The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable and the restaurant excellent, staff were very friendly and welcoming

Breakfast was ok, nothing to write home about. Bread was cheap bread. No avocado. Only saw the 'small writing' later that you can order black pudding, poached egg to order. We were walked around by the waitress too, no mention of ordering items.

Moved to another room as the fridge wasn't working. The NEW room: this fridge wasn't working either. No blind/net at the window so couldn't let the air in as it had Thick curtains. No free drinks in the room, as there were the last time I was there 3 weeks ago (only room temp water). Room was very hot, no fan. 2 Beds too close together.

So relaxing. Room was very clean and comfortable. Spa and jacuzzi were exceptional. We had a really nice time

All the staff we met were helpful and pleasant. Always greeted us with a smile. The location was very good with the railway station and the town vets short walk away.

The bar offerd a menu of snacks, when we tried to order, we were told that the kitchen was only making sandwiches... The bathroom shower tray had black mould in the corners and the water didn't drain away fast enough which almost resulted in flooding the bathroom

Me deram um quarto que o ar condicionado nao funcionava. Tive que trocar de quarto. Dentro do hotel e complicado porque tem um elevador que vai ate o segundo andar e outro que fica longe que vai do segundo para o terceiro andar. Tudo muito confuso. Cafe da manha acaba as 9 e 30 te obrigando a acordar num horario nao desejavel.

Facilities for handicapped people (like myself, using a Walker) not good and need a lot of improvement. I parked outside the front of the hotel to help with my disability and received a Parking Penalty Notice. I had paid the Hotel for my parking for my stay! So very unimpressed with the hotel's parking policy, along with their incorrect advice!

Location great, 10 mins walk to city centre & plenty of parking at hotel. Nice modern reception.

Musty/mouldy smell in foyer, quite bad. Faulty Air con didn’t work but they gave money off stay because of this. Floors a bit creaky/heavy doors so could be noisy if busy.

Bathroom was lovely, bed was comfortable, staff were great welcoming and accommodating.

The breakfast coffee was awful, the room had no windows which we disliked immensely.

Very confusing signage to rooms. It would have been nice to have possibility to check in slightly earlier. Felt a bit pressurised to eat the breakfast within times. Would have been nice to have been allowed to stay and finish even if food bar was closed

The location was ideal

The 1st night, our bottom sheet was dirty. The 2nd night we had the following week, the room was £140 more expensive than the previous room. It had NO air-conditioning the toilet ran all night keeping us up. The wet room flooded the whole bathroom, making us use 4 towels to just try and keep the water from getting to the carpet. The breakfast we'll I wouldn't feed that awful excuse of a fried breakfast to prisoners of war. If I wasn't in a rush to leave I would of stayed and negotiated a refund for the quite frankly worst hotel for that extortionate prove I've ever encountered.

Room was outdated, airconditioning did not work. We got another room where airco was working, but it was also quite worn out and not in line with the nice lobby entrance

The room was spacious and clean and location was close enough to be able to go to the centre by foot. It was also easy for us to reach from the train station. The spa was great with lots of different options for sauna, steam room....

Small windows for the size of the room with limited opening capabilities. The spa was a bit crowded at the end of the day with not enough space for number of people in there.

The parking arrangement was a bit strange - there’s a public car park in front of the hotel which is less expensive than the hotel rate.

The location is fantastic, so quite, i heard nothing..not the street, nor the cars not even other guests. About 10 minute walk from the center. Good breakfast, very attentive stuff. Comfortable bed. Definitely a place to go back to in the future.

The breakfast is only until 09:30, I would like it to be a little longer so I could go to the gym before breakfast without getting up very early. Not very comfortable closet, almost no shelves. The air-conditioning was making noise like running water and was dusty inside the air conditioner, but didn't effect my sleep..not that loud. The flushing system was slow. But overall it is a very nice hotel with kind and attentive staff, definitely a place to come back to!

Very dated rooms. Our room situated with a very noisy ventilation system outside. Tv did not work on signal. On arrival all the staff were interested in was ensuring parking had been paid.

We stayed at the hotel this weekend to celebrate our engagement and anniversary, and overall had a lovely experience. Before our stay, I spoke with Jessie, who genuinely went above and beyond to help make our celebrations special. Her care and attention before we had even arrived were incredible and really set the tone for what we hoped would be a luxurious stay. The room itself was beautiful, and the reception team were absolutely fantastic. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. I would especially like to thank Jessie and the reception team for making us feel so welcome during such a special celebration. Their service was genuinely exceptional

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the level of care taken with the cleanliness of the room. Whilst the linen was clean, the bathroom floor had noticeable stains and looked as though it had not been properly mopped or cleaned. There was also a single sanitary bag which was torn and had a dark brown stain on it, which was unpleasant to find. The glasses in the room were clearly not clean, with visible dirt and handprints all over them, and the teaspoons had dried tea stains on them, suggesting they had not been washed after previous use. These are relatively small details, but when staying somewhere that prides itself on providing a luxurious experience, cleanliness should be of the same high standard as the wonderful service provided by the reception team. I hope the housekeeping standards can be improved to match the level of care and attention provided by the rest of the team.

Its location. Close to city centre and shops.

The room was in bad conditions. Blind is broken, wall is cracked, stains on the chair, low water pressure and sink is blocked. When we complained they offered us a room without AC, and it was warm. Was told the hotel was fully booked but there were hardly any guests there.

This hotel was excellent value for money & really exceeded my expectations. The room was great and the staff were attentive and welcoming throughout my stay. I also appreciated the option to pay a little extra for a late check-out which allowed me to make the most of the spa facilities. Overall the spa itself was very good and the relaxation room in particular was a great space- well equipped and a lovely place to unwind with lovely loungers and free tea / waters. The location was another highlight. It was very convenient, being close to both the train station and the town centre. Overall I had a really enjoyable stay and would happily return.

While the spa itself was really good I do think it could be monitored a little more closely. For example I saw someone vaping by the pool and a teenager was chatting loudly on the phone / playing social media videos without headphones in the relaxation room. I appreciate that some noise and less considerate behaviour can be expected around a pool (particularly when people are on holiday) but I think a spa environment is slightly different and relies on a more peaceful atmosphere. A little more supervision, along with clearer guidance around appropriate use of the facilities would make the spa experience better.

Great value when we booked. Good size room and nice spa facilities. Excellent dinner. The staff were very helpful and accommodating.

The property was in a very good location. Interior of the hotel was wonderful knowledgeable staff about the surrounding areas and very helpful. Leisure/pool facilities were fantastic.

Our mattress had lots of springs digging into our bodies during our sleep and the kettle in the room hadn’t been cleaned for quite some time. In need of a desperate decal. We did not drink tea or coffee in the room because of this and no replacement kettle was brought.

The staff were very welcoming and super friendly. When asked if we could move rooms Oakley was very accommodating. The spa was lovely and perfect way to unwind before going out.

The rooms were really warm. We were provided with fans but they seemed to just blow the hot air around. It was advertised with aircon. Our aircon did not work and the room was uncomfortably hot for most of our stay. Even with the windows open. We made it work but it’s our only criticism for the stay.

Room 238 is one of a number of rooms at the end of a maze of corridors, some of which are signposted but others not. I had to guide a couple of elderly Americans to the lift. In the event of a fire, this could prove to be hazardous. Showers are modern but the pressure has a tendency to sporadically leaving the water very hot!

Spacious room with all the essentials, great tea, coffee, water and biscuits refreshments, good size bathroom with toiletries. The hotel has a lovely spa with a pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Amazing breakfast options with full English and continental buffet.

Initially we hadn't had TV in our room, but all was sorted the next day. Parking in front of the hotel is confusing. We had to top up existing parking to ensure we have valid parking to last us till next day.

Atenció de recepció molt amables, aprop del centre històric que es precios i val molt la pena coneixeu. Esmorça esta be.

Per el preu que pagues el matalàs no te bon confort, el que vam dormi era només d’ un costat o cara i estava possat del rebés, així les molles es notaven. La nostra habitacio estava situada just a una sortida d aire d una cuina o algo que feia molt de soroll, molestava molt. Repeteixo per el Preu pagat, això no hauria de ser.

Room was very noisy due to loud bangs from guests on floor above. Evening meal at restaurant lacked any ambience and soft background music needed as provided at breakfast. Unsettling to see a large rat run across our path in the parking area outside the hotel

Overall experience very good. Breakfast choice excellent, Ate in restuarant one night service was excellent and food very good. Enjoyed using the Leisure centre with steam room and sauna.

Had a great stay

Location was fairly central. The spa relaxation room was lovely and there is a small pool, steam room and sauna.

The room looked directly out onto the carpark. Would be more private with a slatted blind or something to give you light and privacy. The Aircon was a unit on the wall, very noisy and very breezy to sleep under. Breakfast was like a treasure hunt. Glasses no where near the juice but hidden behind the toaster. Butter no where near the jam but next to the ham. Fried eggs were rock solid. Coffee was from a vending machine and pretty grim.

I had to change rooms twice. I walked into the first room and the light switch was hanging off the wall with lights not working. Reception changed my room with no problem. I went to the second room which had patio doors leading onto a roof with a massive extractor fan next to it. I tried to shut the doors, but they would not stay shut and were broken. Reception came up and looked and moved me again. The third room was fine. But iron didnt work, hair dryer was overheating so much it was melting! Seems a lovely hotel that has not had the best maintenance on room facilities.

Pool area was filthy, we upgraded to a suite which was old, run down and a rip off, we had to move rooms as we could hear mice or rats 🐀 scurry and scratching. Ended up in a better room than what we started with, suite was not worth the extra ££ to upgrade. Suite ceiling was falling apart, pics below

This is the best hotel experience I've ever had, I booked it knowing I'd be exhausted after Boomtown festival in the area and thought I'd treat myself. The room was large and so comfortable, with air con which was such a treat after camping in the heatwave, amazing shower, lots of TV channels to relax and the spa was incredible- so relaxing! I particularly enjoyed the steam room with the cold plunge next to it. Even got some free Haribo on the way out!

The hotel had pleasant public areas and was very clean. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with plenty of tables for busy periods. The Bramley toiletries were amazing and the bed was comfortable.

Though I was not advised when booking, the standard room had no window other than a skylight. The bedside light didn't work, the toilet flush was problematic, and the centre of the hot tap was missing. Overall the room was a disappointment.

Coffee at breakfast wasn't very enjoyable. A couple of staff members were a bit grumpy. (Overall lovely though, especially reception staff and a young lad waiter in the evening, he was new. Bed was v comfortable but was a double in what what was clearly a king size space making it hard to reach bed side cabinets and light switches from the bed! Air con was feeble on a hot night!

Giving a disabled room first then moved to a junior suite with one small window the rest of the room was dark then nearly got burnt by the shower

The hotel is just a short walk from the train station, tourist attractions, and shops. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the shower facilities excellent. The air conditioning kept things cool, and biscuits, tea, and coffee were provided. I loved the thoughtful touches, like being able to pour a glass of cold water on a hot day, plus the great selection of biscuits, sweets, and chocolates. The amenities—pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi—were lovely and relaxing. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of hot and cold options. I stayed for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it—it was great value for money.

The room had a skylight, so it was a bit dark.
