Walkable area to the harbour and nearby restaurants/pubs Comfortable beds and spacious rooms Staff were warm and welcoming from the time we arrived until departure
The room temperature was difficult to set; sometimes too cold or too hot Laundry facilities are limited and could improve with more machines
Easy to walk to most of the interesting sites and close to many good places to eat. It was clean, comfortable and nice staff. We had a harbor view and really liked that.
I liked everything
Great location.
Room was noisy on first floor right on the road.
The staff was very friendly
$14 for parking that we didn’t know about when we booked only found out about it when we checked out
Late our check in
No kettle, no tea ,no microwave,
Great harbor view. NICE STAFF.
The restaurant food was delicious, very clean, easy to get around town.
Staff was very nice and hotel was quiet and comfortable. Room was very clean and well stocked
Great hotel. Excellent staff. Couldn’t ask for a better location for shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, scenery.
Great view
Always clean & staff is always friendly
Was booked in error. Was not provided refund.

Wonderful location! Friendly s
The staff was great
The front desk service was incredible.
Staff were lovely. Teri at the front desk is amazing!
Its view of the harbor was great. Staff were very helpful too.
The hotel was an excellent location, close to shops, restaurants. Terri at reception was amazing, Thank you. The biggest disappointment was the service in the restaurant ( Gian’s) it took almost 20 min. to order 3 coffees. Very disappointing.
Staff was exceptionally helpful , friendly and courteous.
Awesome staff! Close to restaurants and sight seeing
Great location in downtown St John's with view of harbour.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely view of the harbour.
The parking lot is under construction and very hard to maneuver.
Parking was across the street from the hotel.
Clean place friendly staff
Perfect location.
Very well maintained property. Stayed for a week and enjoyed our stay.
Great location, helpful staff, clean and quiet.
We loved our room looking out over the harbour. I liked that we could open our window for fresh air. The decor seemed new and fresh and suited the area. Bed was comfortable too.
We loved the location and the very friendly and helpful staff!
Staff was friendly and helpful in making sure I enjoyed my stay.
View
Not particularly well located.
First, the positives - location (downtown area with access to numerous restaurants, the harbour, some quaint shops), room was spacious (junior suite), clean, staff were great from the front desk to dining). Internet was good. Bed relatively comfortable. Included breakfast was great. The negatives - minimal storage in the room, furniture not overly comfortable. Parking was extra and convenient but they provide parking to all that request it but have limited convenient parking. We encountered one evening where we had to park on the street because there were no parking spots left in the lot. This is normally a night issue but it changed the way we went out at night using taxis instead of our rental car. An easy fix for the hotel to maintain #’s of active parking permits and not sell beyond capacity. We were also there during a busy week but no excuses. Overall, good stay but could be better.
Staff were friendly. The rooms were a nice size.
Incredibly helpful and polite staff. Room was perfect. Good location to local restaurants.
Met expectations. The parking lot is monitored by a private company so get your parking permit in quick
Breakfast was great, clean well appointed room. Bed could be a little more comfortable but wasn’t bad. Staff was friendly went above and beyond to help us out when our luggage was delayed. Would love to stay here again when we visit St.Johns!
Good spot close to downtown and George street. Room felt a bit damp but it is across the street from the port. Only real downside is parking is limited and you have to pay for a pass that may or may not be of use based on if the lot is full or not.
Great location
Good location by the harbour in downtown St John’s. Spacious suite with kitchenette, clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast pretty poor on the one day I tried it.
Great location, clean, and very accommodating! Great housekeeping services! Only thing we did not like was the fridge/ freezer doors opened the wrong way!!!
The TV guide was off on timezone.
Great spot in a perfect location. The rooms are well-sized, clean and very comfortable. Restaurant / bar has lots of options and is very reasonably priced. Service is friendly. Hard to go wrong here.
Staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel was in a great location, quick walk from Water St and George St, beautiful view looking over the harbour. Rooms were very nice and clean
Overall our stay was fine. The location of the hotel is ideal for walking to restaurants and to Signal Hill. It’s clean and the restaurant in the hotel is convenient and has a great view of Signal Hill and the harbour. The staff at the hotel were all friendly. We became a little frustrated with how things work in terms of housekeeping especially with how much we were paying for the room. We are normally used to having our do not disturb on in the morning while we get ready when staying at a hotel and then taking it off, going out for the day and then returning to a serviced room. We discovered on our first day this was not the case when we returned to our room and had to go down and ask several times for more coffee for the next morning and toilet paper before we received any. Every day of our stay we had to speak to the front desk to ask for our room to be serviced and sometimes still had to go down to the front desk to ask for coffee refills. It kind of felt like if we weren’t out of our room by 8:30am then we would have to coordinate getting our room serviced. It just took a bit away from our stay that we constantly had to be thinking about this. We often stay at Marriott owned hotels and had never encountered this before. I would recommend the hotel but be aware that things may not operate as they do in other hotels (or at least they didn’t for us).
great hotel, restaurant was probably the best around in ST johns. very convenient!
Well located, clean, helpful, friendly staff
Localização central. Quarto amplo, confortável e silencioso. Estacionamento conveniente em frente do hotel. Bom restaurante.
Não tem pequeno-almoço tipo buffet. O serviço a la carte é mais moroso e nunca se come exatamente o que se pretende.
The location was wonderful, the staff very friendly, the room was spotless and comfortable. I would definitely stay again.
It was located close to most sites and lots of restaurants.
Central location Great view of harbour Very helpful staff
The room is very clean and the location is perfect if your want to visit signal hill and enjoy downtown lifestyle. The staff are very helpful, responsive and friendly.
The only thing I would think that is not perfect is the harbor loading bay opposite the hotel which blocks part of the harbor view.
Downtown and clean
No pool and no points or night with the convoy age club
Staff premises and location
Great view of the Harbour.
I liked everything about my stay at the Marriott. Great staff. Location is amazing betwixt the downtown and the shore walks. Another neighbourhood there that is so enjoyable, so “me”, I suppose. Very restful, yet happening—busy dockside is so interesting ❤️
Gorgeous rooms, beautiful view of the harbour
Adjacent to the working port so views of offshore supply vessels being loaded and unloaded while eating breakfast or from our harbour view suite. Loved it.
Nice property in a great location to walk to everything staff is friendly and welcoming
The thing that we liked most was the front desk staff; especially Nadia who was so friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were good and tasty. Two men that acted as support staff were also great and prompt in responding to anything needed. one was Ukrainien and the other Panamanian.
The fact that the maid did not clean our room the 3rd day that we were there. We had asked her to come back in about half of an hour as we were about to go out on a tour, but when we got back later that day, it was not done. Lack of capuccino in the restaurant.
I decided to book this hotel because of laundromat. I think other hotel in St. John’s has no laundromat. But there is only one washer and one dryer so someone was using, of course we need to wait :). Need to buy soap or bring yourself. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Parking was other side of street. Easy to park. I think 20$/ day. One thing, we don’t like our shower room, the door was open itself. So during we took showers, we always needed to close.
We had the junior suite for our 4 night stay. The suite was a great size, clean and quiet. The Hotel is in a great area, walkable to " ground Zero", George street, and many great restaurants and pubs...
Check-in and stay at the Courtyard by Marriott St. John's was great. We loved the staff and the room and the view of the harbour. I traveled with two friends who are from Newfoundland and we had a great time seeing the sights.
Great location and a much smaller hotel in the Capital which made it cozier. The service was excellent and the room was roomy. Parking is across the street in a monitored lot. One complaint was the lack of decent lighting in the room.
Clean, comfortable hotel right in the downtown. Easy walking distance for many restaurants and entertainment. Can watch the boats coming and going in the harbour from the room. View of Signal Hill.
Great location, lovely staff, comfy rooms
Hotel is in a great location overlooking the harbour. Comfy bed. Staff very friendly. Good stay.
Close walking to downtown
The hotel was great, good location, clean, nice restaurant on site.
Just returned from a wonderful trip home to St Johns again. My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Hotel on Duckworth Street. Again, we enjoyed our stay there. We really like the location, parking lot across the street, nice restaurant and bar, good food and outstanding service. We wanted to recognize Terry who greets the guests so warmly, Monsour, Angela, Angelette and Jessica who took care of us at the restaurant and Gio who I met during our stay..friendly young man who let us know just to ask if we needed anything at all. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.. there is no place like Newfoundland and the amazing people who live there!
Friendly staff and loved the kitchenette!
We had harbour view which gave us lots of things to look at. The hotel is a great location as we could just park the car and walk most places.
This was a great hotel to stay in. The staff was friendly an helpful, my room (716) was spotless and spacious and the and the handwritten welcome note and a treat from the manager was a nice touch. I received the note probably because I'm a Marriott Rewards lifetime platinum member. The location was great. If the bars on George St. are your thing, It's about a 15 minute walk. There are also a bunch of restaurants within 500 meters. Unlike most Courtyards in the US, this one has a full-service restaurant and bar. I didn't try it, but the menu looked good and varied. I used points for my three-day stay and I'm glad I stayed here instead of the Sheraton up the hill an farther away from things that I was going to walk to. There's a decent fitness center as well as spotless guest laundry room. There is hotel-owned parking across the street. I think it was $15 per day.
I stayed at this nice little establishment for 4 nights in early June, a solo traveller in a large one bedroom suite, #306. It appears to have been fairly recently refurbished with simple, unfussy designs and good materials. The kitchen has 4 appliances – refrigerator-freezer (large freezer compartment), dishwasher, microwave, and Nespresso coffee machine. It has four sets of cutlery and dishes, and tons of storage space. The living area is spacious, with a small, lounging couch, small round dining table and two chairs, and a desk area. The bathroom is large and bright. There are two closets in the suite. The Queen bed was exquisitely comfortable, and the bed linens were of good quality. There are adequate electrical outlets in all rooms, and USB ports at both bed sides. The bedside tables can also accommodate lots of “stuff“. There are two gargantuan TVs. #306 faces the water and an industrial shipping yard. Not the best view, but could be worse. Drawbacks: there are several. The kitchen has no lighting. It would benefit from an under-cupboard lighting strip that would shine light on the counter. The bathroom is large enough to have two sinks; it has one only. The shower is large, pristine and attractive, but has no shower wand for rinsing. There are sheers and thicker curtains, but most definitely these are not blackout drapes. At this time of year when it gets light at 5:30 AM, that is a problem. And it is one that could be easily avoided with light-impermeable blinds. Another drawback is the AC. It works, but I found it quite loud, and even when set on low it’s still loud but does not stay on continuously. One could get used to the sound if it didn’t shut on and off intermittently. There is a little unit with drawers that is so low to the ground you have to squat to get into it. I didn’t use it at all, but put my clothes in piles on the ironing board. The biggest drawback of all is the thin walls. I could hear full conversations from the couple next door – who were talking at a normal volume. I could hear not just the sounds of them talking, but each word and laugh. The staff here are absolutely fantastic. A big shout out to housekeeping staff Renee, who is just about the genuinely friendliest, sweetest person. William, Zeis and Nadia were also great to deal with. Front of house manager Teri is an excellent ambassador for the Bonvoy brand and a credit to the Marriott Courtyard. Newfoundlanders are just about the friendliest people on the planet, and the staff at the Courtyard are no exception. They made my visit relaxed, comfortable and pleasant. This is a nicely-refurbished, decent place to stay, but the thin walls are a significant issue and impossible to easily remedy.
Friendly, helpful staff, parking was reasonable and very convenient. Great location.
The beep-beep-beep of the port behind the hotel drove my husband crazy. I loved the view our out to the ocean. The shower is terrific but the bed linens and towels need to be replaced. The staff is very friendly but the hotel does not offer any titanium member benefits.
Easy to access downtown. Close to everything Staff very friendly
This was our first stop in Newfoundland, the staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. It was a short walk to shopping and dining. Will stay here again.
Disappointed that others get breakfast vouchers and apparently my room does not qualify.
