El hotel está en una colina que da unas vistas espectaculares de la costa. Las habitaciones son muy grandes y cómodas. La zona de la piscina está muy bien, con socorrista. El onsen es perfecto. El de mujeres era enorme con zona exterior y todo. Me parece muy buena idea tener una tienda en el hotel porque como no hay mucho donde comer alrededor puedes comprar alguna cosilla para sobrevivir algún día si no quieres pagar el restaurante.

Todo nos encantó.

Nice view, nice staff and great breakfast buffet with great local and international alternatives.

The hotel seems quite old and outdated, was however clean. Situated on the mountaintop and not the easiest to get to without shuttle bus/ car. We were in Shimoda off season (beginning of September) and the city is completely dead, almost no restaurants or entertainment around. Would consider booking dinner with the hotel if u decide to stay here.

La vista è spettacolare, sembra di stare in una cartolina. Ho amato lo yoga sul prato e l'onsen. Al mare si accede uscendo dall'hotel, la spiaggia libera non è attrezzata ma facilmente raggiungibile.

L'hotel appare ben tenuto ma un po' datato. Le stanze sono molto pulite ma in generale non amo le moquettes nelle stanze.

The staff are very friendly, especially the concierge, Chida, who was very helpful. They also provided me an extra duvet to soften the mattress. The views are great. Breakfast is pretty good with quite a lot of variety. The nearby beach has a great cafe - try the lassi, which is homemade yoghurt with home made strawberry smoothie!

The room is small for a resort. The onsen is also small and the wood in the outside tub is slimy and going black. There seems to be no bar or place to hang out in the evenings. The pool is not very big and continually filled with kids - absolutely no way to swim. While there is a small beach nearby, it is a long climb down. Very few staff speak good English, especially on the front desk

The breakfast spread was good. We love the room and the pool. The staff were amazing.

. Nos alojamos dos noches en el Hotel de Shimoda y la experiencia fue muy positiva. Destacan la calidad del servicio, las instalaciones y, especialmente, su amplia y espectacular piscina, situada en una zona elevada desde la que se disfrutan bonitas vistas de la costa. Al encontrarse en lo alto de una colina, el hotel ofrece un entorno tranquilo y unas panorámicas privilegiadas. Si llegas antes de la hora del check-in, el personal guarda el equipaje y permite esperar y utilizar las instalaciones, incluida la piscina. Es un detalle muy práctico que hace que la llegada resulte especialmente agradable. El desayuno fue fantástico: variado, abundante y adecuado para distintos gustos. Además, el personal ofrece una atención excelente y es habitual encontrar numerosos huéspedes internacionales. También resulta muy útil el servicio de shuttle hasta la terminal de Shimoda, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta la ubicación elevada del hotel. A pie, el trayecto puede durar unos 20 minutos, por lo que este servicio facilita mucho los desplazamientos hacia la estación y el centro. La playa situada justo debajo del hotel no nos pareció especialmente recomendable. Como alternativa, Shirahama Beach es una opción mucho mejor; desde la estación de Shimoda, el trayecto en taxi cuesta aproximadamente 2.500 yenes. Los baños onsen están bien, aunque resultan algo pequeños para un hotel de estas dimensiones. Aun así, son agradables para relajarse después de un día de excursiones o de playa. En cuanto al pueblo de Shimoda, nos pareció poco interesante: hay pocas tiendas y atractivos destacados, y muchos establecimientos cierran bastante temprano. Por eso, el hotel funciona mejor como base para disfrutar de sus instalaciones, las vistas y las playas cercanas que como punto de partida para explorar el centro de la localidad.

Las habitación que nos tocó (214) eran antiguas y bien conservadas, pero el colchón muy blando y creemos que deberían cambiarlo. Parecía que dormías en una hamaca. Se dormía mejor el la cama supletoria o en el sofá cama ya que era más rígido y estable.

we loved the Hawaii feeling at the end of our Japan trip! It’s a perfect hotel to relax for some days. The pool is great and the ocean is also beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! We’d definitely come back!

The bathrooms are a bit old fashioned as compared to other hotels we’ve booked here and I personally think that the price is a bit high, but we would pay it again! 🙃

早餐不错，人多有点拥挤。

酒店建在陡峭的山坡上，还好租了车，否则出入不方便，看到有人步行进出还是挺吃力的。海景房有噪音，经过交涉和等待后给换了山景房。酒店走到泳池和小沙滩需要爬一段楼梯，如果玩海还是去冲绳吧，下田有点萧条，海边浴场也一般，没什么人气。热海人多热闹，但沙滩灰色的看上去不是很干净。东京就近来玩还马马虎虎吧。

Café da manhã é caro e não gostei. Tatuagem a mostra na piscina não pode. A praia não é perto e é pequena. Piscina poderia ficar aberta até um pouco mais tarde. Só tem um elevador, é isso demora de mais.

Sehr gut Sicht vom Berg, toller Pool und Nähe zu einem kleinen Strand!

Auf ein Taxi in den Ort oder zu einem Strand zu warten war sehr nervig. Restaurants sehr überschaubar in der Nähe und die Hotel-Restauration war überteuert!

チェックイン時間前でも部屋にはいれたことや会員になるとチェックアウト時間の優遇やプール&大浴場の利用ができるなど教えてくれたこと、スタッフの人たちがフレンドリーだったことなど

エキストラベッドをいれると部屋がかなり狭い。まあこれは仕方がないが部屋の広さかベットを追加するのは考えないといけないかもしれない。

Locatie is moeilijk te evenaren -fantastisch mooi uitzicht over de oceaan - hoog gelegen op een top en een geweldig zwembad en ook de onsen waren zeer aangenaam. Het ontbijtbuffet is top - heel uitgebreid en lekker - westers en Japans. Wel minpuntje over de organisatie van het ontbijt / zie verder

Wij hadden een familiekamer op een lagere verdieping met uitzicht op het groen - niet op de oceaan . We waren er tijdens de Obon week waardoor de prijzen hoger waren en om de prijs wat behapbaar te houden hadden we voor deze kamer gekozen. Ik denk dat / indien mogelijk / het aan te raden is om een kamer te nemen die uitzicht biedt over de oceaan. De kamer was ok maar we hebben qua comfort en gevoel wel in veel mooiere kamers in Japan verbleven. Ook de organisatie van het ontbijt - gezien het hotel vol zat - was wat moeilijk. Je kon niet op voorhand een tijdslot kiezen maar moest de ochtend zelf op de wachtlijst komen en soms moest je een uur wachten op een plekje. Maar het geweldige zwembad en de locatie maken alles goed - het is echt een geweldige plek om in de zomer toch van de zee en zwembad te genieten

Location on top of a cliff over looking the sea was exceptional. Staff were incredibly helpful with everything! Breakfast was wonderful with such a great range of sushi and traditional foods…very tasty. Concierge was incredible. Pool was brilliant as was 10 minute walk to beach.

Der var ikke ret meget plads på vores værelse (vi boede 2 voksne og 1 barn på 11 år).

It’s located on top of a hill. The shuttle service, that they do have, was not communicated properly so we walked instead and that may have been a bad idea. The beach next to the hotel is not great. The pool closes too early.

Mycket fint och modernt hotell med fin pool och nära till en mindre strand där det också går bra att snorkla. Frukosten är enastående med stora valmöjligheter och även maten på restaurangen (kvällstid) håller mycket hög klass. Det går även en shuttle-buss regelbundet in till staden (annars kan man gå c:a 20 minuter). En taxi från tågstationen till hotellet kostar c:a 1000-1200 yen.

Luftkonditioneringen på rummet är för klen och även om vi ställde temperaturen på 20 grader (lägsta möjliga) blev temperaturen i rummet c:a 23-24 grader. Sängarna kan också upplevas som att de är i hårdaste laget.

Прекрасный отель в невероятно красивом месте! Даже из нашего номера с балконом открывался потрясающий вид. Я бы не стала менять его на номер с видом на океан, потому что была возможность каждый вечер сидеть на балконе, общаться с любимым человеком и слушать шум океана. Номер просторный, очень чистый и комфортный. Персонал очень доброжелательный и отзывчивый — всегда готовы помочь и сделать отдых ещё приятнее. Отдельно хочется отметить прекрасный бассейн и бесплатный шаттл до станции Симода ‐ было очень удобно перемещаться. Если возвращаться в отель пешком, то нужно подниматься в гору, но мы люди спортивные, поэтому с лёгкостью это преодолевали :) Единственный минус — лично нам нечего было есть на завтраке. Омлетную станцию открывали только по воскресеньям. Уходили с завтрака с чувством голода. Но даже несмотря на это, я без сомнений ставлю отелю максимальную оценку. Потрясающие виды, атмосфера, заботливые, чуткие люди и невероятная красота этого места полностью перекрывают этот недостаток. Отдельная любовь — сама Симода. Этот городок навсегда запал мне в душу. Какая-то особенная атмосфера спокойствия и уюта, люди очень открытые и душевные. Буду очень скучать ❤️

Service, staff, everything is very nice.

Foods are average or less unfortunately. For the money, we would expect nicer foods.

Pěkný pohodlný hotel. Měli jsme pro 4 lidi skutečně 4 postele, což je na Japonsko výjimečné. Nevyužili jsme snídani ani večeři, chodili jsme do městečka, vyšlo to nesrovnatelně cenově lépe. Každý den jsme dostali láhev vody na osobu. Bazén je pěkný, zdarma si tam můžete nafouknout lehátko nebo kruh, který prodávají dole u pláže. Hotel má i pěkné lázně, které jsou v ceně, jen ženská část nemá saunu. Mužská ano - finskou. To mi přišlo dost škoda :-)

Pláž byla velmi špinavá a neuklizená, což nás v polovině července překvapilo. Vůbec neodpovídá fotkám na stránkách hotelu. Za nás velké zklamání. Jinak hotel je celkem na odlehlém místě, blízko je jen kavárna/restaurace u pláže, jinak kolem hotely. Nejbližší obchod je ve městě, kam dojdete pěšky za cca 20 minut (z kopce a do kopce). Obchody v městečku zavírají brzy (některé až v šest, jiné dřív), některé restaurace zavírají v šest s jiné teprve v šest otevírají.

Beautiful location. Garden and pool area are very nice.

Hotel only ok. Nothing to do after dark.. no games, no bar, nothing. Shimoda town is a very dead town also.

Sehr schöne Gartenanlage mit Pool und Meersicht. Das Frühstucksbuffet war sehr vielfältig (jedoch etwas teuer). Die Zimmer waren gross und komfortabel. Die Meersicht das klare Highlight des Zimmers.

Die Lage ist o.k., jedoch ohne Auto/Taxi nur bedingt zu empfehlen. Der Strand in der Nähe war leider sehr verschmutzt (whs. wegen eines Taifuns), weswegen wir dann auf weiter gelegene Strände ausweichen mussten (ist jedoch nicht Schuld des Hotels). Es gibt Shuttlebusse vom Hotel zur Shimoda Station, was sicherlich gut ist. Zu Fuss ist man in ca. 15 Minuten bei ersten Restaurants/einem Supermarkt, leider waren aber viele Restaurants in dieser Nähe geschlossen. Ein Spaziergang (v.a. im Sommer) kann aufgrund der Höhe des Hotels sehr anstrengend sein.

3泊で利用。リラックスする事が出来ました。スタッフ皆さん心を尽くしていらっしゃるのを感じました。パノラマも素晴らしく、お料理がとても美味しかったです。

Traumhafte Aussicht! Super Onsen! Hotelbus ist sehr praktisch.

Weg zum Strand ist etwas mühsam. Shimoda hat nur wenige gute Restaurants und ist nur mit Taxi oder Hotelbus zu erreichen. Hotelbus fährt nach 18:00 nicht mehr.

Todella siistiä, palvelu ystävällistä, kaikki toimii hienosti. Hyvä onsen ja spa.

Sijainti on hieman syrjäinen keskustaan nähden ja hotelli on korkean vuoren päällä, joten etenkin hotellille palaaminen voi olla jalkaisin aika raskasta. Allasalueella voisi olla jotain palvelua saatavilla, esim kahvila tai edes juoma-automaatti. Viimeisenä päivänämme oli ilmestynyt kyltti, jonka mukaan soittamalla voisi tilata allasalueelle juomaa mutta se on aika mahdotonta jos ei osaa japania eikä ole japanilaista liittymää (soittaminen eurooppalaisella puhelimella olisi todella kallista), ravintolahenkilökunta ei puhu kovin hyvin englantia.

Restauranten er alt for dyr, hvilket også resulterer i at rigtig mange gæster spiser andre steder. Der er ingen servering på hotellet om aftenen, det kunne være hyggeligt hvis man kunne købe en drink eller lign om aftenen. Meget hårde hovedpuder.

This hotel is located up on a tall hill with a beautiful view over the bay, the garden is wonderful with this great view, room was clean and staff was really nice. Had a great massage at the spa. Shimoda is a nice little town, and in June you have Shimoda Park, which is known as one of Japan’s premier hydrangea habitats. Blue, purple and pink hydrangea blooms fill the park. If you walk down the steps from the hotel to the beach, you can walk along the bay on a concrete path that takes you to the Shimoda Aquarium, and there you can also enter the Shimoda park. Probably takes 30 min to walk there but it is a nice walk. Shimoda was one of the most memorable places we went to on our trip. The place has an authenticity and is more quiet than the places that have more tourism.

Swimming pool was closed in June, I wonder when it is open, would have been nice to be able to go in the swimming pool on the hot day we had there. Onsen for females smelled a bit moldy, I just went in there but I did not feel like going in. Breakfast was a good variety but closeable containers for hot plates were kept open and therefore the food was not hot. When staying at this hotel you must think about transportation. They have a shuttle going downtown according to a timetable, but I think the last fare back is between 17:00-18:00, that is not convenient if you want to go out to dinner in town, or do something there after 18:00, you can call them and ask them to pick you up at the bottom of the hill though. Taxis are not that many, the best approach is to ask the restaurant to order a taxi for you, uber app is not working well in Shimoda.

Lovely pool and view, comfortable room, and great onsen. My kids loved the buffet breakfast.

There aren't a lot of options for food nearby and we had a lot of difficulty finding anything the kids would eat within walking distance. The hotel really needs a family friendly restaurant. Also, the onsen smelt like chlorine.

The location is great, the view beautiful. The room was larger than normal. We had dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast was excellent, lots of choices, Japanese & Western. The staff were really helpful as well. Definitely recommend staying here on your Izu travels

Toller Ausblick und das Frühstück war super. Yoga wurde angeboten. Das Meer direkt vor der Tür und die Bucht ist wirklich wunderschön. Die Lage. Shuttle Bus Zeiten super.

Das Personal hat sehr schlechte Englisch Kenntnisse und selbst mit Google translate (japanisch-deutsch) konnten Anliegen nicht gut umgesetzt werden. Leider mit Tattoos keine Möglichkeit das Onsen Bad zu besuchen - wir wussten dies vorher, aber trotzdem sehr sehr schade.

海のすぐそばでロケーション最高！散歩するのもとても気持ちよかったです。 駅からバスも出ていて、車なし旅行でしたが不便なしです。 お食事も美味しくて食べすぎました。ペリーロードのパン屋さんのパンとかも朝食ビュッフェにあって得した気分になりました！

This hotel has an amazing location. The view from the room was stuning. Be sure you get a room with view and forget the balcony rooms. The staff was friendly and professional. The outdoor onsen was a bonus. Breakfast was delicious and a lot to choose from. This hotel has been recently completely renovated. You can become a member for free and enjoy a 12 PM check out and start getting points.

The food at the restaurant is very expensive and small portions. My advice , do not use the restaurant and eat in the small places in town.

Die Aussicht ist ein Traum! Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und lecker.

Manchmal waren die Mitarbeiter nicht die freundlichsten. Leider war der Pool geschlossen und öffnet erst im Juli – das steht aber fairerweise in der Beschreibung. In der näheren Umgebung fehlten Möglichkeiten essen zu gehen. Das Essen im Hotel selbst ist sehr teuer und die Portionen sind sehr klein. Geschmacklich war es in Ordnung.

Amazing view of sea from our spacious room. Loved the onsen. Toiletries supplied, good coffee and sweet treats in room were a surprise! Staff were fab especiall free shuttle bus drivers! Very clean everywhere. Beautiful beaches - one only 5 mins walk away was perfect for bathing.

Lovely location and views and if you haven’t tried an onsen before, this is the place to do it.

Harder to find food options that aren’t the expensive hotel restaurant, but there are some options around 15 minutes walk away.

It was a beautiful spot and spectacular scenery. The staff were lovely and helpful, especially the older gentleman at the door. The breakfast buffet was great, tons of variety and different food items. It’s a bit of an uphill stroll coming back from town but always good to work off some calories from eating everything in sight. The beach close by to the property is also so beautiful. Will bring tears to your eyes.

It’s quite warm with no AC in the rooms and the beds are very tiny.

Las condiciones y vistas desde el onsen fueron fantásticas. Las vistas de la habitación espectaculares. Desayuno con mucha variedad, completo y delicioso. Personal muy servicial. Todo en excelentes condiciones y muy limpio.

Buena cocina, pero menú a la carta un poco restringido, escaso, y un poco caro. La pileta estaba cerrada... me hubiese cambiado mucho la perspectiva
