Helaas kwamen we hier pas later achter! Compensatie zou dan ook op zijn plek zijn.

Location
Unfortunately our room was next to gym, heavy noises. Loud chatting noises from outside lawn…possible to move the lawn chairs away from the building?
The location, the room was comfortable, the food was good!
The swimming pool and jacuzzi were full of dirt......
Situation/ service / restauration
Taxes obligatoires de 34 dollars par jour à ajouter
The location is perfectly situated being near Mother's beach, the marina and some restaurants. The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage.
Having complementary bottled water daily and also milk for making tea would be preferable to paying $3 for a small bottle of water and $7.99 for a cup of milk. Also weren’t told about the complimentary paddle boards etc at check in.
Location is great, staff were friendly and the room was comfortable.
The additional $34 per night compulsory charge that was not known before checking in. Also, paying for a marina view room to find it didn’t have a balcony.
I have stayed at the Jamaica Bay Inn a good few times before covid with my hubby and then later with my sister and loved it, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. This time I persuaded my son , his family and daughter and her family to stay there too as were having a family reunion, we hadn’t seen our son my daughters twin for 8 years. This time however was completely different, charging $3.00 for a small bottle of water is expensive, and as I like milk with my tea I asked for a glass for the room and was charged $7.99 for it. We had taxes added to our room on a nightly basis which we weren’t expecting, one of which the hotel allow complimentary paddle boarding,2 bikes, 10% discount daily off food and beverages but neither my son nor I were informed about this and I only found out about after he had returned to Idaho, and he paid $70 for the paddle boards and had paid cash for meals so didn’t benefit at all from it. He also paid $150 for valet parking, but parked and collected his own car being directed to the far end of the car park. This cost for parking a car on top of an already expensive room rate I feel is rather excessive. My room with just me staying cost $2,162 for 5 nights, the breakfast costs are expensive and quite a limited choice. Most of the staff I found to be lovely and helpful even when they were busy. The room was lovely and always kept beautifully clean. All in all I felt a bit let down this time at the hotel after my previous experiences there.
The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and the valet parking attendant, Rogelio , was great.
The food in the restaurant is good
On the second night of our stay we were kept up by the guest in the room above us. First by noises associated with intercourse and then pacing the room for hours on end. It was extremely upsetting for our two daughters. I went down to reception twice. The personnel tried to placate me without doing anything significant. They waved the valet parking fee but that does not balance the totally horrible and unacceptable experience.
I stayed at Jamaica Bay in May on business bc I usually stay at the Marriott MDR but it was booked due to a conference. I had a great experience. Nikki was particularly warm and helpful throughout my stay with my check-in and food deliveries even when the lobby was full of folks needing something. As a result, I felt I would want to stay again in the future. I booked a room for myself and a colleague this weekend and, when he checked in today, he was treated horribly by another woman at the front desk. He ultimately asked her, “How do you treat a guest like this?” And she just stared back at him. I was so upset I called and, fortunately, Nikki picked up the phone. I remembered her from my last stay and, being consistent, she was very empathetic and helpful with this situation. It’s people like Nikki that really make or break a hospitality experience and Jamaica Bay is fortunate to have her at the front desk.
Location
The hostess was rude and it took to long to wait for the food. The online menu didn’t reflect kids menu.

I was genuinely excited to stay here because the location is great, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing from start to finish. The biggest issue was the unexpected fees. I booked through Booking.com, and nowhere during the booking process was it made clear that I would be charged an additional **$78** upon arrival. Surprise charges like this leave a very negative first impression. The cleanliness was also unacceptable. I found a hair in the bed sheets and the toilet bowl was dirty, which immediately made me question whether the room had been properly cleaned before my arrival. Housekeeping entered our room without knocking or announcing themselves. Even more confusing, they didn't make the beds or clean the room—they simply left shaving cream that we never requested. There were also multiple fire alarms going off during our stay with little to no communication or explanation from hotel staff, which was both disruptive and concerning. Finally, customer service was lacking. Our room didn't have any coffee cups, so when I asked the front desk if we could have some to make the in-room coffee, I was told to come downstairs and get them myself instead of having them brought to the room. Overall, this stay did not meet the standard I expected. Between the hidden fees, cleanliness issues, lack of communication, and poor customer service, I would not choose to stay here again unless these issues are addressed.

Réserver une chambre familiale vue mer et se retrouver juste au-dessus du parking, juste au niveau d’un carrefour de 2 routes très fréquentées…
We wanted to be local for the 4th of July celebration.
The hotel and the convenance of the location.
This place is a hidden gem. Beachside restaurant has great food and great atmosphere. Relaxed and chill with stunning views of the marina at night. Centrally located and staff is awesome. Has a very relaxed vibe and staff are kind and friendly (even when overwhelmed and super busy). Mauro, Lance and the team are awesome - all the way to the valets Rogelio and Nick. Welcoming and friendly. I have started having business meetings here as it’s a great location and you can actually talk in a warm scenic environment.
Rogelio, the valet guy, was very kind and respectful. Took my car and brought it back around very quickly. Great service !
I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The valet staff, Rogelio and Uriel were amazing!! They were so kind and so helpful. It’s experiences like this that make me want to come back. The room was spectacular and the view was beautiful. Can’t rave about this hotel enough, thank you for my stay!

I went and met a friend at the restaurant and used the valet service. Pogelio especially was so helpful and answered all my questions with such patience! Overall it was a great experience visiting this hotel.
La ubicación
My wife and I were celebrating our Anniversary and we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The food, service and staff were excellent. They gave us a complimentary dessert after hearing of our Anniversary. This was our first time dining at this restaurant. Upon leaving I spoke with Emerson who manages the Valet service at the hotel. I mentioned to him as my car was being retrieved that my wife and I were first timers visiting the hotel and restaurant and that we were celebrating our Anniversary. We live in Glendale. He congratulated me on our Anniversary and he waved the parking fee. This was unexpected and above and beyond exceptional service. I want to recognize Emerson and Hector for their outstanding customer service. My wife and I had worked for Marriott International for over 60 years combined so we know about good customer service. Please recognize Emerson and Hector for their exceptional service. Thank you gentlemen for making our Anniversary that more memorable!!
Loved the location and beach
The staff and a very weird card policy
I had an incredible stay here. Although I only spent two days due to business travel, I definitely plan to return. The valet team was exceptional, and everyone I encountered, especially Emerson, was incredibly professional.
Love the location of this hotel. The service was amazing, I want to give a special shoutout to Emerson Perez he is the friendliest valet staff. If you need recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to try he is your guy!
Came for the Beachside Restaurant & Bar and food was good as I expected but honestly I don’t write reviews but I had to for valet, Emerson, he went above and beyond, was busy but not too busy to greet or offer help, told me of activities to do and where to go. Great guy
Great valets! Darwin and Emerson :) And I had a lovely lunch overlooking Mother’s beach. Jillian was helpful too. I needed paper and pen for a last minute meeting and she promptly gave it to me. Plus Justin was lovely as our server. I enjoyed my time at the Jamaica Bay Inn and would come back. Thank you!
BEN TRAN is one of two staff members who greeted us upon arrival at 3am with my wife and kids, unloaded the car and prepared the room just like we asked because of our baby boy. The service was truly incredible, fast and friendly. Thank you Ben and Jamaica Bay Inn

Cafe. Brunch till 3pm was brilliant when travelling with teenager. Great view. Very comfortable beds.
The beeping from reversing delivery trucks kinda early!
A very good location- Marina Del Ray is a nice quiet area of LA to stay in- but also within walking distance of Venice Beach (about 20-30mins walk). The room was huge- and very nicely decorated. Room had good facilities in provided toiletries and also had a safe. A good smart TV also that includes all apps - which you need to sign into your own accounts for to use. Also has a vending machine for snacks - which is usual as there are not that many shops that close by. The hotel also has an attached restaurant- and the food was nice there. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
Only small thing - the restaurant at the hotel has recently put its prices up- but had not yet updated the prices on their website. So be careful to ask exactly what the charges will be when ordering and upgrading items in meals to avoid surprises like I had - and do not rely on their website. That said, I enjoyed the food itself.
Rooms were clean and the beach and pool were great. Hotel staff were friendly
the restaurant is way overrated. some staff seem uptight and not outgoing. Food is average at best. If you get the breakfast as a part of your package do not expect a filling breakfast. it's basically 1 small sausage split in half or 2 thin pieces of bacon and two eggs. Parking is ridiculous when paying a high price for a hotel. They want you to pay $50 per night for parking whether it's self park or valet. That should be explained prior to booking, clearly. A lot of homelessness although we didn't have any issues.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a business trip. The entire staff was amazing and really made my stay feel warm and welcome. This hotel is in a great location walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. I was in and out of valet throughout my stay and Darwin and Rogelio took great care of me and always had my car outside ready to go. I will be returning to this hotel in the future!
Check in and check out process was super easy. Everyone was super nice. Hotel was pretty and rooms were very spacious. Maybe not the best location for a family vacay…. Seems to be an older crowd and restaurant was certainly not family friendly or family-budget friendly. Beds and shower were great. View over Marina was OK.
La.piscine etait tres agreable
Le parking de l'hotel a 50$ la journée. Toutefois il y a un parking a 6$ public a quelques minutes
I’m sure I paid $500 plus for a Marina View. Upon arrival there were no rooms available with Marina views. I was facing a busy street looking at a building! On top of that I paid with Affirm prepaid but upon check out…. I was informed that Booking declined my virtual card. So they put the entire bill on the card I left for incidentals!! Very disappointing!!
Your operation is outstanding! People, facilities, cleanliness, and resources were perfect 🥰. Thank you 😊 We had a perfect stay!!!
I have no complaints 😌 🙂 Great job.
perfect location
Just want to shout out to River and Uriel who I feel were totally looking out for me in terms of helping me be quick in my in and out needs - the team there is incredibly friendly, extremely helpful and great ambassadors for the hotel as they’re the first folks you meet. Thank you!!
We spent 2 nights here mid Feb. It is in a great location, with Mother beach right outside and the main beach with restaurants and bars about 10 mins walk. The room was a sea view room with balcony and the room was huge, very modern, a huge wardrobe and good size fridge. There is a pod tea and coffee machine, not Nespresso, just a random brand. The tea is awful so avoid. No kettles as a replacement either, but we were told we could just run water through the machine in a condescending way! On check in we asked if we could pay to extend the room on the last day. We were told as we had pre-paid the room we would have to go on line and book an extra night. We booked direct, and never have I heard this before. Out of curiosity we looked but it said fully booked, which I am sure the reception person, who was not helpful at check in could have said. We did ask another employee, on the morning of check out when we went to buy a starbucks as the room offering was undrinkable, and he said we would probably extend until 2pm but to check with the day staff. We did and they offered 1230. I asked could we meet at 1pm to be told we have people who want early check in so no. I did say we wanted a late check out and offered to pay so why does early check in take priority to be looked at blankly and shrug. We did have the room key validated so we could access the pool area for a few hours, which was helpful. Plus the hotel stored our bags. Overall nice hotel, good location, staff need to learn customer service.
The location right on the marina is fabulous. The outdoor restaurant serves excellent food with a view. The rooms are comfortable and the TV and WiFi worked well.
The room AC is old fashioned units mounted in the outside wall. The LED display was broken so the unit came on and off all night.
Nice to have a restaurant on the premises, was close to family event we were attending.
Our room was on the "city" side and we could hear the traffic going by which at times was a little noisy.
I’m an LA local, so there’s usually no need for me to stay at a hotel—but Jamaica Bay Inn is an exception. My husband and I love staying here to enjoy kayaking, the nearby Cheesecake Factory, and a kid-friendly beach park where our two little ones can run around and have fun. The hotel staff are all friendly and very professional. Hee Sung, the hotel manager, always makes sure we’re well taken care of. Hands down, this is the best hotel in LA. You can’t beat the location—right in front of the beach—and the restaurant offers a great variety of food. So far, everything we’ve tried has been very tasty. Highly recommended.
Excellent staff for hotel & restaurant
We were here last year and booked again mostly due to the perfect location.
The restaurant is under new management and unfortunately the service for breakfast was very slow. My understanding is that it is a different owner than the hotel.
The Jamaica Bay Inn staff are all top notch-from Manager to the person greeting you at the parking lot. The interior is clean, aesthetically very nice and welcoming, and the view of the marina and location make it feel like a getaway no matter your reason for being there!
If I could give this place ten stars, I would! We changed hotels sort of at the last minute because they had the most lenient cancellation policy and we were dealing with the federal shutdown (i.e. airline going to get us there?). Christina at the front desk was amazing and professional. But Mauro (?) in the bar/restaurant was head of the class! Great service and conversation. And kudos to whomever in the kitchen made the homemade bleu cheese dressing to go with my awesome wings. Our room was so comfortable and large that I believe I could actually live in it. Newly updated and so clean. We must have been upgraded because our room (complete with a full balcony w/ chairs and a side table) faced the marina and was delightful at night with lights across the water. We have been traveling for 45 years and this is one of our favorite hotels ever.
1) a hefty $52 parking fee appeared out of the blue. Robbery. The lady at the front desk was very uncompromising and unpleasant about it. 2) upon arrival, the front desk lady told us the pool was closed because “under renovation”. We didn’t see anybody working on the pool. It is most likely the pool had a problem and it was not disclosed to the guests before arrival.
Very rude staff at the check in! My husband arrived tot he hotel first, and they didn’t want to check him in despite he had all my information, including passport photo, reservation and payment confirmation, my email address etc. in addition, a the moment of booking, I sent a message to the hotel saying that I’ll be staying with my husband and this stay is our part of honey moon trip. The staff were very rude and unhelpful to him! It took them almost an hour before he was aloud to check in! Also they said, that if the reservation was made through them directly and not through the booking.com, they would have been more helpful! What a bad service!
Rude staff, loud room
Great location. Walking distance to Venice beach and a lot of excellent restaurants. Staff was fun and helpful.
Parking charges nonsense it’s not great hotel rather pay parking for premium hotels that merit investment such fees should be paid by hotel owners
Die Lage und Aussicht
This is the worst stay i've had in a while. I booked here since i wanted to branch out from staying at the marriott everytime i'm in town, but that was a big mistake -- here's the ugly, bad, and good Ugly: 1) Smell. Pot + some sort of cleaning fumes that leave a bad taste in your mouth in the hallways 2) Fire alarm went off for 20 minutes at 3AM. Apparently someone was smoking Pot and it triggered it (per fireman). Then the room smelled of pot for another 20 minutes (i'm guessing through the ventilation system) 3) Pool was closed. You'd think they'd pick a better time to do so (maybe in the winter) but yup, being fixed for over a month now. This wasn't obvious when i booked a month in advance thru Concur. Main reason i booked Bad: 1) there isn't free water. or it wasn't clear how to get it. The water bottles in the room say $2 or $5. The water jug in the lobby was gone (probably being refilled) every time i went down there 2) Gym is extremely small and stuffy. Someone took the 40lb (or 45lb) dumbbells, so the heaviest ones weren't even there Good: 1) Christina was helpful, although you could tell that people probably often have issues with the hotel, so she's helpful and polite, but protective against what might be common complaints and dissatisfied customers. Other staff were ok. There was a moment where they are looking down working on things and don't look up at you to answer questions at the front desk. So they're probably understaffed and overworked. 2) i was able to check out after the first night with no other fees (just had to pay the first night) I stayed at the marriott for the remainder of the week. A much better experience 5/5
Clean and no animal or smoke smell.
The hotel was wonderful. It is a small boutique like hotel. It is on the water and near restaurants. I enjoyed myself. I did use the gym and I would go walking outside the hotel for exercise. The gym was small but it had what I needed. I always felt safe and comfortable. We did eat at the restaurant on site and the food was good. The front desk staff was very friendly. Christina was so helpful and went above and beyond. A tip for travelers, the valet is $50 per day. We parked across the way at the public lot and it was only $10. I had a nice time and enjoyed my stay.
Booked hotel for a girls trip with 2 rooms. Staff was helpful and polite something that seems hard to get these days! The restaurant was delicious, pool area was nice and relaxing !
Gorgeous area
Room was clean and cleaned everyday, WiFi was so-so as it disconnected a lot. The air conditioning was nice and cool when needed. Everything was good till receiving the final bill. I was charged $52 a day/night for self parking what they call (self valet) that was a total surprise to me when I was never told this would be a charge.
Nice big clean rooms.
This is great hotel to stay in Marina Del Rey, very near the airport, staff are very friendly and the rooms are huge and comfortable Always my go to place in Marina Del Rey
Guys, While this hotel has plenty of self parking available—they only allow you to valet for over 50$ a night!! If you drive right past the hotel—there is a public parking lot right next door on the same side of the road that is from 6$ to 12$ for a 24 hour period. Definitely worth the very short hop over from the public parking lot to the hotel. We stayed two nights and paid 12$ to park!!
The staff made sure we had our brunch table reservation! Our table was ready. Thank you so much!
The beach view was amazing, especially enjoyed it while having brunch at the restaurant. Great staff, took good care of us. Beach is literally right out the door, you can walk it with ease. Very much enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend.
Good hotel and good value. Excellent location. Emerson and Darvan took good care of us and our vehicle. Our second stay here and we will be back
The humid smell entering the room is very bad. Staff wasn’t very friendly and very small beach area.
AI’m p
The check-in staff were anything but friendly. They had to shut off water for three hours, mid-day, and the hot water never returned after that for the remainder of the day, into our morning of departure. We had to take a cold shower. The water also did not taste healthy after the outage. Our sleep was repeatedly interrupted in the early morning hours by screaming (likely unhoused) people outside the hotel, and one morning, at 6am, loud trucks making backup sounds were directly outside our room. The weight room had missing dumbbells. Not a good stay. And a ridiculous $50+ per day parking fee, and top of that.
I enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean. The restaurant staff were very attentive and friendly. Great location! Everything was within walking distance.
We dislike that the hotel is moving towards mandatory valet parking. Self-parking is one of the things we really like about the hotel. Please reconsider!
My room was on the first floor and at first I didn’t feel comfortable but it was indeed. Audrey was great at the bar and the food was very good. Liked the gym too- small but equipped.
Great for the price
Nice hotel - most staff were nice - one was rather rude, there's always a rotten apple somewhere lol - the parking was crazy - we had to wait for people to unload before we could go around and park - could have been a better way - parking is costly as well. The room was large and clean, we had a corner room and it was pretty quiet. Some traffic noise at certain times but not terrible. I'd stay there again. Close to my old stomping grounds, convenient to airport too.
The facility was beautiful. The staff friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable!
Very clean and spacious. Great beach access
Check-in was at 3pm we got there at 2:58pm and still had to wait till around 3:20pm for the room to be ready. But when we got into the room the toilet was broken and had to wait in the room for around 30 mins for it to be fixed. the bath tub was also clogged. There was no screen for the balcony door. So don't leave the door open unless you like bugs going into your room. The was no place to hang your clothes or towels in the bath room. The highlight was the onside Restaurant. The was really good both dinner and breakfast.
This property worked great for our family of four with kids age 11 and 9. Having access to both a pool and a beach was extremely convenient. The water bus is also walking distance. We stayed in a one bedroom, which provided a separate living room area and 2nd bathroom in addition to the bedroom and attached en suite bathroom. Also the bed was comfortable which was important to us. This set up was perfect. Do NOT reserve the executive one bedroom suite if you want separate space for kids. There is no door between the bed and the rest of the suite and for a family of four. We made this mistake and I must credit the front desk staff for finding a way to move us to a regular one bedroom unit .. that absolutely saved our vacation. If you’re considering this property: I strongly recommend getting one of the units that faces the bay. The ones on the street side would be much less inspiring and a lot more approximate to lots of traffic noise. The restaurant is expensive and does not have a kids menu. For dinner time you need reservations or you will have to sit at the bar. The cheesecake factory is walking distance so that is a plus. The pool is regularly out of towels, so consider bringing bath towels if you go down to the pool. They provide good access to ask for support through a chat function, but this hotel seems to be understaffed so it takes one to two hours for them to execute your requests. If fast response service is a priority, maybe not this place.
We had the BEST stay at Jamaica Bay Inn! Sayyora made booking our 10‑room block a breeze, and our anniversary party in the beautiful Antigua Room was unforgettable thanks to Christina and Ernesto’s exceptional service. The newly renovated rooms were spotless and so comfortable, and the location is perfect right by the water, boardwalk, paddle board rental, playground and restaurants. Bonus: the most amazing Farmer’s Market is an easy walk Saturdays from 9am-2pm. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I wish the room could have been offered as refundable. I feel i overpaid for the room vs what the cost was right when we got there
On the beach
Poor breakfast choice. Had to choose between OJ or Coffee - not both. Only paid for bottles of water in room. Wasn't allowed to eat outside due to a private party. Billing was convoluted. They kept taking money from my card despite what was agreed at the reception

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
7/10Mixed comments: some guests noted clean, big rooms, but multiple reports of mold smell in a room and pool/jacuzzi found dirty—overall below-par cleanliness in places.
Service
10/10Generally praised staff (several mentions of friendly personnel and specific staff praised for kindness at breakfast); isolated comment about unfriendly receptionists. Overall service is a strong positive in reviews.
Location
10/10Very consistently praised: good location, beach, views and situational advantages repeatedly mentioned as a primary positive.
Room Quality
7/10Mixed: guests liked big rooms and nice views, but others reported rooms smelling of mold or chemicals and noise issues (next to gym, loud outdoor chatting), so room comfort is uneven.
Amenities
7/10Amenities (beach, pool, jacuzzi, gym, bike rental) are notable but inconsistent: beach praised, pool sometimes dirty, gym/noise complaints and a broken bike rental incident—serviceable but needs improvement.
Value for Money
6/10Frequent complaints about extra costs: expensive bar, high/unclear parking fees, mandatory daily taxes—several guests felt price did not match value.
Food and Beverage
9/10Positive notes about breakfast and restaurant (specific praise for breakfast service and staff), though the bar was called expensive; overall F&B is a strength.
Overall Experience
8/10Aggregate impression: enjoyable stay for many (good location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms at times) tempered by value and cleanliness/amenity issues—overall aligns with the target rating.
