Right in the heart of Portland.
Great location, very clean, helpful staff
No parking for our van, valet parking was too expensive.
Fantastic location and staff. Very central location with access to pearl district and waterfront. Close to shopping and food. Staff was very helpful and kind
Jeremiah from the front desk was super helpful from check in to check out! My boy hooked it up with the perfect haircut spot too (s/o Throne Kings). The location was prime for Portland, we’re literally in the center of everything (centric). The vibes were immaculate as the music was always going and the staff provided a great atmosphere for interaction and visuals. Rooms were nice and tidy - very cool concepts. Value is insane due to the location and amenities. Gym is greaaat. Would stay again.
The hotel is modern, clean, and conveniently located within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and parks. The hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, and valet service was quick. The elevators were quite slow, though manageable. My room had a nice couch but no desk — if you need a workspace, I recommend confirming desk availability when booking. The hotel is pet-friendly, but the surrounding area does not feel safe for walking a dog alone at night, especially for women. I had to drive elsewhere to walk my dog after dark, which was inconvenient.
We stayed at this hotel from August 14 to August 16, booking two rooms for two nights for our family. Unfortunately, the service during our stay was extremely disappointing, especially the housekeeping and guest service. One of our rooms did not even have tissues when we first checked in. More seriously, the other room was never properly cleaned during our entire stay despite multiple requests. On the morning of August 15, everyone left the room as usual. When we returned around 2:00 PM, we found that the room had not been serviced. We waited until after 4:00 PM, but housekeeping still had not come. We tried calling Guest Services, but no one answered the phone, so we had to go downstairs to the front desk in person and specifically request that the room be cleaned. We then left the hotel again, giving them several more hours to take care of it. When we returned around 8:00 PM, the room was still exactly as we had left it. NO housekeeping at all. Once again, our calls to Guest Services went unanswered. We went downstairs to the front desk for a second time and were told that someone would be sent up right away. We waited another 20 minutes, but still no one came. At that point, we had to go to the front desk for a THIRD time that day just to get basic room service. Eventually, someone came to the room, but it was a maintenance employee rather than housekeeping. He was only able to replace the towels and empty the trash. The room itself was never actually cleaned.
the restaurant for breakfast was bad and the waitress was rude .
When we booked up , they never mention, that there was not parking available
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel. My car was broken into while it was parked in the hotel’s valet garage, which is especially concerning given that I had entrusted the vehicle to the hotel’s valet service. At the time of the incident, I was told by the valet company, while I was in front of the hotel, that the damage would be taken care of. Based on that representation, I expected the situation to be handled appropriately. However, I was later told that the valet company takes no responsibility for vehicles, which completely contradicted what I had initially been told. The lack of accountability and the conflicting information were extremely frustrating. If guests are required to hand over their vehicles to a valet service and park in a hotel-controlled garage, they should be able to reasonably expect their property to be treated with care and any incidents to be handled professionally. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that neither the hotel nor its valet company was willing to take responsibility when something went wrong. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering staying here carefully consider how vehicle-related incidents are handled before using the valet service.
The staff is pleasant and available. The area was clean , in house breakfast was good.
I got charged $50 for early check in while they made references that we paid through booking.com so we didn’t qualify but they would make an exception. Got put in a room directly in front of the elevators on the 3rd floor. Uncomfortable and loud. The rooms have zero insulation , all concrete , can hear everything. Bed sheets were uncomfortable as well.
Beds and shower
Poor lighting, no outlets, no bag service
Great location!
The bathroom situation isn’t great because the sink is outside of the bathroom. Also in the bathroom everything echoes so you can hear everything the other person does when they are doing their business. The other issue is there were only enough towels for 1 person. When we told the front desk they said they would bring towels right up to the room but no one ever came. There was also only 1 robe. Staff were friendly but no one followed up
Location
We left about 20 minutes after arrival due to: 1. Sliding Door to shower does not fully close. 2. Room looks like a prison, all concrete. 3. Overall ambiance felt like Motel 6
Used this hotel for out of town guests to our wedding. Rooms are good but the hotel hosted some sort of event until 1:30. Also the hotel valet does not park the cars in a secure area and guests had they car windows smashed.
The location was nice and the street cars run right next to the hotel which is nice for exploring the area. The street cars were loud but didn't really impact my sleep since I sleep with thunderstorm sounds on. I woke up around 1am to club music playing. I am not certain where it was coming from, but perhaps their is a club nearby. Luckily it didn't wake my 3 year old. They place earplugs in the room without request. Staff did not provide water for Explorist level Hyatt members. The room was clean and everything worked appropriately, but the shower made some loud odd noises. I went to get a latte in the morning, but there was no staff present to make it. Overall, my stay was okay, but my expectations were higher for a Hyatt Centric. Next time I would probably stay at the Hyatt Regency or try out the Hyatt House instead. Our family has enjoyed our stay at a few Hyatt Places more than our stay at this Hyatt Centric. Overall, I could see this location being better for couples or singles instead of families.
The staff at Hyatt Centric were incredible from our first point of contact until through the wedding for which we hosted a room block here at Hyatt. I was able to have multiple meetings and tours of the hotel and conference rooms, had help planning a welcome event for the wedding at the hotel, and support throughout and after my stay. The biggest save was when we'd forgotten our wedding sign in our room before checking out. One of the receptionists check multiple places on the property and eventually found it. That saved us much grief and brought back a wedding memento we thought we'd never see again.
Location
Cement floors in the room. Very cold to walk on. They looked very dirty.
We enjoyed this hotel. We found it to be very centrally located. Staff are welcoming, friendly and give you all the info about the amenities. This hotel was very clean and easy to navigate. Parking at the front for valet can be a bit busy. Valet was friendly and helpful. Would return to this hotel if visiting Portland again.
The hotel and front desk staff are amazing and the location is fantastic for walking downtown Portland. The hotel was clean, quiet, and in good shape. However, our sink drained slowly and, despite reporting this to the front desk, was never addressed. Additionally, our room was only cleaned once during our five night stay, despite three requests to the front desk for cleaning. We even had to call the front desk twice to get fresh towels.
Portland is one of my most frequented cities, and I've stayed in everything from a shared space Airbnb up to a boutique hotel. This doesn't qualify as a boutique hotel, but it's as pleasant and welcoming as one, complete with a bar and cafe in the lobby. (Loved the plush chickens in the lobby too!) Central location is a big benefit near both the streetcar and light-rail. The concrete floors threw me off at first, but along with the thick windows, they prevented all noise. Combined with the comfortable bed, I slept very well!
Hotel is in a great location...no car required unless you leave the city limits. Staff is excellent, particularly Annie Meyers. Stop by the bar for one of her signature cocktails.
This was the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The friendly, low-key, and helpful attitudes of all workers were unlike anywhere I have ever experienced before. The rooms are modern and artfully decorated with carefully placed fixtures abound which made for a very clean and enjoyable environment. Thank you to all the staff, maintenance, and housekeeping. I want all future hotel experiences to be like the Hyatt Centric.
Beautiful hotel, super friendly staff, room had everything we needed, centrally located and great breakfast. We loved it and will be back!
This location downtown Portland is perfect! The staff was wonderful, as always. Annie in the bar is always nice to see her smiling face. Will definitely be back and stay at the Hyatt Centric in Portland. Love the felt chickens in the lobby.
Location, staffing, housing and breakfast was all great. Valet service was quick and reasonably priced. Will definitely be staying there again.
I did have a booking error, where I was charged twice. However I don't blame them, I explained what had happened. They gave me a good reason as to why it happened. Unfortunate but acceptable. They refunded my money in the following days. Great service.
I stayed at the Hyatt Centric downtown and liked it overall, with one or two small gripes. The location is a selling point. You're right in the middle of downtown, about a three-minute walk to Powell's City of Books, with good coffee shops and plenty to eat within a couple of blocks, so we barely touched the car once we arrived. The rooms are genuinely cute, nicely furnished and with a bit of character, though they run a little dark if you like a bright space. Valet was easy and had in and out privileges, but it's the only option here, so if you were hoping to self-park and save a few bucks, that's not on the table. The one design choice I couldn't get behind was the bathroom. There's no real door, just a barn-door slider that opens the room right up to the rest of the space, and a curtain to separate the shower from the room. It photographs cute I suppose? None of that is a dealbreaker though. For the location alone I'd stay again, just come knowing the bathroom is more open-concept than you might expect.
Stayed at Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland. My wife and I were attending a wedding for 3 days. When arrived it was extremely loud due to a rambunctious group who had charted the restaurant area for a group activity that went on through Thursday and Friday. We had a corner room on the 10th floor at a good price point. As we were leaving the hotel the day of the wedding the elevators malfunctioned. This left 1 of the 3 elevators operating in a limited manner, were the elevator stopped at every floor on the way down, whether someone was waiting there or not. That made us late for the wedding. Overall, if not for the above mentioned, the hotel would have been satisfactory for our needs for this particular occasion. However, if we visit the location again in the future, we would pay a little more and would choose a different hotel nearby.
perfekte Lage, sehr nettes Personal an der Rezeption und in der Bar,
Personal beim Frühstück überfordert, mangelnde Sauberkeit in Bad und bei den Frühstückstischen;
What really stood out was the exceptional level of hospitality and attention to detail throughout our stay. Every team member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to providing outstanding service. The hotel was impeccably clean, our room was quiet and incredibly comfortable, and the modern design created a relaxing atmosphere. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the central location made it easy to explore Portland on foot. It's clear that the staff takes great pride in creating an exceptional guest experience, and it shows in every interaction. This is the kind of hotel that earns loyal, repeat guests, and we can't wait to return.
Great location and clean rooms. Easy to walk through, and great value, customer service is amazing!! I would definitely book again.
The check in associate was great. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. The breakfast was delicious. The location is very convenient.
location is great!
The hotel is well placed and the rooms are unique and nice! However, the main reason I am giving this hotel 5 stars is because of Jake B at the front desk. I watched him check-in a line of guests with a great deal of care and thoroughness, going the extra mile for each one. We arrived at 5:15pm and found out our room had an issue and wasn’t ready, however Jake quickly provided a solution and got things adjusted to get us in a room. It is not often you find employees with such genuine care, enthusiasm, and moral for the place they work for. I am hoping for and expecting great things from Jake in the future. Hyatt you are lucky to have him!
This is a fabulous, renovated hotel, in the very fun pearl district. Our room was recently renovated and very comfortable. We will definitely return.
Location is perfect for wanting to do things downtown. Was only 30 min walk to Moda center. Great breakfast. Had valet right at front.
Location is getting better, doing the best they can do...looking forward to improved situations. The best part of the stay is the restaurant/bar in the lobby. The worst part is everyone on drugs/homeless outside and wondering in that is beyond the hotels control. The kids in valet were also great outside based on traffic issues to help and some great new restaurants walking just a few blocks in all directions!
The price. The location. The restaurant.
I have nothing bad to say. There are two charges on my credit card that are expected to fall off but nothing other than that.
Top Hôtel, sehr komfortabel mit tollem Personal am Empfang und besonders der Barkeeper war ein absoluter Profi.
Frühstück war leider mittelmäßig, Bedienung bemüht, Qualität des Frühstücks mittelmäßig
Location is excellent. Hotel is modern and nice. Really enjoyed this - it was my 2nd time to stay there. The staff was all quite warm and friendly.
I’ve stayed here several times, you cannot beat the location. It is walking distance to so many great coffee shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Kind and attentive staff from the valet to the front desk, the room was immaculately clean as well. I booked/checked in after 10pm during my most recent Portland trip because the Airbnb I originally booked was sketchy and I decided to leave. I instantly felt more comfortable in the hotel and am basically over Airbnb at this point. One of the better value hotels in a great pocket of downtown Portland, highly recommended!
Comfortable bed and pillows, they gave a lot of towels, and the shower pressure was good.
The design of the room looks unconstructed especially with the flooring and ceiling. I felt uncomfortable walking without shoe with the flooring looking dirty (weird marks everywhere on the floor), and no slippers were provided, we bought our own. There was specs of white paint, and red paint (reminds me of blood) which makes me feel uncomfortable. I understand if it’s part of the design but it’s definitely not for me.
Attentive Front Desk, clean and well-decorated room, hot shower and great location
The card reader in the elevator had issues reading cards, and the room did not have a kettle to boil some water.
Excellent CS from the front desk!
Incomplete food orders at the restaurant
They need to splurge for fitted bottom sheets. There beds are REALLY messy. Not tight and crisp and comforting at all.
It was close to so much, very clean, and great staff!
Only thing missing was a hot tub.
The customer service at Hyatt Centric Portland is second to none. They are hospitable, kind, welcoming, and always happy to assist.
Best downtown location for restaurants and easy freeway access. Love WOH and Annie in the bar along with Zach are the best. Love Jeffrey working overnight too.
The staffs are so nice and friendly and with smiles ,rooms are always clean and comfortable, quiet good places to stay ~😊
I rented 2 rooms for 2 nights as my family and I were visiting Portland before heading back to the east coast. The front desk and restaurant staff were all wonderful...they should all be working for a Marriott hotel however. The first morning after a shower I noticed tons of hair that came from the corner on the bathroom floor. As I looked further it was clear these areas are not clean. The bathrooms should have extra focus when housekeeping cleans. These were clearly not. Also I noticed hair around the feet of one of the wardrobes. I did report it after we checked out and provided the attached photos. If it were my hotel and the guest didn't automatically go to Google to post a review, I'd make sure to reach out to them. Poor hotel management in my opinion and will stick to my Marriott hotels from now on.
Nice and accommodating staff, great locations not far from lots of shops, restaurants, and the waterfront, super comfy bed, cool setup in the room, great amenities
The light above my desk didn't work. No microwave in room.
staff were amazing! Great loco!
Fantastic hotel! The rooms were extremely comfortable, and the cleanliness was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. I usually stay at the Hyatt Convention Center, but I’ll be choosing this hotel from now on. Great location as well!
The location and staff were available and helpful.
Location is perfect. We were visiting Portland for the first time, and the location of the hotel is ideal. The rooms are exceptionally clean, and the staff is some of the best I have ever encountered when travelling. Be sure to stop in at the bar area and ask for Annie - she was such a great representative of the hotel and city and was very helpful to our group.
Clean hotel, very friendly staff. Parking is not in site, but there are close paid lots and street parking which was sufficient.
Valet service was nice Got a lot of insight on places to eat from the front desk. Can’t remember her name. A lot of walking restaurants close by.
Too good. Makes me not want to leave
Great property & staff, my room was quite nice/comfortable, and in a very walkable part of town! If you are looking for a solid experience in downtown Portland, I'd start here.
Staff
Sheets were incredibly stiff and rough.
Staff are excellent
Breakfast was limited and not excellent
The atmosphere
The Parking fee
Location and vibe. Very nice for a quick one night. Would have loved to stay longer.
Paid waaaay too much to deal with the noise disturbance of an overserved guest and poor attitude of employees unwilling to deal with him. Could here this man talking at the top of his lungs from the bottom floor all the way in my room on the 3rd floor. Employee was not only dismissive but they were actually bothered that I called down to address the issue. I was told he's a guest so all they could do is ask him to be quieter. God forbid they stopped serving him or refused service as soon as he enetered the bar.. I first encountered him while i was eating in the restaurant area and actually left because he was at a level 10 the moment he walked up to the bar. When i checked out the bartender who gladly served him stated 30years in the industry you stop noticing them yelling. Lol ookie. Then proceeded to tell me to escape the yelling while i can and to have a good night. She said it in jest, but seriously...a lot of this cpuldve been avoided had she just called it for him then. Meanwhile the man just came back into the lobby from assaulting a rando on the street in front of the hotel. I watched it from my window. I spent the money on this place to avoid this kind of drama from a cheaper place in this area. Unfortunately I avoided nothing and basically set my money on fire. Additionally there's a nightclub right next door. My bad for not seeing that. Minor compared to the belligerent guest and not really part of this review just a heads up for others that in general not the most peaceful stay.
I can’t give enough accolades to the staff at this hotel - every interaction I had was exceptional. When I walked in late afternoon on a Thursday I was greeted by Helena who was so welcoming and so friendly. When she checked me in she acknowledged my Globalist status with Hyatt and gave me an even better upgraded room than the one I was already upgraded to on the app! She was so nice and friendly! I went for a walk around the area later on and when I walked back in I had a quick question and Helena addressed me BY NAME even though I had checked in seven hours earlier!! The hotel is very cool - totally ultra-modern with a great bar for a cocktail and a snack. I was upgraded to a corner king room which was very clean and comfortable. I had a quiet and peaceful night for sleeping and really enjoyed the modern industrial style of the room. Lots of nice touches like robes and lovely toiletries. The fitness room is excellent - multiple cardio options as well as a full weight rack and bench for strength training and a multi-station machine which is a great extra. The hotel is located in a spectacular area of downtown Portland. So many cool bars, restaurants and shopping are within easy walking distance including a Whole Foods in case you need to get any supplies. They provide complimentary brewed coffee in the lobby in the morning which is so appreciated. I wasn’t able to take advantage of the full Globalist breakfast in the morning but the grab and go options they offered were plentiful and delicious. Overall I highly recommend this property - one of the best Centrics I’ve stayed at if not one of the best Hyatt’s overall for the value.
The space is modern and the room is well appointed with many conveniences tucked in an efficient space. I loved the black out shades and motion detected night lights. The location is ideal when visiting downtown Portland with a high walk score! Best of all, the price was so great for this high value stay!
No suggestions.
This was my first stay at this HC and it was fabulous. Every FD person was warm and welcoming and knowledgeable. The staff overall were fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were QUIET and clean. The location cannot be beat. Jake at the FD made our stay seamless. Will stay here on every trip to Portland. I'm a globalist, stay at Hyatts around 90-110 nights/year for vacation and family travel, and was very impressed with how I was treated on this stay. The floors are concrete, it's more of an artsy kitschy type hotel, but the rooms are quiet, gym is sufficient and elevators are fast. Five stars all around!!
Location was great, room and amenities were fantastic but the lack of late-night options nearby was the only negative. The staff was very helpful in locating late-night food options, but it required a trip away from the hotel by car.
The gym
The elevator time u have to wait
The staff was nice
There’s no smoking out on the balcony.
Great location. Very nice room with a comfortable bed. Two closets, one had coffee machine and fridge, both had lights that came on when opened. Nice bar in the evening and good breakfast in the morning.
Be aware that the streetcar runs by in morning. So, no sleeping in unless you bring earplugs (maybe something the hotel could provide?). No coffee stirrers in packet and only one packet of coffee creamer. Only two paper cups.
The staff was extremely accommodating when I needed support with any of the rooms.
What a great time we had! This place is awesome! My 17 and 9 year old have expressed Hyatt is their favorite hotels to stay at now. This was the best one yet! My oldest expressed how he really liked the concrete inside the room. All the photos listed were less than .6 miles away. We walked to the waterfront and got everything on the way back to the hotel.
It was amazing.
I didn’t like the room without coffee table and it would help with more space given the two beds.
We stayed at the Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland for a long weekend of exploring the city and enjoying Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs. The hotel is a great base as it’s centrally located in downtown Portland, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and transit. Check in was smooth and friendly and the lobby has that signature Hyatt Centric eclectic vibe of modern, colorful, and casual. Our room was slightly compact, which is pretty on par for the brand, but it was comfortable and good value for the area. There is a lobby restaurant and bar which we only stopped in for drinks, but the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Overall this is a solid choice when visiting Portland.
Great location, amazing staff and clean rooms! I am so happy we stayed here! If I go back to Portland I'd wanna stay again!
We didn't get a complimentary breakfast. I guess we didn't spend enough money for the room.
I was taken aback by the unfinished concrete on the ceiling and concrete on the floor. I felt like I was camping in a construction site. Not very appealing aesthetically.
The staff was incredible! They were friendly and super accommodating.
We are locals and do staycations regularly here. It’s consistently the best Hyatt in town for service and price. It’s right near everything interesting downtown. We love the bar and the main bartender at night (Annie?). Alyssa at the market in the morning is wonderful. The front desk are some of the nicest and most helpful we’ve experienced at a Hyatt, which is a high bar. The new globalist breakfast is a big miss, though. The changes to the menu and food quality are a let down especially considering how good it used to be.
Location and clean very nice front desk
The bed was very comfortable
The concrete floors and ceilings were cold and stark and not of the standard I have experienced in the past from a Hyatt hotel
Jake at the front desk was absolutely extraordinary, never lose him. Professional thinking ahead, helping us with things we didn’t even know we needed in solving problems. It was absolutely extraordinary. Lolley Alaska Airlines.
The hotel has everything that you would want. Great location, amazing staff and a clean comfortable room. I really enjoyed the bed. Very high quality and would buy one for myself. The hotel is just across the street from Jake’s Grill, which was fantastic.
We had a corner room and it was above the street car line, which was a bit annoying while we tried to get to sleep. While this is not the hotel’s fault, I would request a room on a higher floor and not one facing 11th Ave.
Clean, modern, friendly
NA
Outstanding property and the location could not be better. Easy to get from the airport using the MAX light rail. Once you're there, there is a streetcar just outside the hotel. We took the streetcar to the NW neighborhood for Salt & Straw ice cream. Near the hotel are many, many restaurants. There's also room service and a restaurant at the hotel which looked good. Our breakfast the next morning was exceptionally good. If you are sensitive to noise, request a higher floor - we didn't notice street noise but we were on the 15th floor. We love that the floors are hard surfaces instead of carpet. Beds were very comfortable, too.
Great location, friendly staff. The rooms were stylish and functional. In-room bathrobe a plus! Fantastic, easy access location.
Ubicación, comodidad, amabilidad, el restaurante muy bueno
El ascensor algo lento y ruidoso
The room is nice for a few days and in a good location.
The parking is expensive but there are lots nearby for a lot cheaper if you are willing to walk.
Did not receive any room service during our stay. Had to ask for clean towels and they never changed our sheets. We stayed for three nights.
the location was excellent, I didn't have a car but there were plenty of nice retaurants within walking distance. The hotel restaurant which is only open for breakfast and dinner was also excellent. The design is industrial. modern and very well thought out. The staff was friendly and professional and very willing to help me any questions.
