Great location, convenient having restaurant and bar right next door

The location was excellent walking distance to Hagley Park and the CBD . The room was a good size, clean and comfortable . The staff were very friendly and helpful .Vehicle parking and access to the Motel was good .

Being a light sleeper, the road noise was not good but unavoidable .

Close to shop's & restaurant's.

Alot of road noise, car's driving past, people talking on the street so not a lot of sleep.

Clean linen and generally very clean. Good location - can walk to the city centre through the park. Good parking, friendly staff. Decent sized rooms and functional kitchen. Good shower (water pressure, hot water).

Some bits are a bit tired - could use a lick of paint here and there.

Great location, always a good stay here at carnmore. Lovely staff and easy to deal with it. Clean rooms as well.

Maybe we had a dud tv remote but it was very laggy and slow.

Clean modern, quiet apartment facilities. Parking outside door. Unit was drenched in sun on arrival which was pleasant for a winters day. Location close to restaurant and Hagley Park. Set behind other buildings which made extremely quiet from street noise.

The fact that there was no bread knife in the unit and the windows and doors were wet in the morning (no double glaze). It would have been nice as well if there were electric blankets on the beds.

People were very accommodating, room was clean and was very affordable!

The heater on the toilet is very powerful, and the “special reserved” tea is great

Noise was an issue for me — the motel is on a busy road and there’s a bar just across the street. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.

Shower went cold by second persons shower. Would have preferred ground floor with small children as steep steps dangerous and hard going up and down with lots of luggage

Good location, size and had everything we needed.

Ask for a room away from the road it was quite noisy beside the main road, cars going by all night, we had ear plugs so were able to cancel out the noise. The bathroom blind is moldy and the shower leaks

They really need double glazing & sound proofing for road noise for the road side rooms.

It was centrally located, spacious and had a good range of television channel and streaming services available.

Our room was located beside the busy Riccarton Road with the bedroom being on that side of the unit, but the windows were not double glazed so traffic noise from very early morning and until late at night was somewhat sleep-disturbing. Also, double glazing would have made the bedroom warmer, especially considering that we had a winter stay and there were no electric blankets on the bed. To be fair, the heat pump in the main room did achieve comfortable temperatures into the bedroom but we didn't want to run it throughout the night.

Road side rooms were a little noisy because of the traffic outside. Rooms away from the road were great.

The evening receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and on our request upgraded us to a larger room that felt safer and quieter. The cost of the rooms are fair for what you get.

A few things to be aware of when booking here: The 1 bedroom unit that we originally booked was very close to the footpath on Riccarton Road, not ideal on a Saturday night. The kitchen amenities were also extremely limited and the kitchen/living space cramped together in a narrow room. In the larger family room that we were moved to there there was only the bare minimum of kitchen equipment, no stove plate and no microwave safe bowl or dish. The toilet cubicle is so small that you can barely turn around inside it. Also be aware that you will be charged for even the slightest damage - I broke a very thin, cheap drinking glass while putting away the clean dishes (and cut my hand on it) and was charged $5 for it. Not much in the big picture but probably don't worry about doing their dishes!

Space, it's one bedroom rather than a studio.

The shower area, perhaps it's wheelchair friendly, so the water splashes everywhere on the floor.

Our room at Carnmore Hagley Park was clean and spacious. It was close to the town centre - just a short walk across the park. Staff were particularly helpful and plenty of parking onsite if you have a car.

Great parking, very clean and spacious. Lovely bathroom.

Security. Both little door catches couldn't be locked at the same time. Very noisy-road noise, right by the railway line and my room was opposite a sports bar, right next to the rubbish/recycling station so I heard the clang of that getting emptied.

Front desk was not helpful

Location is great, with a short walk through the gardens to the city centre of Christchurch. Next door is a great pub for meals. Although the hotel is located on a busy road, there is no noise inside the rooms.

The rooms have two sliding glass doors as entry doors from the carpark. There is no privacy in the lounge part of the hotel room, as people and cars move around in the carpark. The curtains have to be drawn for privacy.

Comfortable, roomy, renovated room. Friendly staff. Near lots of eateries so didn't need to drive.

Room backed on to a busy main road. No fence or anything in between room & road.

Stayed here in a one bedroom unit with our adult son. Hot water ran out for third shower following 2x brief showers of 3-4 minutes each. A hot shower is the most basic assumption for a motel.
