Argyle On The Park - Central Christchurch Motel Overlooking Hagley Park

Location is very handy if you like quite place with opportunity to have a walk through the park next door.

I have stayed here many times over the years ... the apartment is roomy, comfortable, clean, well equipped & the location is excellent, being so close to Hagley Park & the Botanical Gardens, as well as the CBD & Riccarton Mall. Great value for money.

The location was good, handy to the park if you wanted to exercise and close to town and the university area. The set up of three beds in one room and a larger bed in the lounge would work really well for a family with 3 small kids who want to put the kids to bed, but still be able to chat, eat and watch TV in a separate area. Good heating and secure door.

The bathroom was very very tiny and difficult to manage for 5 people when the toilet was beyond the shower, so the whole room was out of action when someone was in the toilet or shower. Very little fridge for the size of the unit/kitchen. The motel entrance from the road was a little awkward to find because of the one way system and google maps directions.

They picked us up from Coastal Pacific train and dropped us at Tranz Alpine train which was a huge relief for us and the main reason we chose Argle. Great chicken restaurant/takeaway on the corner. Awesome to be right on Hagley park, easy 30min walk to city trams.

Very conveniently located across the road from Hagly Park, very clean, warm, and beds were comfortable. Had everything we needed.

I requested an early check in as arrived in Chrischurch at 9.30. I went there to drop off our bags thinking we might be able to check in the room an hour or two earlier. Our room was ready and we checked in straight away, free of charge. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and warm, it had a heat pump and there was plenty of space to spread out. It was a one bedroom unit with two queen beds one in the lounge. Cooking facilities were aduqate for what we needed. We were attending an event at Hagley Park and the accommodation was just across the road.

A great value motel. The location is superb just across the road from Hagley Park. The room was well equipped and nicely presented given the type of motel. Staff were excellent and really helpful. Enjoyed our stay.

A very clean property located nice and close to many restaurants and the botanic Gardens and the city Centre. A very comfortable stay for one night, would certainly stay again.

Tidiness and comfy warm room.

The shower was poor water pressure and hard to use the hot water. Cold water tap was fine. When travelling a good hot shower with pressure is always what you need and this did not deliver.

The motel was not too far from the city centre and close to restaurants and a large shopping centre. The room was large and the kitchen well appointed with appliances if you wanted to prepare simple meals. Bed comfortable and small but clean bathroom. Altogether a good value motel well located.

Let us check in super early. Ample parking. Fab location. Very helpful staff. We cooked with plenty of kitchen appliances available.

The unit was lovely and clean. It suited our needs perfectly and had everything we needed.

We were lucky that we had good weather. It wouldn't have been fun walking to the city through the park in the rain.

The loation was excellent. 15 mins walk from Christchurch centre. About the same distance from Westfield Mall. The kitchen was great. A few extras like alluminium foil and clingwrap provided too--thanks.

Bathroom needs renovating. I've never seen a mixer tap quite like the one on the shower.

Pillows were hard. The decor is dated and showing its age, but the room was tidy and clean.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room had lots of space and provided all the essentials when travelling. The heating had been turned on so the room was warm when we arrived. This was a great welcome after a long day of travelling. Thank you.

Have stayed here many times , has large seperate bedroom , within walking distance to CBD, kitchen facilities are good. Comfortable bed.

Bathroom could do with extraction fan and heating . Also shower head could be updated.

Parking was tight. The rooms could stand some updating. When I went to pick up the key, the owner’s apartment was an absolutely cluttered mess.

Apparent old gravity fed hot water system was a trickle at times. 2 year old reviews indicated they were told by customers then, but it has not been replaced with suitable plumbing.

It was nice and quiet. Friendly owners who once they realised i had booked through the app were ready to accomodate me.

I have no complaints. It was value for money.

Access a bit tricky, as not able to turn right into the property. Aged and getting a bit tired, but this keeps the cost down I assume, so also a positive.
