Reviewed Sep 18, 2026My room was clean and comfortable for one night. The room was also quiet given that it was facing out onto the main route to Derby railway station.
The information provided on booking about the hotel being unmanned and needing code entry was confusing and misleading. Also no credit card was taken as a guarantee which left me concerned about my room being there when I arrived. This caused unnecessary worry and phone calls to clarify the situation.

We were at the front of the hotel which was very noisy, we didn’t have breakfast so I can’t comment on that , nor did we use any other facilities than our room. It was unfortunate that the lift wasn’t working so we had to climb the stairs.
We couldn’t get the WiFi to work, and the lift wasn’t out of order.

Very noisy outsde which wouldn’t have been a problem but 2 of our windows wouldn’t close properly. Fridge needs an upgrade as milk had turned overnight because it wasn’t cold enough but fine for other drinks. Just needs a good deep clean and then it would be a lovely room.

There were little bugs seen in the bedding (didn’t look like bed bugs) however a week later one of our party came out in a very typical bed bug rash. The bathroom was very dated and needed a thorough deep clean, none of us wanted to shower the next morning due to this.

Al parecer, el Recepcionista no tenia NI IDEA, y NO está indicado en la entrada del parking, que TODOS tiene que sacar ticket huespedes y foraneos, y si no se hace, la empresa de alquiler del vehículo paga las multas directamente al parking, te las carga en cuenta y no hay posibilidad de apelar. Muy mala información a este respecto. La estancia mas cara que hemos pagado nunca. Mal informados y timados por el sistema Hotel-Parking-Avis. 100€ al día de multa sin cartel de aviso. UN ROBO

The day manager was extremely rude, charged £20 extra for us to have twin beds instead of a double although on booking.com it was only £3 more. He then took our fan off us, which we really needed. Wouldn’t let us have any ice and then did, he was very strange and rude to the point we felt like he had a problem with us for no reason. This is the reason I would not stay there again.

Stairs, no lift. No room service, had to ask for room to be cleaned. Very hot in the middle of the night, no air conditioning and a small fan that did nothing!

Reviewed Jul 16, 2026⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful stay at Ashton Court Hotel in Derby, and a big thank you to Himanshu for making the experience so enjoyable. From the moment I arrived, he was professional, courteous, and always willing to help with a smile. His friendly attitude, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to excellent customer service really stood out. He made me feel welcome and ensured everything went smoothly throughout my stay. Staff like Himanshu are a real credit to the hotel. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend both the hotel and Himanshu's outstanding hospitality.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2026All the members of staff were lovely and professional. Abdul, who was at the reception desk at check-in, was exceptional for his effective communication and warm approach. Please, give Abdul a pay rise on my behalf, lol. The hotel is also centrally located, making it perfect for events in the city centre.
There is no air conditioner in the room, but Abdul sourced an extra fan, which was very helpful. There was a strong, unpleasant odour in the hotel and in the room, and I am unsure if it was due to the cleaning agent or spray. Whatever it was, it needs to be addressed!

The room had an awful smell, like cat pee which made us think there was possibly damp in the room somewhere. The carpet was also wet in various spots around the room. Upon arrival the price of the room was more than what was advertised on booking.com. A little bit dated.
