It's lovely friendly staff and the location. Shops , tram , train station and the interchange had few bus journeys out went to Castleton and did ladybower . Tram to Norfolk heritage park . Also manage bus to weston park all within 5 min walking distance of the hotel

First night woke up by noise outside sounded like someone was emptying bins but I manage to go back sleep . It was in the yard behind so no fault of hotel

Fire alarm going off multiple times in the evening and many of the residents stayed in their rooms.

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station, and 10 minutes into the city centre. The friendly reception staff made checking in easy. The shower was very good, the room well equipped, beds were very comfortable. There is car parking and a lift available, for a budget hotel its well worth the money.

On the positive side, the room itself was very good. It was clean, spacious and well lit, with the bed neatly made and a firm, comfortable mattress. The bathroom was lovely, with good water pressure, which was particularly appreciated. The tea and coffee-making facilities were also very good, with everything you would expect for a comfortable stay. Overall, the standard of the room itself was one of the stronger aspects of my visit.

When I arrived, check-in itself was straightforward. However, I was concerned that the receptionist read my floor number and room number aloud, in front of the reception and dining area. This is poor practice in any hotel, but particularly concerning when travelling alone. Simply pointing out that the room number was displayed on the key card would have been sufficient. There was no need to announce it publicly. I was also asked to complete a check-in form where my email address was marked as a mandatory field. I subsequently discovered that the email address was apparently only required for marketing purposes. I do not believe a guest should be required to provide personal contact details for marketing unless they have actively chosen to opt in. Fortunately, I noticed this before signing the form and was able to provide an alternative email address. The hotel also advertises free Wi-Fi, but there appears to be a significant qualification to this. The initial free access is limited to 24 hours, after which guests are required to register through the hotel's portal to continue using the service. During my stay, the supposedly free 24-hour Wi-Fi did not work consistently at all, which meant I was effectively being asked to register for the hotel's marketing portal simply to obtain usable internet access. Taken together, these issues left me with the impression that the hotel's approach to guest privacy and marketing is unnecessarily intrusive. The Wi-Fi in particular feels misleadingly advertised as "free" when continued access requires registration, and the fact that the advertised initial access was unreliable made this even more frustrating.

The location is a bit rough around the edges, luckily it was fantastic for the tram stop but I wouldn’t want to be walking back to it late night alone

WiFi was only available upon registration with a third party company (Accor?Allco? something like that). There was another option for free wifi based on room number and last name but was disabled. So to get free wifi I had to give up a bit of digital privacy.

It's very conveniently situated for transport and easy access to all of Sheffield. All the staff: reception, cleaning and housekeeping, were friendly, efficient and helpful.

I arrived late after The Rock n Roll circus and the reception guy couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming, when asked where the coach station was for the morning he came outside with me to point it out for me, it made me feel like i could really relax knowing exactly where to go in the morning. The room was lovely and quite, the shower was perfect and just what I needed, and bed was so comfortable wish i had a few more nights to properly enjoy Sheffield. Next time as I will be back.

I always love staying here, staff great, clean, comfy, very convenient and great value.

The distance from the train station, bus interchange and tram stops so you can get to most places fairly easily. The breakfast had a lot of options and the staff were accommodating for our dietary requirements. The room was adequate and had all we needed. We were only using it for a base, so it was ideal.

The bed was narrow, which wasn't too bad however the pillows were like sleeping on rocks and the mattress wasn't too comfortable. The drain in the shower was blocked and flooded the floor on our first night. I pulled out a wad of hair as big as a rat. The evening meal options were limited and we felt they were a little pricey for what they were.

Very central location, easy walk into town centre. Very handy the car park was right across the road. Good variety of breakfast options. Staff very attentive & constantly re-filling items. Lovely lounge area to relax in the evening.

Just a personal opinion- more clothes space would be a benefit ie a set of drawers .

Conscientious and lovely staff, the breakfast and availability of a wide range of food at unsociable hours was a pleasant extra at very reasonable prices. The room and bed were well designed and comfortable bar the high summer temperature.

the room itself had external noise throughout the night from trams, cars and trains. I am normally a good sleeper but windows open to cool or shut for noise, it was disturbing

Hotel well placed for events in central Sheffield. Very clean, room comfortable & excellent shower! Small but well run bar/lounge/breakfast area & a well stocked breakfast available. Staff were friendly & helpful as were most folk we encountered in Sheffield!

Not the hotel's fault but it's scruffy/stinky on the street you walk up on the way to city centre (Dixon St?). Fortunately it's not a long street!

I had a quiet comfortable room on teh fifth flloor. Bed was good and so was shower. Excellent cooked breakfast.

The hotel was spotless.staff where very friendly and always available. Rooms where very comfortable, clean and had everyrhing you could need. The hotel was in a great location within a short walk to the city centre. But also within a quiet area.

The room was comfortable, clean, and well equipped. I appreciated the breakfast options in particular, both the English and Continental ones.

The staff wasn't always very friendly. The location is convenient for the city centre and if you need to take the trams, but the surrounding neighbourhood is shady. The room had an air conditioning machine, but a sign on the wall warned that it should not be used to cool down the room, but rather to heat it. This was especially relevant due to the heatwave that was happening during my stay, and disappointing considering that I stayed in an Ibis in Manchester some days after, where my room was identical to that in Sheffield, but the air conditioning there worked as such.

It was very hot(during heatwave). The worst part was coming to the hotel between 1-5am because there is an intimidating security staff asking what name and hotel number. I thought, one slip up with this guy and I'm locked out. Couldn't even bring my friends to use the loo.

It was a classic Ibis stay: welcoming reception, nice sleep and spacious room.

The only thing I could mention is the location of the hotel but this is more to do with what surrounds it.

Should have requested room on opposite side of hotel that wasn’t facing huge brick wall! There was a bad smell of drains coming through the air vent - didn’t notice until shut window going to bed so was too late to consider contacting staff. We just put a pillow over it to try and minimise the smell

The bar area seemed clean

The room was unbearably hot and the aircon would only do heat, not cold. With the windows open there was music and noise from the pub below then trams running past early morning.
