It’s a nice hotel, great location, good views, quieter part of Sheffield to relax

Reception staff seemed quite cold. I was waiting for a while to check in. Could be a bit more friendly honestly as it’s the first impression to the hotel. Main problem was I got incorrectly fined, although I paid for the parking. Stressful and inconvenient.

Stayed on Level 5, took ages for the hot water to come through. Waitress in the Tavern who served us in the evening had no customers service skills.

We stayed in a Twin Room which had Two DoubleBeds. Very Modern. Shower was Excellent, TV had all of the terrestrial channels! We used the Pool/Sauna/Steam Room. Rington's Tea/Coffee/Biscuits in room were a nice touch. Local markets in Victoria Quays right outside on weekends!

Spa Facilities were a bit dated but did the job. Room did not have AC but a Fan was provided in the room.

Two double beds were great, the room was a very good size and the walk in shower was a bonus for us

The restraint plate warmer was broken so cold plates the food was buffet style and was only just warm so we ended up eating cold food this was the breakfast so sorry not worth £16.00 per head. The evening menu we found choices were very limited but the food we had was very good

Spacious, clean and very comfy room that had clearly had a recent rennovation. Powerful shower, great view of Sheffield and the canal boats. Good location - central Sheffield and Kelham Island all within 15 minute walking distance. Very well equipped gym and nice to have a pool/sauna/steam room, friendly staff throughout the hotel.

The hotel was clearly in the middle of a big refurbishment and there were some cordoned off areas, but it wasn't noisy and didn't affect our stay at all. The swimming pool was perhaps a bit dated and there wasn't anywhere to relax next to it, but the sauna was lovely!

Horrible coffee at breakfast

The rooms were very comfortable and modern. The bed was huge. We used the pool, sauna & steam room which were great.

The renovations. Once complete this hotel will be amazing but some of the hotel looked basic because of the building work.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing. They knew why I was in Sheffield and made my stay so much more enjoyable and special.

Location not ideal. Noise of the lift in our room was just horrible for me to sleep. Check was not pleasant or smooth. My filter on booking.cim was for breakfast included to find I booked room only. Not worth the money.

Extremely clean, and the facilities were excellent for the most part. The bar was a lovely spot for a drink too.

We weee very disappointed upon finding out that the swimming pool is shared access with people using the gym, not just with people staying at the hotel. We went down first thing Sunday morning and it was already fairly busy, including a couple of people hogging large sections of the pool in order to do lengths. The pool should be reserved for customers of the hotel only, as well as the sauna and steam room, or it should at least be advertised clearly that it is shared with others from the gym. We eventually left after barely 30 minutes as it has simply become too crowded. We only chose this hotel because it had a pool. We also found that the girl working as the pool attendant, with the black curly hair, was quite rude. We didn’t like her attitude.

Great hotel, staff were all very friendly and room was excellent with nice view over canal, pool and gym were great, some building work going on while I was there around the leisure facilities, but very organised.

The room was large as was the bathroom. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and polite and the location was perfect. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again. Excellent value for money

❗️We stayed for two nights, and I had planned to use the spa on both days. It turned out they were doing renovation work on the second day of our stay, and we couldn't use the spa due to water issues. ❗️SPA. Steam room-Mould on the ceilings! There was no continuous flow of steam in the steam room; it would run for just a couple of minutes, and then we’d have to wait another 5–10 minutes for it to start up again. It was infuriating, so we just left. Pool-it was lot of sand under the water. Sauna-There were butt prints on the seat.They definitely weren't fresh, but they needed cleaning. ❗️The spa area definitely requires repairs.

We really liked the place. It was clean, cosy, and we really enjoyed having a balcony. The swimming pool was a great size, and the kids were very happy. There is also a sauna and a gym that guests can use for free. A big plus is that they provide towels, so there’s no need to bring your own. As for the food, there seemed to be everything you would need for breakfast, but when we arrived, we had to wait a little for some items to be brought out, as quite a few things had already run out. I also missed having more fresh vegetables.

Arrived early too early for the 3 pm check in so enjoyed a nice lunch in the bar area. At around 1:45 pm I enquired at reception if there was any possibility my room was available. I was told yes it is, but was then informed there would be an additional charge of £15 per hour "early check in" fee. I have never encountered this at any other hotel. Is this normal?

Staff there were very friendly to help. Plus , the location is easily accessible to everything and there is a big swimming pool at the hotel which is so amazing. We had a nice stay. It is worth its value. Thanks.

I expected a clean, comfortable room and a basic level of service. Unfortunately, the room was not presented in a clean or usable condition, and basic amenities were missing. When I raised these issues, they were handled poorly, with no meaningful attempt to resolve the situation. I exhausted the hotel’s complaints procedure, but despite explaining the issues clearly, they simply did not offer a reasonable resolution. I was also told that a manager would contact me following my stay, but didnt. I had to raise it again myself. Overall, the experience was completely unacceptable and represented extremely poor value for money. The condition of the room, the lack of resolution and the way my complaint was handled all fell well below the standard I would expect from a hotel. I would not stay here again.

The pool was amazing the kids loved it.

The housekeeping took 2 items out of my hotel room. I take an long shot glass to mix my mums medication and housekeeping took it even though they don't use anything like it at the hotel.

Spa/swimming pool very much felt like an old annexe to the hotel. Had to walk through tired corridors that felt like an old office building. Pool was filthy. Sand/grit all over the bottom of the pool. The one member of staff looked like she had just been dragged out of a nightclub

Ideal for our weekend in Sheffield. Nice bar with seating overlooking canal. Very central. Helpful staff, 24hr check in. Clean and comfy, great black out curtains.

Very nice venue, I chose this hotel as I’ve previously stayed there on a few occasions but under a different name.

Pretty good property, unfortunately for me I chose a time where workman were maintaining. As one lift was out of use at the time of my stay. Also I had breakfast there and I felt that the items were lukewarm and thought they should have been hotter.

Staff were OK, location good

When I asked for the room to be cleaned, it wasn't really that clean. Had to call to get more towels as housekeeping took all and left us with just one. Didn't replace bath mat and didn't replenish toilet roll, had to go to reception to get some. Outside the hotel as you walk to carpark there was a foul smell.

The room was spacious and comfortable. I liked having a minifridge and the tray for tea and coffee. Parking on site

Lovely staff, a welcoming atmosphere, easy parking, very clean, we had a good meal in the restaurant, comfy large beds, clean and modern shower room. It felt safe.

The occasional banging doors in the night, which was not the fault of the hotel, it would be nice if they put up signs asking other guests to be thoughtful and people trying to sleep.

The pool had mould on the ceiling with broken tiles. The local users of the pool were rude. We asked for local recommendations for a restaurant and walked where suggested. The eatery was okay but to get there we walked through graffiti ridden areas with groups of young men smelling of drugs ... We should have been told to get a taxi especially as females and felt quite threatened . £10 for parking at hotel.

Parking. Payed £10 for parking to find no parking space after coming back from town. It’s a bit frustrating, especially at night time with small kids. Also, there was no air conditioning unit in the room just a noisy fan. Tbh it’s my own fault for not checking before booking. However, for £140 per night you would expect better.

The room didn’t have air conditioning

Good location not too far from the city centre. The area you have to pass through is a bit undesirable though, we saw a few people very drunk lying on the streets and one guy dealing drugs. We received a very warm welcome at check in and all of the team were very helpful throughout our stay.

The lack of air conditioning meant it was very uncomfortable in our room. There was also a celebration on whilst we were at the hotel one evening, and at midnight loads of cars blocked the road outside and sounded their horns. We of course woke up and thought there was an incident until we looked out if the window to see fireworks being set off in the car park right outside our open window. The coffee at breakfast was the worst we have ever tasted - I have no idea how it could be so bad.

The food was awful, cold and limited the hotel’s idea of coffee was a water urn and instants sachets, even though we went for food 10 minutes after they started serving all the food was cold, the first room we were given was dirty and the sink was broken, the second room was slightly cleaner but dated and needed decorating

We stayed here when it was under another ownership and the Sandman Signature has definitely improved the quality of the hotel. The rooms are clean and fresh and the windows actually open which we love! The shower in the room and in the gym/pool changing rooms had excellent water pressure, which is something that is very important to me with my long hair!

There were no net curtains at the windows and although we were on the 2nd floor overlooking the car park, we did feel a bit uncomfortable with this when walking around the room undressed with the curtains open.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The pool access and availability was excellent too. My 8 year old son really enjoyed it. The breakfast was very nice too and options were okay.

We were charged extra for my son's breakfast. There was no scrambled eggs available in the breakfats buffet and so we asked for a plate for my son. They made this and served it to us but we didn't realise that they were going to charge us £23.50 for this request. I had breakfast included in my original booking so didn't think there would be any extras added.

I loved the hotel and decor and the access to the spa. The bathroom was huge with an excellent pressure shower. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The colour changing headboard light was a fun bonus

Although the headboard light and lamps were great I could've done with another overhead main light as it felt a little dinghy after dark.

The room was out standing found the menu in the restaurant limited but to say that what i ordered was very good.

Even after your filter states hotels with free parking, this venue still charges for parking on arrival. The car park was full to overflowing and we struggled.

The hotel is going through a renovation, the room as great! super comfy bed. Complimentary water would have been nice and a standard expectation in a hotel like this. The gym was fantastic!!

Could not find the the hotel and called for directions, the staff need to be a little more aware of how to support guests with this type of query. Breakfast & dinner were average. Room service tray charge and additional supplement costs for evening meal room service were a bit over the top.
