Nice and new and everything you needed in one building, nice atmosphere.
It was all perfect however if i had to be picky the mattress was quite old and stiff. Wasn’t the most comfy and i did not get on with the pillows at all, so maybe more of a selection.
Lovely hotel and staff
Car park is expensive
Clean, modern, comfortable property. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice bar area for evening drinks
Available food and room service could be better advertised, we didn’t realise this was available so ordered in.
Reception staff were welcoming and friendly.
Outrageous that you had to pay for parking at a facility that majority access by car. Bed was too firm and guests making noise through the night along corridor. Gym facility was poor. No natural light equipment out of service.
Room was very well presented and spacious, and clean
Food and drink was very expensive. The food standard was very poor quality
The staff are amazing, to be specific Ali who wiorked night was amazing and one of the male colleagues at the reception in the morning. The quality of customer service was exceptional. You guys are amazing. I hope their pay reflects their service. The environment, cleanliness, facilities is calm and sleak 👌👌. I couldn’t say any more. Keep up the good work
I think you were overbooked. We had requested foot our 2 rooms to be close together and you tried. We were unfortunately given a key to a room that was already occupied. We opened the room and there were 3 occupants sleeping. My children felt uncomfortable for inconvenience. We were then given another room on a different floor which made it difficult for us since we were preparing for a wedding.
I felt that paying £15.00 to Park your car was an absolute ripoff I also feel it should have been made very clear when booking that you had to pay to psrk.
Beautiful Clean Spacious Affordable Excellent breakfast
We were given a downstairs room close to the door. Very noisy at night.
Excellent location for the event I was attending. The aircon was not working in my room, mentioned it to reception staff was changed immediately to another room.
Very expensive for what is basically a room for the night, also the bar drinks were expensive.
Bar
Expensive parking
Spaceous. Complete amenities. Afgan (apologies of spelled wrong) from reception was lovely
Nothing
Great breakfast.vety helpful staff
The bed did creek!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Location
Parking charge outrageous!!
Lovely staff,clean room
£15 to park car Not good value for money, what I paid for the room, would of thought breakfast would of been included for the price
customer service
Easy to book and convenient
Modern
Very clean and friendly

It was clean.
Air conditioning not working during the heatwave.
All the staff were lovely very helpful. The outdoor area was lovely and a welcome space in the lovely weather.
The only thing was my bed was slightly hard but that a personal preference. .
Lovely room, good breakfast.
There was a/c which was the reason we choose this hotel. However it was not possible to lower it more than 19 degrees which made for a very hot and uncomfortable night. A fan and an open window would have been better.
A very nice breakfast buffet
Everything, room, food, staff, facilities all great
Nothing
Geräumiges, sauberes Zimmer mit allem, was man braucht
Lage ist etwas abseits, aber man weiß es ja, wenn man bucht
The young lady who greeted us for breakfast was extremely welcoming and couldnt have been more helpful
Le personnel au restaurant d'une telle gentillesse et notamment notre serveur Tshering
Rien à dire
The bedroom really sound proof and very comfortable.
All good
It was in an excellent location with easy access and welcoming staff. Pleasant and large room which was well appointed, if corporate. The hotel was busy but the room was quiet.
Having to pay £15 extra to park on site - seems excessive. When your room is over £100 per night I would expect free parking. If you wanted bottled water you had to buy it from a vending machine in the lobby.
Good location for one-night stay!
What a lovely please to stay and visit, I was looked after Kapil, who was amazing!! Made the entire experience as easy and as simple as possible and couldn’t do enough to help!!
Good location, close to local amenities. Friendly staff.
Bed was uncomfortable. Bathroom and bed area not as clean as expected. Small but visible stains on bedsheet, however smelt clean, so suggests that the bedding is just worn/old. Pillows incredibly flat and lifeless!
Absolutely one of our most favourite places and this summer we have enjoyed the wonderful Sunday carvery every weekend along with drinks at the bar. Thank you Brian, you have an amazing bar and restaurant team. Jasper is very knowledgeable and provides a great bar service especially with my blush rose wine! TSherry always take great care of us in the restaurant along with Emma and Sim. We highly recommend this hotel! Thanks, Monika and Graham
I stay at this hotel once a year on the anniversary of my son's death as he is buried in the grounds of a small church only 15 minutes away. On arrival I requested an upgrade as I have been a diamond member for 16 years, mostly in China, where upgrade in Hiltons are almost automatic, but I usually ring ahead to check about availability. In fact my choice of hotels, if there are several near where I want to be located, will depend on availability of suite upgrades. On several occasions previously I had been told "we don't have any standard suites available but if you are happy with an accessible suite then you are welcome to be upgraded to that". This had happened on more than one occasion on previous visits. On this occasion I had booked an accessible room, which I have done often since my stroke in 2017, mainly I need a walk in shower and many hotels have showers over a bath and falling out of a bath is not the ideal way to start my day. On this occasion I was rudely informed by a male receptionist that because of my room rate I was not eligible for an upgrade. I have friends and family rates from a family member that is the chairman a large real estate company that owns many hotels in China. A few days later I discovered that the very rude receptionist had complained about my supposed "Loud and disruptive behaviour" which got back to the associate who gives me my rate. This could have resulted in both him and me being excommunicated from the GO programme. The loss of face far a Chinese staff in this kind of situation would have been irreparable. Luckily it went no further and now 6 months later still nothing has happened so it has probably died the death it was meant to die. A month or so later I stayed agin and I was immediately upgraded to an assisctance suite with out any discussion. Which I gratefully accepted. The next morning on check out I asked who I could email to make a formal complaint about the previous staff member rather than making a complaint to the police about discrimination. I was told there was no way to make direct contact with the General Manager. I could only send to a general email address that everyone could read. I decided that was not an appropriate way to make a compliant about a specific staff member, who had made a dishonest complaint about a situation that had never happened. So I made a decision that I would rather have the opportunity to make my complaint even more open to anyone who reads the 1 star reviews on Tripadvisor. It is also of note that the GM occasionally responds to reviews and signs himself anonymously with a first name only as Peter H. I didn't realise there was an anonymous programme for hotel GM's Probably I will stay again at this hotel as it is nearest to my son's grave but the Courtyard Oxford South is about the same distance and a lot more welcoming to Elite Members.
Great little hotel with live music on the Friday special mention to Brian at the bar who make our night with special cocktails
The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean
The shower was absolutely rubbish, no pressure whatsoever
Clean and comfortable rooms good breakfast
Additional and unfair parking charge of £15 and impolite receptionist
Rhythm and Rice Friday night with the one eyed man was outstanding. The food , the entertainment was spectacular . It is the most fantastic night out, we have been to a few times now. Harriot who sang the first time we attended, sang softly on the background, sang 40s and 50s dressed the part too... It was truly stunning. We also attended the country night at the Hotel Saturday night and I can only say what a fabulous evening it was. Keeley was the perfect hostess, making sure the even ran smoothly and always going above and beyond. All the other staff that were there, Patrica, Brian, Jasper, Cami and Alan were so much fun, attentive and eager to please. But HUGE shout out to the Chef Ainsroy, thank you for THE BEST FOOD at rhythm and rice , omg amazing and then the Western BBq , I don't think you can top that. It was deeeeelishous. I would highly recommend this venue for a fantastic night out. We have also stayed in the hotel and it was one of the most dreamy night sleep we have had.
Held my Daughters 21st Birthday party here and was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Can’t fault a single thing. All staff very polite and accommodating. Was a fabulous evening. Thank you everyone for a great night.
Room and hotel facilities were fine but appalling service, refusing to refund a double-charged bill.
I was double charged on my credit card for breakfast and parking and getting this refunded seems impossible. The reception staff told me that the first credit card approval did not go through and it needed to be repeated. Both charges went through and now the hotel deny having taken the charge twice. 4 phone calls later and I have now had to raise a case with my credit card company to cancel the charge as the hotel do not recgonise the problem. Very poor customer service by the hotel.
Nice hotel but the ac is inadequate when the temperature is above 28C (82 F). We knew there was a problem when we drove into the carpark and room windows were open. The lobby was cool but the room was hot. It did have a fan which should not be needed if the air conditioning was set at a reasonable temperature. I asked at the desk if there was a problem with the ac and was told that it was set centrally. This is a good hotel but I would not recommend to stay here when the temperature is over 28C.
Meeting up with friends. We checked and went to our room. Already hot after a long journey we both showered and changed. Asked at reception to call a cab please, which we have done on previous stays. No you have to book it yourself on the desk.. UNITAXI. After a lovely evening with our friends at their home, we returned. So not pleasant. The room was hot and air conditioning not working. Boiling outside just increased our sweat box. So he goes to complain. Meet another guest with same issue and we were told it would be reset! Well that didn't work. Off to complain again solution a fan!. After breakfast. We packed and went to hand over our key cards. Meet a very apologetic member of staff called Afghani. Given 2 bottles of water for our journey home with the promise of a better stay next time! Stay next time, you fell short of this stay. 2 bottles of water to compensate for the sweat box of room and no sleep.
Location for walking in to Abingdon along the River Ock was lovely. Also perfect for nice dog walking on the doorstep. Air conditioning was excellent so during the heatwave this was lovely.
Lack of wifi in the bedrooms. Restaurant was poor. Sunday roast lunch was very disappointing.
Stayed here to visit Oxford. Located near multiple stores including a Tesco extra with its own petrol station. A couple of minutes walking distance from the hotel. Very handy if you don't fancy paying more for the breakfast on offer at the hotel or want to pick up some cheaper groceries. Plenty of other options available if the mood suits you. There's a few bus stops on the other side of the hotel car park which we used to travel to the centre of Oxford for £3 to £4, with buses going quite frequently, and taking about 40 minutes to get there. Really convenient. Made the whole trip so easy once we got our bearings. We picked this hotel as rooms were air-conditioned (temps were 30 degrees plus when we stayed) and at first weren't sure if it was working. The hotel lobby area and restaurant felt noticeably cooler compared to the room. However, other hot spots in the hotel made us realize the aircon did work. Events were ongoing at the hotel such as music performances for those interested. From our room though we couldn't hear any of it. Noise on the whole was not an issue. Hotel also had a small gym which was nicely cooled (always a bonus with temperatures being what they were) with decent equipment. Also had a laundry for guest use with charges for use of products (we didn't use it but I wonder if you could bring along your own detergents etc if planning a longer stay? worth checking with the hotel). Room was well furnished with iron and ironing board, tv, fridge, kettle etc. Bath was clean and came with handwash (much appreciated, prefer that to a bar of soap), shampoo, conditioners etc. Ample space for parking. With charges of £15 per night. Not sure how that compares to other ones in the area. Seems like a standard price for the Hiltons we've stayed at. Staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't need to contact them for much but help was quick to come when we requested something.
Bed and pillows could have been more comfortable. Maybe some pillows with different levels of firmness? This is incredibly subjective though and some of it could have been down to the hot weather causing issues. Breakfast was okay but wish there was more variety. Recently stayed in a HIlton abroad and the breakfast buffet there was fantastically varied. Different hotels doing different things but still would have been nice to have more than the standard egg, cereal and pastries. Maybe some more options for vegetarians/vegans? To be fair we didn't declare any dietary requirements so maybe the hotel does try to cater to those needs if notified? Nothing here was to the level where it ruined the stay. These were adequate options rather than being outright bad.
This hotel is average. It did the job for us, for a one night stay. The bed is extremely uncomfortable though- it feels like you are sleeping on bricks! There is considerable road noise too.
The room was lrge and the bathroom excekkent. The bed was comfy and the breakfast in the morning was just what I needed.
I had the pleasure of staying here for work purposes in April for 10 nights and it was indeed a positive experience. The room - decent sized, quiet and very clean including a good sized fridge which was a lifesaver for me as I was there for a long period of time. Despite the proximity to quite a busy road, if the window was closed, it was quiet - air conditioning is available in the room. Location - close to a big supermarket and a retail park with other shops across the road including a large gym. Easy walk into Abingdon town centre which is quite flat. Great for an evening walk. Breakfast - it is your standard selection that is repeated in every hotel nowadays however it was very good and freshly cooked. Even the presentation of it was excellent. Dinner - this is where it loses points, on 3 occasions I had to send food back, each time being a portion of chicken wings which were either fried to a point they were completely inedible or on one occasion, came with a garnish of a large hair. Not a great experience. Gym - if you’re there for a night or two, it’s got a cable machine, bike and treadmill so it’s good for a workout Staff - all extremely friendly and helpful from the reception staff at check in to the bar and restaurant staff. Truly excellent During the day, there is a large number of people in the lobby working on laptops and tablets, there seemed to be a group working as part of the hotel management. Seemed to be a form of supervision of the staff but at the same time, seemed to be sitting about doing nothing on their laptops with spreadsheets. Not a great look and they definitely stood out from others who were there on business. All in all, really enjoyed it. The garden space at the back was brilliant for enjoying an evening drink. If I’m ever staying in the area again, I’ll definitely consider staying there again for either work or a personal trip.
Comfortable and clean
Music on the Friday night was too noisy couldn’t have a conversation in the restaurant or bar. Restaurant was freezing Food was very disappointing, last year I stayed and it was very good this year terrible
Gute Lage in einem schattigen Park. E-Ladestationen zu vernünftigem Preis. Gutes Restaurant.

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to on this occasion. My son had his wedding reception at the Hilton Abingdon on 20th June. While some aspects of the overall experience, including the rooms and the hosting of the wedding venue, could have been better, I wanted to take the time to recognise one member of staff who truly stood out. Tshering, who worked in the bar, was exceptional from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. We were up very late in the evening, and despite the long hours, he was still working with a smile. The next morning at breakfast, he was there again, just as cheerful, friendly, and attentive. I'm quite particular about my breakfast and asked for vegetarian sausages. Tshering made sure they were specially cooked and personally brought them to my table. It may seem like a small gesture, but it showed genuine care and excellent customer service. If I were reviewing Tshering alone, he would receive 5 stars without hesitation. Unfortunately, I have deducted one star overall because other aspects of the hotel experience, particularly the rooms and the organisation of the wedding venue, did not meet the same high standard. Exceptional employees like Tshering are what make guests want to return. He is a real credit to the Hilton, and I sincerely hope his hard work and dedication are recognised. Thank you, Tshering, for making our stay so much more enjoyable.
SORT OUT THE PARKING ISSUE!! Many complaints regarding this. Went in after work to meet a friend for a couple of drinks. No one mentioned anything about having to register your cars reg. Received a £100 fine a few days later! Out of principle I will never go back. If you dont sort this out, you will lose all of your custom!
Parking was not free
All sorted and as it should be.( Please see below)!
We arrived and couldn't here the receptionist speak. A dance party ( no issue with at all) was happening in thr bar area but the music was too loud. As a festival goer and concert kinda guy thr levels were ridiculous and as a result I couldn't communicate properly with reception.
It was convenient for our purpose
We were not told about parking charge even though I had enquired about Peking previous to arriving. It was a pain to get to the room as you had to go in the lift to the first floor to then walk along a corridor to then get in the disabled lift to go down again to get to the room! At breakfast the milk for cereal was warm , it had been put in a chiller dispenser but it was not cold so the milk did not taste good. I did mention to a member of staff who then replaced it with a jug of milk.
Modern rooms and frequently staff.
Overnight parking £15
We stayed for one night on a hot day in a room on the second floor facing a restaurant garden in the new building. Location of the room made it for reasonably quiet stay considering that the hotel is by the main roads. Window is large and opens enough to get fresh air in as we don’t like the aircon. Room was clean, freash, spacious enough and functional with quite nice modern decor. Fridge, ironing board, tea tray. Walk in shower, no bath. On the other hand there are no touches like bathrobe, slippers or decent toileteries. I urge you to bring your own shower gel and soap as the hotel products made my skin flakey and very dry despite applying creams on top. My issue was bed - it was so hard and uncomfortable that I woke up at 5 am with a terrible back pain. For this reason I will only return when everything else is booked up in Oxford area. We drove and parking was free but you need to register. Walk to the Abingdon town centre is a solid 20 min with a market to experience on Saturday. We enjoyed lunch by the river Thames on a Laurent Perrier terrace. Please note uber to Oxford is expensive, it will cost you about £80-100 return for a 6 mile journey which cancels out the difference you pay for a 4* hotel in Oxford so it is better to drive and cover the charge and parking or take one of the buses.
Staff were helpful
Bed was uncomfortable. Decor was cheap looking Massively overpriced. Felt more like a cheap Travelodge than a Hilton.
It’s good for that money
We asked for strawberries & cream to celebrate the beginning of summer and the start of Wimbledon. Chef smiled and created a masterpiece that was totally delicious. THANK YOU to everyone at Hilton Garden Inn for making our time with you so perfect and memorable. Mah Jong Club Abingdon 💨🎲🐉
Afgani on reception was absolutely fantastic and best receptionist I have ever come across and I have stayed in lots of hotels. Outstanding customer service and nothing was too much.

Paying for parking.
Wheelchair accessibility was great as well as the room. The bathroom was exceptional 👌. Onsite restaurant was good with lovely staff and an acceptable menu.
Limited blue badge parking, luckily I got last space. Also couldn't see any EV chargers but luckily didn't need it. Not much else close by apart from a Tesco.
Room was spacious and clean
Parking for disabled, no spaces available and taken up by others who did not display any Blue Badge! Toilet in en-suite was not working properly.
Mooi verzorgd hotel met heel vriendelijke ontvangst
Breakfast good choice only problem was height of bed too low
See above TV difficult to use to find correct channel and language
Rooms were clean and spacious! Breakfast was nice, with a waffle maker which is lovely.
The parking was more limited than we thought. It was a Monday and parking was basically full by the end of day. Especially if you’re driving EV, there are only 4 spots in their parking, be there as early as you can or you might as well charge at the nearest EV spot. There’s a was faster one near by so don’t even bother the hotel ones. We arrive around 6pm and none of the EV spots at hotel were available. One of the spot was taken by a hybrid car that’s not even charging!!!! We asked front desk after 2 hours of waiting, and he kindly contacted the car owner, only to got a response of “the owner said they’re going to charge it now” LIARS!!! They did not charge it the whole night and until we check out and just took the spot the entire time.
Had a great 3 days here. Sied at check in was a very nice guy and very friendly. Jasper in the bar was also great guy, my wife said his Mai Tia cocktail was one of the best she has had(hoping he can get the Mudslide on the list) Hotel is very handy for surrounding area. We headed down to Bath and over to Stonehenge. Also went up to Oxford take the park and ride from Reditch which is about 10 mins from hotel.our room was very nice and spacious our meals were lovely and all staff we encountered were very informative on what to do and where to go. Would i return yes no problem a tall
bed terrible
bed and pillows
Breakfast ok
Friday evening(5/6 2026) restaurant unbelievable Far too many people not enough staff Service was so long . We were very disappointed indeed and the restaurant manager that evening ( name????) was only to be completely praised for how and what he had to deal with. He was very professional but he had an intolerable task Please do not criticise him he is to be commended in the circumstances.
Quiet. Away from traffic .
Couldn't stay ad the bed was dangerously low for s disabled person.
Couldn't stay ad the bed was dangerously low for s disabled person. So had to go home ruining the stay which was part of our 24th wedding anniversary
Location
Almost everything except the location! I'd booked 2 King rooms specifically for the extra large double beds only to find both rooms were queen rooms with smaller beds - went to reception to question this and was asked why it was an issue because "there's a sofa bed in there" - I didn't want or need a sofa bed that wasnt even made up! Apparently there was only 1 King room available to move to however when I looked directly at the Hilton website they still had King rooms available? Restaurant at dinner was an absolute shambles! Our group of 4 arrived about 6.45pm, ordered starters, waited 45 minutes for them to arrive. Ordered mains and waited almost an hour and 20 minutes for them to be served. Half of the food was cold and had to be sent back and one of the steaks was so overcooked it was a joke. Apparently they were short staffed in the kitchen and they were obviously aware of this but continued to let people be seated for food without even informing them there would be delays with service. A number of other diners were also complaining about the delays too. Our server, John, was very apologetic about the wait but in a hotel operating under the Hilton brand, this was just bad management and should not have occurred. Very disappointing stay and I will not be returning or recommending this hotel.
Clean and comfortable and quiet at night
Nothing
Staff were all excellent, restaurant and bar were great.
Everything was good.
Great staff, great hotel😁
Car park cost £15.
Sayed who checked us in was very kind and helpful
Booming music which was painfully loud and put us off having a drink at the bar
Excellent service from all staff. Helpful and kind. I would like to recommend Tshesing as a server. Very professional and gave good service. The rooms are clean and nice. The Food is great and is reasonable priced.
Our room had everything we needed , it was lovely and clean . The meal we had in the restaurant was enjoyable and the staff were always friendly. We would definitely book again next time we are visiting the South .
Location
Toilet 1st room broken , 2nd room TV never worked . Bed uncomfortable. Smell of sewage in room corridors, food prices for burger ridiculous, 15pound to park car for 12 hours
The waffle maker was a nice touch for breakfast.
King size bed very comfortable. Good breakfast selection. Great location for Abingdon and Oxford.
Friendly, helpful staff. Delicious food . Clean bedroom and en-suite. So handy to the A34 and buses to Oxford. We always stay at Hilton Garden Inn when we are visiting friends in Abingdon.
Everything
Nothing
Modern, clean and bright hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Our room did not have a bath. The mattress for us felt too firm. The orange juice at breakfast was not mixed and was very watery.
What a gem of a hotel this is. I booked to stay with my little boy and he was blown away. He does love a hotel stay. Upon arrival, we were welcomed in such a friendly manner by Afgani - He is most certainly the friendliest and most welcoming receptionist I have ever met. A credit to the hotel. I had contacted the hotel ahead of our stay to say that this was a treat for my son and when we went up to our room, Keeley had popped a note and two cookies in the room as a welcome gift. This was well received by my son and such an kind touch. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Dinner was great, a good selection and reasonably priced. The car parking is free as long as you register at reception which I think is a massive plus these days.
Nothing
Fabulously friendly receptionist, big room with a very big bed!
Nothing!
Location although traffic noise was bad. Bar and main areas bright.
Squeaky floor boards, squeaky bed. Rats running around car park. Lack of communication when key cards changed ( A board at entrance with large notice informing change would have helped) just saying.
Great bathroom facilities, lived that there was a bath option as well as a shower. Close to A huge Tesco's superstore. Highly recommend the buffet breakfast, top marks.
A bit out of the way but fortunately regular bus service.
Good price.
Charge for parking
Very nice staff good value, but they need to tweak a couple of things.Plenty of meats but, Please Please Please don't serve frozen roast potatoes and expand on the veg offer plus if you're going to serve cauliflower cheese just make a cheese sauce don't use a pack mix which doesn't taste very nice, all the changes don't cost much and would make all the difference,
Comfort of room. Parking paid at reception instead of a machine outside is great also. Menu chose in restaurant and staff are efficient.
We didn’t book online breakfast. Went to breakfast direct on arrival £16 each then checked in later to be told to come to reception to order breakfast it would only be £13 each.Great news. Went to reception on the third day to be told go direct to breakfast it would be £16…. Went to breakfast told the breakfast guy who takes the money of the mixed messages for charging ..and he said today it was FREE to us. Still not sure of what to do next t time if we don’t know our plans to book breakfast beforehand.
