we get home to not ruin the rest of our vacation. I do truly hope that Donna reviews any and all camera footage to be able to better train Delia in a customer service. And truly hope that no one else has to deal with her condescending tone and attitude in any interaction. As we went to leave without the issue being resolved she asked for my name and if I was an associate of Marriott hotels. The entire interaction she didn’t even verify my identity. My entire interaction with Delia is the only reason for such a low score. Her customer service and increasing the rate of our stay at CHECK OUT I am sure is illegal.

I booked this hotel many weeks in advance.I have received many confirmation notices. I also paid an additional amount for insurance in case my trip changed dates. I also paid a $300 deposit. When I arrived around 4 pm (the time listed for check in) they said they were booked solid and my reservation was cancelled. I had to find another place across town at a much higher rate. Not happy. Please confirm all of my refunds.

I usually don't write reviews but I felt this time I need to let others know how great my stay was. The service was so friendly, every time we went in an out we were greeted by everyone, my kid loves waving at people and they were waving at him every time they saw us, put a smile on my kid's face and ours. We felt welcome and appreciated.

Very nice and excluded couldn’t keep my son out of the pool very close to Lego land and the beach. Miguel’s down the road was some good Mexican food too . We loved it. Heated seating outside the pool area with tvs and fire place.

I stayed at this hotel for over 30 days on a business trip, and everyone was very nice. The hotel is clean and quiet, just what I needed after a long day of work—special shout-out to the front desk, Lavenia, who was pleasant and helpful.

My stay was absolutely fantastic! The accommodations were top-notch—spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Plus, the hotel’s location near the main attractions was perfect, just what I was looking for. The highlight was definitely the exceptional customer service from the manager, Liridona (hope I got the spelling right). She was incredible, making me feel truly welcome and going above and beyond to answer all my questions. Her attention to detail made me feel cared for at every step. I can't wait to return and will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends, especially because of the outstanding service from Liridona!

We have been to this courtyard Marriott in Carlsbad several times because it was recently renovated , perfect location and the most important thing to us in a hotel is the comfort ability of the bed. Beds were very comfortable, hotel is very clean and staff very friendly and engaged. This last trip was extra special. . We had to book last minute and I could only get a higher price than we typically pay as the hotel was almost sold out. . Prior to our arrival, I found a cheaper price in one of the travel websites. I called the Marriott main customer service to find out about their “best price guarantee program” and got minimal assistance . The representative told us to fill out a form online. That was the best he could do. Once we arrived at the hotel, Daisy at the front desk , checked us in and we mentioned that we saw a lower price online but couldn’t quite get assistance from the main customer service desk. Daisy didn’t hesitate to start investigating for us and when she realized she couldn’t help us she included her manager Lavinia who immediately came over and assessed the issue and proceeded to investigate the “best price guarantee” policy. They were both very helpful and took initiative to go the extra mile which in today’s world of customer service is non- existent. Although the hotel was fully booked she was able to provide us with a senior discount which was unavailable at the time I made the reservation. My husband is a gold member and we have rarely received the attention to iur requests that Daisy and Lavinia provided us. After we checked in Lavinia handed us a thank you bag which included a snack and two bottles of water. What a difference a nice gesture can make. I will definitely frequent this hotel as these two staff members made us feel special. Marriott is lucky to have them but I also commend Marriott for having customer service programs that actually benefit the customer and hiring staff who care…

I visited the hotel for work and came down for coffee after hours. The two people standing there were so polite they made me a coffee when the restaurant was closed. it meant a lot to me as I was rushing for an important meeting. I will definitely come back for work or leisure in San Diego.

Easy to get to places, quiet, clean staff friendly

When we arrived our room key didn’t work, I had to go back to front desk to activate the keys. Them the elevators were not working keeps beeping and not opening doors, it happened twice in one night stay, we had to take the stairs at the end of the hallway. The next day in the morning while checking out the same issue with the elevator but this time not able to take stairs with our bags and laugage

The rooms smelled like an old mop was used to clean the room. The front desk didn’t seem to care. They informed me that the hotel was booked and they couldn’t move me.

It was very simple and clean. We needed a quiet hotel to just sleep at night, since my daughter was swimming in a swim meet.

The location was ok but I didn’t necessarily want to be near an airport. Refrigerator in our room could have been colder.

Great Location! The location is perfect if you are going to LEGOLAND. Rooms were clean and well-maintained. The receptionist, Zak is amazing with his recommendations. I'm surprised that despite its close proximity to the airport, it was not noisy at all. Parking was abundant, but they do charge like every other hotel nowadays. The resto was okay, it was pricey but accessible and easy. The staff were really friendly. This will be my Legoland got to hotel now.

The location as it was next to Lego Land. There was places to eat near. Target was just right up the road.

We were happily greeted at the front desk by Abdias. We were able to get early check in which allowed us to take advantage of the grounds. The room was spotless with new carpeting, new furniture, and a very comfortable bed. The black out drapes made the room so dark we could not tell whether it was night or day- it was great. HVAC was very quiet and very efficient. Nice selection of channels on big screen LG Tv including Netflix and Amazon Prime. We stayed at this property after completing our business in downtown San Diego to save us about 30 minutes of travel time back to Los Angeles. Property has a nice vacation feel and is within 2 miles of great restaurants and outlet malls. Would not hesitate to stay here again

My stay started off a bit rocky. During check-in, there was some confusion with the front desk associate. It definitely wasn’t the smoothest first impression. Thankfully, the experience completely turned around the following day. A manager named Miguel was at the front desk and took the time to genuinely listen to my situation. He was kind, professional, and reassuring. He also let me know that Zach had already taken care of adjusting my stay appropriately. Miguel didn’t hesitate to help finalize everything and made sure my folio was correct. His attitude and willingness to assist made a huge difference and restored my confidence in the hotel’s service. Thank you to Miguel and Zach for the accommodations!

We were a large group of athletes and parents, and stayed at the hotel for 5 days. Our stay was nothing short of perfect, all the details were ironed out with the manager early and she made everything flow so smoothly. The price we got was also fantastic and worked well within our school budget, and made it easy for our families to also join. Great value for the money. The rooms were great, all the staff were amazing and with that large of a group, something is always bound to go wrong but honestly, nothing did. We arrived happy and left happy. Thank you for making our stay amazing and easy. We’re worried but Magen and her team made everything easy. The cleanliness, services and amenities were all wonderful. If we have to be down here again, we will definitely come back and would recommend the hotel to others. Last but not least, the atmosphere was wonderful, still decorated for the holidays so made it feel warm and cozy, we had plenty of space to gather as a team for meetings to watch game film, or for parents to relax and enjoy the heat from the fire place and fire pit. This hotel was very accommodating for our needs. We had a big group for our team and the staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Fire pit was great for evening gatherings for drinks.

Our basketball team needed to find a hotel to accommodate all of us and our traveling needs. The hotel manager was responsive via phone with our reservations and we worked on a banquet dinner as well.

I stayed at the Courtyard in Carlsbad and was really happy with my choice. The place felt safe and comfortable, and my room was clean and easy to relax in. The staff was friendly and their manager, Abdias, was super attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. The location was convenient and overall, it was a great stay. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

I stayed one night while in the area on business. This was my second time staying at this location. Everyone was very friendly. The room was a bit dark and a bit dirty this time. I appreciated that the air conditioning fan would run all night to help with any outside noise as well as helping to keep the room cool. I’ll be back

The manager front desk supervisor was late to work, and I had talked with the night auditor and also talked with the front desk personnel in the morning, but they couldn’t answer my question because I need to speak to the supervisor for authorization when I came in later in the day he rejected me needing to check out a day early

I traveled from the Midwest to Carlsbad. It was a long travel day and I went down to the lounge for food and a drink. Mariana had a huge smile and asked me what I would like to drink and then she recommended a new drink and it was the best. She was always smiling and I could tell she loves what she does. With everything going on in this world we need more Mariana’s. 💯 I will be coming back to this hotel. Also the front desk people and managers are amazing. Super friendly. Room was really clean and a relaxing atmosphere

My room was very basic and loud. I could hear every step of the people above me, every voice from the people next to me.

It was okay. Room was a good size. Location was okay for a wedding I was working over the weekend.

Room smelled like old dirty socks. We asked to change rooms, none available. Maintenance came by and changed out a very dirty black filter. Changing the filter did not help the smell much.

Came here for a short trip to attend a wedding and the courtyard did not disappoint. The rooms were uodated and quite modern, and everything was very clean. Amenities were great too, and the heated outdoor pool was a nice touch. My only complaint is that the pillows were pretty uncomfortable and by the end of the night, would get really flat. What really stood out for me during our stay was the outstanding customer service upon our check in by Delia. She explained all the amenities the hotel had to offer very thoroughly, and she was very welcoming and personable. She saw my daughter was with me and even gave her a little treat. To top it all off, she followed up with us to make sure everything in our room was up to par (which it was), and if we needed anything else. 4 stars for the hotel but definitely 5 stars for Delia alone.

I've been coming to this Courtyard for quite some time now. I've watched it change from such a small little Lobby too and beautiful seating area and a restaurant. DELIA assisted me last night and was the best. It's not every day you get a phone call from the lobby where they are asking if I need anything and is my visit okay. The service continued when I needed ice cream LOL she showed me everything that she had and I knew there was ice cream cuz I called prior to our stay and the gentleman that answered assured me I wouldn't be disappointed with their selection. I was able to meet Megan at the front desk and she gave me one of a kind service and gave my nephew a peek into their Treasure Chest where he got a glow ball that has not left his hands. We travel a lot and service is very important to me I will continue to come here and I will be talking about this Courtyard all the time when I have friends and family here visiting or in the area. Hot or warm water in the sink would have been nice, but all we could get was a trickle of cool water. The place was half furnished. AND the elevator was not working. Only a sorry sign with no info about getting to the first floor.

I stayed at Marriott Carlsbad for just one night. The reception staff were accommodating and check-in was smooth. The room was spacious and comfortable — no complaints there. One minor downside was the gym. It felt a bit stuffy, and I couldn’t find a way to open it up for fresh air. A big plus for long-term travelers like myself (2.5 weeks on the road) was the self-service laundry. The machines were easy to use via app payment, and a full wash-and-dry cycle cost around $6.50 — super practical and appreciated. Overall, a convenient and comfortable stop.
