Good location walking distance from beach and beach wagon to haul stuff to beach

The bar was very nice staff was great. The golf course view is very pretty. Quick access to the beach. Overall pretty good experience. Went down on labor day weekend.

A little pricey could just be the weekend that I went down. A hundred dollar deposit seems a little excessive for what is in the room. The cleanliness of the room was alright the drawers had crumbs in them there were several coffee stains on the floor that wasn't cleaned up. The room didn't provide a broom to sweep the sand that gets bought in. One of the sheets in the bedroom hand yellow staining.

Very safe, good pool, less than 5 min from beach. Ocean view, free coffee in lobby and separate sink/ annex for kitchenette .

The room was very wet, nothing would dry out , lots of dampness and some musty odor.

PERFECT IN EVERY WAY! Elevators were a tad bit slow, but we were near the stairwell anyway. The restaurant A+! Live music A+! No complaints at all.

I enjoyed everything about the facility being that it was pet friendly. This was our first time traveling with both dogs and the rooms were a great size for 2 dogs and 2 adults to move around. Loved the dog bathroom area and the back door to prevent having to walk through the lobby with people. The hotel was in good walking distance of the ocean and we had a room that faced the ocean. We had a great time.

I feel like they were short staffed for it to be labor day weekend and have only 1 person to answer phone and check in/check out. The bathroom was extremely small.

Tha property is so beautiful but Some things are neglected! They need maintenance.

I grew up in Carteret County (now live in TN) and had no idea this place existed until this summer. Treasure found! Highly recommend and would stay here again. Convenient location, very clean, friendly helpful staff, quiet comfortable room, and complementary beverages was the cherry on top!

We love the Staff especially Jenn She was so helpful, very polite and very attentive to our needs she make us feel home . The place is very clean and the location is great.

The place is nice but needs a renovation asap . The only thing that was unpleasant was the air conditioning that was dripping water that totally soaked the carpet in front of our room and our shoes every time we go in and out, we did talk to the front staff about that and nothing was done about it.Jenn was not there :(

The location, the gym and pool and the parking. Hannah on reception was very nice and gave us some useful information about the area.

The dinner menu was very basic with only a few options and then they weren’t all available and what we did order wasn’t too great. Rooms are a little dated and could do with a refurb but were clean. Downstairs areas are much better than up. Hotel was nice and quiet and we got a good few nights sleep.

The hotel didn’t look like the pictures the room was awful super disappointed it was musty smelling old outdated there was water leaking Ont he floor out of the a/c and refrigerator we were put in a handicap room and the shower was disgusting there was hair in the drain the water would pool on the ground because the shower was all open the room was awful the bed was uncomfortable and hard I was really upset I wouldn’t of gone if I knew all this the hotel isn’t even on the water in the pictures it was facing the water and there a walk to it I get there and it’s Ont he other side of the road and no view at all the pool was dirty trash everywhere and the cabana beds were old and falling apart someone needs to update there pictures online or update the facility

Bathroom situation in room was kind of a disaster, our shower head literally broke. And the breakfast was frozen and just heated up.

It looked nice overall, but poorly maintained. Dingy looking elevators, ceiling missing tiles in quite a few areas.

Shower was dirty, beds very firm and uncomfortable, poorly maintained for the cost.

the smell of animals, the pet hair on the hallway floors and in the room, the people staying there were not trustworthy, uncomfortable beds, unclean bathroom, smaller space then shown on pictures

Room was nice, just like we have had before, we have stayed here several times and like the hotel. Nice to see the coffee bar in the lobby near the elevator, and the breakfast area was nice with a better menu. Everyone got a free drink ticket at check-in

You pay for your room through booking.com and when you check in, they charge your credit card with a $100.00 fee that you are supposed to get refunded after you check out, plus other hidden fees, awaiting my receipt to see what is refunded Shower head could use some maintenance, and water pressure could be better. I read about other guest complaining about the dogs (Hotel is dog friendly now) we didn't have a problem with them

I liked that they had rentals for a beach cart and bikes. And I liked how it was very close to the beach, within walking distance. The hotel was very nice and clean and staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was a great experience overall.

The location is the best you can walk to the beach. Theres several kid outdoor toys while parents relax on the patio.

The room was not cleaned properly. There was sand on the floors. There was stains on the walls like they had never been cleaned. The windows were very dirty as well. The people working there were not very friendly did not say hi or anything when we bumped into them in the halls. The laundry room dryers didn't work properly. Also the washers and dryers are old.

The breakfast was good and reasonable priced. The room needs a few cosmetic repairs. The bed slept good

Probably the only thing would be for us is that the pillows on the beds were a little too hard for us . We also think that the rooms should come with a broom for cleaning up sand

The bathroom a bit small. There wasn’t a foot shower post beach so the room got sandy fast. Water in lobby only in the afternoon & often gone by dinner time, not refilled.

Charging a 15 dollar per day required "resort fee" during summer months, It was not shown on the booking site nor was it shown on the Hotel website. This fee added 90 dollars to a 6 night stay and would have been considered in my decision on where to stay. The reservation was done months in advance but i was left unaware of this charge until check-in. I believe it is fraud. the hotel knows that canceling this week long stay would have been impossible due to no rooms left in the area. When asked what the "resort fee" covered i was shown hotel beach wagons and bicycles that i could use? I dont need either. During our time at the hotel we met several families in town traveling for the World Cup. They also were unaware of the charges until they arrived. How many people were taken advantage of by this Hotel? Unethical!

great location and accessible to the beach

SO MUCH dog hair in the room! We did not bring a dog or request a pet-friendly room, however we were put in a room that clearly had dogs in it prior and questioned if it had ever really been cleaned.

Pillows were a little harder than I am used to.

The hotel is clean. The staff is friendly. The pool is great. The price is reasonable. I like that all the rooms have an extra seating area which makes it convenient when bringing extra items for the beach. It was easy access to the beach with a crosswalk right in front of the hotel.

The bathrooms are tiny. We rented 3 rooms. One was very musty and the vinyl flooring was coming up so we asked to be moved to another room. Only one elevator was working

Not enough information on bike rentals or other activities. Wife wasn’t satisfied with beds, not comfortable enough. Could use an outdoor shower for sand removal when returning from the beach. Allotted towel use for guest at the pool.

Dog friendly, bar, easy check in, parking good, friendly staff, restaurants nearby, access to beach and across road was nice being able to stop traffic to cross. Pool nice also.

Nobody offered to sweep room, I borrowed broom to do so. No towels changed, no toilet paper and no trash pick up Fri, Sat, Sun, I had to go ask for them. People with big dogs do NOT pick up the poop. Husband stepped in it and didn't know, tracked it thru the hotel. Maybe a pooper scooper to use and waste can that is bigger. It was full the entire week. Lots of trash on grounds especially rear and along driveway. Only one slow elevator working. We ordered dinner at Bistro and it was the worse food I've ever paid for. Fish tacos tasted terrible, slaw was turning brown and fish tasted microwaved. Complained to bar waitress but no offer to reduce check, free drink or speak to manager. The worse meal ever!

This hotel is pet friendly. Hotel staff is helpful and client focused. The beach is a short walk across the road. We have returned to this hotel for 5 years. It does not disappoint. We will return next year.

There was a moldy smell in both rooms. Staff was nice and accommodating but even after a room switch the second one had a musty smell and what looked like mold on the ceiling outside of the bathroom.

The location is great and the walk to the beach is short and nice. The beach was not crowded and it was clean. There are tons of little critters on the beach. The staff was all very nice. It was just me and my husband so it was good for us, not sure I’d love it for our kids.

Just FYI no one told us about until we were charged after the stay. There is a $15 PER DAY resort fee that is for bikes and wagons. We had no clue any of that was there for guests to use. When we saw it on our card we called and they explained and we were refunded the fee.

The furniture in the sitting area was very uncomfortable and there was no table for in room meals.

Fresh coffee each morning. Clean towels by pool, pool area very relaxing. Games outside were nice, bikes for riding and carts were very helpful while going to beach.

Didn't like the fact that you had request for room to be cleaned each day. Also, a better place to sit for eating would have been very nice. Rooms are smaller than expected. Could have used mpee than one ice machine on each hall. (Both ends) Wayer pressure wasn't too good and WIFI was terrible. Ywo 20oz Fiji water was over $12. Market was overpriced. Overall pretty nice hotel as far as looks. Just needs a little tweaking.

I called before I booked and asked if they had rooms/floors without pets because I have pet allergies. After booking and arriving, I again let them know I needed a room and floor without pets. They assured me both times that the room and floors I would be on were pet free. This was not true. They booked me on the second floor and there were many animals moving in and out. I understood I would be exposed to animals while in the elevator and Lobby but I worked hard to minimize my exposure by checking before booking and I also bring my own swifter to clean out any pet hair that may find its way to my room. I asked to be moved to a pet free floor and after some juggling they moved me to the 4th floor. Said it was definitely pet free. As soon as I moved into my new room and had just finished swifting in case any pet hair had followed me in, I open my room door to a lady with a very large dog sitting in my door frame barking. I close the door, wait a bit and go down to the lobby to discuss why there are dogs on my pet free floor. I was told at first there shouldn’t be any. Then I was told by the employees they didn’t know why they put pets up there. Then a gentleman, not sure his position, told me that there isn’t supposed to be pets on the two floors they had put me on but when the pet floors are full the owners make them put people with pets on the pet free floors and in the pet free rooms. Now I’m a dog lover and I would like e to pet every one of them but I have pretty heavy allergies. I make sure before booking that this isn’t an issue by clarifying before booking the importance of being in a pet free room and floor. I booked months before coming from Japan. I was there for 21 days. It was summer and holiday vacation time. There were no other vacancies in any other hotel. I checked.

Beautiful hotel with comfortable outdoor hang out area. Nice couch and kitchenette makes it not feel so cramped for longer stays.

A $15 a day resort fee was not discoled to me when I booked the hotel. That was a $75 surprise for extra features we didn't even use because we didn't know about them and brought everything from home.

The suite was beautiful and comfortable. It was also quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Having to pay additional &15.00/day (x 3 days)for water/alcohol/bicycle use/a cart when I don't drink alcohol, I brought my own water, did not need a cart, and can't ride a bicycle.

I liked the hospitality and the bar

I didn't like the lack of breakfast whatsoever. You couldn't close the curtains for privacy. The outdoor area for the dogs was disgusting. Our stay here in the past was exceptional however it's really gone downhill in the last few years.

Floors in our room was very nasty and had to buy a swifter to clean floors and bed was not comfortable at all. Told attendant at desk at check out and he kind of just blew me off like oh I’m sorry but what ever.

The room was a large size.

We changed our original reservation to this property because of the promised craft cocktails and bistro. Then when we checked in we were told that the bistro is not open yet (whatever that means). No food, no coffee shop, no cocktails. Nothing. As often as the "wonderful staff" was mentioned in the reviews, they must have been written by friends and family. We had NO ONE go out of their way for us. Our room was NOT cooling comfortably, so we asked for a fan and got a blank look. Tried to explain again that we needed a fan and was told "We don't have those." They could care less. Pool was filthy. We were charged $15 a day resort fee for absolutely zero resort amenities. It's a long walk down the property's driveway, across the MAIN (VERY BUSY) highway, and then down another long boardwalk to get anywhere near the beach. Close?? NOT. If you are loaded down with children or beach gear, you will be taking your life in your hands to get to the water. This was our first time in Atlantic Beach and this property was not a good decision. We thought we were booking a quaint place with a bistro that would have charm and options, but this was like a slightly upgraded Motel 6. The description and the prices do not live up to what is offered here.

The hotel and rooms were clean, and a great location across from the beach. I liked having the bikes available to use, and I like the fact that they provided two free drinks at the bar.

No breakfast at the hotel, beds were a litte undersized. Some cheaper options for drinks at the bar would have made me more likely to use it. It's a nice bar setup, but does not seem like it's marketed well enough so that people would use it.

The hotel was adequate….nothing exciting. Room was clean and comfy although we stayed in 402 and the ceiling had a lot of mildew and possible mold on it. We loved the beach access…short walk and loved the offering of wagons and bikes though we did not use them.

Bistro was not as advertised, pretty sure I never seen any food there. Bar was left unattended most of the time during our stay (front desk was often unattended as well) so we went elsewhere for snacks and drinks. Also live music was advertised for Friday & Saturday nights….live music from 5pm until 6pm (so early) on Saturday but no one at the bar for serving drinks 🤷‍♀️ We visited pool a few times and a couple times there were no towels available. Just seemed like staff needed to pay more attention to the details.

The hotel has a sign that says Alice Hotel and Bistro. When we inquired about the food /restaurant we were told they didn't have a license yet so be prepared to make door dash orders, stock up on food or eat out. Also, we had a problem with the iron in our room which contained rust and ruined my partners shirt. There was also NO phone in our room and were told not all rooms have them (I can't remember what explanation was given, something along the lines of mechanical issues) So calls to the front desk had to me made on our personal phones another. Some of the front desk staff were far from enthused, never at the desk, lacked a caring demeanor and were also not fluent in English. Overall, it was a good stay simply because of the 5 min walk to the beach.

Some of the staff were super friendly. The boardwalk to the beach was just across the road.

It wasn't exceptionally clean, just ok. I am a clean freak so I don't expect everything to be to my standards but it could've been a little cleaner.

The location was nice, the room was nice, and the view of the golf course was amazing. Now for the down side of things. If you try to check in early, even 5 minutes early there is a $25 dollar fee. Also you pay a $15 a day resort fee (acces to pool, workout room, bikes, and access to the beach which is public, and parking) which I wasn't to hip about. Then on top of that there is a $100 room deposit so in case they find anything wrong with the room. For me all these little things added up and for that reason I WOULD NOT stay again. Another pluse I forgot for some is they are pet friendly here.

Looks nice from outside and in lobby.

The room. It’s in desperate need of a deep clean and repair. The grout in the shower is mildew stained and the shower head was crusty. There were water stains all over the ceiling. The couch had greasy head stains on the fabric. The phone blinked constantly and there was no message to clear to make it stop, so we had to unplug it from the wall. The Breakfast Bistro was closed the next morning. They said they would have coffee; they set out all the stuff to add to your coffee but only had a water dispenser out. For $250 a night, I expected way better.

Wow, what a hidden gem. Public access is close by and if you like, you can check out a bike to explore the area, which we did! Full bottles attached to the shower for gel, shampoo and conditioner. Full bottle of lotion attached to vanity. AC worked great. Black out curtain if you want to nap. Hair dryer available and my hair was dried before commercials on TV were over - I have really long hair. (LOL). Dogs are welcome and there are dog biscuits on front desk. Great staff.
