Beds were very comfortable, room was laid out well, lovely old style decor, very friendly staff

Breakfast was not very nice (got the full Irish and the sausages and rashers were not good!), had to walk outside to get to restaurant (no umbrellas at reception but the girl did give us a short cut), water pressure in shower was not amazing

Lovely, relaxing, beautiful grounds and I adore the spa pool and the pool in Brook Hall. Loved the Italian restaurant, great service!

La camera era molto bella con una splendida finestra che affaccia sul giardino. La SPA è sufficiente per un ottimo momento di relax, non era affollata e le vasche sono belle. Un unico appunto sulla vasca esterna da cui siamo scappati perché c'erano troppe mosche

la camera è bella e spaziosa, mentre il bagno sarebbe da rifare cambiando i sanitari e le rubinetterie. Le pulizie non sono super accurate, ma in linea con le altre strutture irlandesi

Wonderful stay! The hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The environment is so peaceful and relaxing. Special thanks to the spa/massage center - the staff were amazing, very professional and friendly. The massage was excellent, one of the best I've had. First-class service! Highly recommended and will definitely come back!

Beautiful lodge in a unique location. I recommend trying the restaurant, the Strawberry Tree, we had a fabulous diner there.

Website indicates waterside lounge is open until 8pm for food but closes at 6pm so quite restrictive as Italian was full and this had been our back up. No comms to advise to pre book Italian restaurant

Great facilities with the pools, bars and restaurants. The whole place has been well maintained and looks great. We had two lovely big rooms side by side as requested.

The breakfast room is not great. Its ambiance is very different to the rest of the hotel and the breakfast was dissappointing. It is made to order but did not impress. It appeared to be made at speed rather than with care.

The sink in our bathroom did not work, we had to use the bathtub to brush our teeth and wash our hands. The room was so hot and stuffy with no air conditioning or fan.

Les deux restaurants Strawberry and La Taverna et leur staff

Le personnel de l’hotel (bar et reception) pas forme tres en dessous du prix. La chambre (superior / luxury) etaot precaire. Pas de nettoyage juste le lit fait. Tres mauvaise reception et staff du bar (littéralement absent). Le petit dejeuner (breakfast) tres simple. Pas du tout de bio soit dias’t tout est bio et vient du potager mais celui-ci est en friche pour l’avoir visiter. Les chambres sont tres simples et sombres avec une pdeur de renferme. Ca ´e vait pas le prix a part ces deux restaurants quo sont top et arrangeants. Je suis intolérante au gluten et ils sont absolument pu tout decliner donc c’est top

We love the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel . Staff are so friendly and welcoming. We’ve been there about 5 times now and have next stay booked in already for April 27 .

Everything… beautiful comfortable room. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Spa so relaxing after days walking in Glendalough and playing golf at Macreddin golf course. Very relaxing atmosphere in the hotel. Italian restaurant amazing - such tasty dishes! Hake dish superb! Pub a great little spot for a late pizza and drink. Best freshly cooked breakfast we’ve had in a long time, so nice rather than the usual buffet in places these days. Great location for Glendalough and Sally Gap. Would definitely recommend!

The ambiance was fab. Very relaxing. It was exactly what we needed. The staff very helpful, warm and professional. The staff in the in the Italian restaurant were second to none. I thank the hotel v much for taking note that it was my husbands birthday. It was a very nice touch that it was acknowledged with a dessert & candle. Thank you.

The shower in the bathroom dripped. The knobs were all loose. It is because it is not very obvious how to start the shower, so its apparent each customer pulls at every knob constantly. Therefore they are loose & rattly. There was no large bath towels in the bathroom. We didnt realise this until we were about to step into the shower. ( They were brought up after we phoned but it was a good 10 mins waiting which was a small pain as we were going to dinner). There was very little toiletries. ( 1 x tiny bottle of lotion, conditioner & shampoo?). There were two of us. Also we had a bath on the mezzanine. No sign of any "bubble bath"?. ( Tbh no-one wants to phone down for bubble bath late into the eve!) So as a result, we didnt par-take). The bedroom itself...I was a little dissapointed. Perhaps my expectation should have been tailored. For a cost of €500, I was expecting different.

When I left my room to put my bags in the car the cleaning staff were in my room when I came back and I was planning on waiting there until closer to 12 as my friend was getting a treatment and mine wasnt until 12. They had also started to eat my tea cakes I had bought

Unusual property (in a good way) but very pleasant location. Breakfast was excellent and the Italian Restaurant on site was superb, although quite expensive. The site is clearly set up for Spa and golfing clientele, neither of which interests us, but as a very nice stopover for a couple of nights as part of a tour of several parts of Ireland it was just the job. We would recommend this property to others.

Room was a c1700m walk from reception and breakfast. A lot of Ivy growing on the buildings, (we aren't fans of Ivy)..but the site and grounds were well maintained.

Breakfast was very tasty and freshly cooked. Service quick and staff very pleasant and helpful. Food menu wonderful and lots of choices on offer for lunch and dinner. The location was exceptional for walks and very well kept. Scenery breathtaking.

The breakfast was excellent, one evening we had a main course and dessert, was which was also very good. The staff were without exception very pleasant and accommodating, the bedroom was comfortable and clean, we would certainly stay here again.

The bed was too warm for the time of year even though the weather wasn't particularly warm

Der Frühstücks-Saal hat eine schöne Atmosphäre, und auch die Qualität des Frühstücks ist sehr gut.

Die Paneelbetten sind kurz, ca. 190 cm, mit einem Fußbrett. Auf dem Bauch liegend stieß der Verfasser dieser Beurteilung (180 cm, 78 kg) oben und unten an. Die eh schon zu schmale Matratze fällt an den langen Kanten auch noch etwas ab, so dass die effektive Auflagefläche gerade einmal die eigene Körperbreite ist. Das passt eher zu einer einfachen Jugendherberge.

Le petit-déjeuner, les dimensions de la chambre et de la salle de bains, les salons, la piscine et le sauna ainsi que le parc. C'est aussi bien placé pour visiter Glendalough et les Wicklow mountains.

L'équipement de la salle de bains est d'époque et le réglage eau chaude/eau froide extrêmement difficile.

Some areas indoors are a bit dark and I felt a bit cold in the breakfast room.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and it has a real old world feel. The spa thermal suite is wonderful, with a pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzi and sauna etc. We ate in Acton's Country Pub and the food was really excellent (from La Taverna Armento, the Italian restaurant on site).

The room was dated and in need of a fresh look. It was disappointing given the wonderful setting. There was no air conditioning and it was really uncomfortable at night. The staff at reception were friendly but for some reason, when we were asking about dining on the first night, they never mentioned the pub and if we hadn't found it ourselves, we would have been dining on room service (the Italian restaurant was fully booked and the Strawberry Tree Restaurant was fine dining which we didn't want on the first night after a long drive). Breakfast was nice but again underwhelming in the buffet section. The cooked breakfast options were good.

The navigation route to get there took us down some terrible tracks! Best not to use GPS but head first to Aughrim then track to the hotel.

Beautifully maintained grounds and common areas. Room was beautifully decorated and maintained. The breakfast, reception and cleaning staff were all excellent.

Car charger did not work and the staff could not get it to work. The breakfast menu was not very extensive and the full Irish breakfast was average. The beds are a sleigh bed design with an end-board, and was too short to lie out comfortably for a tall person.

Very clean. The staff were friendly. It had great facilities for relaxation. Food was very nice, breakfast was excellent. Good parking.

Nothing to really note. Sauna was not on when I arrived at the spa at 9.45 so it would have been nice if it was ready while I was there.

The grounds were beautiful. View from the room over the river were lovely. Staff were very friendly. Room was very good.

We found it very difficult to get food. We weren't told at check in that it was advisable to book for dinner. We were unaware that the cafe and bar were linked for food. Food was stopped at 4:30 in the bar. Then we tried the Italian restaurant which was booked out for most of the evening. We asked could we get a pizza in the bar which we were told that the kitchen was to busy. I explained the situation to the bar staff who was very understanding and great to deal with but in the end we had to wait 2 hours for food. The room was only heated by an small oil heater which had a damaged cable. The breakfast selection was very good but the fried breakfast is kept in a hot hold before serving everything was dried out. Not sure if it has changed ownership but it feels it has dramatically gone down hill in the last while and is definitely not what it used to be. Absolute shame as it used to be perfect place for a get away.
