Great staff great view good food in the restaurant

Did t like the surprise 150 dollar charge for parking when we showed up and then the parking was limited had to struggle to find a spot that I had to pay for.

We liked the location, pool and staff.

The room especially the shower could have been cleaner.

It was full of sand all over the floor plus it seem it has recent wall work done and messy my babies all feet and knees where all white from whatever it was plus none of the days they had a playpen available

Restaurant was overpriced. There was an A/C leak on the balcony causing the balcony to be wet and slippery.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the view was what I expected, as all of the rooms are oceanfront. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the beach was clean and was not crowded. We did not eat at the restaurant; however I like that they had seating outside and they also had an outside bar with drink specials and kid friendly slushies.

The restaurant was one of the better amenities. Good selections and Sunday buffet was only option; tad pricey but very pleasant servers.

Parking was not advance notice of $20/day. Keys constantly became unprogramed so off to the front desk to be reactivated. Wifi and cell service were non-existent

The cleanliness, staff, and that beach chairs and the umbrella was provided on a first come first serve basis. I liked the outside tiki bar and Sarah was very friendly and did a great job! We will be back.

Die Lage am Strand ist wirklich schön. Der Strand ist sauber und breit. Es stehen Liegestühle am Strand welche genutzt werden können. Das Wasser ist sauber und warm gewesen. Kaum Besucher am Strand. Zum schwimmen oder Surfen gut geeignet. Das Restaurant im Hotel haben wir nicht getestet, sah aber zumindest gut aus. Es gibt eine Bar mit flatscreen TV und Sportübertragungen.

Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Es werden Reparaturen in den Zimmern nur notdürftig durchgeführt. Am meisten hat uns die fehlende Sauberkeit gestört. Es machte den Eindruck als ob nicht gereinigt worden ist. Sand und Haare auf dem Boden. An der Decke Schimmelflecken welche überstrichen worden sind und wieder durchkommen. Der Außenbereich mit Tischen und Sitzgruppen war abgesperrt. Das mitbringen von Essen/Trinken und draußen sitzen war nicht gestattet In der Umgebung ist nichts weiter als der Strand. Kein Aktivitäten. Man muss mit dem Auto losfahren und in die Nachbarorte. Beaufort ist sehr schön. Tolle historische Altstadt. Auch das Fort ist ein Besuch wert. Es gibt viel amerikanische Geschichte. Fazit: Als kurzer Reisestop okay aber definitiv nichts für einen richtigen Urlaub.

Dirty, the room was very humid/damp and the AC unit was dripping water on the balcony so every time we stepped in and out it tracked in water. Also the rails seem to be spaced out to much where a toddler could slip thru

The outdoor area has a very warming atmosphere. Close enough to the pool and right beside the playground. Overall excellent for families traveling with children and pets.

The front desk clerk was super nice and friendly. I enjoyed how I was able to walk right out to the beach, the fact that there was a restaurant downstairs which made it convenient for eating, the tiki bar was a plus.

My only issue was that the room had roaches. I killed one the night we arrived and didn’t think too much of it however the next morning I killed 5. I did let the front desk know about this. But this would be my only complaint.

The property is steps away from the beach which is extremely convenient with small children. The restaurant on site was delicious and the drinks from the bar were very good as well. There's a nice pool and hot tub to relax in if you aren't quite feeling being in the sand! It's pet friendly so it's nice to see dogs getting to enjoy a vacation too.

Our room had a super leaky AC unit and we were mopping up water a lot. The bathroom is also pretty tiny and didn't have storage in the shower for your personal items. The walls are also very thin so you can hear conversations or what sounds like furniture moving.

I liked that I had an ocean view balcony and that the furniture on the balcony was nice.

I didn't like most of the staff. They were unprofessional and rude. The only ones that were friendly were the guys in maintenance who wore the green shirts. The hotel was also very under staffed. We had a broken ice machine on our floor the entire week. We had no hot water the first day until 11pm that night. I only saw someone clean the pool some 1day the whole time we were there. The water had a lot of sand and was green. Old, crummy, miss-matched towels at the pool, if you could even get one. The bed and pillows were very bad. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows lumpy.

Room was clean, bar service was great, food at the restaurant was great, and staff were friendly. My son loved the pool and playground and had a great time. My family came here a lot back when it was called Clam Digger Inn. I’ve always loved the place!

My ONLY complaint is the thermostat in our room automatically shuts off when no one is in the room. I looked it up and apparently it has a sensor that detects movement. So anytime we came back from going out it was hot in the room, and it kept cutting off at night when we were sleeping.

Had mold on the ceiling and it was peeling never had towels available when asked for them and the rooms are pretty small for what you're paying

The property was in a good location. It wasn’t as crowded as it was down by the pier I would say it was about a third of the amount actually about a quarter of the amount of people that went down by Oceana and Doubletree so that was awesome. The staff at the restaurant were not as helpful as the rest of the staff however, the pancakes were awesome. I would stay here again because of the location and the hotel was clean, but the restaurant staff could use a little refresh course and how to be courteous. Thank you for your help.

Def a prime location. Why we chose it. Pics are misleading and make things look nicer than it actually is.

Most things are very old and need updating. Rooms are mediocre at best. Both my rooms were right by the elevator and that wasn't the most pleasant.

Everything was wonderful except that I saw private parking, but nothing about having a daily fee on the booking part of it. I have nevered payed to park at a hotel, and will make sure to look before booking again.

The location was great! We enjoyed the pool and the beach was not crowded at all. The staff was very friendly.

We had a lot of issues with the AC. Our room was always hot and sticky upon returning, even when we left the thermostat at a much lower temp. We were later assured this change in temperature was “normal” and they were switching to a new eco friendly motion activated system that would only kick on when you were in the room. But this meant every time we came back from the beach the entire room was muggy, the floor was damp, and it took hours for the temperature lower. The bathroom really needed to be updated. It was very small and only had a flimsy shower curtain, which mean the entire bathroom would get wet after using it and no matter what we did, we had to consistently wipe the entire floor of the room down with towels to combat the wetness issue. When we could get towels of course. We were unsure if there were not enough towels to begin with or if hotel staff were wary of handing them out in case people ran off with them, but asking for more towels was an ordeal every day.

We have stayed at this location over many years and owners. The remodel is very nice. The rooms and view are great. Very clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The beach is beautiful! Ordered food and drinks were delicious.

They were experiencing some maintenance issues with the pool. Worked hard to resolve. One of the reasons we have been coming back year after year is the availability of chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The property still has them but only first come first serve and the chairs are in very poor shape. In the past, you could reserve and pay for two chairs and umbrella which worked well. Should look at that or possibility of contracting with beach service for convenience of guests.

View and beach - nice and quiet even with dogs around. Hotel was easily accessible for travelling with dogs.

I always scoop the poop - I was surprised how many quests with pups didn't scoop - and some pups were nice healthy medium dogs leaving some sizable piles in the doggie areas.

I liked being near the ocean and able to sit on my balcony and enjoy the ambiance. The food on-site restaurant was good but definitely overpriced. This will be more explained in my food podcast.

The hotel is outdated and need serious upgrades. Im sure that is in the infrastructure plans.

There was a wad of hair, not ours, at the base of the toilet when we first arrived! Gross!

The property offered a restaurant with good food, friendly service and a nice outdoor eating area with great beach views. Free beach chairs and umbrellas made the beach a little easier. Pool with tiki bar was nice as well.

The room a/c was hard to get a comfortable setting and it was very noisy. The shower had a curtain that would stick to you and allow water to leak on the floor. The shower floor did not have a non slip surface and it was slippery almost causing a fall. Room lacked a broom and dust pan so floors were sandy from shoes. I also thought 20 dollars per day for parking was a bit high.

Some parts were dated but not bad. The location for beach was amazing but it is like 10 minutes from any store or restaurant outside of the restaurant that’s located in the hotel.

When walking in it was very comfortable and inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved being right on the ocean. Loved the pool, tiki bar and restaurant. Just lovely.

The staff seemed stressed with the internal workplace or management, not sure. Talking about complaints regarding their position in front of me and other guests. Disappointing, considering how great everyone was at dealing with customers. The pool was closed around 5:00 on Saturday. The lady said there were lightning strikes 10 miles away and they had to close the pool. I asked if it would open later, she said yes. We asked later and they said it would remain closed. Disappointing! We never saw any lightning and a brief shower of rain. The children were disappointed.

No breakfast. We went down excited to eat and knowing we didn’t have to leave resort. The restaurant closed for breakfast. No notice and even sign out front said restaurant open for breakfast.

Lights in sink area didnt work. Hair dryer broken apart and like dipped in sugar water. Two towels and one washcloth for three day stay for two people. Phone broken in room. Couldn’t call housekeeper or desk. Had to use my cell to call the resort to tell issues. Was put on hold repeatedly for over an hour or continuous trying to call and alert about issues. No comforter on bed. Finally gave up and had no hair dryer or any of other issues corrected because I never got the front desk. I couldn’t leave my 93 year old mom at the time to go downstairs to complain. The keys kept stopping working to get in room. Errorless experience. I was refunded the parking fees but feel a day refund total would have been justified as I didn’t get any of the amenities I had to pay for. I had a room/ roof over my head and water for a shower. That’s it. So disappointed and frustrated during whole trip. Was ignored and put off each time I called desk. And left a message but no follow up or call about the message that my phone wasn’t working in the room and there were other issues. Awful time. Being ignored and dismissed is upsetting, and that’s what I paid for!???

Toilet kept running housekeeping tried to fix it, then it wouldn’t flush. We took the lid off and parts were held together with a hair tie. My husband adjusted the hair tie so we could use the bathroom. We were unaware of the karaoke night and were woken up from a nap by the noise and bass, unable to enjoy our room and had to leave. Came back around 9-9:30 and they were still going. Finally stopped around 10.

Pros ; - location right on the beach, it’s not crowded & first come first serve chairs provided - all rooms face the beach - decent size pool + jacuzzi -on-site restaurant and bar

Cons; - thin walls, you will hear the entire conversations spoken at normal level of your neighbors - bathroom is small to navigate - $21 per day parking fees were not mentioned at time of booking.

It is not the newest hotel but still well kept and tidy.

Rising Tide restaurant had a nice seafood buffet. Nice variety of food. Well prepared.

Charged separately for parking when I checked in. When I booked the stay, I thought that I had prepaid for all fees and taxes.

Location was great for the Aquarium and local restaurants. The beach was very clean and lots of seating options. Some really good restaurants near by outside of the property. Family oriented and very peaceful for your enjoyment. I would highly recommend and most definitely I would book again.

When booking here there is a hidden fee that you don’t know about till you get there. The property has a parking fee on top of what you booked and paid for. The restaurant at the property was really good but the value not at all especially when it’s way over priced.

I loved the view, the Tiki bar, how easy it was to access the beach, the remembrance shell shelves, the restaurant food and staff, the pool. The restaurant food was excellent, although a bit pricey! I don’t mind paying more for a meal when the food was so good. As an example, if I remember correctly, the shrimp appetizer was like $19. It was honestly the best coconut shrimp I have ever had, so I didn’t complain. :)

The bed was very uncomfortable. It was way too hard. Many of the chairs on the beach were broken and couldn’t be used as well as a very limited supply. It gave the appearance of cheap and an unkept hotel.

We enjoyed the location and amenities the hotel offered. The pool and poolside bar were great. Obviously being right on the beach is great too!

We were shocked we had to pay for parking upon arrival.. that was not something we had budgeted for.

It was an ok hotel with a restaurant and tiki bar, chairs and umbrellas for the beach.

They charge $20 per day for parking which I was not aware of when booking. And we were charged for 3 days not 2. They use pump bottles in the shower that are stuck to the walls. They just refill them. That is totally unacceptable . Our balcony door did not lock, it was reported and told that no one will come through your balcony. However my husband talked to a maintenance employee and he was resolving that issue on a different floor the same day ours was reported. Our AC unit leaked onto the balcony. We were reprimanded for bringing our own alcohol outside of the tiki bar. There is a sign on the entrance way to the tables where the restaurant serves food but no where else. We are seniors and I think we were targeted. The burly man came out and said there are signs everywhere and they are not. As long as you buy from the tiki bar you can go to the pool or wherever. Once the tiki bar is closed nothing is said to anyone.

I was uncomfortable with a few dogs we encountered. I question how thorough the vetting is regarding the visiting dogs.

I don't like hidden charges unknown to me at checkout when at check in i was gold ,i saw how things operated there. I gave up trying to buy a soda there. "MAXIMIZE PROFITS ON OUR CUSTOMERS" if we can't get them coming in then will get them coming out. Its not hard to see the game you play! you have desk clerks that are slow and confused acting and not sure."ITS ALL A PLAY TO GET YOUR MONEY" it is just poor ethics and character. this is not about the money it was how it was done. "LAME"

Phone in room did not work. The floors were sandy and dirty. The shower floor was dirty and very slippery. There were No Tissues in the box. All of this was taken care of the next morning. We checked out at 2 a.m., on Tuesday clerk said I would get print out in my Email. Never got. Called the next day went to a voice mail. Finally got someone at 5 p.m. Charged $40 for parking!!!
