Just what you would expect if you needed a night before catching a ferry.

Excellent comfortable room, but there was no mini bar in the room which is really needed.

Breakfast was fine with a decent selection. Our room was located next the waste bin collection and supplies/ delivery area with noise generated at times in the evening and early morning from deliveries and the service corridor areas. We appreciate this is essential for the running of the hotel but as it didn’t seem fully occupied more consideration could have been given when our room was allocated and we could have been accommodated in a quieter area.

Unfortunately there were children running around— not the fault of the hotel but the lack of control by their parents.

Did not realise we had an adjoining room unerving when someone kept trying the door. Light could also be seen under the door. Breakfast has been scaled down since our last visit.

We have 2 children, a boy and a girl. The family room was a good size and the bathroom was spacious too. The bathroom was clean and in good condition. Breakfast was well prepared and a good range. We normally stay in Premier Inn, because of price, locations everywhere and the family room normally has a double and 2 single beds which is ideal. However, Hol Inn Express room and breakfast is a level above and I'm happy to pay the little bit extra for one night.

2 single beds as well as a double in the family room would make more sense.

We had a wonderful stay yesterday, and I want to give a special mention to Ana at reception. She was absolutely fantastic—attentive, warm, and went way beyond what we could have hoped for to make sure we were comfortable. Reception staff make such a huge first impression, and Ana couldn't have been better!

The location for the ferry was perfect as easy drive. Ability to grab a breakfast item early was good -we did need it before 6.30 and were able to get coffee and pastry to take out. Staff welcoming and generally hotel very clean.

Slight damp smell in the room. Chair very stained and so we did not like to use it.

The reception area was bright and the corridors snelled of baby powder which was nice

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great after moving to second room. Road noise was very quiet with the window closed. Air con in room. Kettle and tea and coffee provided.

First room we were given had an unpleasant smell. We mentioned this to reception and the quickly moved us to another room.

Breakfast and food in general not very good. Hotel rate a bit pricey

Good room with comfortable beds. The pull out bed was larger than a single which was great. The blackout curtains were great. The room was clean and the shower was good. There was a good choice for breakfast which was constantly refilled by the staff. Despite the large number eating, we didn't feel rushed. The staff were very nice.

The room didn't have a desk or table space and there wasn't a chair in the room. Some of the paving slabs were uneven, and my child's foot slipped between the cracks of one which led to the disabled parking. My room was a long way from reception, which isn't good for someone with a disability, who doesn't need a disabled room. Thankfully there was a shortcut through the inner courtyard. The evening food at the restaurant wasn't great, and I had to have my third choice because my first two choices were unavailable. I felt it was expensive, for pre-prepared and reheated food.

The stuff is not kind, and don't know to do their job and don't want to help I get a room in the second floor which is very far from the elevator and it was so difficult to take all my luggage all that way and i asked them to change my room even though to smaller room they didn't agree... the building of the hotel is so ancient too many doors through the way to the room and with luggage its so difficult to go all this way

I thought it was a bit much to charge us £6 for parking on top of £125 for b and b. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting. The berries were defrosted and soggy. The hash brown was indigestible. The bread/rolls were white and bland. There were no poached or boiled eggs. The shower pressure was dismal.

Convenient location, extremely dog friendly and staff were exceptional

Evening meal was disappointing, limited options and the food was tepid, to counterbalance this the continental and full English was very well presented and hot.

At first when we arrived Darren in the reception welcome us exellent,even the breakfast team is exellent and the cleaning team is exellent too.

Lovely welcome, very large room and bathroom, flexible breakfast option allowing us to take some food with us as we left for an early ferry. Less than 10 mins from the ferry terminal by car.

The location. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was very good.

The bedroom was good and clean, the breakfast was also good.

When I first checked in I was given a room on the first floor, I walk with the aid of a trolley. It wasn't until me and my son walked around looking for a lift we were then told there wasn't one. I was then moved to a ground floor room, I'm very surprised in this day and age that a hotel doesn't cater for disabled guests.

Las habitaciones familiares son espaciosas y agradabled, está renovado y transmite limpieza. Si la ubicación no es un problema, puesto que hay que ir en coche, está a 15 minutos de cualquier lugar de interés en Portsmouth y cuenta con un buen aparcamiento.

El desayuno. No por la variedad, que ya sabía de antemano que es escasa, un desayuno inglés justo, croissants y madalenitas, ni embutido, ni queso ni apenas fruta. Es malo por la bebida, si no se toma café o té, los zumos, que no son tales, son francamente malos rozando lo desagradable. Hay agua.

Posizione infelice, lontano dal centro e da negozi, purtroppo l'abbiamo confuso con un altro Holiday Inn Express presente in centro città. Qui è necessario il taxi per qualunque cosa. Stanza spaziosa ma spoglia, armadio assente per esempio.

Check in was easy. Room on ground floor which was easy access.

Breakfast was pretty minimal. No cover for pastries / muffins and there were flies. The sofa bed was terrible, felt upside down as it went down at both ends and we had an adult in it as child didnt like it. Wouldn't recommend for adult. The bathroom was a bit dated. Could do with a freshen up.

Breakfast was mixed however, coffee was excellent, cereals etc were great, quality of sausage wasn't good and bacon was overcooked, the scrambled egg was awful ! Made worse by no offer of eggs cooked differently i.e poached Curtains in the room had holes btw

the room was fab, great lighting, comfort and facilities. the welcome was great and easy check in process

i have to say that the breakfast system needs work - maybe advising guests the process on check in - we came in via the back door as closest to our room and were not aware that you had to go to the front and queue to be seated, this meant being told to move by staff. this was not enforced consistently as when we did queue, we saw people just walking in and taking empty tables, pushing in so to speak the breakfast was like feeding time at the zoo - space not big enough for all the guests and most things had ran out and there was a lot of standing around waiting for things to be replenished. the staff were run ragged and they were very helpful

Hotel molto comodo per chi deve prendere il traghetto per l’Isola di Wight, in una posizione davvero pratica e facilmente raggiungibile.La struttura è pulita e ben tenuta, le camere sono spaziose e anche il bagno è grande e molto pulito. La colazione è stata ottima, con una buona scelta.Per quanto riguarda il parcheggio, non è assolutamente un problema: c’è un parcheggio molto ampio e, al momento del check-in, la reception fornisce un codice sconto da utilizzare al momento del pagamento. Alla macchina automatica del parcheggio è sufficiente inserire la targa dell’auto e il codice sconto e lo sconto viene applicato immediatamente. In questo modo il costo del parcheggio passa da £12 a soli £6.I ragazzi alla reception sono molto gentili e spiegano subito tutto al momento del check-in, quindi è davvero semplice e veloce.Nel complesso, un ottimo hotel per una sosta prima o dopo il traghetto: comodo, pulito, spazioso e con un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo.

La chambre et la douche étaient spacieuses.

The room was ideal, bed comfortable and very little noise from the motorway, especially considering how close you are.

The carpet in the room seemed like it would benefit from a clean, but that is fairly standard for a hotel room. The breakfast was carnage. There is a big green table that no one sits at and is it the way. They food coming out is in dribs and drabs, e.g. the sasauges were empty for ages, then by the time they were refilled the bacon would be empty. There was always a massive queue for the croissants, which were nice though. However, we did not go hungry! I just carried out without the sasauges for example!

I was given an ADA room, which was spacious.

Holiday Inn Express should include parking or make it gratis. In America, parking at most Holiday Inn's are gratis. We didn't fully understand this and ended up paying a gigantic fine. Not good.

Lovely room with walk in shower. Very comfortable beds.

Breakfast was a shambles. Too many people trying to fill their plates all at once. Also far too many children around the food service area. Young children should not be around the food service area. Also, people taking food and putting into bags to take away when there wasn’t enough food to go around. It was like a free for all at times. I felt sorry for the staff having to work in that chaotic place.

ROOM 8! Situated not only next to corridor access door but also adjacent to mens toilets! Squeaky door every time someone entered then door bangs…..cubicle or second door bangs then sinks or water pipes appear to be attached it wall behind bed. Same door noises to exit! No sleep until 11pm then woken again 3am several times in the proceeding hour (staff??) could not get back to sleep. I cannot be the first person to complain about this room…….also the smallest of your rooms I have stayed in and paid more for this one! Also whilst did not affect me as such must affect the people staying on the rear side left of the property revving engines in adjacent carpark from bikes, cars and large group of youngsters.

Hotel is great just some guests made my stay poor noise and spiting in corridor is disgusting maybe look at your cctv and maybe ban this person it’s disgusting and made my stay un pleasant
