No compliments breakfast.
Nil
The front desk staff including France, an Iranian guy and another Turkish guy.
The pool time, it could have been extended to 12 am not 10 pm.
I liked the warm welcome from the front desk and staff, it was so genuine and professional. The scenery from my room was spectacular, it had a beautiful view of the narrows.
I would have liked the club breakfast to be served a little later, a 9:30 cut off is too early for some vacationers.
L'emplacement, la piscine et le jacuzzi
Hôtel vieillot, le cadre ne reflète pas le prix. Rénovation des chambres ne serait pas du luxe
Breakfast and staff
I paid 500+ for one night with my partner and they gave us 2 double beds instead of the king we booked. On top of this, the outlets in the room did not work and there were barely any lights in the room. Chair also had stains on it:(
Long walk downtown; repeatedly :))
The location of the hotel was great. Since the center of St. John's is not very big, you could walk everywhere from the hotel without any problems. My partner and I stayed here for five nights. Our room had a view of the city. It was quite large and equipped with everything you need. I really liked the thick, comfy mattress on the bed. We had access to the lounge, where we went for breakfast, during the day for drinks, and in the evening for a small snack. The breakfast was sufficient, and I really appreciated that there was also fruit tea available. One morning, the lounge was closed, and breakfast was served at the restaurant. It was also excellent there. The staff was very pleasant, check-in and check-out were quick, and we didn't encounter any problems during our stay.
Clean, comfortable
No info/help with parking lot -how to use/enter etc/devices. Breakfast-table was not clean, no acknowledgement -slow service, buffet was pretty much empty - no refilling happening
I liked the location, great large, spacious room, the best comfy king bed.
This hotel is over rated and over priced. Spend your money elsewhere. The rooms are very ordinary, what you would expect at a Holiday Inn for lot less money. I do not recommend this place and needless to say will not be back. Far too expensive with very poor accommodation and service.
Sheraton St. John's is located in downtown St. John's and a 15-minute drive from the airport, YYT. The hotel is in the Signal Hill area, close to sights, bars and restaurants. The restaurant and bar is on the lobby level with the reception desk, and on the lower level is the indoor pool, sauna and a good size gym. The club lounge is next to the reception and has all day drinks in addition to breakfast and evening food between 5pm and 7pm. The rooms are nice and well planned for both business and leisure travellers, and the corner rooms offers both space and nice harbour views. Parking is C$25 per day, however there is on street parking just outside the hotel if you prefer to spend less! Parking is controlled 8-18 Monday to Friday and max 4 hours, but if you change street, then you pay only C$12 a day. Overall a nice hotel for exploring St. John's.
The hotel sits at the opposite end of downtown from George St which might be a good thing as it's pretty sketchy down there. Duckworth St was not much better. It's close to Signal Hill which was nice. The room was clean and well maintained. We had a Harbour View room and that was the bonus of staying here. I enjoyed watching some ship come in early morning before we set out. We stayed two night before heading up to Bonavista and planned to stay here again for a couple of nights on our way back. We wanted to add an extra night to our stay but Marriot decided to increase the original booked night by $85 as well as the extra night. The property didn't change in the three days we were gone. Greed. We cancelled and stayed elsewhere.
The concierge lounge has a good breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage with pastries. In the evening they have two hot items from 5-7 PM. The concierge lounge is located on the main floor. Limited snacks but plenty of colas. AC good. Overall, good gym with 24 hour access and a nice indoor pool. Easy walking access to the downtown areas. If you get a room with a view, it has a great overlook of the bay. Good friendly staff.
Beautiful, clean well maintained hotel with great views, Fantastic friendly staff...great room with water view, comfortable bed and large size tv for viewing FIFA games. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Everything was just right for us.
Nice
I like it all
The staff in particular are fantastic at this location. Kind, friendly, accommodating, and very responsive. Any questions were immediately answered and further information was provided (sometimes you don't know the right questions to ask) - staff were knowledgeable and as mentioned, responsive.
The two things I didn't like are only because they weren't to my personal taste in that I found the bed too soft and the pillows to flat. I don't think these are items of any concern to any other traveller.
This hotel is very well situated and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms spacious. There is a pool, hot tub, gym, restaurant and parking on site. The staff are helpful and friendly. Although a mix of people, it seems primarily a business and conference hotel.
Situation géographique, grand parking
Des vrais tasses, pas des gobelets en cartons
We were overcharged for a late check out very disappointed
Excellent facilities on site (pool, gym, changing room + saunas). Parking on site Very close to downtown St Johns (10-15 min walk). Great views of the harbour and town Nice bar and lounge area to relax in
The location and view were great, staff were very helpful and friendly. However the hotel is dated and run down. Faucets were broken and unsecured in both rooms we stayed in, moulding was falling off of the closet doors, the chair in each room were filthy and stained and there is no ventilation in the washrooms so every time we showered the windows would fog up, this also likely explains the musty smell of the room.
Everything was good...
Paying for parking when your staying in the hotel
Fee for parking is high!
Some staff were rude - food was ok
Very good
The parking lot wasnt maintained well. A lot of ice where you park so very dangerous
I spent two nights at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in St John's on a business trip to Canada 🇨🇦. The location is very good, close to the city centre, the Jelly Bean tourist attraction and the George Street bars. There is also a large parking area around the hotel. These are clearly the hotel's strongest points as on many other grounds it disappoints. Despite renovation efforts the rooms and the common areas look outdated. Modern touches were applied here and there in the rooms or in the lobby (e.g., front desk furniture) but overall the hotel remains stuck in the 80's. More annoying was that during my whole stay I was unable to properly connect to Internet and get access to my personal and business messages. I mentioned the issue at the front desk but with no result. The service could also be improved from a very slow - it took ages for the employee to manually fill in the breakfast vouchers, a very clunky process - and almost unfriendly check-in to the lackadaisical breakfast service. The breakfast was also mediocre. No fresh fruit juice, cappuccinos and expressos as extras, no brown bread. All breakfast options were displayed in an unattractive way in a tiny room at the end of the restaurant. I definitely recommend to look for other hotel options in St John's as there are too many negative points associated with Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland.
Loved the location and the pool. The restaurant has the best fries!
The price of parking
Stayed here to celebrate the holidays with family in NL. Location was perfect - close to signal hill and downtown. The room was great and had a neat round window with a view of the city. The pool, lounge, and hot tub were intermittently closes due to short staff which was disappointing.
Excellent customer service. We were greeted by the nicest man at the front desk. He upgraded our room and gave us free parking. Our view was phenomenal. The room was spacious and very pretty, modern design. The oval window was a super plus. The bar and restaurant, Bivver, on site is amazing. Best espresso martini I've ever have. The bar tenders were super nice and went above and beyond.
Nothing, I loved everything!
The pool and hot tub the greenery that was there was beautiful
The pool and hot tub was down for cleaning The room to us is out dated the toilet was uneven banged every time you sat on it lighting in rooms were very poor
Location was great. Hotel was run well. We did have some problems at check in with requests we had made not being answered, but they fixed the issues for us.
Pillows were not amazing (rest of bed was!)
Bed was comfortable, Room had a quirky window which was cool. Bar staff were excellent.
Nous avons tout adoré.

Large room but cold
Everything
Just checking out after a weekend here to celebrate a friends wedding. The hotel staff were super - I'm a frequent travelling and have lifetime status and as usual they treated me with a nice corner suite and all the usual amenities. Our guests were not however and when we inquired about paying to upgrade their room, the staff very generously did so for no cost and helped with some nice treats in the room to make it special. This type of over the top service is why I always stay here when in St Johns. The hotel is nicely situated on a hill with great views, has easy access via cab or 5-10 minute walk to all the goodness downtown, a great bar and has been nicely updated over the years.. highlight recommended.
Wonderful Hotel, excellent staff, great food and drink! The indoor pool and hot tub were very nice! Lots of good food and drink nearby! Room was spacious, clean and amazing view of the harbor! The shower had plenty of hot water and great water pressure! Ate several meals at the hotel, all meals were very good.
Good location. The room had a great view and comfortable beds. Also, loved the bathroom amenities. Well equipped gym.
The pool area seemed a bit rundown. The included breakfast was not worth the money.
Location
Great
The pool and gym are a little run doen
Nice, clean and comfortable
Expensive
Location and staff
Small and limited restaurant
We had a harbourfront room with a great view. Worth the extra money
Parking was good but to expensive
Parking card didn't work ...every.single.time. parking expensive, no bathroom fan!!
Great location, hotel restaurant food was very good.
Needed better pillows, to soft
Nice hotel in great location. Recommend harbour view room.
Check in was very easy along with an upgraded room with a view of the harbour. The room was clean, spacious and the bed the usual Marriott comfort. The hotel is located close to signal hill, the battery and Quidi Vidi - all walkable for able bodied folks. The walk into downtown St John's (George St & Water Streets) is an easy 10-15 minutes. If looking for a quaint breakfast/lunch spot try the Battery Cafe about a 5 minute walk away.
The room and bed was comfortable. Great location.
Decor a bit dated
The staff at the front desk were lovely and accommodating. I was annoyed the room was 300$ a night, and i was then charged an additional $25!! For parking. During our stay we wanted to swim and hot tub. There was a wedding happening that evening and we had to walk through the wedding party, in our robes and swim suits, to get to the pool. It would have been nice if there were an area sectioned off for hotel guests to access the pool and hot tub without walking through the wedding. (I literally had to ask the bride to excuse me while i walked behind her in my wet bathing suit)
Great location
Location, and friendly staff at the reception and cleaning team.
Paper thin walls, people were partying next room and we could not sleep. Outdated bedrooms, some sheets were stained. There was a permanent fast food smell on our room level due to endless packed lunches prepared for coaches, piled up on tables 24/7. We could barely see the view as windows were so dirty on the outside. The breakfast was very poor, there was so little choice compared to other hotels for the same price. We were so disappointed we had to go eat outside afterwards. The restaurant staff was a bit unfriendly, and we were disgusted by some practices ( staff member got his long greasy hair, uncovered, hanging above the porridge pot while refilling). This is our very first bad hotel experience in 20 years.
Beautiful hotel and excellent service
Very clean, modern and well appointed
This Sheraton hotel has a fantastic location and breath-taking view of the harbour view. The staff is warm and very helpful. However, the room is not in a good condition - old carpet, terribly done plumbing work (both faucet facing backwards), very loud air conditioning. This hotel is not at the level the Sheraton-chained hotels should be. It needs a renovation badly.
Had a great stay, and very clean.
The staff was very accommodating with the Air Canada strike impact.
Nicely located hotel. Clean but needs rejuvenating. Service and food were good. People very kind. Rooms need updating but a descent size. Please get sheets that fit the mattress. REALLY!!! The reason we book hotels is to sleep. So unacceptable. Sheets keep coming off the mattress.
The location of the hotel is excellent! Just a short walk to access shopping and restaurants downtown. You could get an excellent view of the harbour. if that is what you selected. Just a short walk to the waterfront, too.
Parking was a bit of a hassle. I had to go see the front desk in person twice during my visit because the system wasn't letting me out of the parking lot.
Good - rooms could use an update.
Close to port and pedestrian mall. Very picturesque!
St. John’s is a beautiful area with welcoming people. Loved the whole experience, the views, the restaurants, and learning about the history.
The room was clean, bed was comfortable.
The property was very convenient for our needs...very walkable to restaurants and cafes and downtown
Central hotel with great harbour view rooms! The lobby restaurant and bar is great, on site parking; walkable to downtown area. Would definitely stay again!
