Regina Experimental Biarritz

Location was away from the city center but in walking distance. The Bell eloquent building was recently renovated and very beautiful. Dinner at Frenchies was divine! Rooms were very comfy.

One of the best hotel breakfasts ever! Superb quality pastries, range of juices, healthy options, perfectly cooked omelettes. Rooms were adjoining and v comfortable, quiet. Beautiful hotel lounge area. Staff attentive, professional, friendly.

We spent three nights in Hotel Regina. Room was clean with excellent view from third floor to the lighthouse (Phare de Biarritz). Heated pool in front of the building is great to have a quick cooldown before you head to the city center (by foot 15min or take the free bus shuttle in front, every 30min). Breakfast was good with plenty of choices, the room came with coffee machine and water heater. Even though it has parking available around the hotel, it is advised to reserve parking with the hotel to have one of the spaces in front. We can not comment on the Gym or Spa facilities since we did not use them. Front staff was friendly and supportive. And the atrium inside the hotel premise is breathtaking. Overall we enjoyed our stay, Biarritz is not the cheapest place to be and so is the Regina, but where else to grasp the spirit of this nice French city in a hotel with a clear elevated service and a reasonable pricing? For us it was Regina.

Our stay here was part of a larger trip and a transition night. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area is lovely and the view from our room delightful. The Regina has a wonderful open atrium area. The hotel itself is a grand old lady but she could use a bit of updating and modernizing. A good stop overall.

We were extremely dissatisfied with the service and overall experience at this hotel. First, and most importantly: our child has a severe lactose allergy. We informed the hotel in advance, mentioned it again at check-in, and repeated it before every meal. Despite this, we were repeatedly served food and drinks containing lactose. The first time we managed to catch it in time, but unfortunately the second time we did not. Our child drank a sip of regular milk instead of almond milk, which we had specifically ordered, and had an allergic reaction. This is extremely dangerous for a child’s health and safety. It was frightening, ruined one of our vacation days, and left us feeling that the staff did not take the situation seriously enough. Thankfully, our child already knows the difference in taste and stopped immediately, but if it had been a younger child, the outcome could have been much worse. Second: at checkout we noticed that almost €200 worth of services we never ordered had been added to our bill. Fortunately, we carefully reviewed it and had the charges removed, but this was very disappointing and could easily have led to us overpaying a significant amount. Third: the room itself did not meet the standards of a five-star hotel. There were cracks in the walls, and the whitewash was peeling off. Overall, both the service and the rooms fell far short of what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. We did receive apologies for the mistakes, but given the seriousness of the issues, they felt rather formal. In a hotel of this category, one would expect a higher level of care and attention to guests’ well-being.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel, we got the breakfast the parking and one diner upon our arrival. Location: very good, 10mns walking from the centre, easy to reach Staff: fantastic staff, very helpful (extra mention for Antoine the voiturier, so helpful with tips around the area..) Room: Very good, excellent aircon, noce view to the bay of Biarritz Breakfast: The first breakfast on Monday was great, with a very good chef making great omelettes and great pancakes..very friendly talkative with customers..all was 10 out of 10 this first day, then another chef replaced him for the last 2 days and we noticed a difference (7/10) Diner: We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary, and it was the perfect place for that. All excellent, great sommelier, great food service impeccable.

Loved the sea facing room with views of the lighthouse. Lots of cupboard space in the bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast buffet was varied and interesting with delicious bread and home made jams. The staff were amazingly helpful.

The location, that we could have meals there if we wanted to. That they cleaned every day and put fresh bottles of water out and came by in the afternoon to see if we needed anything and brought chocolates with them. We had the most amazing driver from the train set up for us by the hotel, and completely yoga while we were there too! And we were right across the street from the lighthouse and beautiful views!

We stayed at the Regina Experimental hotel for a week in August -- wonderful experience! Amazing staff -- very attentive to details. Breakfast at the hotel each morning was outstanding. Spa experience was relaxing and delightful. Overall, great vibe!

L’incroyable et extraordinaire gentillesse de l’ensemble des équipes ce qui semble être une marque de fabrique du Pays Basques par ailleurs. L’emplacement et les chambres spacieuses. L’atrium lieu de vie est magnifique!

L’infrastructure sportive est limitée mais la région offre énormément de possibilité. Le Frenchie est bon mais inégal de notre expérience.

Очень внимательный, при этом ненавязчивый персонал. В номере постоянно пытались убраться, каждый день угощали конфетками (очень вкусными). Нам дали для семьи смежные номера как и просили. Очень качественные продукты на завтрак, хотя сам по себе завтрак не очень разнообразен.

Очень дорогой ресторан внутри. Завтрак очень скудный по выбору блюд и продуктов, хотя то что было - очень вкусно и качественно. Очень маленькие номера, в номерах очень мало мест хранения и совершенно отсутствуют места где можно было бы высушить мокрые вещи.

The room was advertised as an ocean room I couldn’t keep the blinds open becuase everyone would see me walking by there’s no privacy which means there’s no point in paying that price. The room for that kind of price is tiny. The staff at the spa weren’t respectful, she also wasn’t interested in helping I wanted a service done and I was told there was a time slot she said I could let her know later and when I came back she said it was fully booked but whenever I went down there the rooms were empty and open. There’s also no access to the facilities at night which is when I want to relax in a sauna for example. She was really rude and didn’t want me to try the samples- she said the products were only available in biarritz which wasn’t true. So I bought one thing and then simply bought the rest I liked elsewhere

Die Lage ist gut. Die Zimmer sind ruhig und konnten gut verdunkelt werden. Von außen sieht das Hotel durchaus schmuck und imposant aus. Der Frühstücksbereich ist nett.

Fitnessraum und "SPA" sind erbärmlich - klein, stickig und schlecht eingerichtet. Personal zum Teil durchaus nett und bemüht, insbesondere auch der Zimmerservice. Zu einem erschreckend hohen Anteil sind die Mitarbeitenden aber wenig aufmerksam und deutlich entfernt von der großen Freundlichkeit, mit der uns die die Menschen im Baskenland insgesamt begegnet sind. Das Hotel ist im Stil des "Nouveau Basque" eingerichtet. Das ist natürlich Geschmackssache. Wir fanden insbesondere die (für den Preis doch sehr kleinen Zimmer) und die dafür umso größere Lobby atemberaubend geschmacklos. Wir haben auf unserem Roadtrip in Bordeaux, Biarritz, San Sebastian und Bilbao Halt gemacht. Das Regina war unser Lowlight, auch wenn wir Biarritz selbst gerne mochten..

очень слабая еда для отеля 5 звезд, совсем неразнообразно. на завтрак за доп плату попросили яйца бенедикт, это был сплошной уксус, мы не съели и никто не спросил понравилось ли, очевидно было что нет. бассейн маловат и для всех желающих в сезон не хватает места и поэтому вас могут отправить в отель через дорогу. это основные минусы из-за которых нет ощущения, что ты в отеле высокой категории. это неплохая 4ка.

Im not sure I can put something really good about the hotel whom make me feel that its nice to lift it up with good marks. Quite decent about the service. Learn english please. So many mistakes when we tried to order in the bar.

Das Frühstück war ok, aber nicht ausserordentlich. Schlechter Service. Bestellte Sachen wurden entweder gar nicht oder wiederholt falsch gebracht. Auch musste man sehr lange auf den Kaffee warten.

Das Hotel ist sehr gelungen renoviert worden. Die Zimmer sind hochwertig eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbuffet, insbesondere Kaffee und andere Getränke waren gut. Beim Personal gibt es von sehr aufmerksamen tollen Mitarbeitern auch solche, die noch Raum nach oben haben.

Das Hotel ist mit sehr viel Unnötigem in einem wirren Stilmix zugestellt. Die Eleganz des Hotels geht so verloren. Weniger wäre da mehr. Bei der Ausstattung im Badezimmer fehlen Abstellflächen. Sideboard, Gestell mit Tüchern bspw. Der Doppelhaken in der Dusche ist unbrauchbar. Hygiene in unserem Zimmer: Wer auf der Toilette war, bedient 2 Türklinken und 1 Lichtschalter bis er die Hände waschen kann. Das ist nicht durchdacht.

Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful cliff top location, delicious food. An art deco delight and a great base for a week of surfing and eating. Rooms were not huge, but we were mainly out and about.

Location was a 10 min walk to the beach, a little hilly and steps. Lovely choice of breakfast.

The staff was exceptionally friendly. We also liked the spaciousness of the room and the nice, big bed with great linens! We also had a lovely view of the sea.

The hardware (knobs) on the bathroom sinks were very big and difficult to turn (especially for older people). Also, the shower was in the tub and the walls were very tall. Getting in was ok, but in getting out, one had to step up, over and down to a lower level than the tub, which was a bit dangerous. Lastly, during the strong storm that took place, water came in through the deck doors and we had to put a towel down in front of the door.
